I have played all of the fighting games made for XBOX with the exception of Kakuto Chojin. I loved DOA hear me now, so it would take a lot for me to consider to play another fighting game on the Box. MK is good but it's not that good."

Description

Although this series was one of the most maligned of all fighting franchises several years back, it's impossible to deny the huge following that it enjoyed. That's why it's so important that Midway has announced that the series is coming back, completely revamped with 3D graphics and gameplay (something that has been entirely missing from any other game in the Mortal Kombat series). For those of you who stay up nights worrying about these kinds of things, we're sure that the blood-stained cartoon-gore violence that helped make this game popular in the first place will be back.

Overall: This MK has some new things to it, and it doesn't give it the classic MK theme but it is still enjoyable. Fight with over 20 new and classic warriors with an all-new MK fighting system. Enjoy the hand-to-hand, and weapon combats that are allowed. If you like finishers, they are awesome. They aren't the easiest part of the game, but they can still be done.
Gameplay: Gameplay is like any other, basically. Fight to win new characters. Enjoy the new fatalities MK: Deadly Alliance has to offer. My own downside is that the finisher moves aren't that easy to do, which can be good or bad.
Graphics: Graphics are ok, better than some previous MK games. I feel the graphics could be outstanding however, and don't see why they don't use it. Would bring this game to a whole new step.
Sound: "Finish him." is still there, which just reminds you of the old Mortal Kombat games. Weapons, guys screaming, and other sounds are great.

Overall: Mortal Kombat is one of the best fighting game franchises but they let me down with this one. There are 21 players to chose from which is bigger than previous titles.
Gameplay: When you start out you only have 11 players to chose from. To get more you can play arcade or konquest modes to get coins so you can go into the krypt and buy a coffin, however it could be a photo, video, character or nothing in the coffin. The combo moves should be easier to do, most of the time I was just lucky to do a 3 hit combo move.
Graphics: The graphics are not bad, but they weren't to Xbox standards. The environments have some destructive parts but there should have been more. The finishing moves are awesome, however they are way to hard to do.
Sound: The sound is like any other MK game, the voice of the guy that says finish him sounds the same as all the other versions. The punch sounds are good.

Overall: Even we are in lack of fighting games, Acclaim just make us happy with this one. Some combattants are back with some new ones make it first appearance in the bloody tournement.If you are tired with DOA3, then get this one just for the fatalities. :)
Gameplay: There are many modes you can choose when you create your profil. There are the classic one, deal with everyone in a combat ladder until you reach the final boss which is in the mold of the series from the beginning. Each fighter has three fighting styles and at least one fatality. The tetris mode with updated stuffs a la MK, is a also a great game. You can play with your friends or a CPU opponent. The conquest mode let you play with the character Shurinko, about his story. The krypt room has more stuffs to unlock now.
Graphics: The visual is better than previous versions. But as i looked at it, something not right about the engine. When you got a combo, it's seems that your character is stun for at least around 2 secs which it's frustrated a little bit. The backgrounds are very detailed and it's also multi-stages which is better for a knock-off.
Sound: The music is great and the voice of the announcer when you choose a character, win flawlessly, do a fatality, etc is really get you in the MK fashion.

Overall: Overall... GO BACK TO 2D!! Mortal Kombat is not a 3D fighter at all. It can't compete with Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc. It doesn't suit the style at all and is just boring in 3D. The last good Mortal Kombat in my opinion was MK3 Ultimate.
Gameplay: Gameplay is meh not good I don't think. It seems slow and the different styles don't add much to it. I really couldn't stand playing this game.
Graphics: The game looks really nice with a lot of detail put into the characters I have to admit. The environments look good as well. But, still the game could be a little smoother around the edges.
Sound: Mortal Kombat always had corny voice overs and such so I can't complain really with this. The voices weren't good but they kind of got away from their tradition and seemed to try and make it really serious sounding.
Suggestions: GO BACK TO 2D!! Graphics aren't what makes a game. The gameplay is what makes it enjoyable and this is not.

