Overall: Mad Dash Racing is a game you do on feet. Race there and do whatever it takes to win. Power slides, rail grinding, dive tackles, and energy boosting is some things you can do in this game. You also have to dodge things unless it will slow you down. The game is ok, I would recommend a rental only. However, if you have little kids around I am sure this would be enjoyable for them.
Gameplay: Game is too repeative. You can dodge things, power slide, dive tackle, and have energy boosts but I think this game is aimed at for little kids and that's probably why I didn't buy this my little brother did.
Graphics: Graphics are ok, I think it could be way better with what the xbox has to offer on the table. So needs some improvements in this area.
Sound: Sounds ok, no custom soundtrack so boo hoo. There is some music however like: Moby, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, Propellerheads, Mephisto Odyssey, Uberzone, Meat Beat Manifesto, MDFMK, and Juno Reactor.

Overall: Mad Dash Racing- Just enough MAD, Way too much DASH and not enough RACING, it's a nice idea for a game, it's pretty cutesie poo, aimed at little kids, far to repetative and boring.
Gameplay: The control all seems in place but far too cute and repetative, not enough to do and not enough variation, you'll end up playin it with your eyes closed.
Graphics: Looks allright, but not what you would expect on xbox, but its all little kid looking, so I guess its allright seeing it fits in
Sound: boringggggg..... I ended up turning a cd on in the background to keep me awake

Overall: Has some good music, ok SFX, and decent GFX. The game play doesn't last too long, so i recomend you rent it at most.
Gameplay: The AI slows down for you... Its annoying, i like a challenge, the levels have lots of "stuff" for you to conquer, they are really good levels. Its a simple game, too simple :
Graphics: Pretty cool cut sceens, but they get old after the first time. Very Excelent level design, VERY good, big, fun, and pretty well detailed, but nothing a LameCube couldn't do. Excelent level design, VERY good!
Sound: Good music, its got some Moby, and stuff. The designers got some good taste.

Overall: Well this was the first game i got for xbox and i was a little dissapointed but I had very high expectations. A couple of my friends are obsessed with it but its probably just not my type of game and its e-z to loose track of where your going on the coarses.
Gameplay: I guess if you like racing games you'll probably like this. You can pick from like 12 different character and like 3 different groups, bashes, dashers or flyers and they all have special ablilities and theres like 9 levels which you vary from about 4-11 minutes to finsih each one
Graphics: Probably best part about this game. Best usage of color i think out of most xbox game has a nice fantasy/ cartoony touch with very smooth graphics.
Sound: The sound is also very good all the characters have a totally different voice and some are quiet amusing to listen to.
Suggestions: Hmmm well if it were up to me make different kinds of games but if you happen to make a sequel more levels and different things you can do in it and easier to see where the **** your going courses.

Overall: this is another one of those games that people are giving way too high of scores to. it's an average racer, with less than average sound and graphics yet some people like throwing 5's out like a mall Santa giving out 50 cent coupons.
Gameplay: it is fun for a while. but it's just animals running. at least some of the mario titles you can drive and fly. the mad dash and mad bash are just coy names for power-ups and these are pretty ineffective. some of the controls (climbing) are just plain bad. this title gets old really quick and it's in an over-stocked genre so it'll be forgotten soon.
Graphics: a bit below average. you really don't look at them when you're racing, but if you stop and look around, everything seems pieced together and rushed.
Sound: below average. there's very limited sound when racingl you'll be better off with the stereo on and you won't miss out on anything.

Date reviewed: July 9, 2002.

Overall: If you can get around the framerate hiccups and seemingly unnecessary load times, this game is a worthy purchase and addition to your XBOX library, but be warned you may tire of single player mode after many play hours.

Gameplay: This game is easy to play, and can get addictive quickly. Running, jumping, using powerups, and most importantly picking the right path through the 5-minute-plus long boards is all part of the game. There are several different characters, which all have strengths, weaknesses, unique personalities, and special abilities to help them win the race. This is also an excellent multiplayer game as well, which will provide you and 3 friends with lots of fun. Load times are, however, an issue sometimes; in single player mode, it takes 10 seconds to load before and after you run a race, then another 3 seconds to load "player data" once the menu screen to pick the next race comes up. Multiplayer doesn't have the "player data" delay, but it still has the 10 second track load. Lastly, there is the replay value, which may be an issue for some here. Though the tracks are huge and varied, there aren't many of them, so you may get tired of single player mode after many hours of play.

