Overall: A surprisingly fun and entertaining game, Top Spin offers the best in tennis gaming by far. It was much better than I expected.
Gameplay: A well designed career mode makes for great play and growth in your character in the game. Though there aren't many actual tennis players to choose from, especially women, this game is still fun with a created character.
Graphics: This is one of the top looking games in console history. Very under-rated in the visual department. Everything is smooth, vibrant, and beautiful. This suffers in no areas.
Sound: Though there isn't much to speak of in the sound department, what's there is near perfect to what you would hear on TV or at an actual tennis event. Very wll done.
Suggestions: More real player. More women.

Overall: Yet another brilliant XSN sports game, XSN manage to convert people who dont even like tennis into fans of the sport with Top Spin. It is without doubt the best, most involving, most beautiful tennis game you can find.
Gameplay: gameplay could not be easier to pick up on... controls are intuitive, and responsive, 2-4 player mode is great, and the option to play doubles is another welcome feature. brilliant gameplay, made even better by the almost unlimited play on LIVE.
Graphics: The game boasts excellent visuals, players could hardly be better, and the game features the best player creator i have seen... stadiums, arenas, and courts are brilliantly created, and all boast smoothly rendered crowds... but some areas dont seem quite as crisp as others, but overall this game sets the standard for how future tennis games must look...
Sound: sound is a mixed package, on court sound couldnt be better... with crowds shouting and truely real sounding ball and player effects, but commentary can wear a bit thin sometimes... but the pros outweigh the cons, and overall the game sounds good.
Suggestions: improve on the graphics however good already...and get more player liscences. give me a free copy of top spin 2..... please :P

Overall: Wow, this is a wonderful game. I never thought a tennis game would get my attention but this game is excellent. I think i've this game for about 5 hours now, but i've actually played this game, more like 3, cause of the !&%$@#* loadings. The loadings are so long, and so many, that sometimes you just wanna break the box.
Gameplay: I love the gameplay, it reminds me of mario tennis for the n64. The xbox live is great, but the only problmen is that lag is very important, because this game is very fast, lag can cause difficulties while playing. The multiplayer is excellent also, i love playing against my friends.
Graphics: The visual are good, but not Ninja Gaiden good. These are good graphics, they pay attention to detail, expcept when it comes tho the crowd in stadiums.
Sound: The sound is awesome, the ball hitting, the ground, the footsteps, the raquets, they're all so real.
Suggestions: I dunno, make a great sequel or something.

Overall: TopSpin is a great overall game and the career mode is awesome. The multiplayer mode is really fun, and the controls are very easy to learn, and the basic controls will serve you great, but there are more in depth controls for the more advanced players. The creat a player is very good, almost as good as the new Tiger Woods create-a-player mode. This game will hook you, even if you don't like tennis.
Gameplay: Gameplay can be simple for the new player, and is in depth for the advanced player. The risk shots are a little tough to get a hold of at first and aren't very accurate, unless you get it perfect, and even then, you aren't guyarrunteed to keep it in., I suggest staying ewith the basic controls.
Graphics: The visuals are beautiful. There's nothing more to say. The courts are just the way they look in real life, and the players are spectacular.
Sound: There isn't very much sound. This is probably the category this game lacks most. The only in-game sounds are the annoucer saying the score, and the crownd clapping, or depending on the court, birds chirrping in the background.
Suggestions: More actual proffessional players (A. Roddick, G. Coria, The Sisters, ect.) and a better soundtrack, and in-game commentary. Not for all courts, just the major pro events and grand slams.

Overall: A solid tenis game, that I would recomend to serious tenis fans. I found mario tenis to be more fun, although this game is much more real. The game has a few bugs, but nothing major.
Gameplay: Top spin has a good career mode, which could have been made much more fun if the lessons werent so similiar and straight forward. As you progress through the game your character becomes better as you accumulate stars in the different masteries, volley, serve, forhand, and backhand. The game, for some reason, switches these around on occasion. The only other technical downside is the fact that you cant save in the middle of a tourney.
Graphics: Visuals are great, animations are smooth, and the courts and surroudings are very life-like. The game features an indepth create-a-player mode where you can change everything about your character's appearance.
Sound: Crowds cheer louder after a big point, but other than sound effects theres no sound, no commentators or music.
Suggestions: Fix the star bug, cut down the loading, it takes forever, and allow saving in tournaments.

