Burnout Revenge
Overall: This game is absolutely amazing in every way. I really don't see any way that it could be better. If you wanna rent a game that will just make you obsessed with it until you have to take it back then this is the game for you. And if you just can't get enough and want to buy it I would strongly recommend it. The game is so fun and the 2 player and online component make the replay value very high.
Gameplay: A very exciting game to play. Extremely simple controls and still takes skill to be good at. It isn't just about smashing everything in site. You have to race well and use special things like crashbreakers at the proper times. The things added to this game like the revenge factor are just amazing and add so much. You can't help but want to get the guy back who smashed you and when you see that red arrow above him you try as hard as you can to return the favor. Very exciting high speed game.
Graphics: This game looks absolutely amazing. It has the graphics of Forza but in a high speed competitive city atmosphere. Everything from the cars to the streets, crashes, and even the glaring sun is done perfectly. This is the smoothes looking racing game yet and will be hard to improve on.
Audio: It sounds great in every way. Different car engines each have a distinct sound, you can hear traffic speeding by you as you just barely avoid it, and the explosions and crashes are intense. The sounds are very exciting and just add to the high speed feel of the game. As well the sound after another car takes you out and the camera zooms in on your new rival adds to the feeling of revenge you seek. The music in the game is also quite good. There is a lot of music from other EA titles but it's all good music, unlike with other games, and you don't get sick of it at all.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Jet Set Radio Future
Overall: This game was fun!! There isn't much I can say but this game was totally unique and unlike any other game I've ever played. I think it would be great to have in a collection based purely on how unique it is.
Gameplay: This was a very easy and fun game to play. The controls were super simple and there wasn't much to the game in terms of moves and such. It was pretty basic but still was very enjoyable. The game was very fun and an easygoing game which was good to relax.
Graphics: I love cell shaded games. Some games try to pull cell shading off but it never seems to fit right. But it fit perfect with this game. I personally couldn't imagine this game looking any other way. Very well done and very nice environments, character designs, and great interaction with the surroundings.
Audio: Great sounds in this game. The sounds were lively and very upbeat just like the game itself. IT added very much to the feel the game portrayed but wasn't way over done which was nice.
Suggestions: More games in this style should be made. If there was just a little more to the game it would be a great seller I think.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Spider-Man
Overall: Overall I think this was a very good game with a lot in it which could really make some people enjoy it. The story stuck to the movie for the most part but there was some added to kind of show Spidey's everyday life and the stuff inbetween the big scenes in the movie. The web swinging was great and the creators didn't let you hang anywhere like many Spiderman games have in the past. They forced you to use your surroundings like if he was really in a city.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very well done I think. The tutorial will help anyone who hasn't played it before to learn the basics and jump right in. The controls are very easy and nothing was overcomplicated to pull off.
Graphics: Visually I think this game was done pretty well. It looked pretty decengt for a 3D game but I think they tried to keep it a little too cartoony. But, still it worked with the game and would be pleasing to most gamers who are fans of Spidey.
Audio: The sound was done pretty well in this game I think. The web sounds and voice acting was all done very well. Each voice over worked with the scenario but like many games I didn't like how when you were fighting someone and beating them up they just kept talking like nothing was going on.
Suggestions: Game was very enjoayble> Keep making comic based movie video games like this one.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Unreal Championship
Overall: Overall this is a very fun game in my opinion. There is a lot of strategy involved but still can be just a fun run n' gun style game. I think if someone gets bored of the same old shooters they should definately give this game a try because it has a feel like no other.
Gameplay: The was such a fast paced shooter. The controls were pretty easy, like most shooters are, and you could jump into it pretty easily which was nice. There was always tons of action in this game just like there was on the PC version which made for a very exciting experience.
Graphics: Visually this game looks great I think. It doesn't look as good as the PC version though which surprised me a bit. But, the character designs, unique environments, and the bright colors made by the weapons when fired were all very appealing.
Audio: There's so much going on at times in this game and each sound is covered fairly well. Explosions, different guns being fired, powerups. All of this if covered in the game and adds to the game's excitement.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Otogi: Myth of Demons
Overall: This game was absolute junk to me. The look was unique but it really didn't play that well and the graphics weren't smooth at all! The only good thing was the character designs. I wanted to buy this game before it came out but after renting it I regretted giving up my $7. Don't play this.
Gameplay: The game was fun kinda because you could smash anything in site and fly around places at times. As well the moves each character had made it cool but the game really wasn't that fun. It was just the same go to a level and kill everything you see. Not much tactic to it at all. Just rush in and smash smash smash.
Graphics: Visually the game was choppy. Not smooth during gameplay at all. The look was very different which was nice bu it just wasn't smooth. The bosses and all the enemies were poorly done but the characters you got to be were really neat I think. I enjoyed them very much.
Audio: Didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the sounds in this game. The noises other characters made were lame though and all your characters' sounds were was the weapons swinging around. Not a whole lot put into this aspect. I also got sick of the narrator's (or whatever it was) voice. They tried makin it sound like your concsious kinda thing but it was so monotone and boring.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Freedom Fighters
Overall: I think this is a great game that was really overlooked. The graphics are pretty good and seem to suit the game very well and the gameplau and replay value is phenomenal.
Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is the best part. It's really exciting and has a lot of strategy involved with sending troops one way and coming in from the other side. This surprised me and I really enjoyed it. The games multiplayer is also great which boosts the replay value a lot. It's pure mayhem but with strategy involved. It's really a struggle to take bases and makes for a really fun game.
Graphics: The game has a pretty unique look. They try to make it real but with a comic book character style look. The uniforms look great but at times it's hard to tell people apart. But, in war it would be so this is ok. The environments are lacking a little and there isn't a ton of detail in them and parts don't get blown apart when a grenade hits them as much as it should.
Audio: This games sound isn't too bad at all I don't think. There's a lot going on with all the gun fire, explosions, orders being given, and screaming. However, there isn't a lot of diversity when it comes to the sound. You don't hear bullets bouncing off of things at all. It's just a constant gun fire sound. As well, with all the people running around you think you'd hear some loud footsteps but it isn't what it should be. I think they could have done better with this aspect of the game.