Overall: The Mortal Kombat series has been the biggest fighting game since the Nintendo. Its known for its brutal attacks and stunning charactor models. Up through Mortal Kombat 3 the games have been 2D. Once Mortal Kombat 4 came along the game was changed. It was in 3D. Soon after came Mortal Kombat deadly alliance. MK:DA puts the B in brutal. It is the best looking fighting game around and still has its deadly fatalaties.
Gameplay: The gameplay controls are set up very well in MK:DA. It gives me the feel of playing the original MK game again.
Graphics: The graphics in MK:DA are amazing but could be improved. The charactors are highly detailed. Charactors like Sub-Zero is down to the last scar.
Sound: The sound in MK:DA is good but could be a lot better. It could support the custimized soundtrack but it doesnt.
Suggestions: A customized soundtrack ability would be a welcome addition.

Overall: My first Mortal Kombat game but got this quite awhile ago and never play it anymore but thought i would do a reveiw. The graphics and especially the character models were pretty good, the sound was good erie and painful etc. Then the gameplay which was pretty good but felt arcadish but hey it is mortal kombat which came from arcades.
Gameplay: I liked the blood action etc it was all pretty good, pretty fast loved teh fighting styles and weapons but i am not teh best at this game so i found it pretty hard. Again great job.
Graphics: The graphics were good but not spectacular or anything but the best was of course teh blood and character models. But i think the gore such as the skulls getting pulled out should actually be the size of the head they came out of and when the body get crumbled there would be more bones and stuff. But then again if it was too real it would be freakish.
Sound: I liked teh sound of teh voices, erie serious music and effects it was all pretty good nothing wrong with it so i give it a good 4.5.
Suggestions: Well you guys know what you are doing all i say is maybe more fighting levels and more indept kinda story and mission stuff like soul calibur but don't completely copy it. The graphics, sound it was all pretty good. Make more or real gore etc. All i have to say were the movies were pitiful. My only real complaint.

Gameplay: Nothing but awsome. I really love the blood fighting games, (had MK1-4 for genisis) :P Great Game, cant find anything wrong with it, and its great to fight and earn riches :P
Graphics: Top of the line. You can actually see the blood flow, the moves done right, its like theres Life in the graphics.
Sound: Never had a time where, the two opponents just stared at each other, and the music stoped, no it went perfectly with the game!

Overall: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Aliance is one of the best/bloodiest fighting games out there. its fast fun action. if you liked any of the ones before or just like fighting games this is a MUST but.
Gameplay: plenty of combos & special moves for every fighter. learning the best ones is your key to sucess. the fatalties are fun to watch & you def wont stop playing the game till uve seen them all.

Overall: If you like fighting games this ones the shiznat. Mortal Combat shall live on. Really fun doesnt tire too fast.
Gameplay: Unlike most fighting games in this one you can fight in different styles and you can also use weapons which is cool. Levels are cool too.
Graphics: Graphics are pretty good. Not hte best but good. Levels could have more enteractive environments but good.
Sound: Uhhh this is a game that sound didnt attract my attention which isnt good or bad cuz obviusly I didnt hate it but it wasnt outstanding.

Overall: This is one of the most entertaining fighting games I've ever played. Whatever the previous Mortal Kombat games had done wrong, were fixed by Deadly Alliance. My personal favorite in the series. Let me remind you that with the new Krypt, the replayability that most fighting games lacked is gone.
Gameplay: The gameplay is good. Instead of the classic high punch, low punch, high kick and low kick of the classic Mortal Kombat games, and replaces them with a new fighting style system. Each fighter has different attacks for each button. That means that not every character has an uppercut, for example. The weapon system which was poorly implemented on MK4 is back, and better than ever.
Graphics: The graphics are nice, textures are detailed, and the animations are smooth. There is VERY little slowdown.
Sound: The sound needs some work in some areas, but on other parts, it's great. It's realistic, but at some points, the fighters' sounds are annoying.
Suggestions: Keep working well. You're doing a great job.

