Overall: Man when you stop playing this game and go back to the real world, Its like everything is in slow motion! I get dizzy from playing this game for too long. It Rocks the world! One of the best Xbox games, and chances are you will get it cheap because its an old game. 5/5 2damax
Gameplay: Woooooooowwww..... Is that you mom? Thats the sort of feeling you'll be getting after playing this game. it really feels like you're driving a hovercraft at 1500kph and being blown up by fellow racers. And once you get to Redshift mode, bring out the barfbags... The vibration in the Xbox controller makes you feel like you have been molecularly obliterated, or flash frozen, as the case may be. Too much sickening speed, so many weapons and so many ways to get blown up! What more could you want?
Graphics: Beleive me... you won't be caring much about the scenery at 1500kph, but let me assure you, If you do find a long enough straight to not smear your self on a rock trying to slow down, then It is rivalled only by Halo. Sweetframe rate and it looks awesome when the screen blurs.
Characters don't look all that great but you only get to see them for about 10 seconds at a time.
Sound: stom Soundtrack:sweet
Engine noises:sweet
Voice acting:I'm to young to die(from ear damage etc.)

Overall: Quantum Redshift is a high speed racing game set one hundred years in the future. Sixteen pilots from around the world suit up and strap into SPARCs, or Single Person Armed Racing Craft, in hopes of winning fame, fortune, and perhaps most important, the respect of millions around the globe. Each pilot has a nemesis, a rival pilot who will stop at nothing to prevent the other from winning the championship
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty standard high speed racer stuff. Each race consists of 6 racers going for the gold, reaching top speeds of one thousand miles per hour at Redshift level. The sense of speed is amazing on the higher difficulty levels. You'll rocket down straight sections, power slide through corners, propel hundreds of feet into the air, and take advantage of the track's shortcuts. While doing this you can pick up one of four powerups that charge homing missiles, regular weapons, over-shields, or all three at once. There is also a point bonus that takes advantage of the game's unique scoring system.
Once you finish a race, you are awarded points based on your performance that you may use to upgrade your vehicle's weapons, over-shields, turbo, or regular shields. You may re-race the track if you wish, but in order to gain more points to upgrade you must score more points than last time. For example: if your first race nabbed you five hundred points, and your second race scored you eight hundred points, you will get the difference between the two. That's three hundred points added to your total.
The weapons for each vehicle are unique to the driver. Tara, the advanced weapons expert, will fire missiles and grenades as weapons. Kumiko will fire weapons that disrupt the enemy's electronic systems and make them stall on the track for a few seconds. The differences between each character make you want to fully upgrade them to see exactly what they have up their sleeve. In addition, once you power up all weapons and over-shields to level three, you can access the characters mega-weapon. Just like regular weapons, each mega-weapon is unique to the character. Tara, our advanced weapons expert, fires a warhead that results in an impressive looking mushroom cloud. Very nice.
The nemesis element mentioned earlier does not add much to the game and could have been better implemented. It simply provides a bonus in points for killing that particular ship and adds a nemesis challenge, a one-on-one race at the end of every tournament. Although it is worth noting that your particular nemesis will shoot you every chance it gets during a race.
Graphics: The graphics in Quantum Redshift are amazing. Each of the tracks and vehicles are bump-mapped and filled with bright, colorful textures. While nothing is breathtaking, mostly due to the fact that you will be racing past at 300+ miles per hour at first, the game is well polished and looks fantastic. Each vehicle retains the standard SPARC setup, yet they all have a very unique and detailed look. Some will have flaps that open and close as your turn, while others retract the twin jets as you hit the turbo. Overall, this is defiantly one of the best looking games available for the Xbox.
Sound: Sound is decent and nothing too remarkable but it gets the job done. For some reason the engines are very quiet and I had to turn them up in the sound menu. Music is done by Junkie XL, an electronic band that has recently hit mainstream. I listened to each of the songs a few times before I had to switch to something off my hard drive.
Suggestions: Quantum Redshift is a futuristic racer that perfects the aspects seen on every other racer before it. The sense of speed combined with the graphics and frantic use of weaponry is beyond comparison. Definitely a rental if you are interested, a must-buy if you've liked this type of game before.