Suggestions: I enjoyed this game a lot. It's not a top seller obviously but if more came out in this style at a resonable price I'd definately give them a try.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Nightcaster: Defeat The Darkness
Overall: This was a good game I think. It's more of a sleeper hit that not many people are willing to try. I think any age could play this and enjoy it which is good. But, I thin kthe game is more of a renter than a buyer since you can fly through it fairly quickly and there isn't much replay value. A good game though.
Gameplay: The gameplay was super simple and anybody could really play this game with ease. The spells were neat and I like how each sepereate colored spell affected a certain colored monster best. It ensured you built up everything instead of having one incredibly strong color. There could have been a wider range of enemies but this was a simple game and it did have more designs than most games so I think they did a good job. The replay value of the game isn't too high though so I think it lacks there.
Graphics: The game looked pretty good in my opinion. Not like unbelievable graphics but it ran smoothly and was consistant with the dark look it went for. I also enjoyed the over head look the game used. It isn't the normal style and that was nice.
Audio: Sound was ok. When creatures died the sound wasn't too great I don't think and the sound didn't add a lot of excitement for me but it did it's job and everything worked where it was placed.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Overall: Overall... GO BACK TO 2D!! Mortal Kombat is not a 3D fighter at all. It can't compete with Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc. It doesn't suit the style at all and is just boring in 3D. The last good Mortal Kombat in my opinion was MK3 Ultimate.
Gameplay: Gameplay is meh not good I don't think. It seems slow and the different styles don't add much to it. I really couldn't stand playing this game.
Graphics: The game looks really nice with a lot of detail put into the characters I have to admit. The environments look good as well. But, still the game could be a little smoother around the edges.
Audio: Mortal Kombat always had corny voice overs and such so I can't complain really with this. The voices weren't good but they kind of got away from their tradition and seemed to try and make it really serious sounding.
Suggestions: GO BACK TO 2D!! Graphics aren't what makes a game. The gameplay is what makes it enjoyable and this is not.
Overall Score: 4.0 / 10 Rallisport Challenge
Overall: Overall this is an awesome game. It was the best rally game the Xbox had (until rallisport 2 came out) and it really attracted a lot of attention with its graphics and unique racing style. It was a great beginning stage for the rallisport series on Xbox.
Gameplay: The gameplay was awesome. A very fun game to get into and really gave a better appreciation for the rally racers. The career was challenging but it eased you into the game each stage and helped you gradually advance as your skills increased.
Graphics: The game looks just great. For one of Xbox's first rally racers this was just out of this world. It was very smooth and had a look to it that isn't seen in any racing game. The unique look suited the unique racing style that rally has.
Audio: This game sounds just great in my opinion. The cars engines sound just like a rally car should and you can really hear everything that is taking place when you make a turn. ie. dirt flying. They did a very good job capturing the sounds of a rally race.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
Overall: The game is good but it isn't what it should be in my opinion. With how fun the first game was this game had my expectations really high. The slow motion in the original was ground breaking and this one just pretty much played off of that again. You can't look for success with a feature that has already been done in the other game and a few games since. The game would get a higher score from me if it was the first of its kind but since it was the second of the MP games I really am not impressed.
Gameplay: The gameplay was ok. It was fun yes but there wasn't a whole lot that was different than the original. The slow motion was upped a bit and there was some other new things but really not that much made this game beat the older version. They're should have been a lot more added and you think the makers would have made the game longer after the first one was so !&%$@#* short. But, no... still short.
Graphics: Visually it was decent. But, it wasn't that much better than the original which was a huge let down. This is the 2nd installment people! Up the game a bit.
Audio: Sound was the better part of the game. Great voice overs, music, and sound effects. It all really added a lot to the game and it suited each scenario as good as it could have.
Suggestions: Don't play so much of off the slow motion! Add something new to keep the consumer coming.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Overall: Overall this would only be a renter but I wouldn't even recommend that much since there are other mindless killing games that have better sounds, graphics, moves, and at least some dynamics compared to this game. But, if you love Buffy this is your only choice.
Gameplay: Gameplay was decent. Simple buttons and easy combos. But, very few combos to learn and this just added to the boringness of just going through and killing blah blah blah over and over and over the same old thing. Find something, beat up and kill, heal, and repeat.
Graphics: The graphics for this game weren't too bad. The faces looked pretty accurate to the real life characters and didn't have that flat look that so many games use. Th environment was not too bad and you could interact with it to a degree which was nice. As well it stayed dark and gloomy for most of the time which was good since this is a vampire killing game.
Audio: The sound effects and voice overs were pretty good but oh my god there was one thing that bothered me so much. The fact that if someone was talking and you started beating the hell out of them they just kept talking perfectly calm and normal like nothing was taking place! It was so irritating.
Suggestions: Add something else to the game to give it real dynamics. Like let us play as a vampire or have a lot more things to learn in the game to make it exciting instead of just having the same killing.
Overall Score: 5.0 / 10 RollerCoaster Tycoon
Overall: This is an alright game but in my opinion it belongs on the PC. It really doesn't scream Xbox to me and isn't the kinda game I want to put in and play and do nothing else. Computer is fine to pass the time but doesn't belong on the Xbox.
Gameplay: Not much for gameplay I don't think. It's just non stop fixing things and making things work. I'd rather at times everything worked for awhile so I could just watch rather than something going wrong every 5 seconds so I have to fix it. It makes the game harder to enjoy.
Graphics: Visually it's ok. Nothing out of this world really. Just your basic sim style game with a lot going on in the surroundings. It suits its purpose but isn't amazing.
Audio: Sound is ok. They do a good job making it sound like an amusement park should sound. Ie. walking around and encountering different noises all the time like people talking, different rides, etc.
Suggestions: I'd leave the sim games to the PC. It doesn't belong on the Xbox. And if you do insist on putting it on add something neat like being able to walk through the theme park in a first person mode and go on rides or something.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Shenmue 2
Overall: Overall Shenmue was a very unique and fun game. Not my style of game at all but I still enjoyed playing it. The story is easily one of the best and most complete stories in a game I have seen and anyone can complete it with a little time and effort.
Gameplay: It has good gameplay I believe. You have some freedom to run around but still the game keeps you on the right track so you don't run around for hours trying to find where you should be to finish a task. The game also has the neat feature where you press buttons at a specific time to give you some interaction with the cinematics like the Die Hard games used to do in the arcade. Theres also little ways you can make money on the side of completing tasks which gives the game some added credibility and fun.