Graphics: Mad Dash has fantastic graphics, with bright colors, huge expansive tracks, and blistering speeds - at times. Unfortunately, the framerate sometimes drops below 30fps during play. At the beginning of every race, the camera pans around the starting line to show all of the racers; and, every time it gets the sides of all four in view it stutters, dropping below 30fps for a second. While running, you will see slowdown occasionally depending on the board, and the number of racers in your field of view; the underwater board seemed to have the most instances of slowdown. In 2-4 player multiplayer mode, there are even more hiccups, and in 2 player mode the splitscreen is vertically squashed. This game is centered around speed, so framerate hiccups do detract from the overall experience.
Sound: Mad Dash supports Dolby Digital 5.1, and has a moderately aggressive soundtrack. Sound effects and music are both very good as well. The only thing that brings Mad Dash down is that you can't use your own CD-ripped soundtracks; however, you do get to pick and choose which of the songs you want to hear while playing Mad Dash from the selection Eidos licensed.

Megaherz *RAGE*
Date reviewed: July 9, 2002.

Overall: Company of today make game more original than it's was ten years ago. For the racing game we got plenty of them who put the gamer in a car and Eidos try to do a new type of racing to change the category. Does it's work ? I am sure that most gamers who try Mad dash racing are proud of Eidos. Imagine, you can slide on a ramp or on a half pipe, do trick in the air, throw thing like Mario Kart or Artic thunder on x-box and choose original character. Like i do my review habitually, i will talk about the story. Here we got nothing that really impress me because it's talking about a vilain who do race for fun and he invite all the greatest runners. Something that make me sick about the game is the story mod, it's took me approximatly 5 hour to pass it, of course we can do something else like the challenge to have more complication but it's not enough. In conclusion, Mad Dash Racing have all it got to be the greatest game except for the story. It's should be more longer to be a must have and naturally more race : six or seven is not enough againt.
Gameplay: Nothing is really difficult in Mad dash, all you have to do is running and take shortcut. But they add little meteorites that help to take them and drink to use your special power. Ok everybody believe that Mad dash is a racing game that work only with you feet, but you also take your hand to climb and with all that stuff we are able to use both tumbstick. In fact it's look like a marathon and not a race. It's seems to be a new genre of racing and we probably got more fun than a normal racing game.
Graphics: Ok it's a toon graphic but i just don't care because i really like it that way, it's so fantactic to see character that was really well done with beautiful background. Visualy it seems to be one of the best toon graphic ever done on a console. I hate to say that i love a kind of game that was made for child ( everyone but adult we will hate that ) but trust me it's really cool.
Sound: I will never forget the song at the end. It is called Mad Dash Racing like the game but i don't remember who did it. I recommand to you to download it from AudioGalaxy. If we are talking about the voices, i could say there were funny. Nothing else should be said about the sound because it's was great !
Suggestions: Good game are always short, so make it longer and with more races. Also i want more competitor to run through the levels ( at least eight should do ).

Overall: Hmmm I rented this just to rent I suppose, It is indeed more fun than a normal racing game. It does make you work for it when climbing up or Swiming. Which is probably part of the excitment.

Gameplay: Hmmm Not to bad on gameplay the only thing I was not happy about was the fact that certain parts of each level you Do NOT know where to go, WHY? you ask? well because you are not running an obstical course you are running and trying to Climb up Vines and Walls with no step ladders which makes it a tad hard to tell what direction you are going next UP Down or Swiming ect ect which SEPERATES this game from so many racing games!
Graphics: I am not nocking the visual looks BUT I do realize why this game is so good. Because they ended up making it in a 3D cartoonish Coloring look. Which I can really understand because how real is a Rat or a Bear with a jet pack in real life anyway? So I am not going to Nock the Cartoon ish 3D Flesh.
Sound: I would say this is actualy impressive Most of the XBox's games I have played have been Poor in the Sound department, Finally this one has Decent Sound!!
Suggestions: Nope, No suggestions, This isn't a game you try and make another one of Nothing to Improve.