Overall: I have had this game for so long now and never did a reveiw on it and it is one of my favorite games. I have never played many games like this so to some people it is old and boring but i really like it. It is the fastest game i have played, the sounds is great alot of booms and swoops, and the graphics are very crisp and refreshing. Refreshing as in they look so clear and good and not all dirty and flat. Ah never mind.
Gameplay: Is super slow during the beginning but then so fast it is a blur. I like the weapons the effects look so cool and i don't care about the cut scenes or stoy but this is just a fun game. I like the tracks even though they were there were no upside down or sonic the hedge hog moments. You race in all kinda of enviroments on water, dirt, and fly in the air too. I would wish tey would make a sequel.
Graphics: The visuals IMO are very good. They would look so good on a high definition screen because they are so clear, bright, and oh did i mention crisp? The people faces are ok and the vehicles are cool but my favorite part is the weapon effects. They can look like lightening to nuclear bombs, to giant fire balls slamming your apponent. The enviroments, trees, water textures are all pretty good. IF you get teh chance to go slwo enough to check them out.
Sound: I like the sound of teh weapons and the hovering and jets and it is kinda cool having the real language of teh players origins. I lkiek teh music but love the custom soundtracks even more.
Suggestions: Make a sequel please! Plus add a couple more characters, more customizable options for your vehicle thing and make a couple more tracks but add some over teh top cool ones. But don't quite turn into XGRA. Keep up the good visuals and sound and really kill of or drop the egyption dude he is so gay.

Overall: Quantum Redshift provides the gamer with a fun time at high speeds, and being able to demolish opponents make it even better! Although there isn't much replay value, the few times you play it- it's worth it!
Gameplay: High speeds, attack missiles, homing missles, and more are just a taste of what you get to do in this game. Controls and turning can be a bit "uncontrolled" and feel like floating, but other than that, it's fun and easy to get the hang of!
Graphics: The graphics of the vehicles players, and tracks are amazing, the only thing that isn't so nice are the mountain and scenery. But when doing high speed, focusing on the track, and being shot at, you don't notice scenery that easily!
Sound: You'll hear engine's vroom, and opponents talk trash, but other than that the soundtracks are not too great. It's suggested you play your own music!

Overall: Quantum Redshift was one of those overlooked games, that is really a bargain at it's curent price (under $20). As a racer the sense of speed was tremendous and the highlight of the game. Of course, it's not without some flaws, mainly that it gets boring after a few hours of gameplay.
Gameplay: The controls are easy enough and it doesn't take to long to master. There are lots of unlockables (characters and tracks) and that'll keep things interesting for a bit, but not much longer. Also you can upgrade your vehicle as you go along (more turbo, weapons, shields).
Graphics: The tracks and vehicles look good. The characters are pretty standard fare and I thought the FMV sequences that carried the "story" (I use that word loosely) were poor.
Sound: The vehicles and weapons sound as expected. Each character uses it's native language, and that was good.
Suggestions: Better FMV sequences. If you're going to go with the story aspect, make it something more.

Overall: I have played all of the racing games from project gotham racing to motogp. Including some of the best I have ever played like Ralisport Challenge. But never have I experienced speed, graphics, and controls like that of Quantum Redshift. This game is uniuqe and very appealing. Though not popular, and some reviews rant on about how bad the game is this review is about how great this game is.
I got this game for christmas from my brother. It was a steal, only 25 bucks so that is why I am urging all racing fans to pick up this game. It is alot of fun, and though there is no live support the multiplayer is really cool.
Gameplay: The controls in this game are similar to most xbox racing games so you will easily pick up on them so there is really no need to discuss that.
The gameplay is different than any other racer I have seen. You can use different strategies to get past you opponents. Wether it be speeding up alot (I mean to like 300 mph), shoot at them, or use alot of boost. This is what makes the game so great. There are so many different things you can do it it. This is what seperates this game from any other racer.
The multiplayer is simple, race against your partner to beat him. Very simple yet extremely fun. Hopefully there will be a QR2 with live support.
Graphics: One word sums up QR graphics. WOW. You will be amazed. The textures, though bland at times are very well done. The ships, cutscenes, and people look very cool and best of all is the water effects. They look as realistic as you can get. Even when you up in the 500 mph area everything still looks superb.
Sound: The engine sounds and water sounds are all great. The music is good but the best thing of all is the ability to use custom soundtrack. So this category gets a 5!