Overall: I got bored of my Xbox games so I decided to get a new one. I'm not that big of a fan for first person shooters so I decided to get a sports game. Theres not many people on live anymore, and if there are the people are good! The game is pretty good but career mode needs to be bigger.
Gameplay: Being a fan of Mario Tennis this game did impress me. The hits and such are quite easy to make. The career mode is very fun and a little challenging but it really needs to be longer. This is also very fun to play with/against a friend.
Graphics: Visually this game was great! I mean there was alot of detail in the arenas, aswell as the people. You can also customize your own character too!
Sound: Theres not much sound, but then again its a tennis game. They did include the sounds for the hits, etc... But the guy who keeps on saying OUT is kind of annoying.
Suggestions: Make career mode longer, and more live modes.

Overall: EXTREMELY good game. Perfect graphics, great gameplay I WISH I HAD LIVE :( even without live definently a must have!
Gameplay: Basically you are an aspiring tennis star, that has to work his/her way up the rankings to in the end become world number one and a legend.
Graphics: one word,...PERFECT its like watching a tennis on TV. for once the players (and the CROwD) actaully look like people.
Sound: Maybe could use a bit more music during gameplay but never the less perfect "ballbouncing" sounds cround chearing line calling everyhting is like a real match.
Suggestions: More Proffesionals maybe but a great game. Live in-game commentary would be a great addition as well!

Overall: To say that I was a tennis fan would be an understatement - I was very dubious about purchasing Top Spin, as I have fond memories of Virtua Tennis and spend hours on end playing that game - I thought that nothing could beat those memories of the arcade with all my friends and my dreamcast at home - I never knew just how wrong I could be, Top Spin to me simply put is a Virtua Tennis beater.
It has that magic that made Virtua Tennis amazing, then adds the flair and finese of a next-gen console and we have pure Tennis Heaven itself.
Gameplay: The gameplay in Top Spin feels so natural that you will have to restrain yourself at times from shouting at the screen when you swear it was out, this game captures the essence of tennis right down to the last detail.
Graphics: The game has stunning visuals and leaves nothing to be desired. Watching your ball hit the dirt and seeing the cloud of dirt bounce up as you swing your racquet back is amazing.
Sound: This is where my only quibble with the game becomes apparent - although the sounds in the game are amazing, they do get a tad repetitive and you will start to notice the same comments over and over

Overall: this is one of the funnest games ive played in a while, its really easy to play, and its VERY addictive
Gameplay: the gameplay is really easy, each button is for a different type of shot (drop, top spin, slice, risk shot and so on)youll have alot of fun playing the 1 player mode, although im sure youll have more fun on xbox live. some of the mini games can be frustrating (the serve coaches mostly) but other than that, its great fun
Graphics: the graphics are really good, the players move smoothly, it actually looks like your watching a match on tv
Sound: the sound isnt that exciting, unless you like to listen to the sound of you hitting the ball through the whole game. they shouldve put commentary or music in the background for the matches
Suggestions: commentary, make the ball boys actually run for the ball after the play instead of sitting there doing nothing, optional replay camera angles

Overall: Good Game but not an avid tennis player. The best tennis game that I have ever played. Everything about this game is great except for one thing it can get rather boaring.
Gameplay: Good play, very responsive and quick. Fast paced action but somewhat repetitive.

Graphics: Graphics are AMAZING! If you thought splinter cell looked good you have got to play this game. One of the levels actually look like the inital traing area you take Sam Fisher out on in Splinter Cell.
Sound: Amazing Sound! Everytime a ball bounces on the ground it sounds just like it would if you were playing. And the crowd noise is great.