Overall: Well this game has mnay characters and many different moves. You pick your character and start to fight. You have 3 fighting styles, two normal and one with a weapon. You fight you win/lose (obviouly). This game get SOOOO boring playing the same stuff over and over again. The graphics are amazing and gameplay runs smoothly just it gets boring. Also the sound is kind of ehhh boring. I find many repetitions.
Gameplay: The controls are very easy to use and the modes are great. But it does get boring again....The only thing that keeps players playing is the 600+ unlockable characters/items. This is amazing but can be frustrating.
Graphics: The visuals are awsome! the blood, characters, weapons all of it is just sweet. The levels are really good to with fat buddha things spitting acid. Kinda weird but looks cool. Did a great job here!
Sound: It repeats over and over. But at first it is really cool. Everything is well done at first. Till it repeats. Speaks for itself.
Suggestions: Try again, you did a great job but I dont like fighting games much.

Overall: sigh, just like MK3, and 4. Sucks. I really liked MK 1&2, and well, Either I don't like Mortal Kombat anymore, or this series has went down the toilet, I'll go with #2.
Gameplay: It's a true 2-D game, that just cannot go over the 3-D hump. The controls arn't responsive, devastating combos are way to long, and due to the lack of response in control, are almost impossible to perform. It took me 30 min. to pull-off Raiden's final combo, oh! wait, I DIDN'T PULL IT OFF! My friends could tell you that I did everything right too. The Camera angles are your average deal on a 3-D fighter, and the levels are pretty cool. The Krypt is a great and stupid idea at the same time. Things like 'Cooking with Scorpion' were funny, and stupid things like useless collectable coins, made this a little useless. Great idea, just, In my opinion, poorly executed.
Graphics: Great visuals, cool how Sub-Zero's and Scorpions..uh..'flap' or whatever you want to call it move around with their movements. Amazing chracter detail, and awesome designed levels. Seems to me, that once again, visuals were all that went into this game.
Sound: I didn't pay any attention to the sound at all. I'm just typing stuff for 100 characters so it will let me enter it.
Suggestions: You remember that great game call Mortal Kombat 2? Yeah, well, Street Fighter is still 2-D, why don't you do us a favor, and stay 2-D as well?

Overall: Overall, its a great game. I dont need a hundred lines of the game summary when a dozen other people already have...
Gameplay: The gameplay for all fighters gets boring after a while, but Mortal Kombat has more depth to it with projectile attaks, special moves, etc. Some characters like Mavado just plain suck, and others are very tough.
Graphics: Sucks cause it had to be made for the obsolete ps2 also, meaning textures and lighting suck ass, but oh well. The background still look better than those in Tao feng.
Sound: Sound is fine. nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either.
Suggestions: Make it for the xbox first so we dont have to put up with second-rate visuals and system limitations.

Overall: It is good to have another Mortal Kombat, But the game was not as good as it should have been. I was hoping for more Fatalities then 1 per person and I was expecting at least 1 stage fatality. But over all I think it was above average
Gameplay: Good use of the multiple stances and I thought it was a good Idea, So of the moves were !&%$@#* near impossible but they were wonderful when they were pulled off.
Graphics: Great Graphics and I thought the use of facial damage was good. There were some glitches such as certain fatalities could have put together better.
Sound: Good Sound. I liked the use of stage noise such as the green spirts that screamed as they flew by. Awesome.
Suggestions: Good Job but it could have been better and I think you guys put to much time in the extras and not the game play. But it is still a great game.

Overall: If you are a fan of fighting games or the Mortal Kombat series then buy this game - Completeing Conquest Mode & Unlock will keep you busy for a while
Gameplay: Very easy to use - Conquest was great for learning how to fight - Had difficulty with combos that involved switching styles
Graphics: Those old Mortal Kombat characters look that much better - Not that best visual I have seen, but still pretty good - Also, experience an annoying lag when ice takes up the screen and is punched - Computer is able to get an extra punch in while ice is breaking - Just suprised found a game that had lag
Sound: Same old sounds - Background and fighting sounds are pretty cool - But nothing that spectacular here
Suggestions: More Fatalaties - More interaction with environment - Have a good thing going so don't get worse like you have in the past

Overall: Mortal Kombat was great in 2D Why are he changing it now? Look at Capcom vs SNK still good in 2D. Why did they change?
Gameplay: Controls weren't very responsive. That irritated me a whole lot. Combos were way way too long. otherwise it was fine.
Graphics: Boring enviroments. Fatalaties looked so bad they were almost laughable. character models got very boring also.
Sound: Good sound effects. Horrible soundtrack. One was good the other was horrible so they balance each other out.
Suggestions: Go back to 2D