Overall: Mad Dash Racing's single player could only occupy the attencion span of a person 10 and younger. The races get repetitive after a while, but it is a decent multiplayer game though, the use of a physical attack on another person is almost imposible because of the fast speed of a race.
Gameplay: The races are fast paced but are very hard to get used to. The use of twirling the joystick to swim and climb was a good idea and the different types of runners is cool but overall the gameplay is subpar.
Graphics: The Cartoony graphics are unique and each player has a special characteristic about themselves whether being able to fly, or run faster for example. The levels are nicely detailed but get boring after playing the thing over and over. Finding shortcuts in a level is a cool thing to put in the game.
Sound: The sound is decent until you hear it many times. The players voices are cool at times but are repetitive after being the same person over and over.
Suggestions: Add the ability to use songs from the hard drive to play during races and just improve the game overall.

Date reviewed: May 30, 2002.

Overall: This is the only game of its kind on Xbox. You'd think a game like this is aimed more at kids, but it isn't. It's hard, and it also has a teen rating. There are ten huge levels, but they might get old after a while.
Gameplay: The controls are simple. Jump, run, and fly/dash/bash. However, swimming and climbing are difficult and annoying. You must rotate the right analog stick, while steering. This is kind of difficult. It's also hard to get used to the shortcuts, and in order to get them you have to know about them ahead of time. If you know all the shortcuts, and your playing against a friend, they won't get them the first time. This makes the races get old, and its unfair for your friend
Graphics: The graphics in this game aren't bad, but they're nothing phenomenal. It has some interesting shading techniques used, and the characters look kind of unique.
Sound: The sound in this game is somewhat decent. The sound effects are o.k., but the game has a small selection of songs. What the game is really lacking is the ability to burn your own soundtrack. With this feature, the game would be much more enjoyable.

Overall: If you like cart based racers, you will love this game. It takes some getting used to because you are using running characters instead of driving ones. It's all good though, because it's easy to get used to the running part. There are several different characters from which to choose and they are all pretty fun to use. Mad Dash has lasting overall appeal.
Gameplay: The gameplay takes a little getting used to, but once you are used to the controls and the fact that the players are runing, it is addicitve. My wife and I stayed up all night playing because we were having so much fun we just couldn't stop. The different weapons are easy to use and at times also provide you with a good laugh. The powers the different classes of racers have are tight. There is something for everyone, whether you want to bash, dash, or glide your way through the course. The ability to become able to use all three abilities is a big plus. The gameplay appeal is excellent.
Graphics: The graphics are excellent. I love it when a developer makes a game that takes advantage of all of the xbox's capabilities. Eidos has certainly done that. The visual appeal of this game is nothing less than stunning.
Sound: The sound appeal is excellent. How could it not be? It uses 5.1 in the game! The things the characters say add a little humor, but the main appeal of the sound can be found in the excellent soundtrack, not to mention the ability to rip your own music. Unbelievable sound quality if you have a 5.1 receiver.
Suggestions: You could put a few more characters in the game and maybe some homing weapons, but this game is pretty much perfect.

Overall: This is an odd game that people say is a plaform but I really have no idea what it is. The graphics are okay, and the sound is average, but the gameplay is somewhat odd. I don't see any fun in racing-ON FEET. I think this game is just a cartoonish update to ESPN Track & Field (ewww!!)
Gameplay: I felt the gameplay in this was the big downside. I hardly found it the least bit appealing. I mean, running races on foot, what fun is that? The controls are easy to learn and would genrally reccomend this to the 10 & below XBox audience.
Graphics: The games graphics are average. There like any 3D platformer out there. Nothing special, but not that bad either.
Sound: The sound in this game is also average. Nothing really stands out and makes you say wow. Again though, I'm not saying that the sound is bad either.
Suggestions: If your going to make a platformer, make it. If your going to make a racer, make a racer. Don't get all freaky and make a hybrid that just doesn't work.