Overall: The graphics, single, and multiplayer game play make this game the best tennis game of all time.
Build your character with different skills and take him to the courts. The character creation is simply amazing. You almost think its real, and the Pro Players, like Pete Sampras are true to their play style, all the way down to their idiosyncracies. If you are a true tennis fan, as i am, this game will NOT disappoint you. Single play and LIVE play is addicting and extremely fun.
Gameplay: I found it easy to learn to strokes and serves. All the shots are covered in this game, whether it be a kick serve to a ripping crosscourt backhand.
Graphics: There isn't much to say here except the graphics are almost flawless. With the exception of the fans being "Flat" the players, courts, everything looks extremely lifelike. Very nice job on the graphics.
Sound: The sounds in the game are identical to what you hear watching tennis live or on TV. The skidding sound as you run for a ball on the clay court to the hard pounding pop of a powerful serve, it's all here. The only complaint is that sometimes it is too quiet. It would be nice to here a cough or laugh from the crowd.

Overall: This is an awesome game. It's really easy to play and so much fun. I personally hated tennis, until I got this game. Now I watch tennis, before I hated it when my mom watched it, now I actually know something about it.I would say its a must buy. It does get alot harder than I thought it would though. The career mode is by far the best feature, I mean you get to make your own character and witness your success.
Gameplay: Great. I caught on to it the second I put my hands on the controller. It's so eaaaaasy. Great, extremely newbie friendly and its just awesome. Plus hitting a button after every point to see the attitude ur guy's in, perfect little thing to do.
Graphics: Awesome graphics. Not the best, but the characters are very lifelike and the famous tennis stars look very much like the real thing. Great stage designs, and the crowd is much more detailed than in most sports games. The attitude of the characters is shown greatly on the chars face.
Sound: It sounds exactly like real tennis. Meaning that there is no music. The crowd claps and the tennis sounds like grunting at hard shots and ball sounds, are very realistic.
Suggestions: This is an awesome game, one thing it needs is more hairstyles and a larger variety in clothing.

Overall: I am going to keep this short because no one like to read a long review. But really, theres no words i could think of inside of my small cranium that could fully describe the feel to this game anyway, but hey, i mean, what could i say, cuz all you really do is hit a ball back and forth, am i right? I will just assume that i am.
Gameplay: Very, Very precise controlls, having each face buttons and triggers perform a different shot. It may sound to simple for us "video game junkies" out there, but the more you actually get in to the game, the more in-depth it becomes through out the entire career mode. But if you are really looking for a blast, then get a buddy to play doubles with you on xbox live. Extremely fun.
Graphics: All you really need in a tenis game to make it graphically good is some totally life-like animations, and some nice lighting effects. Top spin has both. So really, this game has some of the best graphics for any sports title today.
Sound: Ok, so far the game has some fairly nice graphics and tight controls, so now all we need is some good sound quality, which top spin, definetly delivers.
Suggestions: I think you should make a kind-of "top spin: extreme court tenis featuring anna kournikova"...If you, know what i mean. But...ummm, totally, in a ummm...non preverted way.

Overall: Excellent. Not only the best tennis game around, but arguably the best sports game around. Possibly ever!?.
Gameplay: Immaculate. It basically IS tennis. It's as close as you can get without actually grabbing a raquet and getting on a court yourself. Amazing.
Graphics: Fantastic. The best graphics i've seen in a longer time. Characters, stadiums, courts and even the crowds are all first-rate.
Sound: The sqeeks of the trainers on the hardcourt, the smash of the ball when it hits the raquet, the SMASH of the raquet when it's thrown to the floor. Perfect sound.
Suggestions: Try and get ALL the proffesional players on the sequel. Also, make it so the line-judges MOVE when the ball comes their way, rather than have them just let the balls hit them!.