Overall: The next installment in the exhausted Mortal Kombat series. Not worth buying, but if you steal it, maybe you won't be so pissed at yourself. When you see the tombs, you will understand.
Gameplay: The gameplay isn't too aweful. There are ALOT of things that could have been tweaked. The combo system is straight up horrible. They could learn alot from Dead or Alive.
Graphics: The graphics are probably the best part of the game. There's alot of blood, and all the character models look great.
Sound: No complaints in the sound department. They definetly could have done worse on the sound, but I can't say that I have anything to complain about with the sound.
Suggestions: Don't make another Mortal Kombat game. The series is dead. Leave the fighting genre up to the people that know what the hell there doing. Deadly Alliance doesn't come close to measuring up to Dead or Alive 3, and the way I look at it, is if you aren't going to make the best game possible, why make the game? Deadly Alliance is mediocre at best.

Overall: this game is the shiznet. I have always loved mortal kombat since I was a kid. I used to go to the local arcade with a bunch of my friends and have tournaments to see who was the best at mortal kombat. I am proud to say that I won most of these games. I think this game completely beats out the originals and is the best mortal kombat out yet.
Gameplay: The game is sweet. It is addicting but you want to keep playing and the game lasts for a long time.
Graphics: The graphics are insane. I am truly amazed at the quality of the graphics in this game. I love this game.
Sound: The sounds are off the hook. It seems so real as you are playing. These developers really outdid themselfs. Game of the year baby!

Overall: Out of all the Mortal Kombat games, this game probably looks the best out of all of them. The gameplay is great though it feels like they stripped a lot of tricks out of the game. The MK series has definitely matured over the years.
Gameplay: The option to move around and dodge attacks is definitely a bonus compared to the old MK days. However the story mode on this kind of sucks. (Compared with Soul Calibur II's story mode.) The fatality moves are easier to do now, but they really should have more. One for each character is not really enough. This was really the best part of the older games cause only the biggest fans in the old days could execute the good finishing moves.
Graphics: Visually, this game looks great. Compared to the older games, this game really has an edge over the originals. Unfortunately, the characters also look really fake compared with the originals. I guess you win some and you lose some with changing the game play.
Sound: The sounds in this game are pretty good. Nothing special about them makes me want to jump for joy for the review though.
Suggestions: More characters, more finishing moves, more interaction with the stages. Instead of playing catch-up with the other games, start-a-new and be the leader innovation again.

Overall: I have played every single mortal kombat game there is and this one takes the cake man. I mean this incorporates real fighting styles with great looks and a slick and cool feel to it.
Gameplay: Solid way of bringing in the new weapon styles, theyre brutal yet flawless with the details on the fighting techniques.
Graphics: Great visually, the graphics are the best ive seen for this type of game, and i love the way the blood flys out when you hit them and it stays on the ground..its just great.
Sound: The sound is not the best part of the game but it does help to add some realism to the devastating kicks and punches.
Suggestions: nope....give the characters more fatalities and have way more characters too....im sure with the power of the xbox it is possible to have way more characters to choose from

Overall: This is a great game. I was a big fan of Mortal Kombat when it first came out so its nice to be able to come back to some familiar characters. I love how it offers other things then just the straight Arcade mode. The Konquest mode is basically a training mode, but great for earning coins. Coins are what you use to buy Koffins in the kyrpt which will open up and reveal some reward. While it's normally old screenshots or drawings it can sometimes be new characters or new costumes. Other ways to earn coins include the button mashing test your might, and also test your sight. If you want hours of fun this is the one for you.
Gameplay: The actual fighting in the game is excellent. It offers the ability for every character to fight in their own martial arts style, but wait they also get another fighting style along with a weapon fighting option. Also included are some projectile shooting and various special moves. Blood and guts is a plenty here which you will find out after a long drawn out fight because the ground will be red all over. A new feature I love is that some characters can impale their weapon in the enemy and he will slowly lose life. Everyone's favorite, the Fatality is still here, but thats it, only one for each character so don't worry about all those weird thing from Mortal Kombat past.
Graphics: Its a great looking game. Sure its not life like Max Payne looking, but it works. The backgrounds look great if your fighting on a flying platform or rumbling in Shang Tsung's crib. All the Characters look very nice, and oh yeah the girls do offer some bouncing distractions if thats your cup of tea. Nothing earth shattering, but you shouldn't be complaining either.
Sound: To me this was the only low point, but I didn't hate it, just wasn't anything special. The music doesn't really bother me because i get lost in the action. The sound effects are decent, grunting and various martial arts sounds. It gets the job done is the best way I can put it.
Suggestions: Please stop with various stupid characters, You went crazy with the ninja rip offs a while back and would throw in the annoying dumb characters, we want cool people on the level of Johnny Cage and Sub-Zero. Also come on Reptile used to be cool now hes a lame lizard, if your gonna make him transform atleast make him monster looking and not like a big Iguana.