Overall: The game is pretty good, but I would recommend it for a multiplayer type of a game. I dont really like the mode. I think they could have made it better. But the levels are great and actually make it challanging to win. I think is a fairly well game. They could have made it a lot better though.
Gameplay: The game is good. But its only a really type of a multiplayer type of game. it gets boring by yourself sitting there playing agenst the computer. This game would be better if they added a lot more modes and a lot more challanging stuff.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good. Its in a cartoonish type stage but yet, there pretty good for just being like cartoons. They make some of the things look really cool.
Sound: The sound is pretty good. But what sound could you really put into a racing game, But yet they did a pretty good job in this area.
Suggestions: Add some more challanges to it. So you will want to play it, but not in a multiplayer mode.

Overall: WELL THE Demo in k-mart is what
first made me want to play this game.
I beat the demo and thought that this
game would be a good, fun game. It's sad that it's not as popular as halo
it's truely a fun and unique game it
has some ok music (i didn't really dig moby that much) three modes of play to master, I've only mastered one and a really good bonus at the end. After completing the game (witch i haven't done just yet) you
get a special septer that enables you to do all three character specific moves (dash, bash, glide)
I only wish the jerks would have let
me play my own music in the game, sure the music "fit" the game but I didn't think the music was that good
and music is such a big thing in racing games. What were they thinking
when they didn't take advantage of one of the xbox's main abillities?Leaving out mp3 playback of your own riped music was a major mistake and pissed me off alot but overall I really enjoyed it and was only mad becaus I had spent an hour riping track onto my x for this game
Gameplay: not alot of courses, nut alot of
paths and secrets to uncover. Multiplayer action isn't to shaby aswell, in fact it's pretty !&%$@#* ed fun wipping my bro at this game
Graphics: Hell it's the xbox, the graphics rocked like most games on this system
I didn't notice any lag no real big slow downs/s
Sound: Well, I Respect the fact that they
took the time to license tracks for the game, but why the hell leave out
mp3 playback on a racing game? muy malo. thats the whole reason I thought i'd buy it, catch some speed and listen to my fav tunes. I was very saden when I found that you couldn't play ur own tracks.
Suggestions: little less on the cartoon voices,
mp3 playback

Overall: Think Mario Kart. This game doesn't really shine until you get a few of your friends over and play multiplayer. Hope you have at LEAST a second joystick and a big TV.
Gameplay: Just like Mario Kart, Mad Dash's AI opponents will pretty much stay in step with you. If you go the wrong way down a track, make a ton of mistakes or whatever the opponents "wait" for you. Meanwhile if you hit everything perfectly they keep right up. Through some parts of the game it seems like you have a tractor beem in front of you pushing the leader. This might give the appearance of being competitive, but it really aggravates me. There are a TON of shortcuts in this game, but what is the point of taking them when the computer simply catches right up to you. The "real" race isn't until the last stretch 90% of the time, and I find myself often holding onto the chicken or ice freeze in order to get a jump on the computer going into the finish line. I would prefer beating the computer with some actual skill.

Multiplayer is good, but unlike Mario Kart Mad Dash does not have any course specifically designed for multiplayer mayhem. Weapons are pretty good, and it's a lot of fun icing someone just as they grab onto the rope bridge, or taunting them after chucking the heat seeking chicken after them (which sometimes takes a little while to catch up to them which just adds to the humor of it all). The fruit basket is the annoying weapon you try to rid yourself of ASAP, often acidently hitting yourself if your not careful.

Mu

iplayer:

4.5 out of 5
Single player: 2 out of 5
Graphics: Pretty good. Some of the background action alone is pretty breath taking. Everything is a little cartoonish - which enhances the atmosphere. The clockworks area and dragon are particularly impressive.

Sound: Some of the background music is pretty catchy. Point loss for not allowing us to play custom tracks burned onto the XBox's hard drive. Although some of the character's comments are amusing, they can quickly become a little annoying. Certainly not as annoying as Mario Kart's "Mama Mia!" cutesy voices though.
Suggestions: Overhaul the computer's AI. Let me win the game by taking shortcuts, out-racing them, and out-playing them.

Design some courses with muliple players in mind.

Overall: General summary: great party
game. The weapons have various
uses, the levels stay fresh and
some inovation is shown.

