Overall: Great Idea, well done, but fell slightly short. The originality of the game alone is worth commendation, besides the point its a well made game. Great new idea for a sports game. If only the replay value had been better. We beat the game forever ago, just thought i would write a review now.

Gameplay: The gameplay is great. It takes a little bit to get used to. Once you master all the moves and controls, you can really get into it. Three of my friends and I played relentlessly till we had beaten the game.
Graphics: Not too sure about the graphics, since we played on a nice sized TV but with 4 players... From what I saw though they were definately up to par or above average XBOX graphics.

Sound: Played with a 5 satellite speaker surround sound system, sounded pretty good. Cant remember if it supported playing your on music however, if it did good job, if not put that feature in deathrow 2. Im pretty sure it did though.

Suggestions: For the love of god, fix the replay value. Every other sports game lets you take your team onto countless more seasons. We beat the game in like 2 days. After playing the 9-12 teams or however many, it just ended, whats up with that??!!!! We were definately dissapointed and at that point lost all interest. Its not even fun to go back and play because once you unlock the top team you can just kill everyone else.. Poorly done replay value on an otherwise excellent game

Overall: This has to be the most creative game ever made. Its a mix of sports with fighting. this is one Hell of a fun game, with alot of teams. And if your a person who likes it for the multiplayer u enter the code and unlock everything. the graphics are nice. and the sound with soundtrack makes it even better.
Gameplay: The gameplay is fun and is a kinda game that you should put in when a group of your friends come over. theres scoring plus fighting. What more does a person want??
Graphics: graphics are pretty good for a game like this. The framerate is smooth and nothing interefers with the fun
Sound: Sound is pretty good with alot and i mean alot of cussing this is a game that you wouldnt not get for a child but other than that put your own soundtrack and kick ass

Overall: A fun game that takes some time to get into, but once you get the hang of it the addiction begins.
Gameplay: This is the ultimate in your face high action sports title available. It will make your hands just as tired if not more than a hockey title. The object is simple, throw a disc through your opponents hoop to score points. The cool thing is you can beat the living crap out of your opponents to the degree that you knock them out for the quarter. There are 18 teams with 150 players in total with all of them having different appearances and attributesskills. Some are better at scoring and playing the game while others are just flat out better at dishing out pain and taking it. There two views one is a overhead shot which is a waste but easier to play for begginers and the other much better view follows behind your player in third person view and brings you right into the action. Surprisingly the fighting is done qutie well with the teams and players having different moves and styles. There are even throw like moves that sometimes go into a slow motion matrix mode during single player games which adds a nice touch.
Graphics: The players are good looking with a good amount of polygons and a fair amount of detail with excellent animation. The arenas range from flat out boring to very cool. The floors are shiny and depending on the arena have fantastic surface textures.
Sound: Like all sports titles should it supports user soundtracks. The smacks and thuds all sound good and convincing. Oh then there is the abundant cussing which is kind of fresh at the beggining but becomes repetive and lack luster in a short amount of time. The voice acting is good, which most of the lines include cussing in one form or another.

Overall: excellent game. one of the top games in my xbox collection. fun gameplay, lots of replay value, funny and individualistic teams, and a riot when friends are over.
Gameplay: very straigthfoward storyline in the game. you pick a team and along the way you earn cash and advance up the ladder. the higher the ladder you go, you will earn chances to recruit players to your team and take on challengers that want a make a name for themselves at your expense. lots of replay value becuase each team has its own ending with unique fighting moves and personalities. plenty of unlockables too. definitly a game i would recommend to anyone mature enough to handle the cuss words in it :P
Graphics: graphics are so-so. nothing you havent seen before or will make your jaw drop but there is consistency and lots of maps to play in.
Sound: the sound in this game is okay. but if you are like me and arent impressed. you can simply change the music to fit your needs and style with the custom soundtracks.
Suggestions: please make a part2 with uber leet graphics and maybe a couple of stages in the street. a crowd of spectators would also be nice.

