Overall: If boxing is a game for you, make sure you pick this one up. It's an all around great game. It has it's downsides but is fun to play.
Gameplay: Fighting is quite accurate. It's fun to play, and is always fun to challenge a friend. Brings it's own difficulty to you.
Graphics: Graphics are ok with me. Actually shows what happends when you punch someone in the face all day long. It's always cool to see that!
Sound: Sound is great. Hearing the punches are accurate enough. Nothing to complain. Would be nice to have a custom soundtrack however.
Suggestions: Custom soundtrack, tone up the graphics, and make the game harder. This game would be great with all that and also be able to fight on Xbox Live to be held in tournaments and defend your title!

Overall: Knockout Kings '02 is an excellent game with realistic fighters and fighting. The blood, sweat and fatigue effects are very well done.
Gameplay: This game is a lot of fun to play. It has the perfect blend of arcade and sim which combine to make this the best Xbox boxing title. There is exhibition, tournament and career mode. Took 1.0 off due to a weak CAF mode. They probably don't want you to create a fighter that isn't in the game for legal reasons.
Graphics: The fighters look like their real life counterparts. They begin to sweat and bruise and bleed during the fight. The collision detection for the most part is decent just not excellent.
Sound: I was actually surprised at how well the sound was done in this game. Adds to the excitement. The sounds of the punches are recreated well.
Suggestions: Improve the CAF or just leave it out next time. And don't ruin this series like you ruined the NHL Hockey series.

Overall: The over all description of this game is is was a pittifull game.I got bored of it within four hours.
Gameplay: The gameplay sucked. All you did was press a few bottons to make a guy hit another guy. That was very boring.
Graphics: The visuals of this game were the best feature in the game.I was shocked to find that even the graphics were porlly done.
Sound: the sound was the funniest part in the whole game.I had times that I had to pause the game to laugh my head off at the stupid sound effects.

Graphics: its ok but i know it could be better the replay makes it obvious that the man is not even being hit..come on ....
maybe try mixing it wit UFC

Sound: Hey i love all type of music and i am feeling what the !&%$@#* head bangers are saying about the rap...
i don't think it was that hip hop...

Suggestions: ok...the big thing.........speaking for all my friend...

Date reviewed: July 22, 2002.

Overall: This game has great graphics, the boxers look almost identical to their counterparts. The CAB could be better but its ok. This game is too easy, i won each title in about 6 hours.
Gameplay: The idea of having the heartbeat in the controller when the boxers health gets down is a really good idea but this game is missing something the game is way to easy and u just pretty much do punch after punch after punch till someone loses, u dont even really have to block or bob that much.
Graphics: The graphics are excellent the boxers look almost exactly like their counterparts. The arenas are kinda bland though but other than that it looks pretty good.
Sound: The sound in this game is bad. There is really not any good music. The sound of the announcer and the growns of the boxers when the punches connect are what u pretty much hear during the match no backround music.
Suggestions: Make the game better. Add the ability to rip songs.

Overall: This game was very disappointing. This is not a boxing simulator like some of its predecessors. They should have called it Just Punch 2002.
Gameplay: Not fun. There is no bobbing, no weaving, blocking is near non-existent. All you do is smash the buttons and hope your opponent goes down three times before you do.
Graphics: The game is definitely not hard on the eyes. The graphics are super. The knockout replays are nice and the details on the fighters are well done.
Sound: Nothing to write home to Mom about but nothing to discredit either. EA usually has good sound in their games. The voice acting was well done.
Suggestions: Hey EA Sports, do you remember Knockout Kings 2000 for Playstation? That with the 2002 graphics would have made a great game.

