Midnight Club 2

Overall: A great driving sim including one of the first driving games on Live. Cities are very detailed but only three kind of limits the gameplay available.

Gameplay: The ability to build up your skills throughout the game and then eventually unlock the 'batman' car are what make this game. The drafting effects in the game can easily surprise people as well, in addition to the nitro boosts.

Graphics: Visually, this game is great. The only flaw I found with it was how much the graphics degraded though when you had multiple cars in one shot.

Audio: The sound on this is great. The engines roaring, the nitrous and drafting speed boosts, horns and sirens, you can't beat it.

Suggestions: Better Live elements are needed for a future release.

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Overall: This game is without a doubt one of the most well put together RPGs in recent memory. It has everything you could hope for from an RPG. This includes building your character and the unexpected plot twists.

Gameplay: I can not give the gameplay here a 5.0 due to the fact that it takes nearly 10 hours just to get through the first world which to me is probably the slowest paced, and the least gratifying. After the first world however, the player is give a feast of gameplay ability and a deepening of the mechanics of the gameplay with the use of jedi powers.

Graphics: Visually, this game right on par with great RPGs. Due to the amount of data and characters in the game, I can forgive some of the characters looking the same, along with some of the characters looking like nothing in the distance.

Audio: The sound in KOTOR is dead on with the Star Wars universe, and BIOWARE definetly deserves an award of sometime for their work on it in the game.

Suggestions: This game has definite replay ability, but there are certain 'glitches' which hurt it (as with any RPG). Obviously, I would suggest to fix those glitches and submit them in the downloadable content, in addition to more side quests.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 ESPN NFL Football 2K4

This is probably the best NFL game currently available for any platform, let alone the fact that it has Live capability.

The gameplay is all you could hope for. To say something different than what has already been said, I would say one of the best parts is leaving control to the computer at about the 5 yard line with no one around you and letting your guy walk in. To watch T.O. turn around look, and then fall into the endzone is priceless!

The graphics could be a little better, however there is so much else that is better about this game that the graphical glitches here and there can be overlooked.

The sound has definetly been upgraded since last year's version. All the commentators sayings have been changed a bit, and if you do some strange things while in gameplay, you'll get the commentators to actually surprise you a bit.

Suggestions: Give us a few more mini-games in that kick-ass crib!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Blood Omen 2

Overall: The sequel to the Blood Omen series, you are consistently learning new skills and getting better weapons. Each level is a little tougher. In the end, you are left with a satisfying game experience.

Gameplay: Some of the gameplay is straight forward though the combos are minimal and the some of the moves get old. However, the puzzles can also be more tricky than they needed to be.

Graphics: Visually, it is obvious that this game was made early on in the XBox life cycle. Despite that, the quality is still decent even if there are a few glitches from time to time.

Audio: The sound in this game is definetly quality. You will not be dissapointed. Especially since you can now buy it for a low price.

Suggestions: Get Azrael involved as well. The developers are doing that with the next game, but it would have been nice to have had at least some reference to him in this game.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Brute Force

You're a soldier who is continuously able to be recloned with the memories of your last mission. You are attempting to quell a big threat to the universe. The only thing original to a game is the recloning part.

The squad based controls do not seem to operate correctly, and at times can screw up when you're in the middle of a mission, causing one of your teammates to die.

Visually this game is up there. The hype seems to have been met visually, but everything else seems to not have successfully met the hype.

The sound for this game seems to drop out from time to time or you'll get odd sounds that don't seem to belong in the area that you are at.

Suggestions: Less guarding missions would have been helpful for you this game. The guarding missions were just too much of a hassle when the guy you are supposed to guard proceeds to an unprotected area when you're not ready.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Circus Maximus: Chariot Wars

You're a charioteer in Roman times trying to win the championship and the love of all the people. It's nothing special.

The ability to speed up, veer, and attack all at the same time makes for some active gameplay, though at times it seems that the blows land at strange times.

Visually, this game's graphics are not up to par with other great games for the XBox. It's unfortunate, since this game could have been great given more time.

The sound is another part of this game where there appears to be a pitfall. The sound just disappears in too many spots and then returns at others.

Suggestions: The game should have been fully developed instead of just releasing it without further testing.

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Elder Scrolls III : Morrowind

This game is without a doubt the first RPG on the XBox, but it wasn't like any other RPG ever made for a console either.

The game play is fully wide open to your choices. Whatever you want to do, you can do, whenever you want to do it. The attacks aren't spectacularly designed but they're there.

