Overall: This game is just complete fun. If your looking for a fun & addicting racing game this is it. It hooks you instantly.
Gameplay: Plays like your normal racing video game. The controls are crisp & the cars handle well. No complaints here.
Graphics: Very nice looking graphics. Not too shiny like some other racing games which I liked. The crash effects are pretty good & get even better by the next installment.
Sound: The soundtrack is great & features many good to great punk/rock bands both old & new. The crash & racing sounds are also great.
Suggestions: Keep doing what your doing. This is a addictive & fun franchise that keeps getting better.

Overall: I really don't get why I see arcade machines in the mall for NFS:HP2 but not Burnout 3. To be honest, it was hard not to sell this series off as just a game with car crashes. Burnout 1 and 2 I used both a rental on and enjoyed it to a degree but really it wasn't that amazing. Burnout 2 I spent a lot of time in the crash mode where you and someone else take turns crashing, but I really didn't enjoy the racing aspect. Then here comes Burnout 3 like out of nowhere. I wasn't even following the game cuz I figured "it'll be just slightly better than Burnout 2". Then I'm on a certain game site that has one of those read our full review and in the brief tidbit it says something about a new crash feature, so I checked it out thinking maybe it's worth another rental to check this crash feature out. Well, I open it up to find a score of 9.5 I was astonished, the graphics were amazing, the movies of the crashes had the best debris/particle effects ever, my jaw dropped. I rented the game 3 times straight after then picked it up around christmas. To say I didn't have fun would be an understatement. And to my surprise, I was spending the most time in the single player mode racing then just watching mindless crashes. The game is $20 now and even with Revenge around the corner, if you haven't seen or played this game at all, you have to play it. Burnout 3 takes the series to a whole new level where it's more than worthy of being a franchise for any console, and for the first time I'm really looking forward to the next entry in the series.
Gameplay: So what's so great about it? Well first you gotta talk about aftertouch. Only useable in single-player or a mode where there's one human user in the game, it basically slows down time and then with the analog stick you move your car, or should I say your wreckage, in any direction. It's not extreme to the extent where you can wind back and forth in a 5 lane road on a whim, but it's enough where a guy is close behind and you wanna toss your wreckage in front of him and take'em out, you can. It does take some getting used to in order to be deadly with it, cuz at first you'll often over shoot your target be it a pedestrians car or your opponent. The single player is fun (excluding the DJ, who's really just annoying and pointless and I hope they have'em rung up by his pulse some where so he doesn't make it into Revenge) unlocking new courses, new cars, etc. What I like is the way they have it set up to unlock the Dominator cars (the ones with the flame) in that you always have a 1 on 1 race with them and essentially have to beat'em to get the car. Their cars generally have the least control (though depending on what difficulty it's on, you wouldn't know the way the computer drives) but have the most speed, which generally means, for most of the car classes not all of'em, you'll basically be trying to just take'em down before they pass you, and keep doing it like 6-10 times a race depending on the length of the course. One that took me forever to unlock was the US Indy style car. You basically have to do 2 laps without crashing otherwise you have absolutely no shot. However, with boost this car travels 230+MPH so it's really hard to avoid traffic. And just like this one I had difficulty with you'll find the rest of the game is like that as well, where the challenging races straddles the line of 'frustrating, I don't want to play anymore' and 'omg I was so close, just oneeee more try'.

Lots of cars, lots of tracks (both for races and crash modes), and team modes online make for a great title.
Graphics: This is one of those games where despite the head-to-head article at IGN where the graphics are very close in both versions, you'll be so much happier with the Xbox version. I played the PS2 version for the first time last night, and I was amazed at how bad the graphics are. Tunnels and roads look horrendous, the cars jaggies are very noticable on any zoomed in camera shot, and there is wicked slow down in crash modes online for the PS2 version. The Xbox version on the other hand, features some amazing car models and pretty !&%$@#* good environments, and of course, the amazing debris/particle effects you witness after each crash. Iono if this cranks all the juice out of the Xbox, but it's really friggin close.
Sound: A game like this if the car crash sound effects sucked, the game would not be fun. The first couple times I played this game, just hearing some of the crashes made me cringe or laugh hysterically at how amazing it was cuz I had never seen anything like it in a video game before. Just hearing the collision, watching the sparks when the car is dragging, and looking at your beauty now totaled is really borderline lifelike, excluding the part where you have to worry about if people are ok. The soundtrack I surprisingly didn't mind, but there is a lot of punk, and generally I don't like it, but The FUps title track was good and I liked hearing the Ramones on there as well.
Suggestions: it's hard to suggest what to do when the game reaches immersion and graphical boundaries unseen before. Just keep on keeping on I guess.