Gameplay: Its great. It is like "pong" in a way. It takes strategy, it is fast pace, and best of all, it is smooth. I havent seen it glitch yet!
Graphics: The graphics are just AWESOME. I love them. they are clear, much like Amped 2 and other games like that. They are soo realistic. I love them.
Sound: The sound in this game is awesome. Especially Anna Kournakovas "grunt" when she hits the ball.. heh.. just had to get that in for touch. But really, the sounds are great. The ball sounds different on each turf. I love it

Gameplay: This game has a crisp clean feel to it. ITs been a few years sincei had picked up a tennis game and i felt right at home with the controlls. There is a career mode which is pretyt in depth and i found it to be much deper then expected.
Graphics: Awesome, awesome graphics. The replays and physics of the net are insane. I have a crappy TV and they still looked great. The court and player models are very detailed but the ball boys never run acroos.
Sound: Fitting music is played throughout the game and i dont see how you could mess up a tennis games sound. The racket hitting the ball is realistic and gives you a sense of accomplishment when you murder the ball

Overall: Overall i liked this game a lot. But the create a character feature was too easy to aquire your characters stats. And since this is such a big part of the game it loses a lot of value.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty good. Close games are very intense and fun to play. It's basically as good as a tennis game could be. But the online is lacking a little.
Graphics: Visually i think its great. By far the best looking tennis game ive seen on a home console. Very smooth.

Overall: This game is downright amazing. It requires actual skill, and the real life tennis strategies apply (except for tiring someone out).
Gameplay: The gameplay in this is amazing. As I said before, the strategies work. You can also choose when to show attitude to get your crowd up. Realistically, your player will play better with the crowd behind him.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are amazing. They are crystal clear, and the stadiums are great looking. You can basically see each individual fan.
Sound: The sound is the worst part of the game because there is none in the places with no viewers like the playground. Otherwise the sounds of hitting the ball and the ball bouncing are very realistic, and the crowd cheering is great.
Suggestions: Please put in announcers or something to fill in the sound and make the replay controllable.

Overall: This game blew my mind away. Hands down greatest tennis game ever. It definately lived up to all of my standards. Big 5
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. It isn't just hitting the ball over, you can play it flat, safe, slice, lob, put some top spin on it, and make it seem like an actual tennis match. Big ups in this category.
Graphics: The graphics were amazing, and absolutely blew my mind. Another great example of the power of the Xbox. Microsoft did a great job on this one with the detailing and everything. Only thing they could of improved, would be to make the game seem more like an actual broadcast with the score keeper at the bottom.
Sound: Sound is what you could expect. Grunts are heard when the player hits the ball, and the ball sounds like...well...a ball. Custom soundtracks are a nice addition. More commentary could be added.
Suggestions: Make more commentary, and make it feel more like a TV broadcast. Other than that, Top Spin 2 should be a good one too!

Overall: Now before I start, I should point out that I have never played tennis outside of elementary school gym class, but that I have always been a big tennis fan. I to this day continue to watch pro tennis on television. I point this out to prove that you do not need to be a tennis player to enjoy this game. My cousin for instance is not a big tennis fan, but he enjoys this game almost as much as I do. That being said, let's get down to business.

Gameplay: The controls are simple and effective. Four different types of shots (lob, slice, safe/flat, top spin) are mapped to the four face buttons and drop shot and risk shot are on the triggers. The risk and drop shots are hard to get used to, but once you master them, you are unstoppable. Beware about abusing risk shots online, however, you may make people very angry.
Graphics: Wonderful, lifelike, realistic graphics. The player models are highly detailed, and the stadiums look gorgeous, but nothing compares to the animations. The players move and perform like humans. It is a sight to see.
Sound: The sound is dead on, but the audio is lacking. There is virtually no music, and the absence of a custom soundtrack baffles my mind. Hopefully these issues will be addressed with the next edition
Suggestions: Hits:

Great graphics and control.
Live is incredibly fun.
Extreme character customization.

Misses:

Long load times.
Lack of audio and custom soundtracks.
Occasional ''blue screen of death'' and DDE's.