Overall: I love this game. Highly addictive and lots of weapons to unlock. I'm not even close to mastering it and I've been at it for a while now. The game has multi-player so you can destroy your friends who haven't had as much practice as you. Tournament play is what I am stuck on now and I have a long way to go until I reach Redshift.
Gameplay: The game is fast!! It takes a while to learn the tracks and master each level. You will not breeze through this game like some others I've played. It probably took me a good hour of playtime to win my first race, and since then I've been really hooked.
Graphics: The graphics are breathtaking. Anyone that tells you different needs to get their vision checked. With the exception of Halo, you'll find no better game as far as visuals go. Trust me, I've played them all.
Sound: Not everyone will enjoy the soundtrack, but I did. A big plus with QR is that you can load in your own music off of the hard drive. Other sound effects are definitely a good effort as well.
Suggestions: Please make a sequel with new tracks and characters!! And do some better marketing... this is one of the finer games I've played yet no one I know has ever heard of it until now. Make the sequel available online.

Overall: Very entertaining game. Not alot of variety, but enough to do to keep you coming for more. The best thing about this game is the track designs and the INCREDIBLE speed of the game at expert level and above. If you love racers, this is for you...if you don't still check it out. Worth a buy.
Gameplay: Great controls. Great Tracks. Very good weapons. Very responsive to the controller. The speed of the game is incredible. You almost have to memorize the track in order to beat your AI opponents in the higher settings.
Graphics: Great graphics. No popups, even for this game's speed. The story line graphics are nicely done, but have no use. Nice explosions...shows what the Xbox could do.

Overall: This is a wipeout style game, and out does wipeout fusion handily. My buddy and i compared the graphics for redshift and wipeout fusion side by side and it wasnt close. Quantum redshift is only upstaged by rallisport challenge graphically. The game is extremely fast, once you get to redshift speed its an incredible rush. The physics of the ship are remarkable, at top speeds allowing for tremendous flight possibilities. The tracks are expertly crafted, strategically placed obstacles, great fly zones. The race changes once you hit redshift speeds, as new options open up for flying over terrain you previously had to race over. The weapons are individualized for each character, and can be built up. Last night i saw a nuclear explosion that encompased the entire screen. It was incredible, as this game is.
Gameplay: The bulk of the single player game is done in the tournament mode. You race each character to unlock different speed zones, characters and tracks. As you race you earn money to use to upgrade your ships turbo, shields and weapons. IGN gave this game a 6.2, and said the weapons were uninspired. I dont think they played the game long enough to max out the weapons. Once you do the weapon affects change for all 16 characters and are quite impressive. They also said the fly zones were brief, obviously not playing until you hit redshift mode. At that point the way you race the tracks becomes different because of being able to turbo and fly over the terrain. I really hated reading gamespot and ign reviews for this and many other games, they say this game offers nothing new, and then give gran turismo and madden 9 plus when its the same game from last years addition. Gran Turismo 3 used the same exact tracks from the last version! Madden is hardly anything new, its the same game with some new addons, impacting gameplay little. I like these games, but if your going to give it a bad score because it gives you the same tired old game your being hypocritical. Its obvious they prefer simulation style games to arcade games, as there reviews are always lower for blitz, hitz, jam series then for madden, 2k2. Same with racing games. Extreme g, wipeout and now redshift all get lower scores automatically it seems because they are classified as arcade. Why? i dont know, maybe they should get somebody who likes these styles of games to review them. Let me say 1 fact. It takes ALOT more skill to race well in quantum redshift then it does to race simulated races. Not only is it much faster, you also have to use the weapons effectively. The ai in quantum redshift is very good. They use weapons effectively, and race efficiently. The tracks are not huge so its very rare to be alone for very long. The sensation of speed is as good as wipeout, the physics model is superb, allowing for great slide turns and pitch control that is not available for simulated racing. Incredible adrenaline pumping gameplay.
Graphics: Ign said the game enviroments are baron. The game is beautiful, maybe it doesnt have ships flying overhead and volcanoes exploding, but it does have the best great rain effects ever seen by me in a video game. The water effects are also gorgeous. The enviroments are varied, from snow covered tracks to lush green hills with castles. I dont know why anyone would complain about the baron tracks when your blasting at 700 mph trying to win and everthing is a blur anyhow. Most people will be very impressed with these graphics. Very impressed.
Sound: Sound is great
Suggestions: The story was awful, it was so awful it was funny. Alot was put into the nemesis storyline and it really had little impact on the game. Why not have your nemesis chatter at you while your racing, and everytime he hits you have him give you the business. Also, you require way too many races to unlock the last track. Jesus i think its well over 350 races you have to win to get the last track. It takes over 200 just to get redshift speed. Many people are going to miss how great this game really is( including ign and gamespot ). Lighten the load there a bit. The game is cheap about where you place the ship when your off the track, it sets you back way to far, and in some places its cheap about where you go off the track, which leads to a frustrating double whammy of your off the track when you were not, plus were thrown back. Ughh. Overall great game, anyone who like wipeout, extreme g will like this game.