Overall: This game was pretty awesome. The konquest mode was a good learning device and the krypt made it even more of a reason to come back and play. The gore and violence are what makes this game cool and they came through on that part. Also for the most part the characters were detailed. The fighting styles also mixed things up. The story is also well progressed from the past titles.
Gameplay: The gameplay is incredible and it makes up for it in the detail of the gore. The 3D enviroments make it even funner to battlr it out with friends. Also the weapon fighting styles are the best and I love to impale my foes. The ending videos in the arcade modes could have been videos instead of pictures with a voice story line.
Graphics: The visuals were great and they put a lot of detail into not only the characters, but the arenas as well.
Sound: The sounds are good. Some of the voices like Cage and the ladies of MK get a little annoying. But the sounds during gameplay make the game more realistic.
Suggestions: Yes I would have liked to seen a lot more fatalities. MAybe they could have put them in the krypt to buy instead of comic book art. I think they could have made ending videos better and not so boring. There could have been more characters, but the ones that are in the game are awesome by themselves.

Overall: Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is an amazing game, plain and simple. The graphic abilities are brought to full life using the Xbox's Potential, and your times of fighting are kept entertaining while being able to earn
Gameplay: Once you play the game for at least 30 minutes, you will pick up the feel and controls very easily. Combo's may be a bit long, but if they weren't than you would use them constantly and the game would have no difficulty!
Graphics: Stunning, eye-stealing, out-os how one would describe the graphics! The fatalities are just AMAZING, and the characters look awesome! Gory blood splatters over, body parts fly, internal organs removed from where they once resided, total chaos explain through the eyes of stunning graphics!
Sound: In a fighting game, where your main objective is to fight, and the graphics are eye-stunning - would you really have a need for PERFECT sound? No! Within this game you get so focused ont he fights (due to the graphic's drawing you in) that music is unheard. Soundtrack is repetitive, but just mute it and play your own music in the background!
Suggestions: Add more characters. Include XBOX Live support so that players can fight each other(in a ladder sort of fashion possibly) and also allow massive battles!

Overall: All i have to say is that this game is truly the best Mortal combat game that there is. it is also the best fighting game for the xbox. the 3D graphics, the new special moves, and the courses all make this game a must-have hit. Not to mention, there is a new feature called the Krypt, where you can purchase secret characters, alternate chostumes, videos, and more with the currency you earn throughout the game. Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is just as good as everything else. the story plot is slightly more in-depth than the other games.The story in this game kicks off when Quan Chi, the netherrealm sorcerer finds his way back into outworld. there, he aligns with tshang sung, forming the deadly alliance. they both have a goal in mind each. Qaun chi kills people for Shang Tsung so that he can steal there soul. Shang tsung uses those souls to give himslef ever lasting life. With the remaining souls, Shang tsung brings back attempts to bring an entire army back from the dead for Quan Chi. so basicly, Shang Tsung wants ever lasting life, and Quan Chi wants military power. the controls are easy to learn and use. although you can't use the analog stick for this game, i would say that that is a good thing because it is much easier to perform moves and combos on the D-pad.
Graphics: The visual graphics in this game are amazing compared to other mortal combat games. in the courses, insetead of simply going back and forth and back and forth, you can sidestep, making the courses a alot larger. this game is alot more gory that the other games. ALOT MORE BLOOD. and the fatalities are extreme. its not even funny how much blood spews out when Shang Tsung performs his fatality, Soul Steal.
Sound: The musici n this game is good, but not as good as past mortal combat games because there is no backround music as you are fighing. but, the sound effects are very good. down to every punch and kick, you can hear the way the characters yell and grunt.
Suggestions: All i suggest for The developers for this amazing game, is that there are more characters to choose from. although i beleive there are 21 in all.