Overall: The need for a tennis game for ANY system was great. Finally, TopSpin took the chance and came out victorious. It has what a tennis game should have, a career mode, create-a-character mode, taunting, and praise. The graphics are great and the endless gameplay is good too. Its not too tough, but not too easy. You can play with many friends in a tournament mode in which you can see who is truly #1. Or play on Xbox and see if your #1 in the world! The only problem is the weak character selections. Only 16 (8 men, 8 women) real tennis superstars are included. Some missing include the Williams sisters, Andre Agassi, Tim Henman, Justine Henin-Hardenne and Andy Roddick! However, the selection choices they do supply are good. Sampras and Kournakova as well as others. Just know a tiny bit about tennis before playing ... like the simple and basic rules.
Gameplay: Gameplay is amazing. You can select from so many options and tournaments and doubles and singles. Its good.
Graphics: The Graphics are amazing in the game. Even from the things you don't realize like the skids on the clay courts. The graphics are clearly stunning.
Sound: From the shoes squeaking, to the sound of the ball hitting the racquet and the announcer saying the score .. the sound is good. Although the music could use some touch ups.
Suggestions: 1. Very slow load time.....
2. Would of been cool to have the whispering commentators..... :D

Gameplay: The controls are really straightfoward. The buttons each equal a different type of shot ie. topspin, lob, safe etc.
Graphics: The graphics seem really nice. I guess its hard to try and compare to other tennis games because there isn't any.
Sound: Personally, I think the sound is really weak. Especially when you are playing on playground type court without the crowd. Then all you hear is the grunts and ball bounces.

Overall: This is gotta be the best sports game that I have ever played. I am not really into playing football games and I never really liked basketball, baseball, or soccer. This game is probably the best tennis game ever made. It has so much to offer and I think that it should have been advertised more because nobody will truly see the potential for this game. Xbox live is cool on this game too, one of the first things I did with the game was make a character in career mode and play on xbox live against one of my school chums, lets just say that I still haven't beaten him on it but the xbox live aspect of the game is AWESOME!!! I definitely recommend this game.
Gameplay: The gameplay is awesome, remember how I mentioned the xbox live aspect, well they have career mode where you can customize basically every aspect of a person down to how far out the cheek bones flare, and which way the lips curve. This is great for when you want to show off how good you are when it comes to making an almost exact copy of yourself or just showing off the ugliest creation you have ever imagined. The career mode is extensive too, it lets you customize your character further by giving him training in 4 major skils or masteries as they are called in the game. Plus you can give him further skills such as curve serves or upped volley skills. Then with your character, you can work your ranking from 100 to 1 and you can get sponsors. It has over 15 tournaments that you can participate in. If that isn't enough, there is exhibition mode, where you can just play as one of the many characters that they have, or your character. You can also play a custom tournament too, this is an amazing aspect that I have never seen in as game before, you can play in a tournament with your friends against the computer so you can play one at a time to beat the person that you have to face, then you can eventually play each other in the final round. Also it lets you save it so you can play the tournament over a long time. Right now I am playing a tournament with my brother that is pretty relaxed, we haven't played yet because we are still going thru the quarterfinals. The game play is awesome. Plus, I forgot to mention that you can make an imagine of yourself through the emotions you exhibit on the court, you can give alittle aditude on the court or alot. Also I you give alot of aditude all the time, then you will throw the racket when you miss a close point. It is so cool!
Graphics: Top Spin is beautiful. The lighting is great, it shows your person having multiple shadows in a dome with lights all around. They ball even has a shadow. The game never gets choppy or pixelated. The characters are very lifelike and they exhibit human emotions and they look fantastic. The clay is especially fun to play on because the characters slide and it leaves a mark that stays there for most of the game. When they slide they even have dust flying up. This game has great eye candy.
Sound: The sound is the only gripe I have with the game, it has great music when you aren't playing a match, but the I think that there should be ambient music or something to give the game a little more, because all you hear is the crowd or the smash of a ball on the racket. But the smashs and the crowd sound very realistic. It feels like your in a real pro tennis match. It is cool when you throw the racket and it bounces, the sound is perfect. It is cool to listen to the ball when you hear it hit a panel or even the ground. It is very cool. Other than the lack of music during the matches, I think that the sound is very good.
Suggestions: Maybe alittle ambient music during matches, that is all I can think of. I love this game and it is my favorite sports game EVER!!!