Overall: I wanted a good boxing game and that's what I got. The single player mode, especially the create a boxer, is good enough to give you hours of gameplay. The multiplayer is even more fun. I highly recommend getting some friends together and beating the crap out of each other in multiplayer mode. However, the game is easily beaten in single player mode. You can win all the belts in a couple of days.
Gameplay: The gameplay leaves little to be desired. The controls are superb. It was no time before I was knocking people out. I particularly like the white button. If you are behind, hit the white button a few times for a "Johnny Cage" type attack. I'm not sure how much it actually helps catch you up, but it will make you feel a little better about getting beat up. This is also the first fighting game I've played lately that the block button is so easy to use. I can never block well, or at least I have to devote lots of thought to it, when the x or y button is designated as the block button. The left trigger is an excellent choice. I know you can configure your controller in most games, but I usually don't. The create a boxer mode isn't that great. I found the choices available to be somewhat lacking. The action in Knockout Kings 2002 is pretty exciting and a lot of fun.
Graphics: I was almost impressed with the visual appeal of Knockout Kings 2002, but I have this thing about ports. I hate them. No, I loathe them. Any game that is made for xbox should be reworked to take advantage of the capabilities that the xbox possesses that just aren't present on the other systems. Still, the visuals aren't that bad. The boxers look real enough. The only big problem is the punches sometimes either don't look as if they connect or go straight through the opponents head. How hard could it be to fix this? Maybe harder than we think, because I've noticed it on other games as well. Still, in this age that should be fixable. All in all the graphics and visuals are above par.
Sound: The sound is pretty good. The Dolby Digital is good, but I'm not so sure it is 5.1 because it sounded more like 2.0 to me. I don't really like rap music, but I can appreciate it's artistic value and it is perfect for the mood of this game. However, the soundtrack is quickly played out. The game would benefit from allowing users to rip their own tracks.
Suggestions: Add other boxers that were left out. We should be able to fight with or destroy Mike Tyson. I know he's a controversial figure, but like it or not he is important in the boxing world. EA Sports, you might have to change your name to EA Ports if you don't start hooking us up with some reworked games for the xbox. I know you made Madden 2001 specifically for the PS2. How about making SOMETHING specifically for xbox? Rework your !&%$@#* titles so that they will be all they can be on the xbox console or we just might start "just saying no" to your ports. Sega and Microsoft make good sports games as well, so it's not like you don't have competition.

Overall: In general this is a good game to buy.The controls are easy to learn, graphics are great "boxers look like they actually do in real life".
Gameplay: The gameplay is really easy to learn, the defence is tough but if you start out on amature level you'll have plenty of time to figure it out.The offense is very quick and fluid which makes this the best boxing game by far. The career mode has to be made better, its to short and without any sort of story line.
Graphics: The graphics are almost worthy of a *5* if it was not for the instant replays "sometimes it looks like the boxers aren't even getting hit. Aside from that the boxers and arenas look exactly like they should.
Sound: The ring side anouncers "Max" are good and the sounds from inside the ring are good "when you can hear them". And the rap music can drive a guy nuts. needs more sound options.
Suggestions: I said Never! when asked when I would get tired of the game, this is true but having groups of people playing it together is the key. My suggestions are tweak the graphics a little, needs way more blood and there needs to be sound options.

Overall: I was pumped up to hear there was a boxing game coming out so quickly. A die hard Ready to Rumble fan, I wondered how simulation/arcade this game would be. I got this as soon as possible. And I wasn't too terribly disappointed. To be able to be Ali is enough to get the game. To feel your heartbeat through rumbling in your controler is great! However, the game's single player is a bit lacking, to be translated disappointing. Multiplayer is great, but your friends aren't over at your house ever day. However, it's still a game AT LEAST worth the rent.
Gameplay: How could bashing someone with nothing but your fists not be fun? Even so, there were a few problems. The control to quickly bob and weave is barely different from actually moving, and this created problems at first. Blocking is still a chore, it's hard to choose where you're blocking. Punching is relatively easy, considering you don't get tired. Still, this has been fun, don't get me wrong... But there's only so much you can do with the game.
Graphics: For the most part the graphics are great. Sugar Ray Leonard LOOKS like SRL. Body motions are for the most part fluid and realistic. HOWEVER, it could be said the Phantom Hit by Ali is being recreated with every fight. When you watch the replay of a good knockdown, 9 times out of 10 it appears that you've either whiffed right past him, or actually hit through his head for the punch that actually takes him down. The first time I saw that, I was saying, I didn't even hit him!!!
Sound: Ambient sounds are great. The Soundtrack is very good, but without being able to use the Xbox hard drive jukebox, the soundtrack gets old quickly
Suggestions: More intuitive controls, stronger single player career mode, better visuals on the replays, Xbox music capablities.

Otherwise, great job!!!

Overall: This is a phenominal game... start to finish. as a true boxing fan and an xbox fan, this game is a hands down winner! from audio to visual knockout kings is great
Gameplay: the controls are fairly easy to use, although i still have trouble bobbing and weaving. i love the way they incorporated the rumble feature into this game.
Graphics: visual appeal is absolutely stunning. when you see ali and fraser together it looks like your watching "classic boxing" on tv. from the facial expressions to the hair on the boxers' chests to the crowd, this game doesn't sacrifice much graphically.
Sound: sound effects are great, not only do you feel the hits but you hear them just as well. when you get knocked down even the ref counts like your in a daze.
Suggestions: maybe multilink on internet play. create your own music library. more blood!