Visually this game leaves a lot to be desired, but when you consider the amount of data in the game, you can forgive the visuals not being up to par.

The sound is here for the game, but it again will cut in and out on you in stange spots. Also, the music has no set areas due to your ability to move from space to space at any time.

Suggestions: Do away with the Dirty Disk Errors! They were the worst thing about the game!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Enter the Matrix

Overall: This game just proves the point that good movies do not make good games. The premise is nice, but the expectations were not met.

Gameplay: The game play is rough to say the least due to the camera screwing up where you are looking or other things.

Graphics: Visually this game is good with a few collision detection errors, but the remainder of the game makes up for it.

Audio: The sound in this game goes right with the Matrix movies. It has the right beat, and the voices are dead on.

Suggestions: Fix the camera!!!

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Hulk

Overall: You are the Hulk. You are tryig to save Betty and yourself from the Army and the Leader. Is there anything else that needs to be said?

Gameplay: Nothing more than a simple beat and smash. As the hulk, do you really need more? The camera can screw you up sometimes, but not too much. Playing as Banner though is truly a chore and ruins the game.

Graphics: Visually this game is cel-shaded and fairly impressive. Though there are better looking games out there, this one isn't too bad for the type of game it is.

Audio: The sound is good, but it gets much better once you unlock the grey hulk. The difference is that Hulk will actually talk as he's beating people up. Very funny stuff!

Suggestions: Have the grey hulk available at the outset and have more things for him to say.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Kung Fu Chaos

This game is a parody of so many hollywood action movies. This is inline with the last dragon and those types of movies.

The gameplay of this game is great since you are constantly taunting people and you are also throwing and trying to defeat the enemies.

Visually this game is the style of a cartoon and every character is a parody of a stereotype of some sort.

The sound in this is pretty funny since all the characters are parodies of stereotypes and are consistently throwing out 1-liners.

Suggestions: While it's a fun game, the game could have been made better on Live.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 MechAssault

You're in a mech trying to save a planet. The game really doesn't start picking up until you hit Live though.

You have the ability to play several different game types and with Xbox live more mechs become available to you. The gameplay is straight forward and easy to learn though.

Visually, the game is very beautiful and has great explosion animation, though the buildings do not seem to be in line with the size of the mechs.

The sound in this game is exactly what you would expect to hear in a mech environment. Loud sounds all around with explosions everywhere.

Suggestions: There just isn't enough strategy involved in keeping the players attention.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

Overall: Without a doubt the premiere XBox Live debut game. This game was made for Xbox live! While the game is good single player, it is enjoyed ten fold more on Live.

Gameplay: The gameplay has some problems with some glitches here and there. One of the biggest is the ditches in this game. Just be prepared to find new ways to kill people.

Graphics: Visually the graphics are not great. It's unfortunate considering the platform that this game is on, but it still is the case.

Audio: The sound in this game is great when you are sitting there waiting trying to find another player. You'll just suddenly hear things all around you.

Suggestions: Upgrade the graphics.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder

Overall: The sequel to Ghost Recon. Differences include upgaded graphics and more missions. The missions are welcome, but not the best.

Gameplay: The gameplay is the exact same as found in the original. The night vision doesn't work as good as the original though.

Graphics: The graphics have been upgraded, but there are still aspects of this game in the graphics area that need to be upgraded.

Audio: The sound is the exact same as the original with all of the environmental sounds and directional sounds.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 NHL Hitz 2003

A great Hockey arcade style game. You'll love checking people into boards and getting into fights with anyone.

The gameplay is much like the previous year's game, though the fighting appears to have been simplified a bit too much.

Visually this game is everything you'd expect from an arcade style game with the oversized characters and crazy rinks.

The sound this game is great, especially with the characters taunts. Though the commentators get old fast.

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War

Overall: A very fast paced first person shooter that keeps you involved the entire time you are playing in the vain of the original.

Gameplay: As stated above, this is a fast paced game, that really shines in XBox Live environements with all of the maps coming out.

Graphics: Visually there are instances where you can go through things that you shouldn't be able to, but in the end, it comes down to the game and not the visuals.

Audio: Sounds in this game are great when you are going through tombs and mazes since you will hear things occasionally that aren't there.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Capcom vs. SNK 2: EO

While the abundance of 2-D fighters has greatly diminished with the 3-D revolution, one constant has always been there?Capcom and the Street Fighter license. While many love and remain loyal to this franchise, others find it increasingly difficult to remain loyal when faced with the better graphics and depth of more recent 3-D games. With that, Capcom brought its franchise with its first endeavor onto the XBox in the form of a Live version of the popular title?Capcom vs SNK2 EO.