Overall: Intense combat, team-play out the arse, simulating gang fights at it's best, Deathrow is a hit! Objective is to go about this game, score points, kill others, and unlock levels/teams. All in All, many fun hours are to be had with this game, and it's hard to understand how many people think this game stinks! Go out now and get it while the price tag makes it like a rare piece of gold, as it's worth every penny you spend!
Gameplay: Control setup is fine, the storyline is alright, and entire gameplay experience is good. Not much to improve as it's how it should be, I'm sure there are a few minor touch up's (like changing some controls) but who's to pick on such a thing?
Graphics: Graphics are enticingly pleasing. Being one of the Xbox's first released games, this title did a hell of a job exploiting the known power of the Xbox. Characters look great, good effects, enviroments are nice, and everything fits. Good job and an A+!
Sound: Repetitive at times, but as always, the gamer has the choice to mute the games sound and play their own. While fighting though, you are indulged in the intense team combat and the challenge to unlock everything, so music is of no priority here!
Suggestions: Add more features, more teams, more levels, and make it Xbox Live compatible for people to play on teams!

Overall: Well, When you first start the game it is very weird. It doesn't really take long to get used to it and start having fun.
Gameplay: Teh gameplay is semi nice. The controls may take awile to get used to but after a few rounds it's awsome. The camera can be a problem at some times.
Graphics: Visuals are very nice. Since it is a "only on Xbox" game then it takes some Xbox power and puts it to use. There is a ton of nice bump mappiong also.
Sound: Sound is a great part of the game. If you have Surround Sound and this game it is amazing. You can hear people all around you. The swearing is also very nice.
Suggestions: Next time make it Xbox Live compatable. PLEASE!

Overall: Long have I been waiting to play this. I played it once at my friend's, but traded it in for $10! (MORON!) So I went to EB and bought his used copy for $25 :D . This isn't as gory and violent as I thought it would be, but the game is defintely gritty and with drugs and excessive (but welcome) foul language, has plenty of attitude.
Gameplay: Controls are simple. Although I didn't take a likeing to them at first, they quickly grew on me. A and B punc and kick, A+B grab moves, Y Jump, X...does something. A passes, B shoots, R lock onto disc, and L does running attacks. The grab moves are just plain awesome. In the demo I only saw a few, but in the game each team has almost there own indivdual grab moveset. Very awesome. In single player, the slo-mo Matrix effect kicks in for every grab move you do. Doesn't really stop the flow of gameplay too much. As for multiplayer, it kicks in whenever a grab is done by a user to another user. It would suck having it kick in whenever a user did it to anybody but it's nice watching your friend get his !&%$@#* beat in slow mo.

What I was surprised was the career mode is multiplayer. Very few games have that but Deathrow allows up to 4 players to play on your team in career mode. In it, you can purchase several performance enhancing drugs that sometimes contain side effects. You also get challenges from teams trying to get in the league. They give you a lot of cash however, after the first challenge become very difficult. This robot team slapped the !&%$@#* outta my team and I didnt get the big cah prize plus I had to heal my team since they were KO'ed. Recruiting members is nice too. It allows you to get some depth on your roster.

The actual gameplay involves you trying to score a disc in the other opponents circle ring. At each arena, the ring comes in different sizes as well as the net. Speaking of which arenas vary greatly. Some are basic flat plain. However, there are two story arenas, the marine base which has a tunnel underneath it, and arenas with 2 ramps right in front of the goal for you to take a jumping shot off of. You need to have a different strategy at each arena making the game continually challenging. Some goals in arenas have a wall right behid them stopping the disc from flying far away so you can score behind the net getting 2 points no sweat. However, some dont' have a wall and you have to go a ways back.

Shooting and passing are simple. There are 2 vector lines: a green one which turns white showing you when your shot is almost a guranteed goal and a blue one showing who you will pass too. You can charge up your shot and shoot causing a deathrow or leave it like a mine for someone to pick up and get knocked on their ass. There are several powerups such as momentum, credits for your team to use, and health. Once your momentum is full, you can really !&%$@#* pound the other team in one to two grabs or a couple punches here and there.

Fighting is simple, fun, and challenging. Only downside is when the computer knocks you down, they show no mercy and knock your ass around till you are Injured. to get injured , you must deplete a character's health bubble. Once they are all gone he is Ko'ed at least for the round. To heal him you must use your teams credits. Personally I never heal my guys to full. I just pick up mega health in game to heal'em.