Gameplay: gameplay: the charectars are well
balanced and all of them are
interesting for the three minutes
you actully care. now to the "mad"
powers i was telling you about.
throughout each level there
meteor shards which when paired
with 9 others give you two special
abilities the mad dash and the
mad bash. the mad dash allows
you to run up very steep
hills(usually shortcuts). and the
mad bash lets you destroy a
damaged wall. thats in your way.
controls: unlike most racers you
can move freely throughout the
levels(via the left anolog stick)
since your charectar walks . this
proviides some extra control.
weapons are activated using the y
button. and the triggers are used
to activate your "mad" powers. Ill
explain below. the controls stay
tight but when sliding seem very
loose but matter any sliding
portion of a course directs you
automatically to the needed
direction. during certian portions
of levels you have
climb/swim/swing hand over hand
. To do this you have to spin the
right analog stick clockwise. This
seems annoying at first but it
gives you the advantage if you
loosing.
Graphics: graphics: with a very cartoony look,
it still shows xbox's potential by
having well detailed and huge
levels. most levels provide a good
amount of crativity with different
themes.
Sound: overall good work. the voice over
while repeated a lot still are funny.
but having the evil dr say the same
thing everytime you win is just lazy.
Suggestions: make the bosses a little easier or
make sure we know how to defeat
tehm it took me 20 tries to beat the
first boss and i have no idea how i
did defeat him.

Overall: The game is coo. I didnt think it was gonna be as good as it is. I just got it because the store didnt have another shopment coming in till later on in the week and all I had was PGR and THPS2x. I give the developers madd props tho. It reminds of a cartoon mario cart battle type/sonic adventure and speed. I still havent finished the game because like an idiot I didnt pick a Glider. I picked Sid and Betty. Stupid. But tha game is hella tight.
Gameplay: Love tha speed of the game. the response is great unlike many other racing games. I wont speak on the name tho.
Graphics: The game looks GREAT! Aside from the the fact that the characters were built very smoothly and the stages are kinda jacked. ITS GREAT! If the developers would have put as much time into the background as they did the characters, I'd be geekin over this game.
Sound: Never payed any attention to the sound. Thats probably because the game is so fast. I'll have to check it out. From what I heard from what the racers say during different actions, if I turn up the sound, it'll be good
Suggestions: Make sure to work on Mad Dash Racing 2. Or give the game some kinda spin-off or a sequal with a different plot. Better bonus games would be nice. As well as a more detailed practice.

Overall: Wow this game is so tight. I have to get an Xbox now. Before I played this game I wanted a GameCube but now that I've played I've totally changed my mind.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very good, but like most kart games it might get boring after you beat it with every single character. I like these kind of games so I don't get bored of them ever.
Graphics: Man these graphics are so nice. I can't wait to get my Xbox because these graphics are just amazing. I like how when you jump the characters feet and arms keep moving showing that they actually know they are in the air. Not like other games where they either just fall in standing position or in walking regularly.
Sound: I couldn't really hear that much of it at Sam Goody, but since this game just rocks, I'm gonna have to give it a 5.0 anyways.
Suggestions: More tracks would be good for this game. I like the glider, basher, and dasher idea, that was good. Also, I like how the tracks aren't like laps. It's just, get to the end to win. That is, I think, one of the best parts.

Overall: I'll admit it, when I first got "Mad Dash Racing" I wasn't expecting much, but this game rocks! The graphics, while not amazing, still do the job. The gameplay is Mad Dash's highlight, it's fast and immersive, while the controls are simple. The game sounds simple but the combo's, special moves, grinds, and many levels, gives this game incredible replay value. The only real flaw is the incredibly annoying character dialouge. The music consists of moby and fatboy slim, and if you don't like that, rip your own tunes onto the game. If you liked Mario Kart for the N64, you should definantely pick this game up. If you don't know what Mario Kart is, or didn't like it. This is still an excellent game.
Gameplay: The gameplay is fast paced and fun, while simple enough to just pick up and play. You'll most likely spend many hours immersed in an animal racing frenzy.
Graphics: The graphics aren't amazing, but they aren't horrible. The character models are decent, and the enviroments lessn stunning then Sonic Adventure.
Sound: The charcter voices and dialouge are both horrible and annoying. The music suites the game well, of course you can always rip your own soundtrack.
Suggestions: Some more levels and better graphics would be nice.