Overall: Burnout 3: Takedown, the sequel to Burnout 2: Point of Impact, proves that crashing in a race can be fun, and playing dirty is just fine. Faster and more furious than it's predecessors, Burnout 3 finally brings the Burnout series to it's well deserved critically and commercially acclaimed status. With Xbox Live support, a wealth of cars and tracks, and a boat-load of game modes, Burnout 3 blazes an impressive track filled with excitement and fun.
Gameplay: Burnout 3 is not only about the racing, but also about the crashing. This is shown in the various modes in the game--which mix and blend these two elements together to provide a very satisfying driving game. New to the series are the takedowns. This brings the crashing element into the racing mode as you have to try and total your opponents' cars to gain boost. Returning is also the crash mode--which involves pure crashing, as you try and make as much destruction with one car as possible. The actual gameplay of Burnout 3 is much faster than any other racing game on Xbox i've played. Cars go by at blurring speeds, and one wrong turn could mean victory or last place. This makes some later races frustrating, but overall, you'll still be having a blast all the while.

So Burnout 3 is all about risks. Take the risks, and you'll get rewards. Risks envolve doing things like nudging enemy cars, driving in the wrong lanes, tailgaiting, and driving close to other cars. Your reward is boost--which will send your car blazing down the track at high speeds.

Most of your time will be spent in the career mode--where you'll not only compete in races, but in crash modes and a variety of others. There's also Xbox Live races, which let you take your takedown and racing skills against other Burnout 3 players.
Graphics: Visually, Burnout 3 looks amazing. The effects are breathtaking, with cars going by at blurring speeds, and reflections and shadows popping up everywhere.

The cars in the game look great. The models are all brought to the game in superb detail, and crashes bring forth some amazing effects. The only disapointing part was the lack of what i'd call "unique" cars for the races. All the cars here are race cars--and too many of them in their specific class control and look too much alike. There is noticible separation between the car classes, but in each, a lot of the cars seem like mere variations of others.

This is also a problem for the tracks in the game. Although they look great, there aren't many, and most are variations of others.

Overall though, you can't deny that Burnout 3 is a beautiful game.
Sound: The sound in the game was good. The cars had nice sound effects, as did crashes. The sound track i thought was just okay. It's made up of mostly just alternative rock songs that started to get on my nerves after awhile--luckily there's the custom soundtracks, so then i could listen to whatever i wanted to.
Suggestions: Larger variety of cars and tracks--too many in this game were just variations of others, which started to make the very fun racing gameplay feel a little boring after awhie.

Overall: A great racing experience from the start to finish with everything right in the way. Fun and just fun for all the family.
Gameplay: In this game, there are lot of challenges and every race you take. Crush your ennemies by crashing into them, take the lead by using your burnout, or play dirty ( bring down your opponents with you so you are), etc. Earn cash to unlock some deadly cars to maximize your chanes of winning. Too tired about racing? There are also crash mode which is just pure crash to make big money. Even if you win all the races, there are always second objectives that will make you just going back to get them all.
Graphics: The visual is just greater than previous installment. The car are shinning with the sun, everything is just so cool to see. When you have a crash, there are slow-motion that will make you see what you have hit which is just anothey beauty in the game.
Sound: The music are great but i wish i could have custom soundtracks along the way. From heavy metal to pop music, just great to hear.
Suggestions: Burnout Revenge is coming. :)