While the gameplay feels rough around the edges, especially with the use of an S-Type Controller, the gameplay becomes a little more fluid when using the original American XBox controller. The ability to choose the proper groove as it turns out, adds a lot to the strategy of the game, and can in the end, help to determine the winner. The gameplay can be fast and furious with non-stop fireballs, or a defensive with a lot of throws. Even with the addition of XBox Live to its repertoire, this game can not be saved from its obvious shortcomings. The game has obviously not been upgraded graphically or game-play wise from its predecessor on the Dreamcast. The inability to speak between rounds and long load times between rounds causes a lot of frustration if you are attempting to carry on a conversation, or carry on trash-talking with your opponent.

Visually, this game needs a lot of work. While the backgrounds are great for a 2-D fighter, many of the characters come out to appear extremely pixilated and rough around the edges. The only thing that makes up for this is some of the special effects from the moves. Though the colors are vibrant and impressive, the graphics associated with the colors, still cannot save this game from mediocrity in the visual aesthetics department. The ability to change your fighter?s colors and customize them to your preferences is nice, but not at the expense of quality looking fighters to begin with.

The sound quality is not too bad, but honestly, how many times can you hear the same things before you get tired of them? Also, the statements made by the announcer at the opening screen even seem to indicate that this game has not been updated dramatically from that of the original, since it is referring to a date well in the past.

Suggestions: Upgrade everything and make it run much smoother.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Outlaw Golf

The overall appeal of this game is without a doubt the best that I have experienced playing a golf game. If you can not get into this game simply because the characters are satirical, then you really need your funny bone replaced! The game is some of the most realistically correct golf I've seen on a console system! Outlaw Golf was made for both Golf Officianadoes and the everyday Drunkard.

For those that say that the gameplay lacks due to the swing of the joystick, think about it...In golf, you're not going to just hit a button and make a perfect swing everytime. This is the best way to simulate a real swing on the controllers that the XBox has. Without a doubt, this to me is one of the selling points of this game.

Visually, this game is terrifically done. While it is not all perfect and there are some jaggies, the game compensates for them with the style of the characters and the unique designs to each one.

Other than the repetitive announcers, the sound is terrific! Sitting there late at night though, you can really get tired of hearing the announcers shout, "Wow, there must be something going on at home! That ball was hit with a serious vengeance!" As funny as it sounds the first time, it gets old after the next 10.

Suggestions: My suggestion, as with a lot of others, more courses. Also, if you are indeed to make a second Outlaw Golf, it would be good to add some more commentating.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Wreckless: The Yakuza Mission

For any gamer that loves racing, destruction, or even the occasional vehicular jumping, this game has it all!

The game has very simply laid out controls and 3 views to change to. The game is fairly short and it is single player, but the tank that you can open up in the end makes up for these shortcomings!

This game is without a doubt the most visually impressive game on the xbox to date! Once you beat all of the games levels, you'll have opened up filters that add to the viewing pleasure on this baby! The neon signs glow, the images on the sides of the cars deteriate when enough damage is done to them. As I said, the best graphics yet!

The sound could have been tweaked a lot more! There is not a very good selection of music to choose from and the characters voices can get annoying.

Suggestions: Get a free-roam mode! The time limit on the game kills it!

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee

This game is without a doubt one of the most bizzare, yet fun experiences you will have on the XBox! If you enjoy fart and burp jokes, or just plain idiocy, you'll love this game! I don't think I have ever seen any more of a bizarre ending than either endings provided in this game!

The only problem one could find about this game would be if they disliked puzzle games (in which case, you shouldn't consider this game in the first place). This game is made to consistently trouble you. Some of the puzzles do get a little tedious, but in the end it is worth it.

The visuals on this game are terrific for a first generation game for the system. Now, with the newer games coming out, the visuals have already become downgraded. The camera can be a problem sometimes, but not too much as to hinder the gameplay completely.

The sound was perfect for me, all of the modukon speak fit perfectly with how you'd expect. When you are going through the game trying to get bad quarma, the things that are said change perfectly to fit what you are doing in the game!

Suggestions: When the developers create a sequel to this game, they need to make less repetitious puzzles. As fun as it is to run through the puzzle once, it gets tedious running through it multiple times after dying over and over again just to complete the puzzle successfully.
