NFL 2K3
Overall: I don't see what other people see in this game. I bought it because of all the hype, and I was seriously disappointed. I was thinking it would be a realistic game like the Madden series, but it turned out to be an arcade game just like Fever. Very disappointing.
Gameplay: I hate the lack of features in-game. Madden has so many features while playing, like shifting linebackers, line, and DB, and also switching the direction of the play at the line. In 2K3, all you can do is move the line. Very dissappointing. Also, when I went to check the controller configuration when I first started playing, I was angry at the fact that they didn't even include a button setup!! All you could setup was the running with the ball!! It's ridiculous!! And how much time was put into making the AI? Ten seconds? I mean seriously, I can't rollout for anything. I find myself weaving back and forth trying to get my dumb offensive line to pick up the defensive lineman that is right in front of him!! The offensive line in this game is HORRIBLE!! They can't block for anything. Very unrealistic. And have I mentioned tackling? Reminds me of Fever. You can reach a guy ten yards in front of you in full stride just by pressing the tackle button. Pretty pathetic.
Graphics: God awful!! I don't see how anyone can like these graphics. I am disappointed that Sega makes games for different consoles because this game looks like a PS2 game. The players all look skinny, frail, and pale. The detail in the faces that people talk about are not there. There is no detail. Their faces are horrible. I hate games that are released for other systems, because the graphics show it. USE THE XBOX'S POWER!!
Audio: The presentation is horrible. I like Madden's because he gives his own opinions and he is into the game. In this, it is sooooo boring. This guy just says the same thing over and over and over again.
Suggestions: Use the Xbox's power. If you make a game that is released on other consoles at the same time, you must realize that makes people like me very disappointed because the graphics are horrible. If you want to continue this franchise, some serious updates are needed, the first being in visuals, the seconds being in gameplay, making it more realistic, and the third being in the broadcasting.
Overall Score: 4.0 / 10 Airforce Delta Storm
Overall: THIS GAME IS AWESOME FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVES FLIGHT GAMES!! The action is nice. I guess it is awesome because it is really the only air fighting game available for Xbox. WHY DID THIS GAME GO OUT OF PRINT? If anyone is looking for this game, since it cannot be bought at stores anymore, look here: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPIrItems&userid=rade=0&since=-1&am
Gameplay: The gameplay is easy to learn and responsive. However, eject features would really help this game. The flying is nice and hopefully there will be more flying games on Xbox.
Graphics: Graphics are awesome. Very detailed planes and the ground units are just average. The planes are gorgeous. There should have been a bit more detail in the ground part of this game.
Audio: Sound is ok. Some more realistic noises, like how they sound in real life, would be nice. Also, put in Xbox live if there is a sequel, even though this game is out-of-print.
Suggestions: Add Xbox Live. Make a sequel. Why did this game go out-of-print? Anyone want the game? Go here: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPIrItems&userid=rade=0&since=-1&am
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
Overall: Poor game. Really not that appealing. The game is paced pretty slowly so it is pretty hard to get into it.There are really no amazing tricks and it can be hard sometimes to gain speed even going downhill, sometimes you just practically stop for no reason. That makes doing tricks much harder.
Gameplay: Nothing special. Buttons take a while to get used to and aren't very reactive. It is VERY repetetive. They need to work on acceleration in this game.
Graphics: Good for when it was made. Isn't good compared to some of today's games, but it can still be appreciated. It is pretty detailed and this is the strongpoint of the game.
Audio: What sound? No real FX in the game, at least none that stand out alot. I mean, there are whoosh's and what not but it would be nice to say, have other snowboarders around you (quite a bit), who say stuff.
Suggestions: More more more. More snowboarders, more levels, better graphics, better sound, easier gameplay, better acceleration, and online play. All of this stuff will make a 2 alright.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 NHL 2K3
Overall: Average game. Nothing special about it. I'm sick and !&%$@#* ing tired of all these ported games that look like they should be on the PS2!!!! For God's sake Sega!! Sega is the worst company in this department, every single one of their sports games have graphics that blow !&%$@#* !! EA is a little bit better, but they don't offer online play to Xbox!!
