Quantum Redshift Chronicles
The following is a small peek into the exciting new racer from Microsoft, Quantum Redshift: Volume 1: Enemy Sisters Take to the Track Jealousy created a rift between the Nikaido sisters and they've taken their feud to the racing track. The two Japanese sisters will be dueling it out in "Quantum Redshift," the futuristic racing game from Microsoft Game Studios and Curly Monsters Ltd., available only on the Xbox video game system this fall. The sisters' father, Shingen Nikaido, was a famed Quantum Redshift racer in his native Japan, having won several Japanese championships. Both of his daughters admired their father deeply and aspired to become like him some day in the newly created Quantum Redshift World Championship. But Shingen only showed his affection to his younger daughter, Kumiko. He never invited Ami into the cockpit, let her try on his helmet or stand in the pits like he did with Kumiko. Ami soon loathed her family and became desperate to outdo her sister in any way possible. The day Kumiko officially became licensed to race her trusty ship, "Ki-Rin" as a Quantum Redshift racer, Ami joined a gang and took up a life of crime and thievery, slowly building up her contacts to finance her own entry into the Quantum Redshift championship. As she became deeper entrenched in a life of crime, Ami learned of her father's criminal past. This enraged her even more. As Ami descended into a world of evil, Kumiko became the toast of Japan. Young Japanese girls aspired to be like their hero, Kumiko. Yet disturbed at her sister's animosity towards her, Kumiko wanted to mend their turbulent past. However, at last year's final race, Kumiko believed that Ami tried to have her killed after a man was caught sabotaging her racer. Bottom line, Ami is a bad seed. She has murdered for profit in order to appease her crime boss boyfriend, Akira Akuo. Kumiko, 18, pilots the "Ki-Rin" racer and is sponsored by the food company, Now! Now! Her home province celebrates "Kumiko Day" on June 14. Ami, 19, pilots "Jishin-Uwo" and is sponsored by the private security firm, Steel Tiger Security of Hong Kong.