Overall: I'm a long time MK fan but had my doubts about new life being added to the franchise. I was pleasantly surprised that MKDA has the feel of old MK games but updated for the XBOX (and other systems). There are 3 fighting styles for each fighter, fighter tutorials (KONQUEST) and a fun KOIN earning system. The KOINs are used to unlock koffins which contain MK history, trivia, costumes, characters, or more Koins. My only "komplaint" is that a lot of the moves, combos and fatalities are so hard to pull off that you rely on luck as much as skill when trying to execute them. The game also includes videos of MK history and the making of MKDA. A nice overall package.
Gameplay: There are several modes of gameplay. Konquest teaches you the basics and some advanced moves of your chosen fighter, Arcade is a difficulty ladder where you advance by fighting harder opponents, there's a VS mode for two player action (which I didn't try), and a practice mode. IMHO, the arcade mode is the primary focus since it is closest to the original arcade MK machines play. There are interesting mini games, "test your might" (a button mash contest) and "test your sight" (a follow the "ball" in the cup contest) between every few fights. They give you more Koins to spend in the Krypt. The Krypt is huge so having a list (Gamepro had one) of the koffins contents is a big help to maximize satisfaction. The game has the same feel as MK2.. move up the ladder, fight a ridiculous monster, then fight an easier end boss (or in this case 2 end bosses). Gameplay doesn't feel very new but it's still a winning formula for a fun game.
Graphics: Visually the game is really good. They did a great job of bringing the characters up to date and the arenas and backgrounds are fantastic. After playing DOA3 I can only give MKDA a 4.0. MK looks great but doesn't match DOA3 for visual.
Sound: I didn't notice any soundtrack support (but my rental had no instruction book so forgive me if I'm wrong) which would have been a plus. Otherwise the sounds seem pretty generic MK fight sounds and background music. Nothing very exciting but not bad either. Worthy of a 3.5
Suggestions: Figure out a way to make combos and fatalities easier to pull off. The d-pad seems to work fine for every game I own but for some reason (perhaps critical timing) I found combos and fatalities to be luck rather than skill based. I would do the same combo and it would only work 1 out of 10 times in some cases. It's the only frustrating aspect of this game. Also more interactive environments and multi-level environments would be nice. Soundtrack support? (or get tracks like the MK movies had). Otherwise I think you made a great game.

Overall: After playing the first 2 MK's, I was dis appointed in MK3 MK4 and any other MK Ultimate Trilogy etc. games. So when MK: DA came out I was kinda reluctant to even rent this. After playing single player a little, and vs. mode with my bro quite a bit, I have to say MK:DA sets itself apart from otehr good fighters. If you like 3D fighters, MK:DA's tight control system, easy to learn combos, great use of 3 fighting styles, and excellent graphics for a multi-console game will not disappoint.
Gameplay: There are several modes to choose. You can practice your moves against an opponent. Useful if you wanna just mess around or try the combos in the move-list when you pause. Konquest lets you go through training stages where your usage of executing combos are put to the test. This helps you nail down combos to perfection and unleash a serious a$$-whoopin on someone. The single player mode is pretty much the same as the original MK. Slowly move your way up through mroe and more difficult opponents. The only difference is you get to see the difficulty percentage, a 3D view of the level you will fight at (it's underneath the characters picture), and a little story background for your character at the beginning and the end. In both the Konquest and Single player modes you get coins. However, there are several different types of coins each category of coin unlocking something different in the Krypt. In the Krypt, there are coffins labeled from AA to ZZ. Each lettered coffin can unlock something from level art, to past MK photos, and also characters and levels. There are some that have nothing it them as well.