Deathrow offers an awesome gameplay system combined with strategy to provide an experience second to none.
Graphics: By far some of the best graphics on the Xbox. Not the greatest, but defintely good enough where you wouldn't be able to make it look that good on PS2 or GC. Charcter details to face and models are excellent. Animation with moves, shooting, jumping, diving etc. are fluent. The enviroments are great and the lighting is just right. Overall, excellently done.
Sound: In game soundtracks aren't bad, but custom soundtrack support is here and boy is it nice getting your hands dirty with Godsmack and Disturbed :D . In game voice acting is awesome as well. I love all the cussing! That's what I love to hear in a M rated game. Shouting strategies to your teammate (i.e. DEFEND THE NET!) and your teammates calling you adumbass for hitting the wrong guy is just great attention to detail. I love it!
Suggestions: Online play, more teams, and you really need to add weapons and possibly some dismemberment. Supberb game though.

Overall: This is a very entertaining game - well worth $30 purchase price - Its a brutal fighting game combined with a very original sports game - Must have for all sports/fighting fans
Gameplay: Real easy to control - The more you play the more you appreciate advanced controls to strafe around goals and adjust of strategy - Can fit individual's preferences with the team's pros - Some may just feel like choosing a strong team, turning up agression, and trying to knock out opponent - Others may prefer to out score opponent - This game easily allows for both types of people - Can either play with one disc or Multidisc - Both are a lot of fun
Graphics: Impressive graphics - Can tell difference between players - All the teams are so visually unique - Camera angle never takes away from playing the game
Sound: Good background music - Loved the unique phrases heard during the game - Its great to be able to taunt your opponent with some choice words will trying to knock them out - But could do all that without swearing
Suggestions: After you beat season you can not continue - work on that - Swearing filter - Some training mode to improve characters in-season - Keep up great original work

Overall: Deathrow is a brutal fighting sport where the fastest,
toughest players are victorious and the slow
are defeated. It combines the lightning fast gameplay
of third-person action games, adrenaline rush of fighting
games and the cooperative team play and gritty roughness
of rugby, offering a unique gameplay experience.
The object of Deathrow is to win matches however you
can, either by scoring as many points as possible
before time runs out, or by severely injuring your
opponents and removing them from the field of combat.
Feel the rush as you beat the pulp out of your opponents
using back-breaking holds, blood-splattering punches and fast
sliding kicks to knock the competition to the floor.
Team up with a friend and go for a team K.O. as you
electrify the crowd, stomping your enemies and scoring.
Earn money by winning matches, injuring your opponents
and exciting the audience, to attract star players and
train your current team making them stronger by any means
necessary. Engage in fierce hand-to-hand combat against your
friends, enemies, or highly intelligent AI opponents that
don't just get mad, they get even !
Gameplay: In Deathrow, you must press X to slide or to block in a combat
situation, B to kick or throw the disc into the goal, A is to
punch or to pass the disc to an another teammate and Y is to jump.
Also you can use the right trigger to automatically aim for the disc
and the left trigger to strafe. Finally the white and the black button
is to use the strong language and to change to an another teammate, also you can change your strategy icon with the
control pad. This is pretty hard to talk about a game that was nearly
perfect to me at least in the gameplay, so i will talk about the feature you
will be able to see in this game. First of all, there is a multiplayer
who can support for up to 8 players, a realistic mature language,
32 combat sports arena locations ( each with their own unique architecture
and game-play elements ), 18 playable teams ( each with their own background
special abilities, and motivation for competing ), 150 unique characters,
3 extras ( which are multiple disc, extreme mod and art gallery ), an
automatic victory if you remove all of your opponent's players from the field
of combat, team management component allowing you to customize your own team
according to your style of play, you can build your player's statistics from match
to match while gaining speed and power bonuses, injured players can be healed
between rounds if you have enough money, or you must save your winnings to
buy them back, a dozens of holds, s-e-x and drug. The artificial intelligent is
awesome for the opposite team but your team seem to get problem with some fact like :
do so pass, finish the job, protect yourself and healing themself with special
items. The story itself took like five hour and it's done but there is so much to
unlock and the possibility of playing in cooperative with four friends is flawless.
Also, next time i don't want a double loading to begin the game and no more publicity.
Buy it now or die ! Special price for a special game !
Graphics: The Xbox effects such as bump-mapping, spectacular lighting, and bumped reflection mapping,
show how well a x-box game should be ? With some highly detailed characters, a modeled using
more than 55 bones for life-like movement, 7,000 polygons for a realistic character shape,
a facial animation capable of blinking and talking with some expressing like pain, anger, happiness,
and finally over 800 base animations, you can't get more.

