Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Overall: Advertised as a "edge of your seat", and graphically eye pleasing game, Hitman 2 does not live up to such a description in my opinion. I may just be picky, but I thought the game was a let down and no fun at all.
Gameplay: Interaction amongst characters is very lame and blunt. The programming was done in a hurry and it can be seen. So that makes the "fun factor" less enticing.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are just pitiful when compared to Halo, Max Payne, Unreal Championship, or other games. Designers of this game could have spent much more time concentrating on this. Characters in the game look very "blocky" and are not eye-pleasing either.
Audio: Sound and Audio pleasures in this game, stink. They were not professionally done, nor were they made with any effort. A suggestions on my part, mute the sounds and play your MP3's in the background.
Suggestions: The developer should have spent several months more time working on this before even THINKING about releasing it!
Overall Score: 4.0 / 10 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Overall: Need for Speed HP 2 is a very fun game. I rented it while a friend was over for the weekend and we beat the car thief tourney and the cop challenges. We then unlocked all cars and tracks, LEGIT. Once all of that is done, it's replay value is gone, and it does have a sense of &qu
Gameplay: Very fun, as the cops actually prevent somewhat of a challenge at times, except for the spike mat and helicopter(should've been re-done).
Graphics: Graphics were decent, the scenery could have been better, along with some small details, but when doing 150 MPH, you don't like to get picky!
Audio: The sound in the game was, not to my liking. Too plain, and just not enough coordination and time put into making the correct audio. All in all, don't listen to it.
Suggestions: Re-do the game with some minor graphical(scenery)changes and fixes, new sound, and more competetion. Also allow users to supe up their cars!
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Test Drive
Overall: Test Drive offers the player a unique opportunity to experience high speed street racing through the eyes of the driver in a very graphically pleasing enviroment. This game is worth the money to buy it!
Gameplay: Your objective is to race other street racers in courses, or even drag racers, which is always fun. The competition is tough at times, and handling is good. All in all, it's a fun experience, but once you beat it all, there's no replay value!
Graphics: Test Drive's graphics are very pleasing. The developers spent their time on just about every element, including the scenery and enviroments!
Audio: Engines roar, people cheer, fellow racrs brag and whine, and you laugh. Test Drive's audio is pleasing and have some very nice effect sounds. A good effort put in, since you can play your own soundtrack as well!
Suggestions: You should've added Xbox Live support to have people race each other, make crews, supe up cars, and more!
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Quantum Redshift
Overall: Quantum Redshift provides the gamer with a fun time at high speeds, and being able to demolish opponents make it even better! Although there isn't much replay value, the few times you play it- it's worth it!
Gameplay: High speeds, attack missiles, homing missles, and more are just a taste of what you get to do in this game. Controls and turning can be a bit "uncontrolled" and feel like floating, but other than that, it's fun and easy to get the hang of!
Graphics: The graphics of the vehicles players, and tracks are amazing, the only thing that isn't so nice are the mountain and scenery. But when doing high speed, focusing on the track, and being shot at, you don't notice scenery that easily!
Audio: You'll hear engine's vroom, and opponents talk trash, but other than that the soundtracks are not too great. It's suggested you play your own music!
Suggestions: Add more replay value, fix some graphic bugs, add more features, and make it more fun!
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Azurik: Rise of Perathia
Overall: I'll be blunt, I believe the only reason this game originally sold, was for it's coverart making it look somewhat cool! Repetition is the key factor, levels are long, but graphics are find. If you expect a HALO type game from this than you guess wrong, way wrong!
Gameplay: One word, Lame. You fight monsters that look as though they're out of a fairy tale, in a "G rated manner", and the fighting is VERY lame, almost delayed-like and like a turn-based-fighting. The worlds are not filled enough, too much walking to do, not enough AI and interraction. A letdown at it's best.
Graphics: Visuals are the ONLY strong point of Azurik: Rise of Perathia. The characters look find, but world elements and features, as well as detailing could have, and should have, been MUCH better. No need to release a game on Xbox without exploiting it's full potential, right?
Audio: Boring, lame, nursery-rhyme-like-tunes is a good summary. Do not expect Star Wars-like scores and compositions. Event he voice acting is bad. Spend more time next time around!
Suggestions: You should have spent much more time working on this game. It was a failure, in my opinion, and does not deserve a sequel!
Overall Score: 5.0 / 10 Deathrow
Overall: Intense combat, team-play out the arse, simulating gang fights at it's best, Deathrow is a hit! Objective is to go about this game, score points, kill others, and unlock levels/teams. All in All, many fun hours are to be had with this game, and it's hard to understand how many people think this game stinks! Go out now and get it while the price tag makes it like a rare piece of gold, as it's worth every penny you spend!
Gameplay: Control setup is fine, the storyline is alright, and entire gameplay experience is good. Not much to improve as it's how it should be, I'm sure there are a few minor touch up's (like changing some controls) but who's to pick on such a thing?
Graphics: Graphics are enticingly pleasing. Being one of the Xbox's first released games, this title did a hell of a job exploiting the known power of the Xbox. Characters look great, good effects, enviroments are nice, and everything fits. Good job and an A+!
Audio: Repetitive at times, but as always, the gamer has the choice to mute the games sound and play their own. While fighting though, you are indulged in the intense team combat and the challenge to unlock everything, so music is of no priority here!