Overall: A unique gaming experience that made me wish I had an extra 50 bucks to spend. I really like the idea of being able to make a car crash to see some really sweet cut scenes and animation. An intense experience that can only be done in a game. Finally, a racing game that brought something new to the table and totally blows my mind how simple yet how fun this game is. I love how awesome this game is to play.
Gameplay: High speed racing that encourages 10 car pile ups? What can be better? Easy to learn and even funner to play is always a plus. No matter how simple the game, there is always a hint of strategy that comes with it which amuses me at times. Some of the crashes just made me bust out in laughter cause they looked so outrageous at times. I really am going to have to buy the game sometime soon.
Graphics: This is what makes the game. The cut scenes are out of this world. I cannot believe how awesome some of the crashes are and sometimes it makes me flinch just thinking about how nasty some of them would be in real life. The game just looks amazing and the animation is something to be proud of. Some of the crashes have me busting out in laughter and it made me actually want to crash sometimes just to see how it would look.
Sound: Probably the only aspect of the game that wasn't impressive. The sounds of the crashes were alright but seemed too artifical at times. But there is nothing like hearing the sound of glass shattering as a result of you PWNing your opponent.
Suggestions: Can't wait for Burnout 4!

Overall: How ironic: my least favorite genre of video gaming happens to churn out my favorite game this year so far: Burnout 3.

Criterion games deserve a big pat on the bag here for this game is absolutely incredible. Heck, even EA deserve a pat on the back, but that's only because there is an option to switch the 'DJ' off (more on that later).

Take this scenario: I went into EB on one Friday night because I required a brand new game before GTA: SA comes out. I saw Burnout 3 in all its glory on the shelf labelled as brand new. Hesitantly I picked it up and flipped it over...
I first noticed how the words stood out - 'take a trip down Adrenaline lane, SLAM the competition into oncoming traffic and risk all to win, in the fastest, most intense racer ever...'

Don't ask what made me purchase it. But I did and I took it home, put it into my faithful Xbox (brushed the dust off it too) and began to play.

Gameplay: OK, Burnout 3 is a racing game, right? Wrong. Burnout 3 is not only racing, but total mayhem on the road. There are multiple modes, each mostly different to the other.

OK, this is similar to another racing game. There are all sorts of different modes, but they all include the same features as ordinary racing games. You choose your car, change its colour if desired, and begin the race (I like to call it match). But there one a twist involved - the boost bar. This fills up on numerous occasions, such as driving into oncoming traffic or drifting around corners perfectly. But the best way to get your boost gauge up is to do what the game is best at: destroying rivals. To do this, just ram them heavily off the road and watch the sparks fly. There will be all kinds of crashes, and every time you destroy a rival, the game goes into slow motion and shows the car you just destroyed in all its glory spinning through the air. This is both extremely satisfying and fun, especially the more diverse takedowns. By taking down one car, you are awarded with a full boost meter. When you take down another, your boost meter will double and so on until you have 4X boost (4 takedowns). And you use that boost to win the race. And when you are taken down? You lose a bit of your boost meter (i.e you have the full 4X boost bar and you will go down to the 3X).

There is a specific mode that is really, really appealing and that is the Road Rage events. Road Rage means this: take down as many of your opponents as possible as long as your car survives. A hilarious and exhilarating experience, Road Rage is by far the best mode the game has to offer. You destroy opponent's vehicles and try to crop up high scores by amounting takedowns. You do this by ramming opponents into walls, cutting them off, or my favourite - ramming them into oncoming traffic. Another neat touch is aftertouch. This is when you are taken down, but everything is in slow-mo and you can direct your car as it crashes. This makes way for new takedowns - direct your car into another rival and they will be taken down. The game puts a lot of emphasis on aftertouch.

The final event worth mentioning is the Crash mode - a simulation similar to the concept of crash dummies but you race your car into a junction of oncoming traffic. The goal here is to amount the most carnage as possible to crop up points. Collect boost to increase your speed and the 2X or 4X meters to double or quadruple your total score. The crashes are always entertaining to watch, especially when enough crashes are amounted and you can detonate your car. When you do this you can direct your car in the direction of something (as well as creating more carnage) but you may be able to collect a 2X or 4X meter. Overall there are a whopping 100 junctions to select from, but that's nothing compared to the main single player event mode.

