Driver Adaptation Coming To The Silver Screen
Production on the upcoming Driver movie adaptation is gathering some momentum, according to sources close to the project. Germany-based Constantin Film and its subsidiary on the production-side, Impact Pictures in Los Angeles, are extending their cooperation for the movie based on Reflections cinematic action series. James DeMonaco (The Negotiator, Assault on Precinct 13), Todd Harthan and James Roday will collaborate on the films script, which may not necessarily be based on any particular game in the series. Bernd Eichinger of Constantin Film and Impact founders Jeremy Bolt and Paul WS Anderson will produce the film, although its not yet clear who will direct. Robert Kuzler, head of production at Constantin Film in Los Angeles will be taking the role of executive producer. So far, Impact/Constantin have already pulled off one of the most commercially successful movie adaptions of a videogame with the Resident Evil film starring Milla Jovovich -- the sequel, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, is on its way to U.S. theaters in mid-July. Besides Resident Evil and Driver, Constantin is also moving forward with its Dead Or Alive movie. Hong Kong action veteran Corey Yuen (The Transporter) has been confirmed to direct the adaption of Tecmos 3D fighting series.Source: http://www.1up.com