Suggestions: Add more features, more teams, more levels, and make it Xbox Live compatible for people to play on teams!
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Overall: Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is an amazing game, plain and simple. The graphic abilities are brought to full life using the Xbox's Potential, and your times of fighting are kept entertaining while being able to earn
Gameplay: Once you play the game for at least 30 minutes, you will pick up the feel and controls very easily. Combo's may be a bit long, but if they weren't than you would use them constantly and the game would have no difficulty!
Graphics: Stunning, eye-stealing, out-os how one would describe the graphics! The fatalities are just AMAZING, and the characters look awesome! Gory blood splatters over, body parts fly, internal organs removed from where they once resided, total chaos explain through the eyes of stunning graphics!
Audio: In a fighting game, where your main objective is to fight, and the graphics are eye-stunning - would you really have a need for PERFECT sound? No! Within this game you get so focused ont he fights (due to the graphic's drawing you in) that music is unheard. Soundtrack is repetitive, but just mute it and play your own music in the background!
Suggestions: Add more characters. Include XBOX Live support so that players can fight each other(in a ladder sort of fashion possibly) and also allow massive battles!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Overall: Baldurs gate 2: Dark Alliance is a very intriguing game with excellent gameplay. You are introduced to a world of fun and co-op gameplay as well. If you liked Diablo 2, or any D&D games, you'll love this game!
Gameplay: Working with a friend makes the gameplay easier, and more fun, but even without one it's fun! Interacting between human and monster is extremely fine tuned, and battles are very fierce. If you beat the game, you can increase levels of difficulty and the highest is 10X(times) harder than the original level!
Graphics: Visualizations in this game are perfect. The responses of moving water, trees, wind, fire, spells, and everthing is amazing. When in dark corridors your view is limited, since of course, you're in a dark corridor! This game's graphics are not a let-down.
Audio: Musical features within Baldurs Gate 2: DA are as expected with an RPG. Composed features, &qu; songs, with sound effects as you approach corners or monsters. My suggestion, play your own music!
Suggestions: Better music, XBOX live enabled play where you can meet people and make a small team and venture!
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller
Overall: Crazy Taxi 3 offers a short-term entertainment source. After a few times playing, or days, the game gets out as there is hardly ANY replay value, and NO multiplayer. Final word: only get this game if you get it cheap or free!
Gameplay: Your objective is to pick up customers, speed away, and drop them off, and pick up your tips- gets boring after a short time! There are not enough active elements(run into a shop, windows break and walls fall, etc) but it does it's purpose for the lesser enjoyed crowd!
Graphics: Graphics in Crazy Taxi 3 are "all right". They could be better, mainly the scenery, houses, shops, and such, but they are fine. The developers should have spent more time working on this game.
Audio: Audio in Crazy Taxi 3 seems to be just focused towards the "rock" culture, although it's quality is fine. But what about the fans of rap, hip hop, even pop and bought the game? Well all in all, sound is fine, if you like rock.
Suggestions: You should have added more replay value. Possibly a multiplayed feature, or Xbox Live where people can BE the customers and select destinations for other live human cabbies.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Kakuto Chojin
Overall: This fighting based game was recalled supposedly for being "too brutal" and what not. Well in fights characters bones snap, necks break, spines crack, bones fly, blood splatters, water drips, and cuts open. All in all, a very fun game when playing against friends!
Gameplay: The challenge factor of this game is very low. Computer opponents give little or no challenge and can easily be beaten upon a second try. The best way to experience this game is against a friend!
Graphics: If fighting and "brutality" are this game's strong points, than graphics are one of it's two weak points. The arena's are pitiful, enviroments are very sketchy and are not interactive, although, characters/fighters do look GREAT, and the effects are very nice!
Audio: Sound is the 2nd weakness of this game. There is one song that plays in every battle, and it's a simple instrumental loop. The best decision for the gamer is to mute soundtrack and put on their MP3's in the background on their computer!
Suggestions: Should have worked on it longer, focused on better enviroments with active elements(bricks break when kicked, windows shatter, walls fall, dust will fly, if a pole is tip than lights go out, etc). They also should have worked on better sound/challenges.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Phantasy Star Online - Episode 1 and 2
Overall: All in All, phantasy star online(or PSO) is one VERY addictive game. You will encounter thousands of players, and eventually team up with them. Items are to be found, monsters to be killed, Mag's to be raised, and levels to be gained. If you become a true PSO gamer, you'll entertain yourself to 50+ hours of this game, since it is one ENDLESS journey filled with fun and adventure! Go out, buy it, and join us! The only "negative" is the 9$ monthly fee after 2 months of free play. But no matter what the cost, join us!
Gameplay: Very controlling, easy to use, and fun. You will quickly pick up the games feel and be able to join the ranks of elite PSO players worldwide within days, or even hours if you constantly play!
Graphics: The graphics engine is just the Dreamcast version with some touch-ups. The graphics could have been better, but this game is so addictive it doesn't matter.
Audio: Sound is alright, I'm sure many gamers mute the soundtracks and play their on music via a computer or what-not. But the music is alright for the average gamer!
Suggestions: Spice up the graphics engine. If we're going to have to pay 9$ or a service fee every month, make the graphics *MORE* worthwhile and appealing!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
