Overall: This game is one of the worst games i have played in a long time. The controls are rediculous and impossible. The in car controls are alright, but chasing the same car through traffic that if you mess up once you fail is reatarded. The shooting is a challenge but falls short when the story is dumb.
Gameplay: As i said before the controls are difficult if not imposssible to get used too. If you switch back to another game and then come back to this one it is like you have to learn all over again. I hate missions that you get all the way to the end and the you turn too wide and lose. The shooting is kind of fun, but is nothing like a shooter and this game falls short compared to its predecessors.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty amazing and definitly beats GTA and other games in its genre. The only problem is that you get so frustrated while playing this game you dont really notice.
Sound: The sounds are pretty realistic, but the gameplay ruins the rest of this game. I guess the voice overs are pretty good and you cant go wrong with celebrity acting.
Suggestions: Please make the game btter by making the controls more generic and you will have an okay game. They spent more time on promoting than actual testing.

Overall: Atari, Atari, Atari, what happened? It sounded and looked so great, but I guess it was to good to be true.
Gameplay: I hate bad controls and this game has them. That is everything outside of the car, the in-car controls are good but then again how can you mess that up? I couldn't play this game with the bad controls so I don't know if this game is long or short.
Graphics: The high point of the game, the explosions, vehicles, and environments all look good and are immersing.
Sound: All the sounds are realistic from the footsteps of the players to the sounds of the vehicles and weapons.
Suggestions: Fix the controls!

Overall: sick! This game has had the best graphics and renders in games that I have seen up to date. I really enjoyed playing this game and I have been playing it over and over again.
Gameplay: I dont like the way the shooting is, I agree, and it is usuallyunfair during fights. But if you're good at shoot-em-ups, then you will most likely accumilate your enemy's weapons and use those to kill off the next bunch --- dont be an !&%$@#* and die all the time.
Graphics: Has to be no. 2 or 3 in graphcis so far. And when it first came out--no. 1!

The faces and hands look real, perfect blurring and animated focus. The vehicles were gracefully carved and sculpted to a tee.

Best graphics for a car game, best graphics for humans and clothing -- but the water sucks. Oh yah, the raods and everything are the best also. fucking brilliant.
Sound: Cinematics have great sound. OTher than that, not really too too bad, but not a 5 rating, thats for sure.
Suggestions: Better story line. It was good but not great, ya know?

Overall: I seriously hate this game with a passion. Driv3r is driving/shooting game following in the gta series. Don't waste your money here, and buy the gtas.
Gameplay: Wow... If you compared Grand theft auto's controls and driv3r, you would also think the controls are garbage. The driving is okay... But the shooting system is the pits... You usually have a pistol, while the A.I. has an uzi and guess who ends up dying? Also, why the hell can't you turn your body????? You can only go straight and strattle to side to side.
Graphics: Visuals are one of the highlights of this game. It's above some games in graphics, but a game can not be saved by graphics alone. They executed well, on the cut scenes.
Sound: Sound was average. The gunshots were average, the voices were pretty good. It sounded ver cartoonish to me...
Suggestions: Save yourself money and don't even try to make a next game. I stopped playing immediately after giving this game a try.

Overall: Ok this game is awesome, Yes there are a few cons to the game but they are few and far between. If you like gta type games only with better graphic get this NOW!!! It truly is a great game. There are a few glitches here and there such as the screen lagging when there is alot of commotion but it is raree
Gameplay: alright the shooting isn't that great but honestly you can invert the view speed up the reticle etc and it really isn't that bad. could it be improved? for sure.

Another complaint was the motorcycle. ARE YOU NUTS? the motorcycle is awesome it just takes some skill. Some things I agree with like the lamposts being indestructible.
Graphics: unreal, graphics are awesome
Sound: great soundtrack

Overall: It's kinda good. It's not great. The aiming's the worst i've seen in any kind of game. But the driving's fun.
Gameplay: The gameplay's good. Lamp posts are undestructible wich doesn't help the game. And there's a mature rating when there isn't even blood!
Graphics: It's nice. It's not great. I cant say much about the visuals. An effort could've been done here.
Sound: I think the sound's good. You can put your soundtrack in the game wich is why the sounds aare very simple throughout the game.
Suggestions: Try a bit harder on your next game, if there ever is.