The world tour mode runs through 3 areas (USA, Far East and Europe) in a colossal amount of events (something like over 170) which indicates that this game will last for a long time. One other thing worth noting is that the World Tour mode is required to unlock the majority of the game (including most cars) and there is a hell of a lot to unlock. Most of the time you'll be constantly pushing A to skip the unlocking cinematics. Also none of the cars are officially licenced, but that's still no big deal, because it makes up for that in the fun factor.

Graphics: The second most important part of a game, the visuals are astoundingly beautiful. Yes, beautiful. Not awe inspiring like Final Fantasy, Burnout 3 obviously concentrates on the sensation of extreme speed. And it delivers by the truckload. The frame-rate runs at a constant 60 FPS without ever slowing down. Sparks fly like crazy when you crash into someone and make the crashes look so !&%$@#* real. What's more the unfortunate car will often lose parts such as tyres and create real mayhem on the road. The weather effects are nicely done but mostly the speed is absolutely incredible. One other thing I have to mention about the visuals is something on EA's part - advertising. EA have gone to the effort to put billboards in certain courses to advertise other products. In my opinion this is cheap and just paving the way for in-game advertising. It really, really spoils the experience, although they are pretty neat when you first see them because no-one's really done it before.

Sound: This includes all the sound effects in the game, including the 'DJ.' God bless EA for allowing us the option for turning him off because he has to be the worst thing in video-games since licenced music came into the fray. He is constantly on your nerves - interrupting songs during mid-race to say something you've probably heard twice before, but even worse is that he may spoil a decent song! Damn EA for putting him in - he spoilt such a great game. Other effects, however, are astoundingly wonderful, whether it be the numerous crash sounds or wheels coming off cars or horns of oncoming cars and trucks, the sound effects are great.

Suggestions: Absolutely wicked. Can't wait for number 4.

Overall: Great game, more arcadish than the first Burnout games. A hell of a lot faster and a lot more intense. The crashes are amazing and the cars just keep coming as you progress through the incredebly long game. You can play this game for so long in the Career mode. The change in the types of cars you race are much better, instead of normal vehicles that you see on the street everyday, you race cars you would see a car shows, Jappanese custom cars, American muscle cars, even big rigs for crash mode.
Gameplay: Tons of cars, tracks, intersections. The gameplay is great to play and it always feels like a different experiance each time you race. There is Crash mode, Race mode, Road Rage (my favorite), and many others. There is also XBOX Live. Lots of unlockables are available for getting medals in the career mode is great
Graphics: Best looking racing game I ever saw. Collision is spot on, no more hitting big rigs head on and surviving becuase your car magicly went around it. But instead, a big explosion and the sweet sound of crushing metal against metal. The reflections are amazing, everything relfects off yours and your opponet's cars, its really amazing. And this all has cool bloom effects on the road, short loading times, real life physics, tons of smoke and sparks, and huge tracks all at a lightning fast 60 frame per second! The cars aren't real, but they look so cool that you wish they were real!
Sound: The music can be great, and sometimes you just want to turn down the volume. The car engines and the crash sound effects are great, but everyone in a while, when you are scraping against the wall, you might notice that its giving a scraping or rubbing sound, instead of a, more grinding sound like it should be, you want it to sound like a car is going down a giant garbage desposal, not like a accident you might hear when you run into some elses care when pulling out of a parking space a a grocery store.
Suggestions: Different music, a few more city tracks were the buildings are blocking out the sun.