Graphics: The game looks fairly good I think. It could use some touching up ie. looking more realistic, better colors. but I think this was the look they were going for. The environment looks pretty good and they don't cross the slums of Asia with the rich areas like a lot of games tend to do. You really get a feeling of this run down community.
Audio: The sound is pretty good. Not a lot to it but enough to complete the game without having anything seem out of place and non realistic. There seems to be a sound to everything in the game from leaves blowing to your character panting when you run.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Overall: Basically this is a renter because you go through it once and you get bored of beating on the same enemies. You may want to go through it more than once to level up your "favorite" characters but it's not worth it in the end because nothing new happens.
Gameplay: Same old run around and hit everything you see game as all the other LOTR games. Gets very repetetive and boring after some time. Sure there is some strategy at some points but for the most part it's the same thing. Use a couple buttons the whole game and that's that.
Graphics: It looks pretty good and the videos in it are decent. However, there is still some rough edges and basically you fight the same few enemies over and over. Not a lot of diversity there. The environments look good though, but you're restrained to follow a path and you can't really venture out on your own.
Audio: I think the sound was a plus in the game. You hear battling a lot around you yet at times it goes so quiet that you become tense waiting for something to happen/jump out. The voices are also very accurate to that of the movie.
Suggestions: Some diversity and exploring would be nice rather than having a set path through the whole story.
Overall Score: 5.0 / 10 Amped 2
Overall: Overall I think this is such a great game. It's the kind of game you can just pick up and not even play the game but just ride around pulling tricks off and still have a good time.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very smooth in Amped. The game is very basic yet still has that level where you can tell a good player from an average one. The career is VERY difficult to complete 100% and will take a lot of time but it's nice to have a challenge.
Graphics: Visually this game is so smooth it's amazing. I wish you had more choices for clothing and boards you could use on your character but what you're given is pretty good. The colors are very bright and make for a calming and fun game to play.
Audio: It sounds great. You can hear the wind passing by, can tell the difference from the sound with a soft carve and a hard carve. The sounds of grinding and when you land a jump and even when you go over ice are all very nice. The songs in the game are also pretty good and it all comes together to make for a very fun experience.
Suggestions: Keep these kinds of games coming. Very good games.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Forza Motorsport
Overall: Bottom line is this is the BEST car game made for the Xbox yet in my opinion. It's a true simulation and takes a lot of skill to master. you can't just cheat your way to the top and become the fastest. You have to pay attention to everything in the game and there's so much to the game that the replay value is great.
Gameplay: This game is amazing. I love how it's more of a simulation than just a racing game. You can't just go as fast as you can and cut across things and smash into stuff and keep going fast. You actually have to race properly. The career is very good as well because it really teaches you how to become the best. I'm also very happy how not just one game is the fastest but the game keeps it so you can only make a car so fast so it can compete closely and the game is more based on your skill than your car.
Graphics: Visually this game is unmatched. It's so smooth and theres so much customization to it and theres so many choices for cars it's amazing. The only other car racing game that compares to this is Rallisport 2 and it had no where near as much as this. So amazing.
Audio: The sound is wonderful. The engines roaring adds so much and it's awesome to see each car with its own distinct sound. The way you drive is really shown with the sounds ie. braking hard, screeching tires. It's also good to finally see another game where you can use your own soundtrack.
Suggestions: I can't suggest anything really. This game is awesome. It's too bad you can't save things to a pack though. I lost a file already. But it's for the better good... !&%$@#* cheaters.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Dragon Ball Z: Sagas
Overall: This game is BAAAAAAAD. You'd think it would be fun to build up the character and earn all these tihngs to make him better but it gets so boring because theres so little you can do. I played this cause I was bored and had nothing else to play and it couldn't even hold my attention. I really don't recommend this even to rent. Wait til they release something new.
Gameplay: This game is so !&%$@#* short it's amazing. I didn't even play it that long cause I grew bored but I was nearing the end in only a few hours. The fighting was ok but there wasn't much to it. You only had a few moves to do and when flying you couldn't even go up and down. How boring is that. You can fly but only forwards and backwards... you might was well run, at least you can jump then.
Graphics: Visually I think it looks ok. The 3D and bright colors suited DBZ but still it looked almost too babyish. They could have made it look better with cell shading which does at a bit to games rather than everything all round and bubbly.
Audio: The sound was ok. Everything went well but it was the same old punch, kick, etc. sounds. The voices were good however and sounded very close to the shows. But, in the end the sound doesn't really add anything exciting to the game.
Overall Score: 4.0 / 10 NHL Hitz 2003
Overall: I think this is the BEST nonrealistic hockey game made. I've had it since release and still play it a lot. It's exciting and the 3 vs 3 really keeps the games intense. It's awesome to play with friends and even against the computer. It's a little rough but the graphics are very good in my opinion and it has an amazing gameplay and replay value.
Gameplay: This is the funnest hockey game I've ever played. I've gone through career a couple of times and really have created totally different teams. It's nice to see the style you choose really affects a player. Ie. One team I have has a pure offense line, pure checking, and one defense/offense line where as another team is more each line is a little of everything and it totally changes how you can play that team and how the AI on your team plays. However, once you master your team and its style it becomes pretty easy to beat the computer on the highest level. Not sure if it's just my style but I can run the score up to about 25-1 on the hardest level where my brother has trouble getting the score this high. Either way the difficulty should be higher but this is the only set back.
Graphics: Visually it can be a little rough around the edges. You can't do much to change the facial details of players but you can customize the bodies, equipment, and even give a crazy head like a rat or zombie. There's a lot of different rinks to choose from, from an outdoor rink to a kids play room. The hits in the game are also great and the players move very smoothly for this style of game. In some environments you can hit over boards where you shouldn't be able to which is annoying at times but a minor set back.
Audio: Sound is pretty good. The hits you can here very well and when a player is hit into the boards hard you know it. The announcers aren't too bad but should have had some more sayings and incite to keep them interesting. But you have a very wide range of nicknames to choose from for you players and your teams which is a plus.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Nascar Thunder 2002
Overall: This was one of the first Xbox games I played and it's great. I think visually today it isn't the greatest but it is still pretty impressive. The tracks are all accurate as the should be and the create a car for career is very good as well. I played some of the Nascar games after this one and even though they were newer, they did not stack up to it at all like they should of.