Gameplay: Again, nothing special. I never really got into it. When I make a big hit, I want to see it happen slower, not all of a sudden the guy you hit is on his back. The game clock is horrible, especially when you have a power play and the "2:00" goes by in about 20 seconds.
Graphics: Horrible. This is the one reason I hate all of Sega's games (hopefully Panzer Dragoon Orta won't disappoint us). There is absolutely no detail in anything. Especially the faces, they suck horribly. This looks just like 2k2 and it is obviously a port.
Audio: Why isn't there more of a sound when I make a big hit? Come on!! I want to hear some crashing!! Sometimes there isn't even a noise (actually, most of the time there isn't, and when there is it is too faint to hear). And the announcing SUCKS. Come on, I need to hear some jokes or something. These guys say the same exact thing over and over and over again and I'm getting sick and tired of it.
Suggestions: I need new announcers who actually get into the game and tell jokes!! This announcing is too repetetive!! Stop making this game look like a !&%$@#* ed port. Make it better for the Xbox, use it's power. I want better puck physics!! Make it so that the puck actually is in front of the stick rather than just randomly floating near it and when I pass it goes to the player without my player actually making contact, same with shooting. I need more sound, like when I hit, and especially I need more graphics. Sega should stop making sports games for the Xbox, they suck.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 James Bond 007: NightFire
Overall: This game is average. Isn't the best game, isn't the worst. It has nothing on Goldeneye, which is by far the best 007 game ever made. Why not just make a Goldeneye 2 for the hell of it? Add more levels and weapons, online play, improve the graphics, different single player campaign and it would be awesome!!
Gameplay: Average. Controls are mostly easy. The gameplay has always been good for 007. Except for Agent Under Fire, I hated the configuration and I hated that game altogether. The guns in this are pretty cool, but where the hell is the RCP
Graphics: Character models are done very nicely. But the environment and the backrounds are dull. EA needs to spend more time on the little details of the games to make them better.
Audio: Pretty good. The voice casting was different from the others, especially with have Pierce Brosnan do parts, but at the same time I think we need a new 007. Make a Goldeneye 2 with a different person playing 007.
Suggestions: I need more replay value. The multiplayer sucks pretty bad. The levels are overall pretty small and definately not enough of them. This game needs better graphics. Bring back the guns from Goldeneye!! Bring back Goldeneye!! Long Live Goldeneye!!!!!!!!
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Hunter: The Reckoning
Overall: This game is awesome!! Forget about the guy who reviewed this before me, he just doesn't appreciate a good game. This game isn't that fun by yourself, which is probably how he played it. This is most fun with friends, especially with 4 players.
Gameplay: Very easy to learn and very easy to master. The controls are simple and responsive. I would like to see some new moves though, and have it so that when a special move is upgraded, it changes the look of the move itself.
Graphics: This game has excellent visuals. The environments and especially the characters and weapons are very detailed. The frame rate is very stable. However, I would like to see levels with more free-roaming capabilities.
Audio: I would like some better sound. Some more flesh cutting noises and grunts and have the characters talk to each other and taunt the enemies more. Add some new characters with some new voices, and make the monsters say things to you.
Suggestions: I need more characters!! Why only 4? Add at least 4 more for the new one, or maybe 6 more. Then also add 4-6 more unlockable characters. Have each character with 2 starting outfits and 2 or 3 unlockable ones. Also, have an unlockable stronger default weapon. Make the game longer with larger, more free roaming levels. Add an 8 player cooperative through system link and Xbox Live. Continue to improve gameplay, visuals, and sound, and Hunter 2 will be awesome.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
Overall: The game itself is nearly perfect. However, it does fall short in some aspects. I would have liked to have seen some more replay value in the game. There are no unlockables, no multiplayer, and nothing else to bring me back to play it again. Sure, one new level every once in a while will be nice, but you can beat the level in another hour.