Overall: The burnout series is one of the biggest sleeper hits in existance. The first game was appriciated by a very small audiance, and the second hadn't released to much greater affection. It wasn't because the games were bad. They were infact exellent, it is just that for some reason, no one baught them. Then EA came in. They saw the potential the series had, and then shot past it at 150mph.
Gameplay: Anyone who has played another Burnout game should feel right at home. If you havn't played the first, shame on you, but your in for a treat. When I first got into a raca, the game imeadilty felt differnt. The first thing that game to my mind was not burnout, but Need For Speed. The outdoor envirments, wide open streets, track design, hud, ect. all reminded me of NFS: Hot Pursiut 2. Not sayings that is a bad thing, but not what I expected. As soon as I got moving however, things quickly changed. The fast paced arcade style racing was back, and done better than ever. Controls were smooth, tracks were challenging, as was AI. Everything just felt so right. The biggest thing that stood out about the game is its pure magnatude. The career mode offers different cities, each filled with tons of stuff to do. Racing, time trial, elimation, and crash courses. And once you beat something in career, you coudl go bacl and play it over and over again. Also, for sylish racing and causing a !&%$@#* load of damage to opponents, you earned points which unlocked new cars. The only real dissapointent here was the Live play. One of the most promising aspects of the game was the worste. Bugs galore, lagging, disconnens plauged the online experiance. TO top it off, nothing was executed very well, making online play feel like more of an afterthought than anything else. It was more tedious than it was fun. I understand it was one of EA's for forreys into Xbox Live, but that is no excuse. EA knows what they are doing, and they could have done better.
Graphics: This my friends, is where the game gets its marks. This is without a doubt the BEST looking racing game there is. Period. Everthing is here: detailed cars, beautifle and realistic open enviroments, traffic that doesnt look like crap, crashes to die for. The chrashes is this game are like art. They are stunning. When two cars colide, cars crunch, parts fly, sparks shoot everywhere, and smoke pours from the tires grinding over the asphault. The stellar physics combined with the exellent graphics make the crashes very believable, and all the more fun. The sence of speed is also exellent in this game. When you get really fast, your screen starts to blur and shake, turning your knuckles white as you watch the speedo climb. Higher and higher, you wonder how long you can hang on like this. Blurrier the screen gets, everything is so beautiful. Then, as a result of just going to !&%$@#* fast, you hit another car. Ay first you may think this is a bad thing, but as soon as one of those wonderfully cinimatic crashes starts unrolling out before your eyes, you will quickly loose intrest in what place you are in.
Sound: Sound is a mixed bag in Burnout 3. In one hand, we have the in game sounds. Engine sounds, tire screaching, and cars crunching are all very believable. The in game sound effects are just as awesome as the graphics, which really helps when it comes to creating a belieavle and realistic situation. The game definatly shines here. What hurts the sound score then? The other hand... EA Trax. Most of the songs that come wiht the game just suck. You can use your own soundtracks, but its a pain in the ass. In the EA Trax menu, you can set each song on the game to play when you want. Menu, race, menu + race, or not at all. The problem is, you can't do this for your soudntracks. The only way you will be hearing your music in the game is to go thought the poor options menu and set a custom soundtrack every time you load the game. Want to change the soundtrack? You have to exit the race, game mode, ect, go back tot main menu, throuhg options, and change it. This definatly is not exceptable, and coudl have been done MUCH better.
Suggestions: Don't focus so much on one area. The single player rocks and the graphics are phenominal. In game sound effects kick ass. I just with the same enthusiam was put into layout, execeution, and online play. Maybe in Burnout 4 (wink wink)

Overall: This is another pleasant surprise of a game. It wasn't largely hyped, so it wasn't even on my radar until i saw the major reviews. I was like...whoa. Controls and graphics are great. I went back and played Burnout 2, and after Burnout 3 it was nothin. Sound...will be talked about later. Online is a bit annoying, and i didn't play it a lot since the single player is so huge. At over 20 hours, i'm surprised i'm not done yet.
Gameplay: It's a driving game. Not really any complex procedures to explain. There's a manual/automatic option, press bla to go, bla to turbo, bla to brake. Simple stuff. Sense of speed is amazing, sometimes i'd find myself not blinking and my eyes tearing up because of the game. Traffic can get on your nerves, but it's a challenging addition. Menus and stuff are easy to navigate. I didn't play a lot of the crash modes, but the little i did play was pretty good.
Graphics: Graphics. This is a multiplatform game, so i thought they wouldn't be as good as they are. Motion blurs, reflections, everything is awesome. I can recall a level where part of it you go offroad. The trees were reflected on your car, dirt was getting kicked up, and the screen is blurred from going over 100 mph. And the Max Payne-ish camera after you wreck is superb.
Sound: Let's just say, if you want a gangster soundtrack you'll feel left out. All punk and rock songs on this in game soundtrack. Some notables are Franz Ferdinand, Yellowcard, and Jimmy Eat World. I'm a fan of these genres, so i liked it. But i know plenty who can't stand it. The game supports custom soundtracks, but it's kinda hard to set up, and you can only play one soundtrack at a time (i.e. you can't have your 50 Cent xbox music folder thingy and your Eminem playing, unless you combine them). The in game sounds are cool, with the crunching and swooshing as you blaze past cars. Good stuff, but not really for everyone.
Suggestions: EA sucks for live, just give up your seperate service crap and be normal :p . Add more diversity to the soundtrack and make custom soundtracks easier to use. Other than that, good job.

