Overall: I think that the idea for the game was really good. The plot could've used a little more work though. Being able to control other "freedom fighters" was just sweet. All the weapons you could use had a good variety. Plus the game is even more fun with game cheats! Overall, the game was a hit.
Gameplay: Very good gameplay. Easy to use and easy to learn how to play the game. The plot was the only downfall. The game also got too hard at points and a little too repetitive.
Graphics: I liked the graphics. Very clean explosions and player models. The freedom fighters needed more variety though, cause there weren't many "main" characters. Very appealing visually though and a very good job creating a city that was in the midst of war.
Sound: OK sound. Not something that stood out much. The music though had the right feeling for the mood they needed to portray.
Suggestions: Less repetitive and more variety.

Overall: I think this is a great game that was really overlooked. The graphics are pretty good and seem to suit the game very well and the gameplau and replay value is phenomenal.
Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is the best part. It's really exciting and has a lot of strategy involved with sending troops one way and coming in from the other side. This surprised me and I really enjoyed it. The games multiplayer is also great which boosts the replay value a lot. It's pure mayhem but with strategy involved. It's really a struggle to take bases and makes for a really fun game.
Graphics: The game has a pretty unique look. They try to make it real but with a comic book character style look. The uniforms look great but at times it's hard to tell people apart. But, in war it would be so this is ok. The environments are lacking a little and there isn't a ton of detail in them and parts don't get blown apart when a grenade hits them as much as it should.
Sound: This games sound isn't too bad at all I don't think. There's a lot going on with all the gun fire, explosions, orders being given, and screaming. However, there isn't a lot of diversity when it comes to the sound. You don't hear bullets bouncing off of things at all. It's just a constant gun fire sound. As well, with all the people running around you think you'd hear some loud footsteps but it isn't what it should be. I think they could have done better with this aspect of the game.
Suggestions: I enjoyed this game a lot. It's not a top seller obviously but if more came out in this style at a resonable price I'd definately give them a try.

Overall: This game basically comes down to a basic 3rd person action shooter with a twist. The twist is you can eventually command up to 12 additional soldiers. The story is somwhat like the movie Red Dawn where the Russians have invaded the USA and a small group of Americans fight back. Most of the story is presented through news casts by the Soviets between missions and works fairly well keeping the levels cohesive. The single player mode is fun for a once through, but there isn't anyhting to intice a second try. I do however, as well as the few people I have played with, enjoy the multiplayer mode. It is a blast to play in small doses, but the map selection is weak with only 3 maps to choose from. Luckily the maps are good and vary enough to keep interesting for a while. Most people should give this game a rent because most will get enjoy it but get bored quickly after a few days. Otherwise, you can find it for $20 or less.
Gameplay: The majority of the game involves fighting in the streets of the city. The main objective in 99% of the missions is to replace the Soviet Flag with the American flag on a main building in the map. Most missions however have side ojectives that involve blowing up primarily helicopter pads. The secondary objectives aren't required to pass the mission though, you can walk right pass them to the flag and win. However, you do get charisma points for completing the secondary objectives which when you get enough points increases how many subordinates you can command. Commanding the squad is simple and works quite well. You have three commands using the X (regroup), Y (Attack), and B (Defend) buttons, tapping a button only delegates one squad mate at time where holding the button down commands everyone. The AI is decent and does a good job most of the time for both your squad and the enemy. The control layout is simple and effective with a short learning curve. The game isn't hard and usually a mission can be beat on the first try with patience, just send in your squad first and then follow to clean-up. Make no mistake this a fun game with some nicely designed levels that make for some exciting gun fights.
Graphics: This game was made by the Hitman team and the game has a similar appearance to it. It looks real good with detailed fluid animation and a surprisingly smooth consistent framerate with a load of action taking place on the screen at once. I was surprised how good this game looks, especially for a multiplatform game. Don't get me wrong, it isn't Ninja Gaiden or Rallisport Challenge, but it does what it sets out to and looks good doing it.
Sound: The sound is effective and convincing. The voice acting is rather good and the music sits in the background where it belongs subtly setting the mood of the game. The sound effects are aren't quite as powerful as I would like making the weapons feel more like BB guns.