Gameplay: The gameplay is mostly easy to learn and very responsive. I like how the game has a very good idea of recognizing where things are. Like in some games you can move to climb down a ladder and just fall off the edge. This game doesn't do that, luckily. The knocking out people and carrying their bodies is cool, but I would have liked to seen more variety in the bodies. Like having fat people that have to be dragged but make noise, so you have to make sure there is no one around. Also, none of the guys fight back when you have them in a headlock, even when they have a gun! Also, add the assault rifle to the tutorial.
Graphics: Wow!! The graphics really stun me. I have never seen such good lighting effects in a game. The characters move so smoothly and are so detailed it is amazing. This is the only area where Splinter Cell really beats out Halo (and that is also because Halo was released to years earlier).
Audio: The sound is pretty good, but not perfect. It would have been cool to have had guards sometimes whistle to themselves, or talk to themselves, and therefore lowering the risk of you being heard. Also, it would have been nice if some people get scared !&%$@#* less when you have a gun to their head and start whining, so you have to knock them out early.
Suggestions: I need more variety and replay!! More levels now!! Why aren't there any unlockables? Maybe more guns, gadgets, or a different character to play as? Maybe add a cooperative or multiplayer on split screen, system link, and xbox live would really help the replay value. I want to be able to use enemy guns! Or at least give me more than just two guns to use (like an assault rifle with a suppresor instead of a scope, or both, and a sniper rifle with a suppresor, and maybe a knife). Also, add more difficulties. Add a Easy mode for beginners and an unlockable Expert mode. Add the rifle and any other new weapons you may add to the tutorial. Also, have an unlockable shooting range with all the weapons available, and have it be single or multiplayer (competetive), and make the enemy weapons available too. As long as you fix the problems and add replay value, Splinter Cell 2 will be just better than this.
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Deathrow
Overall: WOW!! This game is a must for any Xbox owner (who doesn't mind lots of cursing, that is). This game is one of the best games I have ever played. If you like Action, Violence, and Sports (and lots of cursing), then this is the game for you!
Gameplay: The gameplay is crisp and very responsive. The controls are easy to learn (too easy almost, because there are really no secret combos, which would have been nice). However, I would like the computer to be a little bit smarter. Like when they block a shot, have them either run with it, pass it to me (they do sometimes, but not all the time), or something because alot of the time they just throw it away and the other team gets it!!!!
Graphics: The graphics really use the Xbox power. The character models are extremely detailed as are most things in the game. The environments should be spruced up a bit though. There is absolutely no slowdown even with these amazing graphics and the addition of the Matrix-Style camera is very addictive.
Audio: As long as you don't have a problem with tons of cursing, then the sound is very good. The taunts are cool and it's nice to see the goalie come running at you after you have flipped him and called him worse things a few times. The grunts are nice to hear. However, I would like some more end of round taunting.
Suggestions: Keep improving the graphics and gameplay. Make even smarter AI, have options for more or less than 4 on 4. Make some new, bigger arenas with more objects in them. Have weapons laying around and possibly some starting out on the team (maybe have to earn them?) Have a language filter. I need more than just one ending video. Have more random events and for God's sake give me Xbox Live!!!!!!!!!!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
Overall: This game is awesome and a welcome change from Halo. It is very realistic and that is the main difference between this and other FPS, is how you can die in 1-2 shots. The Xbox Live is SWEEEEEET and I love playing it with other people and being able to talk to them and setting out strategies.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty smooth but they are a few drawbacks. The controls take awhile to get used to, as does the game itself. The realisticness is good but also much different then the average FPS. The only time people normally die in one shot in other FPS are headshots, and normally it takes about 8 or more shots to kill someone. In this game your dead in 2 or 3.