Graphics: Good, the only thing that saves this game from a trash can of doom cars shine and well it's nice, real nice.

Overall: Small doses, that?s how I have to play this game. Very fun, very frustrating. I loved the previous release, Burnout two Point of Impact, and this one improves on many of the factors that made that game great. Unfortunately, it added a whole bunch of annoyances that just !&%$@#* me off. The clock continues to count after you crash and have to watch in slow motion. Meanwhile, all the other cars that you were ahead of pass and the time keeper reads your 9 seconds behind. How the heck does that work? The most I have been able to get ahead of a CPU car is 4 seconds. Sun in your eyes? The randomly placed van, truck, car that appears out of nowhere and sometimes steers into you? Small complaints like this make me want to destroy the controller (maybe that was the point!  ). Ok, enough of the whinnying and on to the good stuff.
Gameplay: The game play is obviously fast and frantic. The cars handle just ok; I hope cars I unlock later will be more responsive. Great game types, love road rage! Not really a fan of the crash mode; its more luck than it is skill. I played the game on line a few time and was not impressed very much. EA has some real bugs to work out as far as servers go. I know they want to control this aspect (so they can later charge for downloadable content exclusively) but they should have tested the format more thoroughly first. All thing considered, I like the game play.
Graphics: No complaints here. Everything looks better that the first two installments. Nice textures on the cars and surroundings. The crash graphics are probably the envy of all other racing games. I especially like the Asian race circuits.
Sound: Satisfying everyone in this department is hard. I think the overwhelming majority of this games song tracks are total crap. Most are just the flavor of the month bands that don?t fit this type of game. Thankful, of course, you can play your own soundtrack. Car and track noises are acceptable. The cars could use a little distinction between them although. I have to know, what the heck were they thinking with the DJ? That was the very first thing to go!
Suggestions: For God?s sake, get rid of the Sun in your eyes, uneven time counter and lame DJ. Although I understand that a big part of this game is dodging traffic, I wouldn?t mind seeing it removed as well, or at least an option to turn traffic off. Work on the Live aspect so players don?t get dropped so often. Look forward to Burnout 4.

Overall: Burnout 3 is by far the most addictive X-Box game I have played since Halo.

The graphics are awesome and the game seems to go on forever. This is a must play game.
Gameplay: Burnout 3 is a smooth running game with easy to learn controls and totally adictive gameplay. Play it once and you'll have to play it again.
Graphics: Visually stunning, graphics are awesome and everything runs smoothly. Crash scenes are very realistic.
Sound: Sound in this game is crisp and clear with very real engine sounds. The crunching metal and breaking glass in the crash modes make you feel like you were there.
Suggestions: Keep up the great work. Perhaps some tracks in Canada as well. An option to save the replay would be great so that you can go back and check out your best crashes later on.

Music, music, music. The music is ok but I'm sure you can find better music and more selection for BO 4. Perhaps an option to use your own music that is stored on the system would be an idea.

Overall: burnout3. a name ill never forget in the racing world. the biggest crashes, the baddest speeds and the best cars. wow this game rules. if you like racing buy it.
Gameplay: the game play is standard, you press the gas to go and the brake to slow. its awesome. really it is. it has the hugest crashes ever with even a crash mode where you try to cause the most mayhem possible. the boost meter also rules. you go fast. awesome.
Graphics: graphics PWN!!!! great level detail and the best car crash graphics ive ever seen in a game. insane sense of speed.
Sound: the sound is pretty typical, no problems there, good soundtrack to. you can also custom which is always +. the radio DJ guy is really annoying though. he always repeats things and has corny lines. you can always turn him off though :P
Suggestions: ADD A SAVE REPLAY OPTION!!! You can pull off the sickest crashes and the only problem is you cannot save them!!!