Overall: I bought this game when I got my Xbox on March 13th 2004, the game started of quite good you got to learn the controls and find the main plot of the game but for some strange reason the game plot did not seem to thicken it was the same thing over and over again but in different backgrounds and locations. The characters were not very well thought off and seemed to slack in the story for there reason in being there, this is how the story starts off, Your brother has been taken so you save him and then suddenly you turn quickly into this mad patriot freedom fighter dying to kill for the sake of your country, many people would do that but the game seems to stay on the same level of difficulty I completed it on hard two days afterwards and I was not very happy with the ending at all, this game is hyped and does not deserve the score?s that people are giving it.
Anyhow the main game is very simple it is 3D person shooter and you have a gun and you kill soviets with the guns, you do get objectives or should I say objective in every level is to hoist a flag over the soviets, it sounds easy and the game is you run shoot and its impossible to die unless there is a tank or a helicopter presence when your running around shooting and you get this challenge about 3 times in the whole game, the only good thing about the game is you get other men that follow your orders .Y. is to make them attack a certain enemy your facing or to scout ahead, .X. is to make them follow you and .B. is to make them defend the area you are in, if you hold any of the buttons down for a short period all of your men will do the action you pressed. The game as I said once before is over rated and is not at all a challenge maybe good for a starter to get used to the Xbox controls but apart from that it?s a another game just badly created. But I must admit the multiplayer on this game is really appealing to everyone and I played the multiplayer the other night for about 4 hours, pure enjoyment!
Gameplay: Single Player as I said before is boring and probably the most eruptive game I have played during my Xbox and PS2 console playing, the main game play at first is really good but unfortunately bores quickly sometimes I look at it and remember the fun I had for that first 45 mins of playing and I pop the disk in, it is never there it more or less been there done that, your team mates you order about have AI of zilch they run into cars shoot walls and they never throw grenades or speak apart from when you recruit them, your player changes over the game and that?s the best bit off the game just wondering what your character will look like after you have beaten that stupid level, also everyone knows winter levels are crap so what do they do make the last two mission winter level?s I was crying I hate winter levels I rather kill at night or in a day I don?t mind rain levels but winter is crap just an excuse to use white so they don?t take up space on the disk, the single player is dumb and overrated the people who rate this game over my mark need to buy more games and find out what a good 3D person shooter is all about! The multiplayer as I must agree is brilliant if this game was Xbox live and had the same multiplayer this game could be the best, you get charge of your own team your opponent get a team of its own, very intense, the multiplayer mode is where you have to make sure you keep a base and if you get a base and if a man dies you go to your base and get another one, the way to win is to hoist a flag up in the middle of the map for a short period of time and you win unless the other team takes your down and puts there?s up, very good multiplayer and yet so simple the best part in this game.
Graphics: Bright, detailed and is nice to look at, just a shame the game as let them down, it feels like the producers tryed to hide the gameplay under the graphics but I have seen better and they failed anyhow.
Sound: Voice acting is rubbish they talk and the sound plays about 2 seconds after, the music is alright and lightens the game up a notch but nothing special.
Suggestions: Dont make anouther one unless you make it live and change the AI to a better standerd, loved the multiplayer but the single player was crap, try again but I will rent next time.

Overall: In general I wanted to say that Freedom Fighters was under rated and under appreciated. It contains exciting gameplay solid story line and you can modify your team of freedom fighters as you go. I think i ended with around 15 guys fighting on my command which is a awesome way to play. If you maintain an open mind I am sure you would find it well worth the purchase.
Gameplay: Entering the game you are a average joe working plumbing with your, friend and then you are tossed into a series of events that land you in the position of an all American Hero. Which can be quite exciting the first time around because to get to be a hero you have to plan your strategic assault on enemy fortifications and send in men to hostile areas before you risk your own neck (which is always an exciting alternative) you can even post your men at machine gun placements to watch your back. Overall gameplay was for me very exciting and enthralling.
Graphics: With excellent displays of carnage and mayhem the visual parts of this game will leave u enthralled in the story line. The cinematic proves to be a very important part of the game in this case and does a good job of fulfilling its job.
Sound: Hearing your enemys cry out and cars explode makes the audio of this game quite interesting although your own team mates can become rather monotonous in tone and manner like something from n64's space craft(if anyone knows what i am refering to) but i would say the sound rather limited the fulfilling game experience at times.
Suggestions: The little things do not go unnoticed throw in some small effects such as wind sounds and better bullet impacts on diferent surfaces and so on