Overall: I played Virtua Tennis and Segas tennis to death. I loved them. I didn't think it would be possible to duplicate their success. I was wrong. Topspin is the new tennis champion. It beats out those games in almost everyway except for in the minigame or training area. Other than that, Topspin will reign supreme for a long time to come. And it can only get better.
Gameplay: The gameplay is simple yet involved. My fiance who really don't play games picked this up and almost beat me on the first shot. The only shortcoming was the minigames. Some were really easy but the serving games were kinda tough. It is fun though. I have already played a few doubles matches with friends and we are having a ball.
Graphics: Beautiful. It looks a lot better than anything you have ever seen in a tennis game. I like to see the dust kick up when you play on a clay court. I like the player models and the overall feel of the game.
Sound: All the sounds of tennis of there. I like the sounds of the crowd they seem to be right on time. Good job.

Overall: This game has so far been all it was hyped. I love it, very fun for the tennis fans and for those who just like good multiplayer games.
Gameplay: Gameplay is extreemly intuitive. If you know how to hit a ball with a flat object you can get a handle on this game off the bat. The more intense parts are complicated at first but become easier, yet still challenging when figured out.
Graphics: Really outstanding in most respects. SOme people are upset that there is no widescreen support etc but for most of us thats no biggie. The playing surfaces are really outstanding looking and the stadiums are great. It is hard to make the character look exactly like yourself though.
Sound: 1 Word SWEET. The sounds are purely tennis. I would swear that I was watching them play. But 1 thing not enough female grunting when hitting the ball!.
Suggestions: One thing that I did not enjoy was while training if you failed the training you could not retry without the game exiting to the screen where you choose the training. This is upsetting when you just missed the objective by 100 pts and it throws you out just so you can reload it. BIG TIME WASTER. I suggest a popup asking if you want to retry for X amount of coin.

Overall: An awesome tennis game for the Xbox. This game has it all. The player motions mirror the actual pros better than any game I've seen yet. Once you get the timing down on the "Risk" shots you are invincible (almost). This is definately the best tennis game out for any system...period!
Gameplay: The gameplay for this game is outstanding! Your player goes where you tell him to go and makes the shots you expect him to make. He'll even take a "face plant" for you diving for the hard to reach shot. Certainly the best game play of any tennis game yet.
Graphics: Visuals for this game are incredible! The stadiums look great. The best part is the player animations. It is uncanny how the computer mirrors Pete Sampras's unique movements on court. The running forehand, ala Sampras, is there. His incredible net play is there. All of it!!! Truly the best I've seen yet in a tennis game or any game for that matter.
Sound: If there was any area of this game that I had to knock it'd be the sound. However, that's not to say it is not darn near outstanding. My only gripe is that the crowd noise really cranks up when you nail a nice shot. Granted that's how it happens in a real life match but when you're trying to play a nice quiet game late at night while the wife is sleeping and you want to hear the ball coming off the racquets you have to turn the volume up. That's where the crowd noise will get ya!
Suggestions: Keep up the good work!!!

Overall: So far this game lives up to the hype and then some. You can finally say goodbye to Virtual tennis and Mario, cause Top Spin is the only Tennis game to play. Multiplayer is fun and I can't wait for XSN tourneys. Finally an XSN Title that is good enough to buy and play.
Gameplay: Gameplay is a breeze to get the hang of. The buttons are easy and the shot selection is great. Its a total guessing game at times and the right shot can make or break you. Responsive controls, and fluid speed, what more can you ask for.
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good, with really no complaints. I would have like to have seen more detail in the other people besides the players, which look great. Stadiums all look awesome, as well as the playing surfaces.
Sound: Sound is good but not great, but then again its tennis. I would have likes custom soundtracks, but I can live without it. The crowds respond to the game just like real Tennis. There is however no commentary, which might not be a bad thing.
Suggestions: Better replay control to look at balls in or out, and custom soundtracks. Other than that good job, must buy.