Gameplay: Gamerplay is great. The game has a lot of detail put into the driving aspect which is good. You really learn a lot about the right lines to take, when to accelerate, how much to break, etc. in order to stay with the leaders and be the best.
Graphics: Visually it could have been better but it was a 2002 game and still was impressive. The crashes are well done, the smoke and dents look very nice, the create a car gives you a lot of choices, the time of day really affects you and looks great ie. sun in eyes, lights shining off car at night looks great. I think visually this game was great.
Audio: It sounds very nice. With the volume way up you get such a great racing feeling with the engines going and cars passing you. I think a bit more detail could have gone into the skidding and such to give the game a little more but still it was great.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Magic The Gathering : Battlegrounds
Overall: Overall this was a pretty good game. It was nothing like the card game it was based upon and that was good because it would have been way too boring otherwise. This isn't the kinda game you can play non stop like Halo though. It's more of a once in awhile type game which isn't bad to have in a collection. If you like strategy and aren't all about crazy action all the time this is a pretty good game in my opinion. But definately rent before buying because it isn't a game for everyone.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very good. The controls are simple. There is a lot of strategy involved and it is key to pay attention to everything that is going on. You can't just do the same tactic non stop because it won't work against everyone. One creature which came through DC was very cheap and almost impossible to beat which really hurt the game because everyone would use it. This was the only real downfall to me. But, making a very powerful deck was a challenge which was good. It wasn't the case where putting the strongest cards in a deck could make you win everytime. A deck with very weak creatures, if used properly, could be a huge threat.
Graphics: Visually this game is extremely smooth I think. The creatures in it look very good and the characters you can choose from each look very individual. The game's colors are very eye catching as well and the arenas/environments which you battle in are very well done.
Audio: The voices get repetetive after some time but what do you expect when you're casting certain spells. However, each characters voice is very different and they aren't monotone which is nice.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Metal Slug 3
Overall: Come on people it's Metal Slug. This game is too fun. Running and shooting like crazy non-stop? You can't go wrong with it. Yes this may be identical to Metal slugs on other systems but you can't do much to alter a game that's been out forever. You gotta keep it the same.
Gameplay: Metal Slug at its finest. One button shoot, one throw, one jump. Simple, direct, and lotads of fun. This game is purely gameplay based and it's very well done.
Graphics: Visually it's great. Keeps the traditional 2D Metal Slug look and mixes mindless killing with a nice cartoony look to make it innocent.
Audio: Again simple sounds, goofy voices, and the awesome stabbing sound effects lol. The game was made for fun and the goofyness of the sounds adds to that.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Overall: Overall it's a great game. It really gives you the feeling of the gameplay you had back in the day playing 2D games. It would have been nice if every megaman game ever (ie.megaman x, 3d) was included in this but I understand that will be a seperated anniversary realease. But this game achieves exactly what it was meant to.
Gameplay: Controls are easy and the gameplay is exactly like the game was back in the day. They really recreated the childhood feeling with this game.
Graphics: The game looks identical only a little crisper than all the original games it has in it. There isn't much the could do since they weren't making a whole new game.
Audio: Sound is perfect. Every little thing the old games had this one has. All that could be done was mimick the older versions sounds and it's done perfectly in this.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Overall: Overall it looked great but it was basically the exact same game as before with a few additions. The glitching, like I knew, would never stop and on the first day of its release every room I went in had people running around looking for more. It's a nice game but Splinter Cell is pretty much at its peak to me and there isn't enough to keep me coming back for the next release.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty good. I very much enjoyed the co-op and all the ways you had to work together to accomplish your goal. The addition of the choice to be 100% stealthy, all out kill, or a combination was fun but it became too easy to just run up and kill people. Even when you'd pick the combination it became an instinct to panic and run up and stab the guy because you know not too many guards would follow.
Graphics: Visually the game looks amazing. The co-op however is not as stunning as the single player which is too bad. But, it still looks impressive. However, although it looks amazing it still wasn't THAT much of an improvement from past Splinter Cells.
Audio: Sound is great as always with the Splinter Cell games. There isn't much that could be done to improve on that except the !&%$@#* voices of the terrorists. They always sound the same through all of the games with that same dumb accent.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom
Overall: Overall this isn't the worst game ever but it isn't what it was hyped to be. The look and sounds are very outdated (but they wanted this) but as well the look is more real than any fighter of this style which makes it kind of cool. This game was a step in a different direction for the street fighter/SNK style game and I don't think it paid off. Not the best fighter but it was very unique and the gameplay and character designs brings it up.
Gameplay: Gameplay is not too bad. If anything this game is purely based on its gameplay and was not looking to keep players through its sounds and graphics. The fighting techniques are not like the normal fighting games and has some neat aspects to it which adds to the games uniqeness. It can be pretty fun at times and the new characters added is good because it isn't the same old moves as always.
Graphics: Visually not the best. I know they were trying to go back to more of a King of the Fighters look but it just doesn't work in this time. It is a unique look because the kind of upgraded the look but still it just isn't the best. The characters look pretty cool because they look more real than usual and the new characters ie. Zero add to the game but the super moves look very 90s like.
Audio: Sounds are typical Capcom/SNK sound effects for fighters but again it sounds very out dated. The moves and old music during intro scenes doesn't add much to the game except to its old feeling.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Dead or Alive Ultimate
Overall: Overall the game is good. I dont like how they eliminated some characters which were in DOA3. They should have added them to DOA2. But the game is an improvement from DOA3 overall but online the lag is TERRIBLE... which hurts the game a lot.
Gameplay: It's a good game. The story in the beginning is cool but i can't stand how short and dumb the final videos in this game are when you beat it. But the actual gameplay is good. Nice variation of moves, easy to control, lots of combos to learn, they made countering harded in this game which is VERY good. It was rediculously easy in DOA3 and very frustrating.
Graphics: Visually they really did improve the game from how good DOA3 looked. The environments are big for a fighting game and very well done. Theres tons of costumes in this game as well which is awesome to have.