Overall: Freedom Fighters is a Team Based shooter, with good graphics but pretty short. the multiplayer is pretty fun but not overly playable to where you would want to go to the same level over & over. the story id like Red Faction but with real life guns.
Gameplay: the gamplay is pretty darn simple where you usually get the AI automatically when shooting. the 1st person type shooting is actually harder than just regualr third person camera. commanding your teammates to do something is also very easy with a, b & x commanding an order. u can tell them to defend, stay there & regroup.
Graphics: the graphics are really good considering it also for PS2. while it looks like State of Emergency i like that look.
Sound: the gound sounds are good, but like usual the music becomes annoying & repetative sometimes.
Suggestions: longer game, better graphics.

Overall: This game rules in every aspect, accept the ultimate hardness of normal.. :P but i like it anyways, good game.
Gameplay: Nothing but the best of its class. You got bad ace moves, guns, shooting love it.. AND you can recruit guys(not new, how bout this) Your Guys DONT Die WHHOPIE (as long as you give them medipacks :)) love it.
Graphics: Awsome Has a real life look to it. Love the views. everything looks real, great game, combined = awsome...
Sound: Would be perfect but theres no music~ guess your not supposed to have it at war.... well the games sound rules, everything feels real, you can hear a bullet zoom by you, even hear the bang of the bullets againts metal, sweeeeet.....
Suggestions: Great game.

Overall: If you ever wanted to play "Red Dawn" the game this is it. While controversial before it was released mainly due to the first 10 minutes of gameplay, this game will rile the gun-toting militant patriot in us all.
Gameplay: Controls are pretty good, but camera could use some work in certain battle intensive levels. Interesting use of building moral and gaining and commanding troops. Having multiple strategic targets in each area and being able to eliminate them to make things easier (or therefore harder) is a great feature.
Graphics: Visuals are good if not repetitive and some enemies look striking similar to "different" troops. Good explosions and some great weather effects keep things visually fresh.
Sound: Weapon and vehicle sounds get old after first level, and some main character dialouge is trite and predictable.
Suggestions: Make a longer, more diverse sequal. Perhaps include other nations to ally with or more varied settings.

Overall: This game is so awesome. I love the commanding part of it. It really makes it less frustrating, because in most games when you have little health you still have to go into the heat of the battle yourself. In this one you can just send your men in and shoot from afar. It's just a great game. Can't wait til I get to the winter season. Looks great.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. You start out on a mission, and each mission has different parts in it that you must complete. Every mission ends when you raise the United States flag in place of the Soviet flag. From freeing POWs to just plain fighting your way through the masses, this game has it all.
Graphics: Superb graphics. Not cuby, and I could see the features of each of my fighters and myself very clearly. This game is just overall solid.
Sound: Alright sound, no soundtrack though. Just the sounds of you bustling though the streets, firing at Soviets.
Suggestions: From the suggestions of the others, it appears that this game isn't very long. Since you did such a great job on it, just make it longer and this game will be unbelievable.