Graphics: Blah. The visuals are nothing impressive. The character details are pretty nice but everything else is just plain. There was obviously no improvement made over the PC version of the game, and the PC version actually looks better.
Audio: Good sound. The guns sound realistic and it is good to hear people die, however sometimes having the enemy dying screaming out in pain might be pretty cool.
Suggestions: Make a Ghost Recon 2 with more maps and more unlockables. Also, make it so it can hold up to 32 with up to 3 or 4 different teams. IMPROVE THE GRAPHICS!!! Make the graphics worthy of the Xbox and this game would have sold even more.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 MechAssault
Overall: ANY PERSON WHO HAS EVER PLAYED ANY KIND OF MECH GAME, THOUGHT OF PLAYING A MECH GAME, OR JUST LIKES TO BLOW THINGS UP, BUY THIS!!! It is an awesome game and it only gets better on Xbox Live.
Gameplay: Very easy to learn. There is an obvious difference between the slow and fast mechs however I would like to see even more of a difference. The small mechs are fast but not fast enough, it is still hard to dodge weapons. They need to be more agile so they can get out of the way.
Graphics: WOW!! The explosions and fully destructible environment are very nice. It is always cool to blow down a bridge with an enemy mech under it and watch them get crushed. The mechs are very highly detailed as are the explosions. The weapons are also very well done.
Audio: Sound is alright. The explosions are good but get a little repetetive. There should be friendly mechs who follow you around and talk to you or even put a cooperative mode for Xbox Live so you can talk to the person.
Suggestions: Make it so it can hold more than 8 players. Add more multiplayer maps, more mechs, and a much longer single player campaign. Overall, well done.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Madden NFL 2003
Overall: AWESOME GAME!!! I have no idea why people would buy 2K3 over this. NFL 2K3 is one of the worst football games I have ever played. The graphics make me want to puke. Fever may be more arcade-like, but even that is better than 2K3.
Gameplay: Madden has ALWAYS been easy to master. The controls are very well done, however I would like to see the controls be the same in both NCAA and Madden. WHY ISN'T THERE ONLINE PLAY YOU CHEAP BASTARDS?!?! THAT IS THE ONE THING THAT TEARS THIS GAME DOWN!! ONLINE PLAY ON OTHER CONSOLES BUT NOT XBOX!! I HAD TO BUY FEVER TO PLAY A GAME ONLINE!!!
Graphics: Doesn't have the graphical quality of Fever, but Madden is also a hell of a lot better than NFL 2K3. The graphics are well done, but could have been better. The detail in the players is good but I would like to see a little more facial detail.
Audio: Sound is alright. The announcing is done pretty well, but needs improvement. It needs to be a little less repetetive and also, Madden can get really annoying. The players need to talk trash after a great stop on 3rd and 1.
Suggestions: ONLINE PLAY!! GIVE ME ONLINE PLAY!! I WILL HUNT EVERY SINGLE DEVELOPER DOWN AND KILL THEM IF 2004 DOESN'T HAVE ONLINE PLAY!!! Make the announcing less repetetive and make the facial details on players better.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 NBA 2K3
Overall: This game rocks!! The guy who just reviewed this game before me must be on crack. He doesn't know what he is talking about. We should all ban EA games on Xbox until they give us online play!!!!!!!!!! NBA 2K3 is awesome online! NBA Live isn't realistic and that is probably why the last guy likes it so much. He just can't handle a more realistic defense like there is in this game. If you want more of an arcade game, where you can drive to the hoop and make jumpers every time, go for live. If you want a more realistic game with online play, THIS IS THE PERFECT GAME FOR YOU!!!!
Gameplay: Very smooth and very well done. Saving balls as they go out of bounds has never been better. Calling for a double team or pick has never been easier. The defense has been really amped up and won't let you drive without a fight. However, I would like to see them jump to stop a shot a little bit better. They always jump too late.