Gameplay is fun and responsive. I just want to note if you have one of them original power pad controllers, they suck for this game. You gotta smash the crap outta the buttons and the loose joystick doesn't help much with combos that require the joystick to move in a certain direction. The first thing you'll notice is your character's fihgting style at the bottom. Each character has three fighting styles. You can change from one style to the next via the L button. What's so great about having three fighting styles is it's so easy to execute a multi-fighting-style combo. I like the usage of weapons in MK:DA it increases damage more than regular attacks and you can stab people with the sword but it lowers your defense and anytime you are attacked your health goes down faster. After playing single-player it's kinda gettting old but I increased the difficulty and it's keeping me challenged. As for 2-player vs. mode, it is fun as hell and could be played for hours and days without getting boring. I also forgot toe mention each character only has one fatality and no babalities or animalities or any other ones from past MK games.
Graphics: There are many levels of blood in the game and by default I believe it's on the highest setting of blood. The blood flows out like a river and drips down the character and stains the ground. Although not the most realistic looking blood, it sure as hell looks cool though. Graphically, the game looks fine and dandy. Not Xbox perfection, but very high quality and better than a lot of other games out there. Character models are excellently done. Enviroments are also very sleek and sexy. Shang Tsung's level has souls he has taken flying through the hall and as they past by you can hear the screams. very cool, but at the same time creepy as hell.
Sound: Sound effects are fine. You get the appropriate punch, kicks, grunts, screams, and thuds you'd expect from an arcade fighter like this. Didn't really pay attention to the music but it hasn't annoyed me so I guess music is fine as well.
Suggestions: I'm not sure if this would work well for the MK series but very few fighters have a 4 player tag team mode.

Overall: well done my friends from midway,it
seems that every mortal kombat series is
just getting better and better,i love it ,after
all i was not into figthing games,but after
playing tao feng,marvel vs capcom 2 and
this one,my expectation are not the same
anymore.
Gameplay: gameplay is great and unique,character
with three different figthing styles,also
very nice enviroments filled with deadly
traps,what else?it can get better than
this.
Graphics: visual are the weak point of this
game,the enviroments are great,but
some of the character look blocky,i hope
next time midway use and take

Overall: I love this game. It's really addictive and has the depth! The developers really did study all the martial arts. It's really exciting to learn the martial art of all characters.
Gameplay: Firts time, I thought playing is somewhat weird. My character didn't move in a flow. Just one move and stop, one attack and stop. It takes some time to get used to the timing of the game. And thean, Bang! I can do almost all combo and move in flow.. It's good~ Once you learn the timing, everything is so natural.
Graphics: It's really sorry. MK came far later than DOA, but it's still worse than DOA. Is that possible. I think because it's based on PS2 version. It's really not that great graphic.
Sound: I don't know about music. I don't think it's really catchy, but it also doesn't bother to play the game. Plus, this game includes a music video, even though I don't like the band and the main theme, I think it's a good try.
Suggestions: Please forget about PS2.

Overall: I wasn't a huge fan of the MK franchise, but let's face it the Xbox needs more fighters of value. DOA3 was a dissapointment to me after the Dreamcast version, and nothing else on the system is worth more than a 5 minute investment. So I'm happily surprised with this one. The fighting is fast, furious and requires a surprising amount of strategy. It may also feature the most realistic styles of martial arts yet shown (a big surprise)! It's converted me, though I'm expecting even better things from Tao Feng.
Gameplay: Much better than expected fighting engine, I love having the 3 differnt styles to work with including a weapon. The diversity is great, and from what I can tell the styles follow reality far better than DOA for instance. There's a decent single player component, with good creepy ambiance that brings the stars from the franchise's past. The unlocking feature is a bit of a dud, but there is a lot there. Fun with friends and alone, this is what I wanted for Xbox!
Graphics: I think it looks great! Good characters, nice if fairly boring environments, and lots of unrealistic blood flow. Hey, there's a character that pukes on the ground but I didn't see any corn chunks. Very pleasing eye candy and good modelling.
Sound: The narrator's voice kicks butt. I was transported into the Mortal Kombat realm! Everything else is fairly predictable but done with some polish. Good!
Suggestions: I think this game was produced much better then I expected. My only complaint is how hard and tiresome it can be to unlock some of the extras. The environments look slick, but could use greater interactivity. Tao Feng will contrast this title for good or ill very soon.