Audio: Sounds very nice. The interactive sounds you can cause by damaging the environment is pretty neat and just adds that touch the game needs.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Need For Speed Underground 2
Overall: Overall this is the fastest and most exciting racer Ive played. Theres so much to the game and it's really fun to alter the look of each car and get the look you love.
Gameplay: The gameplay is cool in this game. It's got a decent story for a racer. You can tune everything in the car to really make it the fastest it can be so theres more to the game than just hittin the gas. Each car also has its own control to give even more variation to the game.
Graphics: Visually it's great. Gives a great feel of speed and the bright lights and night racing is unreal. The way the environment changes with how fast you go is quite impressive as well. Ontop of this all the visually alterations you can do to your cars is incredible.
Audio: It sounds amazing. Each car has its own distinct sound which is a nice change than the same old engine sound. The rain sounds great, when you shift it sounds great, and when you hit the brakes and skid it sounds great. Every sound in this game adds to the experience and you get a great feel for the speed youd be experiencing.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Halo 2
Overall: Overall a great game. Not much of an improvement over the original but they changed the game enough to make it better and still not be a totally different experience. The dual weapons is also just amazing. The best addition in the game.
Gameplay: The campaign mode is great. Multiplayer is also very good online but some gametypes chosen in ranked games are poor. For the most part the gameplay has improved and is awesome.
Graphics: This game looks awesome. It's an improvement over the original which is a great feat. However, in cinematics you notice at every scene how it goes from bad graphics to better ones. This game should not have that.
Audio: Sounds the same as Halo 1. No improvement really or a very slight bit. Thought itd be better but still is very good.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors
Overall: Overall this game was really boring. Had crappy gameplay and didnt even have good graphics to make up for it
Gameplay: Slow... very slow gameplay. Doesn't really take much skill to just tap a couple buttons and jump around. Was neat to have unlimited abilities but wasn't enough. It was cool how you could smash anything in site though.
Graphics: Visually it was hurtin. The characters were designed nicely but the graphics looked like somethin PS1 would produce.
Audio: Meh... that's all i can say. Voice overs were decent but other than that there was nothing exciting.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Fable
Overall: Overall this was a great game. However it was nowhere near what i expected from a game that has been in the making for so many years. I think it is the best RPG on the Xbox but visually could have been much better and there could have been so many more quests and little games added to make Fable what it was expected to be. For a game so hyped it should have been more lengthy like the Final Fantasy series. Since this game wasnt online it needed to last a long time without being beaten to stay one of the best. It didnt though and the bosses were the easiest ive ever played.
Gameplay: Its a very fun game. Easy to control and you can interact with the characters very well. I found the game too easy though. It should have been much more of a challenge for how long it was in the making and should have been way longer.
Graphics: This site looks good but it really isnt as nice as i thought it would be. Theres glitches where the environment is all one solid color at times and it really seems like an older style game. But the environment is huge so this is something i really enjoy. Also i enjoy how what you do in the game affects how you look visually.
Audio: Sounds pretty good. Voice overs are done well in this game. I would have liked the screams and battle noises to be more realistic and exciting.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Guilty Gear X2 Reload
Overall: This game is awesome. If youre a fan of fighting games then this is a must have. Xbox lacks online fighters but they did a great job with this one. Id still like to see a player get a win if someone drops but its nice to see they are getting punished a bit at least. Xbox is bringin the best fighters from the arcade to the home console and its a great move. And a bonus is since the game is older, it is cheaper even though its great.
Gameplay: The gameplay is awesome. Any combos you have seen done anywhere are possible on this game. Lag is a bit of a factor in the game. It can kill the gameplay online but this game is a huge improvement online from past online games. Its the best online fighter for lag ive seen. The game has many game modes in it that help introduce you to all of the characters.
Graphics: This game is one of the best looking 2D fighting games to hit arcades and to have it come to Xbox and look the exact same is amazing. It looks incredible. Of course it doesnt use the Xbox's full capabilities but the original game never did.
Audio: It sounds just like it does in arcades. Nothing was left out of this game when brought to the home console.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 NHL 2005
Overall: Overall i think this game was great. A huge improvement from last years game control wise and visually it is the best hockey game i have ever seen on any system. Online the game is very well done as well with only a slight bit of lag from time to time. I love the free 4 all game type and the world cup addition. I wish there had been a few more mini games in NHL 2005. But overall this is still the best realistic hockey game i have ever played.
Gameplay: Very nice gameplay. I like how the slapshot and wrist shots have been seperated to 2 different buttons. The passing in the game is a big improvement from last years game and makes the game much more enjoyable. What i disliked about this game was the computer players on your team not being able to keep up with you and enter the zone in a 2 on 1 for example. If you were on a clear 2 on 1 your computer teamate would stop at the blue line and wait. This really hurt the gameplay. As well it seemed to easy to score on yourself when passing the puck from the goalie. At minimum, once a game when passing the puck out it would hit one of your own players and go back in the net. This would ruin the game for me over and over and make me so mad i wouldnt want to finish the game.
Graphics: This game looks amazing. The player and coaches faces are unbeliebably accurate. Along with the beautiful rink and how real the players move in the game, this game has a very real game experience. Above and beyond everything visually in this game is easily the hits. EA has done them beautifully and it just gave the game a little extra.
Audio: The sounds of the hits, shotsm stick checks, body checks, crowd, and puck hitting the boards is just awesome. Sounds just like real life. The announcers in the game are a bit outdated and sound the same as in games from years past.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 SRS: Street Racing Syndicate
Overall: Overall i hate this game. it says 40 cars to choose from but there is 5 of the same car. So there is only about 10 cars in the game which are different. And they are all not equal. Slight differences in cars i don't mind but there is one car (Skyline) which is far far above the rest and the only fast playable car which will cause everyone online to use the exact same car. There are fast cars but not as fast and the control is outrageous. Also, the big part of this game is customizing your car and there is almost nothing visually that you are able to do. This is a terrible game and can be beaten in 2 days only.
Gameplay: Terrible gameplay. One car can be controlled at high speeds while the rest are nearly impossible to compete with. In manual the gears on the control are beside eachother instead of ontop of one another which can be confusing at times and i see no point in why they would do that. Online it is ok with no lag but the pink slip aspect of the game is pointless when people use memory packs and have no fear of losing their cars. So, that being the big new online game mode is really irrelevant.