Overall: I was looking forward to see if EA had done the burnout series justice... well I can now say without a shadow of doubt that it has. Burnout3 is definatly the fastest game to storm the xbox, and arguably the most exciting.featuring extensive single player & multiplayer modes such as CRASH MODE, RACE, AND ROAD RAGE... and lets not forget the truely brilliant xbox live features... EA's first live enabled game has really shown us what they can do. it seems as if the game has been crafted around one main goal... PURE ARCADE FUN... and that is what makes burnout3 what it is... ''just great''
Gameplay: Gameplay could hardly be better. for those of us used to sim style racing games the arcade control style might take a small amount of time to get used to... but once you have got used to it you wonder how you ever lived without it!! the game is not difficult, but it is far from easy, navigating around busses, vans and cars at 200+ mph takes quite some skill. The arcade handelling couldnt be better, physics are out the window... replaced by outrun style drifts and combos... overall there is an imense feeling of satisfaction when you take out another driver and send him flying over a cliff!! but be careful, if you annoy another AI driver, or cause them to crash THEY WILL COME AFTER YOU to seek there revenge!! crashes look amazing, and it does not get annoying, or make things difficult when the camera suddenly changes when you perform a takedown>(burnout language for causing someone to crash) the speed that you experience in this game is amzing, and that speed is then enhanced by motion blurring and sound effects... and amazingly there is no noticable slow down at all! gameplay could hardly be better... and sets the pace for pure arcade fun
Graphics: The game has had a complete makeover in the visual department, and it's looking good! effects like shadows, lighting, and motion blurr enhance the experience. Cars look fantastic with reflections of everything they pass shining on the metal work. environments usually look brilliant, but sometimes there are areas that you feel dont quite live up to others, however all do look great. it looks so amazingly fast!! NO other game can give you a visual impresion of speed like this one! it looks as if some real effort was put into making this game look and feel like it plays... and you can safely say that it looks how it plays, and it plays great.
Sound: Burnout3 sounds very good... and the sounds you experience in environments are great, like when flying past traffic you can hear a faint wind like sound adding to the already insanely fast sense of speed.. music is not bad, but is repeated to much, and there seems to have been a complete overlook of the xbox's music ripping abilities... another complaint in regards to the sound is the radio presenter, i personally find it cheesy and annoying... but im sure some might like it. although i find the last two points particular downers, the sound in environments is so great that it justifies overlooking the down points...
Suggestions: Improved graphics, dump the radio idea... and suprise us- make the gameplay even better!

Overall: The Crash Mode got better with little things you can pick up (Multiply your score by 2 or 4) and you pick up money and if your unlucky you get a Heartbreaker where it cuts your score in half
Gameplay: crash mode rocks, road rage is really fun with split screen/multiplayer and Burnout World Tour has nice new cars way more than Burnout 2
Graphics: big improvement since Burnout 2, the car phsyics look more real and the more you damage a car and if all their windows are broken you get points
Sound: music is on the %50 good side and %50 bad side, one particular song i like is "Lazy Generaton" its on the intro of the game, but a good thing you can do is custom soundtracks
Suggestions: EA, (takes deep breath) update Burnout 3's Xbox Live stuff, cause...... I KEEP DISCONNECTING!!!

Overall: Excellent game for the racing fool. Take everything about racing, add insane crashes and great music and get this game.
Gameplay: Race, crash, cause others to crash, make money. Unlock different events and vehicles with each win.
Graphics: I have play 55in TV and it looks great. Viewing vehicles at 200mph+ looks great and detail in making the vehicles look fast is great. Dynamics of crashes are awesome, pletty of times I just sat back with my jaw to the floor viewing a crash. Not sure if they could clean up the pixels a bit, maybe its just the big screen.
Sound: Sounds of the game are good. The background sounds are good, crashes, excellent. The only thing about this game is most of the cars sound alike. If you could give more distinctive sounds would have been great.
Suggestions: Excellent game. For those of us with big screen HD, little better graphics would be great. A def must for any race fan. PLEASE dont compare this to any game except their previous, this game is in a league of its own. I love it and will be playing alot. Havent tried online yet, but looks to be great. Great replay value!