Date reviewed: August 12, 2004.

Overall: If you listen to what gamespot or Official Xbox Magazine has to say about Driv3r, then you don't know the true thrill of Driv3r. OXM and gamespot probably didn't like the undercover mode and the glitches. I truly loved this game. The variety goes from a speedy go kart to an 18 wheeler. You can now get out of your car, blow it to pieces with a grenade laucher and drive away in a parked car nearby. Three cities, Miami, Nice and Istanbul were trown in and each modified for pure thrill. There is no way that this game deserves a 4.8 out of 10. This is the ultimate of thrill. Not to mention the damage mode. You can shash your car till it matches the one in the junkyard or simply blast the heck out of it with an assualt rifle. Either way, this game totally rocks!!!
Gameplay: The gameplay is fun. The freedrive mode is what i spent all my time on. You can raise draw bridges and jump off cliffs.
Graphics: Stunning graphics. But there are a few glitches, but who cares?! The game completley belongs in an art museum!
Sound: TTTTTTTTTTT SSSSMMMSSSSSHHHHHHH. AAAAHHH music to my ears. The sound is great.
Suggestions: Make it a TEEN rating so my mom isn't so paranoyed, and add a few more trucks.

Gameplay: Gameplay is outstanding easy to learn its a Pick up and play game theres none of this totural first.
Graphics: The games visual asre just outstanding bit glitchy but other than that absalutley amazing so ill have to give this one a 5.0
Sound: The sounds are great each car smashed has theire own smashing shound each gun fired has their own firing sound This ill give 4.5

Hard Boiled Cop
Date reviewed: July 3, 2004.

Overall: The threequel to the Driver series but in the next gen consoles. You play as a hard boiled undercover cop who must infiltrate a gang of criminals to help them steal cars, forgot how many. Sounds similar to a movie that I once watched. Anywho since the success of the first two Driver games came from the strictly driving, this game furthers that by making it playable on foot with GUNS. I know the second driver game had on foot but not mission base and all you can do is hijack other cars. This new Driver copies the style of GTA but only 30% of the missions are based on foot, the rest are based on driving and thats when it stays true to its root.
Gameplay: You get to drive cars that handles like quite well but still feel a bit weird when you use the brakes but after a while you'll get use to it. The foot missions aren't exactly quite up to top marks though at least it has foot missions. If it doesn't then this game would be boring. You use the left thumbstick to move direction and right thumbstick to aim. It can be played in first or third person which is good thing but still it suffers from that aiming system. Its not even sensitive enough, I put the aim sensitivity right up to the highest and it still aims slow.
Car missions get quite tedious as well, you keep on restarting which is a pain.
The damage physics in cars are absolutely stunning and are the best I've seen in any game.
Bikes handle like !&%$@#* , I'm sorry but it does not handle like bikes you've played in GTA:VC.
Graphics: Visually it looks much better than GTA , True Crimes and mafia combined in terms of character models, especially cars and environments. It really does recreate the city of Miami, Nice and Istanbul quite nicely with a neat touch of climatic effects. What it lacks is details to interiors of a building. Not really polished and I find myself going to the same place at least twice.
Sound: The crashes sound great and so does the guns. I like how they included soundtracks from your hard drive for the xbox version. That also includes on foot, you can listen to music while running around shooting people which I thought GTA and True Crimes should've done. Overall I think its great.
Suggestions: Improve the aiming system.
Make full use of the city, I didn't get to drive around the whole of Miami, Nice and Istanbul, so that means more missions!! It was way too short.
Include multiplayer and this time with lots of other cars and people, not like in Driver 2.