Graphics: The graphics are very nice. Better than both Inside Drive and Live. The characters are very detailed and you can tell who the player is from the face instead of the name on the back of the jersey. The coaches are also nice detailed.
Audio: Average. The announcing is alright, but even though they have alot to say they really never get into the game and there is no excitement. Get ESPN to really get into the game when announcing, that will help the players get more into it also. Also, have the players say stuff after making a nice dunk rather than just showing off.
Suggestions: Add more unlockables, like old teams and players. Make it so we can make Byrd and Magic go one on one. Make street scrimmage have a one on one gameplay, rather than just two on two up to five on five. Improve the commentary and the players so the players talk a little trash after good plays. Make the computer defense better at reading when someone is going to shoot. Make a 2K4!!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Shenmue 2
Overall: Just an average game. It didn't really impress me in any aspect of it. The fighting was pretty nice and pretty easy to control, and that was it's only strongpoint. Ever since this was announced I thought it would be amazing, but Sega really didn't seem to put much thought into this game. It looks as if it were made for Dreamcast, not Xbox.
Gameplay: Gameplay is a strongpoint in this game. The fighting is easy to learn and is the main fun part of the game, however there isn't enough of it. Most of the fights are done by pressing buttons when they flash on the screen, which isn't as much fun as being able to control your moves. Sega should have made the gameplay less linear though and made it so that there could be more things to do, because even though the area is very big, there is really not much to do except the objective.
Graphics: Horrible! This is obviously a Dreamcast port. Sega put no effort into improving the graphics. Since this was an "Only on Xbox" game, Sega should have really tried to make the game use the Xbox's power. This game really failed in the graphics department.
Audio: Repetitive. The voices suck and are really repetetive. The characters say the same things over and over and over again. There really needs to be more sound in this game and more background noises of what's going on around you in the city, then it would be better. Also, have the NPC's say more than just two things and for God's sake get different people to do their voices!!
Suggestions: If you make a Shenmue 3, again make it Only on Xbox. Make the graphics worthy of the Xbox, add more sounds, both for characters and background, add an online world to the game, and make the gameplay less linear.
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 NCAA Football 2003
Overall: This game is completely awesome. This is easily the best college football game ever made, and one that the pro games should have looked to because honestly, the pro games were not very good this year.
Gameplay: The gameplay is solid and responsive. It is very easy to learn and understand. There are only a few issues I had with the gameplay, and that is just to speed up the characters a little bit.
Graphics: THIS GAME HAS AWESOME GRAPHICS!! I was awed when I first played this game. I have never seen a college game look so good. The mascots and player details are very detailed. Normally, college games looked rushed and the graphical quality is low, but this game looked just as good as Madden 2003.
Audio: The sound in this game is good, but could be better. I would like to see some better announcers next year. These ones were good in the sense that they had a lot of different phrases, but next year I want more funny phrases and also a little more excitement. I want to hear the accouncer get excited when I make a great play.
Suggestions: Keep on making the series better, pumping up the graphics and making the announcers better. Make some harder hitting tackles and also make it so that when someone is diving with the ball, if you hit them they stop or even fly back instead of just keeping on diving forward. Also, work out some of the gameplay issues, making the game run smoother and a little bit faster. Make this game and Madden compatible with system link and XBox Live. Also, try to name the players instead of just giving them numbers. Also, make it so that this game and Madden can both update themselves by going online and getting the new roster changes every year and updated stats.
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 NFL Blitz 2002
Overall: This game is worthy of the Blitz franchise. I am happy to see that Midway has started over from scratch on this one. You will be enthralled from beginning to end of every game. Of course, like all Blitz games, this one is better with friends than it is in Single-player.
Gameplay: Perfect gameplay. I have always enjoyed the Blitz series because of the easy and responsive controls. There are only a few buttons you need to take full control of the game. It is so fast-paced that there doesn't need to be a variety of buttons like in other simulation sports games like NFL Fever. This is just off-the-top fun. The movements are fast and easy to learn, and the tackles in this game are amazing. I love it every time when I see a runner getting flipped and then my guy do an elbow drop onto his hurting body, followed by "What did you say about my momma?"