Overall: Playing games for more then 15 years, from your standard Neo Geo "Art Of Fighting" to any game you can name on the PC, Quantum Redshift is an XBox Exclusive not to be missed. With excelent eye poping graphics combined with insane speed, and non-stop action any gamer will grasp this game with joy. Even though I have nener been a true fan of the gener, this game does it right every which turn. But for those of you who haven't played this type of game, or haven't played much (Like me) may consider a Rent before a sure $50 deposit is set down. But, I assure you, that if you play Quantum Redshift for just a small amout of time, you'll be coming back for more.
Gameplay: Quantum Redshift is a pure hard core sci-fi action flick with loads of guns (per character basis) each delivering pretty explosians and action non-stop. Picking up the game at first may leave you wondering what's missing, but as you play you see how the game melds into itself, delivering each aspect of racing 900MPH and pure action at its best. Controling your ship can be a task, depending on your stats, can determine weather you win or lose. Coming in first leads to loads of cash (with wich to upgrade, Shields, Booster, Weapons) and unlockable levels, and characters. My one grunt is that on some courses, the terrain is rather jaggid; meaning, one moment flat then (can) abruptly go into a 30degree incline, this cause your view (from the craf) to be kinda harsh, and somewhat confusing, if not annoying, but its not too often and they did an EXCELENT job of making sure you don't get snagged on any 'lame' obsticles in the game, nor get stuck. Some races can be rather difficult, mainly cause your going so fast : but well duh, this game is about speed, with 4 (FOUR) views to choose from you can easially find one that fits your driving preferance. As an annoyance: some of the characters weapons aren't all the good, but oh well they are all different anyway.
Graphics: This title does an exceptional job at setting a new standard for GFX on the XBox, make no mistake; Quantum Redshift is a serious XBox game, that will blow your mind.
Sound: Techno is my all time favorite music created on earth. And no doubt Quantum Redshift delivers a good musical score when. Very nice, Curly Monsters sure know how to deliver a bad @ss game.

Graphics: WOW! This is the best part of this game. I almost dropped a brick (in a manner of speaking) when I saw these in motion. They are that great, AND they keep a high framerate, the speeds make you come back for more, agian and again. WOW!
Sound: Good sound, I think the crafts sounded fine, as with the SFX, the voice acting was adiquate, but could have gone without. The in game music was good, although WipEoUts music was much better...It doesnt matter cuz you can put in your own soundtrack! That is surely the most fun, Blazing speeds with blazing music!