Sound: The voice acting was quite good because there is a mature language which are really funny and you can
also import your music. There is a real problem with the sound mix, sometimes you can just heard the mature
language period or the other times you can just heard the music. Even if with the
balancing system you can't heard them together.
Suggestions: Got a problem with the sound mix, make AI smarter, no more publicity and no more double loading, please !

Overall: WOW!! This game is a must for any Xbox owner (who doesn't mind lots of cursing, that is). This game is one of the best games I have ever played. If you like Action, Violence, and Sports (and lots of cursing), then this is the game for you!
Gameplay: The gameplay is crisp and very responsive. The controls are easy to learn (too easy almost, because there are really no secret combos, which would have been nice). However, I would like the computer to be a little bit smarter. Like when they block a shot, have them either run with it, pass it to me (they do sometimes, but not all the time), or something because alot of the time they just throw it away and the other team gets it!!!!
Graphics: The graphics really use the Xbox power. The character models are extremely detailed as are most things in the game. The environments should be spruced up a bit though. There is absolutely no slowdown even with these amazing graphics and the addition of the Matrix-Style camera is very addictive.
Sound: As long as you don't have a problem with tons of cursing, then the sound is very good. The taunts are cool and it's nice to see the goalie come running at you after you have flipped him and called him worse things a few times. The grunts are nice to hear. However, I would like some more end of round taunting.
Suggestions: Keep improving the graphics and gameplay. Make even smarter AI, have options for more or less than 4 on 4. Make some new, bigger arenas with more objects in them. Have weapons laying around and possibly some starting out on the team (maybe have to earn them?) Have a language filter. I need more than just one ending video. Have more random events and for God's sake give me Xbox Live!!!!!!!!!!

Overall: I love this game. It is a unique game that keeps you coming back for more. This is a must have for any xbox player.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. You have to throw a disk through a goal while being cased by the other team who is trying to kill you. Fighting with other players is fun and there are so many unlockable things that you have to keep playing.
Graphics: The graphics are good. The blood on the ground is good and the very realistic arenas you play in add to the whole thing.
Sound: You can play your own music which is always a plus and the sound affects are nice. The only real problem I had with the sound is the needless swearing. I don't care because I hear swearing all the time, but it breaks my concentration when I suddenly hear a swear word while I am trying to score a goal.
Suggestions: Get rid of the swearing. You don't need it! You have a great game without it. Also, I think that if you could somehow play with two disks in an arena, that would be really cool.

Overall: Great Multiplayer game - no XBOX LIVE tho! This game is a fast paced and simple to learn sports type game. Two teams of 5 kick, punch, backbreak, stomp and mangle each other in an attempt to shoot a disc thru the other teams goal. there are about 150 moves to learn - lots of unlockable teams and arenas. Requires fast thinking and good sense of direction.
From the moment we finished our first match, my friends and i knew this was gonna be another great multiplayer game.
Gameplay: A combat sport that moves at a non-stop fast pace. literally fight to gain posession of a disc/ring and shoot it thru the opponent's goal at all costs. Lots of hand to hand combat is part of the game, since there are no rules. the concept is simple, and has been designed well into this game to provide non-stop multiplayer combat/sport action.
Graphics: The arenas and lighting are great. the characters are great. There are lots of arenas to unlock, and they have their unique characteristics.
you get eight high quality characters in the arena. The characters are well animated too.
Sound: the environment effects like reverb are affected by the size of the arena. for example small garage bays sound different than large statium arenas. the game features 5.1 sound.
You can play your own soundtrack, which is great because people who dig this game will definitely have appropriate music for fast paced violent sports.
the CPU controled players will communicate to each other and you by yelling if they are open, or by telling you to shoot or pass. of course you don't have to listen

Overall: This is a rather difficult review. This is a classic example of a game that is executed beiutifullly, however, it doesn't suit my preferences for what a good game is. In other words, I simply couldn't get into the idea of this futuristic sport. The graphics, the competitions, the sond everything was done rigyht, but the concept was just silly I thought. You gotta get this stupid ring through this !&%$@#* hoop, it just made little sincse. Anyway, I payed through it and instanly got sick of it. Exchanged it immediatly for Ghost Recon, ever thought I thought the game looke great.
Gameplay: The ctonrols were easy to grasp. Yet, It took me awhile to understand how to score goals. It's nice to be able to beat the crap out of your opponents, but at the same time it takes away from the actual gameplay when you maybe beating up on someone, th eother team could be scoring. I don't know, as Said, I couldn't really get into the concept, maybe I had to smoke befor or something to really get into it.
Graphics: The game looks and feels great. It's almost up to Halo standards, and the replay feature is !&%$@#* ing awesome. Best replay feature I've ever seen.
Sound: SOund was great. Everyone is cursing and it actually sounds authentic. I really would prefr to se emore grames with excessive cursing. We need that badly to reflect real life.