Date reviewed: July 1, 2004.

Overall: Compleat Crap that is all i have to say for the over all description. The only thing the game has going for it is the graphics and driving.
Gameplay: Gameplay sucks on foot. Driving is good but there isnt enugh drivng. Who ever worked on the aiming in the game should be shot. YOU CAN'T SHOOT AT WHAT YOU WANT TO SHOOT AT! Its not funt when the A.I. can kill you before you can get the aiming reticule on him.
Graphics: The visuals are great. Everything is realistic. The explosions are great. There are a few short comings like there is no blood. Come on the game is rated mature but some blood in.
Sound: The sound is so so. Its not the best but not the worst. I dont like the music so thank god i play my own music.
Suggestions: FOR GODS SAKE DID YOU PLAY THE WALKING PORTIONS OF THE GAME AFTER YOU DEVLOPED IT. There horribale. The contorls suck. Tanner can't turn he only strifes. I hate having to turn the camera to turn Tanner. And who came up that crapy aiming system. I mean come on. You realy ether are shooting rite below the bad guys feet or 10 feet above his head.

Overall: Very similar to GTA except better - better graphics/sound/gameplay..... Need I say more......

Well yes I will, this game has some serious bugs..... DO not walk on anything you crash into (i.e. fences, gates, bins). If you walk onto these items you will get trapped.... I have just had to quit the games as Tanner just stands there like a demented terrier....

Game is GOOD, originality is NON-EXISTENT....
Gameplay: Driving is realistic yet very playable...

Walking around is a bit naff as Tanner gets trapped on the smallest piece of stuff....

Gun aiming is a bit laborious....
Graphics: Spot On.....

Why didn't you take as much care with the sound and gameplay as yo udid with the visuals??? Oh Why....

Sod this driver malarky - make some bloomin Gods games will you???
Sound: They exist - nothing much more to say.... .
Suggestions: Don't bother with number 4 until you have some decent developers in.... I have some great ideas for some games....

Overall: The first Driver in 1999 was a tight game, it was the first to include damage phisics and it was fun to play, the missions were tense and one thing i didnt like was the graphics and you couldnt walk around. But wait! part 2 came out, you got to walk around this time but nothing more, it felt lackluster. NOW part 3 comes out, and i have to say this is one fine looking game. The car models are done good as well as the scenery, guns, people, and water boats, EVERYTHING. You also can go on foot and shoot everything, Tanner has a home now, one in each country, and he is living good! Oh yea he can swim.
Gameplay: You are Tanner, you need to stop criminals on foot and in the car. These car chases are extreme. Thier is this one car chase in Nice were you are in back of a van shooting out cars that are trying to destroy you, the visuals are stunning, everything is modeled exactly the way it should be. And you can choose to save the replay so later you can add speacial touches to it, like add some blur effects, slow the camera down or just have added camers to get the better effect of an action movie, and after you finish your mini movie, as i like to call it, you can upload it to xbox live were people can view it and vote on it.
Graphics: Overall an A+++++...I remember back in 1999 when i said if only this game looked as good as it plays, and i got my wish, its all that and more. Its on par with the look of Midtown Madness and Wreckless yet is far more supior in driving, handling and fun factor.
Sound: Sound is what makes the game i think, and with surround sound the game takes advantage of it, you hear bullets fly everywere and explosions sound crisp to the ear. Overall an excellent voice acting cast with enjoyable effects.
Suggestions: Dri4er, xbox live game modes, fix the on foot missions, the gun and control scheme.

Date reviewed: June 24, 2004.

Overall: The driving in this game is awesome, which it should be, given the name Driver 3. I think what the developer tried to do was to copy the GTA model of adding shooting, yet they didn't look at what actually made GTA fun.
If you are thinking about picking this up, rent it first. Some seem to love it despite the horrible on foot portions. Some seem to love it.