Overall: SPEED, SPEED, AND MORE SPEED!! Those are the best words to describe this game, along with eye-poping graphics Quantum Redshift is a race fans dream. Futuristic racing competitions across very diverse terain, track, snow, you name it. An easy weapon and defense system make this game super easy to pick up and play. Custom soundtrack options and multi-player give this title long lasting value.
Gameplay: The immediate appeal of Quantum Redshift is the racing. Racing is about speed, and QR has an unbalievable amount of it. In single player modes it is just amazing how fast this game runs without a glitch. Multi-player does show a little drop in visuals, but i found it acceptable. You can take control of 16 different pilots each with ther own unique ship, known as SPARC's. Each pilot also resides in one of the 16 circuits as there home giving them a "Home Field" advantage of sorts. Each player also has a Nemisis to deal with and can score bonus points for destroying the thorn in there side. Each ship is also equiped with it's own unique weapons, one of which is a homing type, the other manual. As you race along you can keep boosting your weapons and shields to fend off enemy attacks.QR comes with 4 game modes, Tournament, Time Attack, Quick Race, and Multi-player. Tournament being the meat of this game. In tournament mode you will race your way through 5 levels of competition, Novice, Amature, Expert, Master, and Redshift. Each level getting faster than the previouse. Completing each level unlocks the next. You also race for points wich can be used to upgrade your ships weapons and shields. The snag is that you only a !&%$@#* ulate points if you break your previous record on the track your racing on, so it does get tough once you get to the Expert Level. Quantum Redshift is a long lasting, warp speed, adreniline filled racer that won't dissapoint too many fans of the genre. My one critism is that when you slam into a mountain side or side of a bridge you don't "Crash" you just kinda stop or bounce off, i would have rather seen some impact damage, or flat out explosions to add to the thrills.
Graphics: Call it eye candy if you want, but QR is one pretty game. Textured terains, detailed locals, water effects, explosions, you name it and QR delivers without flinching. Again, multi-player does show a slite drop in frame rate, but i really had no problem with it. Replays are a nice feature that has become pretty much standard in racers now a days. Very solid graphics helps the QR experience.
Sound: QR comes in Dolby Digital and it adds to the experience. The voice acting is a little contrived, but there isn't alot of it so it was easy to deal with. Explosions, weapon and ship effects are all nicelly done. Best of all QR has our favorite XBOX function, Custom Soundtrak capabilities. So copy in Sammy Hagars "I can't drive 55" and go full throtle in your "SPARC" of choice and hang on.
Suggestions: Maybe move this game away from the Arcade feel to a more realistic looking competition.

Overall: If you liked the wipeout series then you'll absolutely LOVE this game. Beautiful graphics, challenging gameplay and the custom soundtrack feature. The easiest and most accurate way of describing it would be to say its like a perfect blend of F-Zero and Wipeout. The single player is very fun and VERY tough, but what will make you keep this game is racing your buddies... too bad the framerate goes to hell in multiplayer.
Gameplay: The gameplay is terrific. Finally racing games have evolved. Not only are vehicles rated by turning, acceleration, and power, but they are also rated by aerodynamics, track speed and offroad speed, all of which must be taken into mind when racing on the multi terrain tracks. The speeds are insane, but playable and you can be !&%$@#* sure that if u screw up in the game, its never the games fault. The gameplay is THAT good.
Graphics: Graphically its beautiful. Lighting effects, bump mapping, anti-aliasing, and even little droplets of water that collect on the screen. The gam is very detailed and runs at a flawless 60 fps (with the exception of multiplayer). Even the menus are visually impressive. At no point did I find myself thinking any of the game was ugly.
Sound: Surround is great in this game, but most of the engine sounds are quite muted. Explosions crackle the speakers and the voice acting is terrible. The weapon sounds are weak, but overall, the surround sound is what carries the audio. The soundtrack is fierce and professionally done techno by Junkie XL. If you're not a fan of techno, the custom soundtrack option is available which makes this game that much more badass.