Overall: This is one of the greatest Xbox games I've bought yet, definitely the best racing game. Its an extremely intense game, cars, debree, civilians, you name it, are flying everywhere. The graphics, sounds, and gameplay tie in perfectly for a awesome experience. This is one great game, even at full price, its a must buy. So why are you still reading this? Go get it!
Gameplay: This isn't at all a simulation, the cars handle very arcade like. But what?s so great about this is that unlike games such as PGR & PGR2 anybody can sit down and have LOADS of fun right away. But that doesn?t mean its an easy game...no, it get quite challenging. Your just pulled right into this game, great gameplay. Five out of five!
Graphics: No problems here! Incredible damage effects, like you?ve never seen before in a game. And the blur effect really gives you a beautiful sense of speed. Textures are a little on the blurry in some parts but most of them are pretty sharp and well done. The environments are well varied and the detail they put into these maps is just fantastic.
Sound: Crash sounds really make you say OUCH! The sound trak matches the fast pace game nicely. ?Some? of the songs I didn?t quite dig...but thats just my tasts. What also contributes to the speed factor is the nice touch of adding a kind of ?wind? sound when you fly by civilians or other cars. The engine noises could have varied more than they did, but im not to picky on that subject. Great sound, good job EA.
Suggestions: Can't wait for Burnout 4 on Xbox 2 :)

Overall: If you've played any of the other Burnout games, Takedown is no disappointment. I have to be honest that I wasn't too sure about getting it but a quick 'pick up & play' in the store sealed the deal. It's faster, more frantic and a helluva lot more fun.
Gameplay: It looks like an arcade racer and it plays like one, which is good. I don't like games that portray themselves as some sort of simulation but still lets you bounce off walls. The handling of the car is really simple and making a good drift is childs play; simply tap the break whilst cornering and away you go.

As for the modes of play, there's 100 Crash levels (my favourite) as well as 1v1s, Races, GPs and pure mayhem in the Road Rage races. New to this version is aftertouch, which is highly gimmicky but something that takes true mastering. When you crash you enter a Matrix style slow-mo deal. In this you can now control your car to, in a race situation, crash into your fellow racers. In crash mode it can help you get more bonuses or even hit more traffic. It may sound easy but trust me, its something that takes a while to get the hang of. As well as this, you then have 3 different type of takedowns (i.e. making your opponent crash). Normal takedown which is just making hit something like a wall or bus etc. Signature Takedown, many levels have special things to them like an over the top railway, crash a foe into one of the beams supporting, hello signature! Finally there's the aftertouch takedowns mentioned ealier.

As for X-Box live, well, here's a game that could put PGR2 perminentley on my shelf. With the ability to team up on the crash levels, have a team crash as well as the bog standard racing. So far I've only dabbled on double-teaming the crash levels but even that was loads of fun.
Graphics: Well what can I say but gorgeous?! The levels a nicely detailed with nice touches ranging from ads for upcoming EA games to bits of wood hanging around in back alleys. However, the biggest eye popper are the crashes, here, Burnout 3 rules the roost.

In slow-mo, you can see how mashed your car can get and with the most realistic crash physics I've ever seen it's a spine tingling thing to see. From watching bonnets cave in to cargo of trucks fly everywhere this really is a sight to see and is possibly the greatest reason for buying the game.
Sound: Soundwise it's nothing special. From your average car noises to the sound of NoS burning away it can sound a little like NFS: Underground at times. However the soundtrack, as always, suits the game and so brings this up a notch or two. This coupled with the crash sounds gives it the score.
Suggestions: There are only two things I could think of changing. One is car sounds. They sound too generic for each type of car. For example, the Tuned Muscle sounds the same as Assassin Muscle. While it is nit-picking its something that could be improved. Finally, seeing behind you when in aftertouch mode is a little bit of a hassle, perhaps utilising the right-analog stick could help with this.