Overall: REALLY REALLY FUNNNNNNNNNN. This game was intense yo. The multiplayer with the bunker commandos and stuff was really fun. I only played it with 1 other friend so i cant imagine what it would be like with more. I enjoyed the story mode a lot but i was dissapointed how i finished it so fast. If you play this games story mode, i recommend you play it on the hardest difficulty (Against all odds) straight from the start or you will finish this game too fast, also do not use cheats!! it is short enough!! i finished the story mode in an afternoon (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)
Gameplay: Really entertaining and addicting, the 3rd person view is really suitable for this game. I love the commanding your troop option. You really gotta think like your a general or something man. Multiplayer was so intense i couldn't stop playin it. Too bad my friends had to leave. and seeing that the story mode was soooooo short, i switched games. !&%$@#* ......... I was disapointed with how easy that big general guy leader of the soviets was easy to kill in the solo assassination mission, i just picked him off with my sniper from about 1 mile off. he was dead.
Graphics: Graphics really fitted this game perfectly!! FLawless graphics yo . INTENSE. the rain, the snow and cartoon yet real graphics really kicked butt, its hard to put into words for those of you who have not played this game, but they really are good.
Sound: Sound got kind of repetitive with like the commands you gave too your fellow freedom fighters. There was like 3 different sayings for each command you gave, uuuuugggh.
Suggestions: Cooperative missions maybe? i dont know if that would work though. Online play for sure. Multiplayer was intense fun!!

Overall: You got to love the story behind Freedom Fighters. After losing the Cold War to the communists, we get invaded by the Russians and have the fight back for our freedom. This is definitely the most historically fun game outside of the Medal of Honor series. If only it was longer, then I would call Freedom Fighters purchase worthy. This is the type of game that you can rent on a Friday and be done with it before the weekend is over. It?s really a shame, since FF does so well in every part other than length.
Gameplay: Running and gunning with your grisly crew of patriots is always action packed and suspenseful, and I never tired of raising the good old US of As flag above a war torn landscape. The secondary objectives are always a blast, like blowing up helipads or rescuing POWs. I really like how all the missions are structured. They always give you a choice, like what do you do first, stop the enemies from getting reinforcements or destroy the helicopter pads to get rid of those pesky choppers. The choice is always yours. The controls feel awkward at first, but after the first few levels, they?re a breeze.
Graphics: On the cover of Freedom Fighters, it proudly states that it was made by the makers of Hitman 2. The graphics were pretty much taken from that game, but improved so it would hold its own against almost every game released today. Watching your character shoot his gun, and the way bodies fly and hit the ground when a grenade explodes screams Hitman 2. If only more games used that kind of engine for the way a body reacts to those things, there would be a lot more cool games. Also, the cities you run around look absolutely superb, and games that are based around cities like the GTA series should use Freedom Fighters backgrounds as their role models.
Sound: Freedom Fighters is very impressive in the sound department. You?ll imitate the outstanding vocals in the wonderful orchestral soundtrack (second only to Halos). Hearing your comrades man a stationary gun and yell ?Say hello to my little friend!? ala Scarface never gets old, and the guns sound quite realistic. Unlike most games, characters don?t sound corny (with the exception of ?The Kid?). When you recruit your fighter, they talk like they would fight for their country or die trying, and that is really a neat thing. In the end, I still can?t stress enough how good Freedom Fighters sounds.
Suggestions: Fighters needs an online mode. I would love to go co-op with a buddy on XBL fighting communists and rescuing comrades. Even forming a squad and fighting other squads would be cool. Finally, MORE LEVELS!

Overall: very fun. the game might feel kinda weird at first, but one u get the handle of the controls, game is fun, ai can be kinda stupid now and then, but then other times its actually really good, somewhat odd
Gameplay: being able to take control of a team and tell them what to do is always fun. And yur guys r obediant and can usually prevent them from doing something stupid so u dont necessarily have to babysit them
Graphics: this is only downfall really. not that the graphics r bad, just could be alot better, they dont use the full potential of the xbox system
Sound: sound fits well. the sound of the guns r really nice and give u all the better feeling. Just wish there were more guns!
Suggestions: make the ai a bit better, sometimes they'll run up by themselves into a big squad of enemies.