Graphics: I have always respected the Blitz games because of their graphics. This game has excellent graphics and is eye-candy in most parts. However, I would like to see a more detailed football rather than a traditional orange blob, or rather, a giant orange blob in the shape of a football. It would be nice if it was brown and had laces and such. Even though it would be nice to see details in areas like that and also to see a little more reaslistic catches (rather than the ball just appearing in the players hand), you hardly notice anything because of the fast-pace. This game isn't meant for realism, it's meant to be hard-hitting and fun.
Audio: AAAAHHHHHHH! OH YEAH!!!! I have always loved the grunts, taunts, announcers, and moans of the players. It's cool when you completely demolish a player and then hear him on the ground in pain while you stand over him laughing or taunting him. Things like this are legendary in the Blitz series. However, this game does not have as many taunts and accouncing phrases as in some of the past games.
Suggestions: Make the next one able to play online, I want to test out my skills. Also, it would be nice to have a 16 game tournament or be able to play with up to 8 players by hooking up 2 Xbox's. I would like to see a little more detail in the catching and running, and more variety of tackles, taunts, and announcing. Keep up the good work though! This is by far the best arcade football game ever made.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Star Wars: Starfighter - Special Edition
Overall: Another disappointing release from LucasArts. This isn't an Xbox game, it looks like a PS1 port. It sucks, plain and simple.
Gameplay: The movement of the Starfighter is very rocky and not very easy. When flying in a canyon you'll notice that your not even near the rocks yet somehow you keep hitting them?
Graphics: AAAAAHHHHH!!!! TAKE IT AWAY!! TAKE IT AWAY!!! I WOULD RATHER BE PLAYING PERFECT DARK!!! These graphics are horrible, did LucasArts must have alot of spots open in their game designing department because they are not doing their job. No detail anywhere.
Audio: Grrr....still the same old Star Wars music that dies out within two games. Why can't they add anything new?
Suggestions: DON'T BOTHER MAKING ANOTHER XBOX GAME!!! Unless you plan on using the Xbox's capabilities, then just stop trying. I want better graphics, I want detail, I want beautiful landscaps, I want more!!!
Overall Score: 3.0 / 10 Star Wars: Obi-Wan
Overall: This game was really disappointing. I expected more from LucasArts. I thought they would at least TRY to take advantage of the Xbox's capabilities.
Gameplay: The controls are generally easy, but I would like to see some more details in the movements. It looks like something from the SUPER NES. I can't stand this game.
Graphics: This is the worst part of the game. I have never seen graphics this bad since the Super NES. I mean, there is no detail anywhere. I look at Obi-Wan's face and what do I see? A flat shape with two dots for eyes and a slightly curved nose with a mouth that basically stays shut. This looks like it was originally designed for the PlayStation 1.
Audio: The sound is average. It gets old really fast though. It's just the same old Star Wars music every time.
Suggestions: I NEED MORE GRAPHICS!!!!!! This game is lacking in every part. I wouldn't make a sequel because this game sucks. I see no good part about it. How about making Obi-Wan look like him?
Overall Score: 2.0 / 10 Halo: Combat Evolved
Overall: Okay, I bought this game five months ago, and I am still in love with it. That should give you an idea as to how great it is. Anyone will love this game, it's more addicting then anything else out there. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!
Gameplay: The gameplay is soooooo easy to master. I had full control within about half an hour. All the buttons fit easily into your hand (i.e. it's easy to jump by pressing the "A" button with your thumb and shoot an enemy with the "R" button at the same time, making it easier to aim for the head and get a kill and dodging shots at the same time). The aliens are SOOOOOO cool. I love it when you kill a Covenant and they scream or they say things like "No! Not again!" It's just plain awesome.