Graphics: Visually it looks decent. Nice environment and cars are fairly smooth. But, you can't personalize ANYTHING on the car except the rims, color, and can select from maybe 10 vinals for the car. There is only one bodykit for each car which is pathetic as compared to Need for Speed Underground
Audio: Sound is pretty. You can hear the speed created by passing cars and the nos they burn. But it still isnt enough to really add to the excitement of the game like some of the other new racing games have.
Overall Score: 2.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow
Overall: Overall it's basically the same game. Spawn camping is possible in this one which is very disappointing. But, more game modes is good to see and the clan aspect with voice messaging is great.
Gameplay: Great new game modes. I don't just play survival mode like i used to. Still have some glitches to fix but they did improve a lot from the first RS3.
Graphics: Looks slightly better than the original. Nice environments and new uniforms was a nice touch. Now in some levels both teams blend in while it used to be onme team that stood out.
Audio: I think they improved the sound on this game a little bit which makes it better. But it's basically the same.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Spider-Man 2
Overall: Overall this game is much better than the first. The creaters did an amazing job on the web swinging which is the obvious reason people want to play as Spiderman. But I think they concentrated on it too much and hoped it would be enough to keep the gamers playing without improving on the actual gameplay.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty shady. You basically do the same challenges over and over and over. This makes the gameplay pretty boring after you do each challange once.
Graphics: Visually this game isnt that spectacular. The city is very vast and impressive in that sense but the people and buildings look more like PS1 graphics than what the XBOX is capable of.
Audio: The voice overs in this game are pretty bad i gotta say. However, the sounds of the webs shooting from Spidey and the fact that when you are going very fast or falling from a tall building you are able to hear the wind is a good touch and adds to the realness.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Full Spectrum Warrior
Overall: Pretty good game which is unlike any other ive seen on the Xbox. But i think the co-op will get too repetative over time and the game will lose its taste fast. Things arent fun when you know where everything will be everytime.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty cool. Ilike the new concept for gameplay style they have. But I wish the online play was not just co-op. Deathmatch in some form would be much better.
Graphics: The environment where the battles took place were very well designed and went well with the feeling you get for the Wars going on today. But i wish the environment was more interactive like with being able to go inside more buildings instead of being totally restricted to the streets.
Audio: The sounds were great in this game. The explosions and gun fire was very realistic and doesnt leave much room for improvement.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Midway Arcade Treasures
Overall: It's a good game that really gets back and gives credit to the games which led to what we have today. Good to see theyre being remembered.
Gameplay: The gameplay is good. REALLY simple controls that stick with the originals. Would be nice with a joystick but still its good.
Graphics: Visually it sticks with all the old styles of each game and slightly improves them which is a nice touch.
Audio: Its got aaaall the old crappy sounds in it that the originals did. So it sucked because the old sounds sucked but thats what they were tryin to achieve so it was good that they got it.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Need for Speed Underground
Overall: Overall this is the best racing game ive ever played. Its much more exciting than PGR series and is the best game yet which enables you to mod your own car.An unreal game in my opinion.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. You really need to work to earn everything in the game and the underground mode makes you master more skills than simply driving.
Graphics: Visually spectacular. Nice smooth graphics with a look ive never seen before. Great effects to add to the feel of the real speed being represented.
Audio: This by far has the best and most exciting sounds in a racing game that ive played. It really adds to the gameplay and represents the import racing world well.
Suggestions: Finally you get the hint!! Keep this kinda game comming and i wont stop buying.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
Overall: This game is awesome. It has so many little additions like coughing when you walk through flour. I thought it was a huge improvement from past metal gear games.
Gameplay: This game is great. Needs stealth but still has the shoot em up excitement to it. Easy controls and great CPU intelligence.
Graphics: Visually pretty solid. The characters still have the tradional metal gear look which im happy to see. Cinematics could be a little better though.
Audio: Sound is pretty good in this game. Sounds pretty similar to all the past metal gears for PC and playstation. So if youve played those you know what to expect.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Enter the Matrix
Overall: Overall its an ok game. its not a buyer at all but its cool because it shows things from the Matrix 2 that went on but we didnt see.
Gameplay: Kinda the same idea as Max Payne but thats what the Matrix was about but since ive seen it before i was impressed. Some improvements but not enough to be a buyer.
Graphics: Visually it was ok. Kind of square look to the characters but i like the way parts of the movie were incorporated into the game.
Audio: Sound was good. I like how when you would slow down, the sound would as well. That was the best sound feature in the game but again its been seen before.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Enclave
Overall: Overall pretty interesting game. Different than what i usually see or play but im still very disappointed with how it doesnt show what Xbox can do.
Gameplay: Gameplay is neat. Going through the game as each character available was good because too many people beat it with one and thats it.
Graphics: The look wasnt too great in this game. Not the smoothest looking but the environment went well with the game. Nowhere near the capabilities of Xbox.
Audio: Sound is alright i guess. Didnt add to the game a whole lot but it had basically all the game needed.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Overall: Overall i wasnt happy with this game at all. It looked like a playstation game and the difficulty levels didnt seem to match the difficulty of the game. No improvements over the other LOTR games.
Gameplay: Gameplay was good. Lots of action and the controls were simple. Didnt like the fight against Golum. It was nothing like his character in the movie could do.
Graphics: Visually ok i guess. The faces were pretty similar but the graphics didnt seem very smooth to me at all.
Audio: Not bad sound. Had everything i expected the game to have and it added to the chaos in battle fairly well.
Overall Score: 5.0 / 10 Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
Overall: Overall its a very well designed game. Not too much excitement in it though but its ok i think. Needs some more to it though to make it last. But good for a snowboarding game and nice to see its not crazy overly outrageous with the stuff you can pull off.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty good. Some things you need to do are pretty tough but the challenge is good. Its the kinda game you dont play to win but more just to mess around and pukk stuff off. But it works in this case.
Graphics: Visually its hands down the best snowboarding game ive ever played. Very smooth graphics and an amazing looking environment.
Audio: Sound is nice. Very calm like if you were erally snowboarding and can here the character carving through the snow.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Overall: Overall this was a great game to bring out for Xbox on launch. Showed the potential the Xbox had and how the games wouldnt be your average type.