Overall: I highly recommend this game. It is extremely fun, but far too short. But most likely you'll want to keep this to a rental due to the length of the game (or lack thereof).
Gameplay: Great controls, except for some issues with the way of giving orders. Extremely fun, addictive gameplay. A little repetitive, but fun none the less.
Graphics: There are a few graphical glitches that appear here and there, but overall the graphics are solid. Although I did have quite a good time trying to see how many times I could make bullet-holes appear in mid-air. Not quite up to Xbox standards, but nothing shoddy either. Basically, the same as Hitman 2.
Sound: Great sound effects, especially ambient sounds, and a solid soundtrack help to immerse you into this game.
Suggestions: Invisible walls are inexcusable on games today, yet this game is filled with them. It?s not very difficult to add a few graphics to cover those gaps. Some rubble here, some barbed-wire there would have done the trick just great.
The inability to choose which soldier to give a particular command to can cause some frustrations. If you want to have a few guys cover the South entrance of a building, while you send a few more to the West end, that?s no problem. But, if you want to move the same soldiers you just sent West to now go upstairs, you?re out of luck. The command system goes in a cycle. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. One you cycle through, it starts over again at 1. This lessens the fantasy of actually being in effective command over your soldiers.
Not much of a multi-player aspect. Co-op mode would have been great as well. And please, people, pay attention: XBOX LIVE!

Overall: First, I'd like to point out that the first review on this board (the one that has sunk this game's stats so low) is a blatant lie, since Freedom Fighters hadn't even shipped until after the date Hunter-Seeker claims to have rented it at Blockbuster. This is a solid game that combines the features of Hitman 2 with those of Brute Force, and I recommend it to all fans of action games.
Gameplay: The controls are fairly standard third-person fare. Your character (a plumber from New York City) can jump, fire weapons, and activate/use items that he finds. There are also a limited number of commands he can give to fellow soldiers he recruits to his side - attack, defend, and follow/cover.
Graphics: Characters move very similarly to those of Hitman 2, and the graphics are also similar to that game. It's not revolutionary of groundbreaking, but it's still solid.
Sound: The voice acting is clear and very easy to understand (albeit, the girl who does the voice of Isabella sounds like a very wooden actress). The weapon fire is clear, and the subtle music in the background adds to the game.
Suggestions: I seem to be moving through this game at a fast pace, so I would suggest to the developers that they might want to make the sequel longer. Of course, I'd also like to suggest the ability to play online.

Overall: I'm totally going to have to agree with t_howell. After hearing the bad review from that other dood I was reluctant to try this. . . But I was thoroughly impressed. Way better than Brute Force this is a combination of Hitman 2 (with the rag-doll hilarious deaths) and Operation Winback (a game for PS2 and N64 that ruled)
Gameplay: At the moment I'd say that this is a game that you either really like, or really hate. The action is fairly repetitive in the fact that you go one place, C4 a target, then you raise a flag. Fortunatly, I found that to be so awesome that I can overlook a few repetitions. My only beef with this game was that it wasn't very long, I beat it over a rental, but I liked it so much I bought it anyway. The multiplayer is sweet, but limited to 4 maps.
Graphics: The graphics weren't the greatest, as we know EA seems to be skimpy with delivering the best product to the X-box but this is in no way has horrible as Frontline. . . I think the graphics were great enough for the situation. The american troops are all "terrorists" and they all have hoods and scarves over their faces, they look very believable as "Freedom Fighters"
Sound: If they didn't say that they are the creators of Hitman 2, I could surely tell that they were because of the music. They did an excellent job with the techno opera sound that they went with. . . This is by far the best component of the game.
Suggestions: erm give us more maps, 8 player multiplayer, system link, and xbox live support. Also give me a copy of the sound track to this. . . I think every video game company has something to learn from you guys, 'cause you definately have something to teach to other devs. Keep up the good work and make a sequel. . .

Overall: Good game. I have been having a ball with this one. It is better than Brute Force. It could stand a little tweaking here and there but otherwise this is a good game.
Gameplay: The gameplay was surprisingly addictive for me. I really enjoyed trying to save New York from the Russkies. And I love raising the old red, white, and blue after I take over a place.
Graphics: Visually the game is nice but of course we all know that the Xbox could do better. I like the character models and the way the city looks.
Sound: I really like the gunplay in this one. I like the way the controller vibrates as if I am actually letting off a machine gun. That has nothing to do with sound does it? Oh well, I couldn't think of anything else to say.
Suggestions: Utilize the Xbox graphical powers. I holla!!!!!!!