Overall: This game is a fantastic team based game that breaks all traditional boundaries. Forget all those games that you played in the past which consisted of tiny characters on a large pitch. On this game in action view you see your player up close and can command the whole game quite easily.
Gameplay: In multiplayer mode with some friends around, playing cooperatively, or against each other this game rocks. Deciding whether to pass the disk or to simply KO the other team is simply amazing.
The amount of unlocks on this game is incredible, and there is enough depth here to keep you going for hundreds of hours.
Graphics: the graphics on this game are better than halo. The full hardware texture and light sourcing, bump mapping, vertex shading and shadows have been used. The teams and arena's are countless and gorgeously rendered. With "the matrix" style camera pans on some of the finishing moves which amazingly don't interfere with the excellent flow of the game you simply have to see this game to believe it!
Sound: The sound is okay on his game. However, you can add your own customised playlist made up from any of your ripped Xbox library of songs. This add and subtract any song you like to the playlist option is very cool.
Suggestions: A suggestion I have to the developer would be making an online version of this game. Otherwise, the job they done here is quite groundbreaking than brilliant.

Overall: This game reeks of HyperBlade for the PC back in '98 or so; however, it is a BLAST! Four on four is so much better than larger team sports; the action is quick, easy to learn, and exciting. The teams vary in personality, and the in between game options are great.
Gameplay: Gameplay could be improved. You can lock on to the disk, and the goal, but not a player to fight. Fighting has a few options, but a lock on and a better blocking system would improve this aspect greatly. Running and scoring works great though! Also, you get emails between victories, and I can't delete them. Minor annoyance. Training your players works well, but could have been explained better in the rule book. Multiplayer, of course, is better.
Graphics: Not in the upper 2% of games, but outstanding. The arenas are great, floors, walls, goals. The character models are good, but not the best of XBox games. I have no complaints about them though.
Sound: Voices are good. They used some talent in this game and they have a selection of lines to let you know how good or bad you are doing. Most of these lines are only fit for late night cable TV, but I find it ammusing and say similar stuff myself. The sound effects isn't as immersive as some other sport games, so I'm giving it a 4.
Suggestions: Clean up the fighting control, expand on the out of game content, and more game options for different kinds of games: 3-on-3, 2on2, "brass knuckle games", ice (slick) arenas, etc; and I'll buy the sequel.

Overall: I would never have try this game but since it ranked so well on xboxaddict.com, i figure what the hell and rented it. Well, that proves that this web site is a good way to check quality games. I loves it and bought it.
Gameplay: Every once in a while comes a game that you don't know what to expect with. Is it a shooter? Is it a fighter? A platformer? A sportster? It is all of the above and it is really cool. Got addicted in 5 minutes. It is kinda like a futuristic basketballer.
Graphics: Great graphic and many arena. It is very nicely done. The reflections and players are pretty cool. Ha ha ha to all PS2 owner.
Sound: Love the XBOS feature that unables you to put your own music in games. I agree with many critics thought, we should be able to stop the cursing.

Suggestions: We should be able to stop the cursing. or maybe we could have to UNLOCK it?

Overall: Great overall appeal, when u start playing you don't want to stop until u know everyting about the game and until you have unlocked everyting and beaten every team.
Gameplay: Great gameplay that makes you want more and more, the characters do what you want them to do when you want them to do it and it will take you ages to get sick of.
Graphics: Great graphics, especially of every different player, great graphics especially with so much on the screen at the one time.
Sound: Custom soundtracks are always great on any game and lots of swearing- what moe do you need. Just make sure you play it loud.
Suggestions: Keep up the good work and put in a longer career mode with more teams.

Overall: I must agree with DSKing on this one as well. Swearing just killed what might have been an awesome game for me. Cursing is nothing more than a feeble minds attempt to express itself forcefully. Give me a swear filter, like MK:DA does for blood and it might have been good.
Gameplay: Gameplay seemed solid. Could get addictive, if it were not for all the distracting, needless swearing :/
Graphics: Grahpics were nicely done. But with the X's capabilities, I feel that they could have been done much better.
Sound: Maybe I should have played the game with the sound turned off. But then, how would I hear anything else in the game. I can imagine what it would look like in closed caption LOL....
Suggestions: Curse filter like MK:DA blood setting. Utilize the X's graphics capability more.