Gameplay: Great gameplay. Controls were simple and the various characters needed to be used was nice. Kind of wish the game had been longer.
Graphics: Very nicely designed game. Very smooth graphics and interesting and dynamic characters and environment.
Audio: Good sounds i think. Suited the game well and you gotta love the main characters voices. Every sound worked well and added to the games uniqness.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tony Hawk's Underground
Overall: Im very happy with this game. Tony Hawk 4 turned me away from this game because i was so disappointed but this made up for it. BUT, im still mad it isnt online.
Gameplay: Just like the other Tony Hawk games but with some new added things like climbing. Is more realistic and i like the street environments a lot.
Graphics: Pretty good looking game i think. A little better than past Tony Hawk games so im happy. But still think the create a skater needs improvment.
Audio: Basic skateboarding game sounds. Everything that has been in past games was in this one. No real improvment there but what more can they add really.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Top Spin Tennis
Overall: Overall i liked this game a lot. But the create a character feature was too easy to aquire your characters stats. And since this is such a big part of the game it loses a lot of value.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty good. Close games are very intense and fun to play. It's basically as good as a tennis game could be. But the online is lacking a little.
Graphics: Visually i think its great. By far the best looking tennis game ive seen on a home console. Very smooth.
Audio: The sounds great. The crowds cheers, the players grunts and the sound of how strong the ball is being hit is very good.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 MotoGP 2
Overall: Overall i have to give it a perfect score because it is just such a great racing game. Even the subtle changes from the first one make it put it to shame.
Gameplay: Very fun game. But really hard to beat on the highest level in order to perfect youre bike and compete online. But still the challenge is great.
Graphics: Visually spectacular. By far the best motorcycle game ive ever played. Every aspect of the game visually is perfect.
Audio: Sound is great. Wish you could hear the crowd at times but its not like youd hear it in real life anyways.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
Overall: Very nice looking game without a doubt but it needs more depth. The way it is, it is basically just a visual aid to the pathetic guys out there. HAHA
Gameplay: Um... play a game... buy suits... but you dont ever really win anything. Just play and play and play. Kinda loses interest after awhile.
Graphics: Visually its flat out one of the greatest looking games ive ever played. No complaints at all about that.
Audio: Sounds good i guess. Not much you need to add sound for really. But uh... the waves in the water are nice.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder
Overall: Pretty good. Too many glitches and its sad seeing that the spawn killer problem wasnt solved. Could have been a lot better from the first.
Gameplay: Gameplay is ok. The first one has a much better single player mode though. But i use it for online mostly so i dont care.
Graphics: Visually its kind of choppy in places but still a pretty good looking game. Lots of aspects to the surroundings.
Audio: Sound is alright. Nothing to dynamic in it but the basics are covered fairly well. Gun shots arnt too distinctive though.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Overall: I think this is better than Tony Hawk 4 by far. I love this game and still play it even though live games are dominating.
Gameplay: Fun game. You can get some sick scores at certain levels. Enjoy playing this game a lot. Dont think ill get sick of it. Its just that type of game.
Graphics: Could be better with the power of the Xbox i think but it sticks with the traditional Tony Hawk look for games so i like it.
Audio: Sounds sweet. Hear grinds and difference when riding on different surfaces. So its got all it needs.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4
Overall: I hate this game. Gimme a break. I cant believe Tony Hawk 4 managed to be worse than the third one. What a disappointment.
Gameplay: Okay i guess but not great. The game needs something new in it to keep people playing it. The creating guys and earning the same old stuff is gettin old.
Graphics: This game had a weird look to it. Not like the Tony Hawk games before it. I didnt really like it much.
Audio: Sound was alright. Nothing new in it except the animals at the zoo pretty much. So no improvements makes it lose points.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Whacked!
Overall: THIS IS NOT A FIGHTING GAME!! This is a kids smash stuff game. Everything in it made me get annoyed and pissed off. I HATE THIS GAME!!
Gameplay: Fun game for about an hour. Then it just gets old. You can only jump on people and smash them so much before you wanna throw this game against the wall.
Graphics: Visually its good considering the style of game it is. And the cinematics look sweet to. So not much to complain about.
Audio: Sound is crazy. Lots goin on in the game and the sounds add to the chaos its trying to make the player feel.
Overall Score: 2.0 / 10 NBA 2K2
Overall: Its okay. I traded mine in though cause overall it wasnt a good enough game to keep. Didnt have that special thing it needed.
Gameplay: Pretty good basketball game. I hate basketball but i liked playin this for a bit. Just because the close games were intense but its like that for all games.
Graphics: Visually ok. Kind of square players though and i saw a few hands go right through the rim. so its losin big points for that.
Audio: Sounds good. you hear everything you should in a basketball game. Except the trash talkin. Thatd be sweet.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Overall: This game is one of the best ive seen of its kind in a very longs time. I wouldnt recommend buying it as me and my brother beat it in the 3 days we had it rented for. But it is a perfect renting game
Gameplay: Very fun game to play. Action and you have to solve ways of getting around the level which is an element games lack today. Theyre all just mindless fighting but this is more. And the anti-gravity element is a nice touch as well.
Graphics: This game is visually amazing. It looks like youre in a dream almost which suits the storyline. The cinematics are unreal as well.
Audio: The sounds are very good in this game. I have no complaints about it at all. Swords hitting eachother and the boxes breaking are nice.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Overall: It's pretty sad id take a SNES ninja turtle game over an xbox one but i would. Disappointing game. Made it too much for little kids and not people who grew up with them.
Gameplay: It was good. Didn't like how in game only the 2 player could switch characters though. And didnt like the fact that you couldnt block in the game.
Graphics: The cell shaded style was cool. Stuck with the pure cartoon style like it should have but i like the way the old turtles game on SNES looked though. Cartoony but not overly bright. So im takin off points for that.
Audio: Sayin the same stuff over... and over... aaaand over. Gets annoying when they comment on every single move they make. Again i prefer the old sounds in SNES.
Overall Score: 4.0 / 10 Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Overall: Awesome game. Happy to see Xbox finally released a 2D fighting game with such great gameplay value which appeals to those who enjoy this style game. Fast paced and intense fighting game. love it.
Gameplay: Great gameplay. High paced action becomes very addicting and the drive to becoming a pro at the game to. Lots of fun to play.