I decided to up my score to 4 because the missions in Nice are a little better, some are harder, and the shooting seems to be less intrusive in small corridors.
Gameplay: The shooting portions of this game are unplayable. In every firefight you either end up aiming at the ground or at the air. There is no sensitivity setting that will change this. The on foot portions are CRAP. OK, so this wouldn't be that big of a problem if it was focused mainly on the driving. WRONG. The on foot portions end up being closer to HALF of the game. AND add the fact that the shooting parts are hard, you end up replaying these missions over and over and over and over again, just because you can't turn quick enough when you enter a room, so you get a shotgun in your face.
The driving part is beautiful. I love smashing into cars chasing them down. I love running from cops. I love it. Unfortunately, there isn't enough of this in the game. I end up flying by the driving missions and crawling through the shooting portions.....

Graphics: The graphics are beautiful. But come on, how long can I look at the pretty crome on the cars before it gets boring. Good visuals do not make a good game.
Sound: The sound... well it is there. I never really notice it except when you top out the motors in some cars. This makes it sound like you are redlining it. Kind of annoying. Still, good sound effects overall, and OK music.
Suggestions: FOCUS ON DRIVING. I could give a crap less about shooting people in a game called DRIVER. How is it that a game like Halo or Max Payne can make it SO easy to shoot, yet this game is so horrible. They must not have had play-testers. I would not have let this game be released in this state.

Also, NO ONE CARES HOW GOOD THE CUT SCENES LOOK LIKE! The writing, if there ever actually was any, is horrible. I wish they would have spend less time making cut-scenes and more time making the game better. Do they even have a writer? It seems like the story was thrown together by the programmers.

Overall: Cripes, it's the third one, you know what it is already... Hype multiplied by a million!
I'd actually give it an 8.9
Gameplay: You're Tanner, the cop gone Driver; again.
Only this time, better graphics, you can steal cars and swim.
More of a Sandbox.
You'll buy this if you got Driver one and two. You'll like it if you got one & 2. Chances of you loving it are so-so. I like it a lot, but there are so many things that are frustrating, It could have been much better!
Graphics: Very itchy. Bugs all over the place! Frame rate is at 30 fps. I'm not positive but that's how it looks. Is this Normal Mapped - Optimized for PS2!? It's still alright though. Sure as heck ain't no Morrowind or Deus Ex...
I'd think it to be better than this but high five cables to plug it in and it only looks this good! Is this Xbox or what?!
7 for Descent, 1 for huge, zero for water and zero for bump mapping.
Sound: The sounds are good but I was pretty fired up about the Dobly Digital that it said on the package. Now, there's a HUGE plus when you get a game that supports 5.1, but I didn't really hear it the way I normally hear it (i.e.)- Halo, Brute Force, Ninja Gaiden, Morrowind -
In fact I even double checked the box to see if it was Dolby Pro Logic instead of Digital but nope, it's digital. I don't know how... Oh well, I didn't program it.
7 for the songs and Jukebox. Zero for worst surround sound ever.
Suggestions: BUGS! I forgot my Off! bug spray.
Is it possible to make one for PC and port it to PS2 instead of porting it from that old machine? I mean, why!?

Overall: wow, i cant wait for this... it isnt out yet but it is definetly going to be great!! it has to be good... this game sets the pace for its genre... gta trails in its footsteps... or you could say, trails in its dust. just 1 or two more days... and then it is mine!!
Gameplay: well, from what i heard you can switch to 1st person view outside of the car... i like the sound of that... and thankfully there is no crappy autolock feature... it is a car chase simulator, and i like the sound of that.
Graphics: hey, it looks good... very good, and i just hope that they have upped the pace on the graphics on the xbox port... but either way, no doubt about it... this is looking great.
Sound: its got to be great, they have real hollywood actors... top singers... and all i can hope for is that you can rip your own tracks!! its got to be good.
Suggestions: please no more delays... it is due out in 2 days... and i want it then!!..... there have already been so many delays!! they must be worth it... they better be!!