Overall: i had doubts about this game when i bought it. I thought it might be shallow and repetive. IT IS NOT. As i rarely buy xbox games because of the price i have to get games that will keep me engaged ofr ages, and i have a feeling this will do that
Gameplay: The objects are simple, but there is a helle lot of depth in this game. Also playing WITH rules can sometimes be more fun that playin without rules, especially in the protectors arena.
Graphics: The graphics are amazing and the player models are really well done. not muuch explainin needed.....
Sound: Although the sound is very realistic and believeable, it really gets repititive alter on, especially the crowd noises.

Overall: So far, my only two reviews have been bad but I call 'em like I see 'em and this one is another lemon.
Gameplay: Just could not get into the game. All the cursing and swearing distracted me from what was even going on in the game. Mabye if there was a way to turn off the stuff, it might have been better.
Graphics: Graphics were nice. Not anything spectaculer or not but just ok. Ho hum I guess you would call it. Nothing that just stands up and grabs your attention.
Sound: Like I said earlier, the cursing killed this game for me, so since it involves the sound, the sound rating goes down as well.
Suggestions: Try making a version that allows all the needless swearing to be turned off and you might have a decent game.

Overall: Deathrow is such an addictive, fun game... everything in the game fits together really well. It's a mix between basketball and ultimate frisbee except you can beat the hell out of the other team. It's really fun and there's a lot of things to do to keep you busy.
Gameplay: A lot of games that have come out recently have good graphics but so-so gameplay, but deathrow has great graphics with excellent gameplay. You get money and unlock points when you win a game, and there are a lot of teams, players, and extras to unlock. In the game you're on a team of 4 players trying to throw a frisbee through your goal across the arena. You can punch, kick, slide tackle, and throw your opponents in different ways which is crazy fun. I've played games without touching the ring/frisbee thing. I just chased after those dudes and beat them down until they were KO'd. Very addictive gameplay.
Graphics: The visuals are great! From the players, to the arenas, to whatever, the visuals look very good. Once in awhile when you through an opponent the camera rotates 360 degrees in slow motion around your character. It looks really cool. There are two different views to choose when you play. One is a close-up and the other is farther away.
Sound: I really didn't pay attention to the music, it's pretty good. It's fast, techno music, and it goes well with what's going on in the arena. I don't know if you can listen to your own music or not. The sound effects are very well done and fun to listen to. The players cuss all the time at each other...good stuff
Suggestions: hmmm..maybe add some more fighting moves for the player. And if you could get a teammate and do a "double-team" on someone would have been really cool. Allowing your team to do alley-oops would have been fun, too.

Overall: This game is so fun and evil(in a good way). I like knocking out the people and winning quickly, and when they cuss... haha, very funny.
Gameplay: This game probaly is not for everyone, but for the majority is a favorite. I like the intensity of playing and hoping to win. Although you will probaly get mad, today I was playing and getting killed so as my temp rose and adrenaline too, I hit a whole in the wall...woops. I'm only 15 so typical thing right?
Graphics: The graphics are great and the blood is cool too. Very realistic, I dont like the games where you hit them and they dont bleed.
Sound: This is also great, 5.1 dolby, wow. I like listening to my own music too rather then what the producers thought would be good.
Suggestions: Make it Live of course, only I think people will get mad at the other person for always beating them up.

Overall: This game is great for anyone who likes sports games with a lot of action. It is kind of like baseketball except you can beat up the other team. It has a lot of depth if you get into it and is loads of fun to play with buddies.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very fun. Like I said, kind of a cross of basketball with a violent aspect. It is great being able to upgrade your characters and buy new ones. The events between the game just add to the already great fun factor.
Graphics: The graphics are great. The individual guys on your team are different, but not as distinctive as they could be. But I'm not complaining.
Sound: The sound is great. Lots of good effects and cussing. It would be nice if they had included a option to turn off some of the fowl language (though I probably wouldn't use it), just in case you have someone over who would be offended.
Suggestions: XBox Live support!!! This game screams for it. Would have been a great title. If you can get a downloadable patch for it, that would be awesome.