Graphics: Visuals could use work but it is identical to the arcade graphics. But still some things could have been smoothed out to make the game even better.
Audio: Typical sounds for this style of game. No gliches in it at all and the music did not cut out at times like in Capcom vs. SNK 2:EO which is much appreciated.
Suggestions: Hope it isn't true about this being one of the last 2D fighting games. 3D games are completely different and it just wouldn't be the same without this type of game.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Capcom vs. SNK 2: EO
Overall: Good game. More of the traditional style street fighter game with a bit of new age style because of the "grooves" it has. Lots of variety and very fun.
Gameplay: Very fun and addicting game. Fast with the possibility to be creative with combos and become able to dominate opponents. Very good game.
Graphics: Looks nice, great backgrounds, and very smooth. Although i would have liked to see it more like the Street Fighter 3:3rd Strike style with the waving costumes and such.
Audio: the music is alright, the sound effects when you make contact is good but the music can cut out many times through out the game. This is where it loses points. It is very annoying.
Suggestions: none
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3
Overall: This game is unreal. It's got everything i expected it to have and is just a very well made game. Game of the year baby!!
Gameplay: It's got the gameplay that i wished Splinter Cell had. The stealth factor is there with some action when necessary.
Graphics: Visually incredible. Very realistic environment and the guns alone are unreal. Awseome looking and so smooth.
Audio: The sound is sweet. Kinda hard at times to tell whether a gun is being shot right beside you or if it's somewhere else. But still very good.
Suggestions: This is the kinda game Xbox needs for a great reputation!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Fuzion Frenzy
Overall: Overall 5 cause i wanted it to have more games. It had lots but i'm greedy and wanted more. But good game still.
Gameplay: I like this game a lot. Like Mario Party in a way but more futuristic and exciting. Not bad for Xbox's first crack at this kinda game.
Graphics: Visually it's good but there really isn't a lot of detail in the game. Smooth designs though and interesting environments.
Audio: Haven't played this for awhile now so i can't really remember the sounds too well. But for the most part it suited the game well. Not too amazing though.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Outlaw Golf
Overall: Overall i give it a 4.5 because it is a good spin on a golf game and has a good twist on the controls you use. But golf fames arn't my thing so it loses points there.
Gameplay: I thought this game was really fun if you wanna play a golf game that isn't traditional. And i really like how you use the joystick to hit the ball. It's like golf games in bars where you need a steady hand.
Graphics: Nice looking game. Very crisp looking surroundings and a good spin on the character designs for a golf game.
Audio: It's got perfect sounds for this different style of golf game. Not much more a golf game could have.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Kung Fu Chaos
Overall: Overall it's fun and is the Smash Bros. for Xbox. And like Smash Bros. its only good with friends so that's where this game lacks.
Gameplay: It's a fun game to play wit buddies once and a while but doesn't really have the greatness to be a fun game to play on your own.
Graphics: It's visually very well done. Smooth graphics and the the cheap looking background for the movie in the game is perfect.
Audio: It's got goofy and unrealistic sounds but it suits the game perfectly so i'm givin it a perfect score.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 NFL Blitz 2003
Overall: What can ya say really. For what the developers were goin for they got. A football game with all the big hits people want. Fun game. But i am there wasn't more dynamic advancements considering how long it's been since the original came out.
Gameplay: Just like the Blitz games that were made before. Simple and exciting. It's very exciting if you have good competition.
Graphics: Visually could be less square. You can still have big disproportioned players with rounded off features.
Audio: Big hits, hard passes, and hard stiff arms. You hear it all in this perfect kind of arcade style football game.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Soul Calibur 2
Overall: Great game with awesome action and looks great but is kind of a button masher game and without XBL it's value really goes down with me
Gameplay: The gameplay is unreal. But the ability to mash buttons takes away a bit. Plus i love the gameplay of 2d fighting games but this is easily my favorite 3d one made yet.
Graphics: The character designs, environment, and the movement in this game easily top all the other fighting games xbox has brought out.
Audio: Just plain great sounds. If all this was actually possible in real life it'd sound just the same and it really adds to the games excitment.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Dead or Alive 3
Overall: Overall i'd say this is a good game for Xbox to first bring out but it can't compare to the newer games which are xbl compatible and take a very high amount of skill to master.
Gameplay: Gameplay is good for a 3D fighter but its overly simple combos make it easy for a beginner to seem good and the game basically doesn't take much skill.
Graphics: Visually beautiful. The interaction between the characters actions and the environment is perfect and the surroundings are very nice.
Audio: Sound is pretty good in this game. I don't really pay attention to it because it isn't very exciting but it does suite the game well.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 ESPN NHL Hockey 2K4
Overall: Overall i give it a 4.5 because of the gameplay which it lacks. But if i was looking for a hockey game which is the most realistic this would be my first pick.
Gameplay: Although this game is visually spectacular, i think the developers tried to make it too realistic and this is where it loses some gameplay value. ex. it's very difficult at times to hit players.
Graphics: Visually this game is among the top for representing real life accurately. Some of the faces don't really look like the players and the bodies look kind of odd but other than that it's very accurate.
Audio: The sounds in this game match a real life game very well and gives a great feel as if you're watching an actual game.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
Overall: Overall this game is visually amazing and fun to play online. I dislike how online you can't see who is talking and i would only buy this for the online play personally, so that is a drawback for me.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great in this game. Lots of action with the dogfighting but i got bored of doing basically the same stuff over and over at different levels.
Graphics: The visuals for this game are simply amazing. The mountains, buildings, planes, smoke, and water is perfect and ontop of it it has unreal cinematics to go with it.
Audio: There's not too many sounds that i actually notice in the game because all there is basically is planes and shooting. But thats all you can have in a plane game and it is very realisitic.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Overall: Great game. Love the partial RPG style and partial adventure style. Made it feel a lot less boring than a normal RPG game and is by far the best Star Wars based game i've ever played.
Gameplay: Very fun game to play. Couldn't have asked for much more and was way above the expectations i had for it.
Graphics: Good for the most part. Big environment but could have been a little smoother in some parts of the game.
Audio: Good Star Wars sound effects. Would have been nice to have your character actually talk rather than just make some barely noticable facial expressions.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