Graphics: The graphics are mind-blowing. I didn't expect much from this game when I bought it, but as soon as I turned it on I had to blink a few times. Master Chief, the main character, is detailed down to reflecting the surroundings in his eye visor on his helmet. Also, the way he moves and the way the marines move look real, and when you crouch, your knee actually goes down and touches the ground!! Beautiful!! Everything is detailed in this game, water, vehicles, marines, Master Chief, sentinels, the Covenant aliens, the Flood mutants, everything!! I once zoomed in on a marine's face 10x with the sniper rifle and was blown away when I saw symbols scrolling down his eyepiece!!! I mean, those are microscopic, you can't even see them without zooming in and yet they are so detailed.
Audio: The music is extraordinary, they really set the pace. Although, it would be nice to be able to load some Drowning Pool's "Let the bodies hit the floor" while I'm taking out the flood by the masses.
Suggestions: I want online now!!! Also, I would like to be able to use the hunter's weapon and also that plasma launcher that explodes once the covenant carrying it drops it. Maybe add a hand-to-hand weapon that you can use like a plasma sword, and maybe be able to whip some people with the Flood's arms :) Please add some more weapons, I love variety, and make the shotguns more common!! I want to be able to load my own music while I'm playing. Also, have save points in cooperative mode. Hmm...add more levels, add more multiplayer levels, add more vehicles. :) THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Dead or Alive 3
Overall: Ok, this game is pretty nice. I mean, the graphics blow you away the first time you turn it on, and there is alot of ass-kicking. But after about 10 hours, or after you beat the game (which is very easy), the game dies out.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty easy. The buttons and combos are normally easy to do. Except, I would like to see the moves in English instead of Japanese, I never know what move I am doing.
Graphics: The graphics are the best I have EVER seen. I mean, they blow you away. Detail everywhere, in the environment and the characters. The chicks are hot, and the guys look buff.
Audio: The sound is average. The music isn't that great but it's alright. I would like to hear what the people are saying in English, I don't like to read subtitles.
Suggestions: ADD UNLOCKABLE ITEMS!!!! I beat the game in an hour. It is way too easy. And after beating it I didn't even earn a special video or any characters or outfits. I would love an online feature. Also, I need more depth. The game gets old way too fast without any storyline to it.
Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 NHL Hitz 2002
Overall: THIS GAME ROCKS!!! Ahem. Anyways, go out and get this, right now. If you love NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, or any hardcore sim sports game then this is for you. I suggest picking it up right away.
Gameplay: The gameplay itself is perfect. Easy controls, hard hits, good accouncers, excellent create-a-team feature, and overall fun. This has everything that the Blitz series has. You'll get addicted to the fast-pace and the hard hits really fast especially when you start knocking players out of the rink and making them do backflips. It's no Halo, but it's alot better than NHL 2002, especially if your looking for pure fun. This is non-stop, 3-on-3 action. And really, you won't even notice that you have 3 players because the game itself moves so quickly and smoothly, it will feel just like a real hockey game, except better.
Graphics: The graphics are very detailed. The movement is smooth and real eye-candy. The goalies have all of their pads and the crowd is actually 3-D, which is the first time I have ever seen that in a sports sim. There is only some minor details that you might not notice, such as the puck not always moving naturally or sometimes the stick doesn't actually make contact with the puck and stuff like that. However, this does not remove any of the fun and lasting appeal.
Audio: The sound is nice. I love the music and the ability to load your own. The announcers are really good, better than in most sports games. Although I would like to hear some new stuff added. I would also like to be able to hear my own music while I'm playing.
Suggestions: Can't wait for NHL Hitz 2003. Keep up the good work. Make the movement of the stick and puck together a little more smooth, I want to see the slapshot actually hit the puck. Also, make it so that the goalie can catch the puck instead of it just bouncing off. I would like to hear some new announcing lines to keep it random, and I would also like to be able to hear my music in the game. Possibly add an online feature?
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