Overall: Deathrow is a violent sports game that reminds of lacrosse with a hoop and no rules. Its difficult at first, it took me awhile just to recognize the ball. Its also difficult to get a handle on what you should be doing at first. The first thing i noticed was that you can beat the crap out of anybody, which is what i did for the first 5 games while i let the computer players do the scoring. But my buddy and i kept at it, playing the game on system link and cooperative campaign mode and we learned to play the game, and like it alot. The game has an addictive quality, a I have to play 1 more time to beat these guys. Deathrow really throws alot of unlockables at u, 32 arenas, 150 players and 18 teams! The arenas are varied and change up gameplay nicely.
When I first played it I thought the game might be a little too quirky and weird to get into, but what i found was a game with a solid mix of action and strategy, and most importantly very fun.
Gameplay: The controls take a bit of getting used to, its not like halo. When you first play the game you will feel like many women watching a football game, clueless. The rules have to be learned and patience is needed. There are several fighting moves used to take down your opponents. One of my favorites is to knock down my opponent, then repeatedly kick him while he is down until he is injured. In the beginning I would ignore the puck and just try to knock out the team until they were all dead and we would win by default. Later on i learned how to pass, jump, roll, strafe, shoot. The game has many options to control your player. My one complaint is that collision detection seems suspect at time, nothing drastic but it can get frustrating constantly missing attacks and then the computer kicking my ass. The ai is pretty good, there very good at fighting and avoiding your attacks, not so good at defending against shots on goal. One thing i noticed is that speed of players was the best attribute to have. My buddy and I would kick the crap out of slow, tough teams but have our hands full against speedy but relatively weak teams. Wish that could be balanced out better.
Graphics: Not bad, but nothing great. Good player models, but they all look the same with different color uniforms. The arenas are varied and look different, but there is a dull, wash out look here that I think could be improved upon.
Sound: Terrible swearing, get rid of it. Its obnoxious and way over the top. Guys screaming "Were getting fuc#@! up the !&%$@#* out there" Come on, thats gimmicky and in poor taste. The game stands on its own merit and does not need this to sell more copies.
Suggestions: More player models with different dimensions. It would be nice to give personality to the teamates you play with, and a distinguished look for each player. Get rid of the swearing. Support xbox live if you make a sequel. Nice job, this game surprised me in respect to how much fun it was.

Overall: This game is bad @$$!! You need to go out and buy it immediately after reading this review. It is the best crossover between a fighting and a sports game that I have ever played. I seriously have been playing this game for a week straight now, only taking breaks to eat and sleep. I dont think I will ever stop playing it, unless they make a follow up sequel.
Gameplay: When I first put this game in I was expecting more of a fighting non-sports game. At first I was disappointed, but after about 5 minutes of playing it didn't matter cuz I was already addicted. The sports aspect of it actually turns out to make the game even more funner than what it would have been as just a fighting game. For every match 2 out of 18 teams go at it trying to throw a disc into a goal while literally pounding the crap out of each other. It's a multiplayer game which means endless fun between friends. Two modes (single match) and (conquest). In conquest you battle your way to the top of the league and if 3 of your friends want to help you get there, they can come into the game and leave the game whenever they want. With every win you get money and Unlock Credits. These go towards unlocking a multitude of things such as new players to add to your team, new teams, new arenas, and some new game options like multidisc. Mutlidisc puts 3 discs into play at once. Also during conquest mode you have a message screen that will tell you various things such as new players wanting to join your team, hidden teams challenging you, and experimental drugs that are offered to you. Gameplay is kind of confusing at first, which is why they have a Tutorial mode to help. Within minutes you'll have the hang of it and you'll be bashing some poor fools skull in.
Graphics: The graphics are excellent. The game runs smooth as silk and keeps a fast speed at the same time. The frame rates per second are constantly steady with NO slowdowns. Both the characters and the arenas are designed with expertise.
Sound: This aspect of the game makes puts it over the top. The players talk some serious !&%$@#* to each other before and during the matches. You actually have a taunt button where you can talk shit at will and each player says several different things. There is alot of cursing, especially when a team is losing. Now take the shit talking and combine it with the games customizable playlist that lets you play whatever music you have stored on your x-box. It's a world you will not want to leave for a long time.
Suggestions: Make it Live. Make a franchise mode where you can draft players. Make the playlist song limit larger than 24 songs.. or better yet make it unlimited.