Overall: The game looks good and the controls are good once you get used to them. I have playe dthis series since it began and this one is the best.
Gameplay: The gameplay is good with tight controls. This game uses the XBOX controller very well. My only complaint is that you cannot clinch with the other fighters. So if you are getting your A$$ kicked you have to run.
Graphics: Perfect graphics. The fighters look like the real guys. The ring girls however look even better. The enviroment are also a bonus.
Sound: Sound is good and the voices all sound real. I just want to know why rap music has to be in all these games, mix it up a little, same goes for football games.
Suggestions: Better career mode and get rid of the Damnn rap music. Try something else or let us put in our own music.

Overall: Best Boxing Game I've Ever Played Period. Graphics are unbelievable, interface is user friendly and the punches are extremely realistic. Great game to play with multiple people and game you won't grow tired of quickly...(Well, at least until the 2003 version comes out)
Gameplay: Overall I'd rank the gameplay as "pretty good". The offensive moves are fine, but getting down the defense can be tricky, learning how to move, when to move and when to block can take some time... Im 10 hours in and still can't get the exact hang of it. The offensive controls sort of make up for it though
Graphics: Stunning - boxer detail is solid - ring detail is perfect. Nothing is better than landing a knock down shot and watching the replay as your opponents face cringes from your mighty body blow... Kind of hard to top this, these are some of the best graphics yet for the X.
Sound: The sound effects are great, realistic sounding, well timed and fit the game well. The ref comments are cool, however the ringside commentators kind of suck - they get repetitive rather quickly and don't seem to be dead on with their comments (just like real announcers). Im not too fond of the soundtrack for the game either, while some of the hip hop is solid, much of it sounds like the developer asked his aspiring rapper next door neighbor to produce some of the tracks. This is a case where utilizing the X's CD ripping powers would have much improved the overall feel of the sound...
Suggestions: Maybe try and make defense a little easier in the 2003 version... Also don't be afraid to utilize the CD ripping music features of the X, this would have greatly improved your game.

Overall: Graphics are excellent. There are no "jaggies". The boxers look and move as in real life. The sound effects are surprisingly good and the commentary flows well. The punches are quick and responsive. This one's a knockout.

GET THIS! When your boxer gets tired, you can feel the heartbeart in your controller. The more tired you are the faster the beat. Blows me away every time.
Gameplay: The CAF should be deeper in terms of number of faces you can choose as you can not create a face. When you can fight as Mohammed Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evender Hollyfield or De La Hoya I find that the CAF in this title does not take away from the game. As I mentioned the controls are good the punches are fast and furious. Movement of the boxers can not get more lifelike. The A.I. is very good. The "make believe" fighters are really well done with realistic sounding names, looks and fighting styles. This is well done.
Graphics: When your boxer or your opponent gets hit there is bruising, swelling and the occasional spray of blood. Even the mouthpieces fly out. The boxers even show sweat. Anyone that says this even remotely looks like the PS2 version is dead wrong. Graphically 100%. BTW the ring announcers mouths move along with the words spoken.
Sound: Well the sound and the graphics are a perfect match. The sound effects are really quite good and I find the the game commentary flows and realistically portrays what is happening in the ring.
Suggestions: Deeper CAF where gamers can actually create a face. And EA: Next year's version...KEEP THE GOOD STUFF IN THE GAME!!!!!

Overall: First of all, when you buy this game you have to understand thi is a an EA Sports game. Personally I love EA games. This game kicks in right from the start with an amazing 5 star rating, it's so fun you'll never want to stop playing this game. The graphics are clearly a PS2 port but look exceptionally good either way. Finally the weakest point of the game is the depth which is pretty short and missing some content.
Gameplay: The gameplay is just stunning. Is the kind of boxing game that has 2 jab styles. Hooks, special moves even dirty moves!. The games highest point is the gameplay which excells far over any of the KK series. If you don't like this.... you are a very strange person (or not a boxing fan).
Graphics: The graphics are very good. You can see saliva coming out of the boxers mouth after a big hook punch, or even sweat after a long fight. When the boxers get tired there is noticable sweat shining on their backs. But there is always the PS2 curse... the graphics are still a little jaggy and lack the finishing touch of the Xbox hardware.
Sound: The sound is really not a weak point of the game but is not great either. The punches sound good, the crowd sounds OK and the rest is just plain average but not bad at all.
Suggestions: Just keep developing this series, next time add up some more depth to the carrer mode.