Overall: Great sci-fi racing title! Fantastic graphics, superb sound, many, many hours of gameplay. The closest game to compare to is Project Gotham Racing...I'd have to give the nod on graphics to Quantum Redshift.
Gameplay: There are three elements that make Quantum Redshift (QR) so appealing: The simple type of racing, the beautiful graphics, and the custom soundtrack option. Sometimes you just want to pick up a controller and not want to have to work at figuring out a puzzle, or plan strategy. QR fits the bill, yet offers the opportunity to maximize your points by aiming at the various targets and upgrading your equipment. The "Nemisis" feature doesn't seem to add much to the game, except you earn double points for attacking them.
Graphics: I don't have a high-definition TV, but I can guarantee it would really look stunning. The tracks have some of the best eye-candy yet. Comparing this with Halo wouldn't be appropriate though, you know - apples and oranges. If you're a graphics junkie...this is a must-have!
Sound: The sound effects do the trick, as do the voiceovers. Where the sound excels is the custom soundtrack you can create. Of course, the menu options allow you to tailor how loud each component is. I prefer to turn down the effects to a low level so my music isn't drowned out. My biggest complaint is that there is a limit to how many songs you can have at a time. I would have preferred a custom option like "AMPED", where you can turn on/off entire soundtracks on the hard drive.
Suggestions: This is a very worthy effort, comparable to Project Gotham Racing. Consider opening up the custom soundtrack option a little more.

Overall: Very nice game, started off a little slow, but the higher up speeds are just !&%$@#* ing NUTS!!! And there's so much to unlock and do. I like that every racers ship has different weapons and different stats, it adds a little to the game. And the upgrading /w you winnings is awesome except that you should be able to buy more specific upgrades, more like XG3
Gameplay: Ok, so the "Plot" would be better if it weren't there. Its really underdeveloped and the voices just plain creep me out. It's a racing game, just keep it to that. The controls are smooth as butter, though it takes a little while to get used to the powerslide which is quite different, but not worse, than that used in other games. Lots of extras like time match against your own ghost which, oddly enough, can provide a good hour of entertainment.
Graphics: Incredibly smooth, NEVER the slightest hint of slowdown. You couldn't swing a dead cat in there without hitting something bump-mapped or pixel shaded. The water effects are just surreal, especially those on the camera from the rain, simply the best. And the camera blur that you get at high speeds is a very nice touch also.
Sound: A little disappointing, when I heard that the soundtrack was going to be similar to wipeout I was exstatic, I loved the wipeout music. But QRs soundtrack is way to melodious for a racing game, it should have more base and oomph to it, like wipeout. And as I previously mentioned, the voice overs are pretty bad and, well, they just give me the willies
Suggestions: better music, tweak the weapons system to allow a bit more customization and for the LOVE OF GOD get rid of those voice overs!!! =)

Overall: This title will obviously appeal to fans of the Wipeout series and other combat racers. Unfortunately it's a better single player experience than multi.
Gameplay: It's all about speed! There are 5 different speed (difficulty) settings. Novice and intermediate are pretty easy but by the time you get to expert it ramps up quite quickly. You earn money for upgrades by beating your previous best score on each track. There are 6 pilots in each race, and staying on track is just as important as use of shields and weapons.
My biggest complaint here is in the multiplayer race. As a fan of wipeout I loved the 2 player tournament mode where you could play with a friend, and both race against the AIs. No such luck here, you can race with up to 3 of your friends but you'll be alone on the track.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty amazing. Not only does the landscape fly by at silky-smooth 60 fps, but everything looks amazing. Each vehicle has moving parts and will adjust in various ways when you tight turn, turbo, etc. The levels look great and there is a wide variety of terrains: track, dirt, snow, ice, water. The best effect has to be the beads of water that collect on your windshield from rain or splashing through water. They sort of crawl across the screen just like real droplets being pushed by the wind.
Sound: Loud engines, dolby 5.1, killer tunes, customizable soundtracks, minimal trash talking, what more could you ask for? Not everyone will be able to appreciate the pumping techno of Junkie XL, but they can listen to their own tracks. The only trash talking happens prior to the races, and with a nice nod to realism, the characters seem to speak in their native languages (english subtitles). Personally I find it annoying to have to listen to the same insults over and over while I race, so this is ideal.
Suggestions: System link play and 2 player tournament.
