After six long years of blood, sweat and tears, it's over. Halo 3 has arrived, and although it doesn't mean the end of the massive franchise that has built up around Bungie's masterpiece, it does bring the tale of Master Chief's fight to a satisfying close. Halo fans have been in actual pain since November of 2004 from the cliff hanger ending of Halo 2 which left us clutching our controllers, plunged into an unexpected cinematic cutscene after a particularly vicious fight, watching Master Chief plummet through a massive orbital fight clutching a fragile Forerunner space probe as he breaks earth's atmosphere vowing to "finish the fight"."

Overall: It wasn't a long time ago, but I still remember all the excitement and fun I had playing my old Xbox. I don't know why, but I never tough of buying an Xbox 360 since now. Maybe it was because of the heat problem or I was probably too busy playing Battlefield 2142 on my PC. But times has past now and my PC is not powerful enough to meet the minimum requirement for game like Bioshock or Oblivion, so I decide to buy an Xbox 360 and get back in the best community and gaming experience I had in my life. The reason I bought and Xbox 360 was Halo 3. I so wanted to finish the fight that I spend nearly 800 $ on an Xbox 360 just to play this game. The result was really disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the Xbox 360 is a master piece of hardware technology, but I think that Bungie failed to demonstrate that Halo is an epic trilogy with the last chapter. Overall, Halo 3 offers a good visual engine and an amazing soundtrack, but falls short in leaving you with a fresh experience and give us one poorly encoded multiplayer.

In Halo 3, you are John 117, also knows as Master Chief, an advanced bio-genetic soldier. In this third chapter, you need to find the Ark and stop The Prophet Truth from activating the remaining halo.

Gameplay: I want to apologize for every spoiler I will say in this review. First, let is talk about the collector edition of Halo 3. Your bonus material for the additional fee is really nice, but does not worth the ten dollar you must spend for it. I had fun watching the video where we are seeing Bungie's employee working and playing the warthog mini game, but some part of the bonus disc is totally useless and not fun at all. As an example, the Nat/Router video is worthless and never helps me with the lag problem. Finally, when I bought my first Halo collector edition, the game disc was unstable inside the metal box and it became unreadable by my Xbox 360.

Now, we are going to talk about the single player. The campaign is a ten hour experience that included nine levels, who are also playable in cooperative. Personally, I think it was a huge let down. Anybody beside me think that those brutes are not fun to kill compare to the elites ? In my mind, they should have never made the change in Halo 2. If we are talking about the level design, I can say that most of them are tedious and boring. I had so many difficulties to find friend to play on co-op for the Cortana, Tsaro Highway and Floodgate level. Those levels add only a glimpse of explanation to the story and they are short and uninspired. At least, we got excellent and challenging level like The Covenant and The Ark. Does anyone also agree with the fact that Halo 3 race at the end is too much like the first Halo ? I think the last level feel completely rushed. They must have been out of idea by the time they reach the end of the game. The end was also a cliff-hanger. I personally cry at master chief's funeral. A hero who sacrificed himself for earth is the biggest hero ever been created for a video game. But the after-credit cut scene ruined everything. They also used the scarab so many times in the game that I became sick of seeing it. Of course, two scarabs on the same screen was awesome, but the fact that you beat four of them in the campaign reduces the fun of killing one of them.

Does it is me or Bungie focussed too much on vehicle for the entire game ? I spend most of my time driving from point A to point B with stupid teammate who don't know how to shoot or drive. In fact, Halo 3 delivers the worst artificial intelligent ever been created, but only for your allies. I know that we are the last hope of humanity, but when you saw those marines in action, you will completely understand the whole sentence. They always dies for nothing, they are useless except if you want some action and you can't let them drive if you want to survive. The arbiter was a major plot in Halo 2, but he is nothing more than a punching dummy for the covenant in the third chapter. He should be you alter-ego, but he is truly lacking of skill in this sequel. Otherwise, the enemy artificial intelligent is nearly perfect. In many moments, you are going to see the enemies flank between your safe positions, or if they are in danger, they will retreat and regroup.

A nice feature is that you can do the whole campaign with four player co-op. Maybe they should have made the game really much harder, but it's still a nice addition. Did I mention that you can use item in the single player campaign ? In my mind, the bubble shield, the portable shield and the anti-shield are amazing, but they forget to add some of them in the multiplayer and they should really have made more than just 4-5 items. Forge is a weapon, vehicle, object and spawn editor for Halo 3. This is a really good addition to the franchise, but you can only use it in a custom game. I had a blast with this feature and I am proud that Bungie made it. In Halo 3, you can also recorded and share mini-clip from the multiplayer and single player portion of the game. This feature is incredible. In fact, every first person shooter or games should have one, but for now on, Bungie is the only ones who made it. So I gave credit to Bungie for this innovation. I will never get tired of seeing a video with my friend in a killing spree or in a funny moment.

The biggest disappointment for me is the multiplayer. The amount of lag ruined the entire game. I had so many frustrating moments with lag that I put Halo 3 away for a while. Some people were able to kill someone with one battle riffle ammo and others, like me, will take two clips to kill someone even if I shot in the head. Some poor encoding is also a major problem in Halo 3. Most of the time, my sniper shot never kill the target even with a headshot. I saw so many videos on YouTube showing people do 4 to 7 headshot in a row on the same person and he never kills the guy. It is obvious that the sniper rifle is broken. The shotgun aim is also broken. Many times, the guy is not even aiming at you and he will kill you not matter how you aimed. The new melee system is also ridiculous. Who ever got the most health win, no matter who melee first. I really want the old melee back at all cost. Bungie should also include an anti-camping system. In any type of game, people are always camping. The team, who collect the most useful weapon and camp, win almost all the time. All maps have been design with camping spot that are difficult to take by strength or skill. You can also customize your character in Halo 3. The tag is awesome, the armour is really unique and cool. Too bad that colored armor is useless except in rumble pit. On ranked match, it could have been good to put more different weapon. The flame-thrower is only in one map, there is no flame grenade, the mauler is too much powerful and please makes the over shield (aka over-hit) work. Another problem is that you have too many grenades. A total of six grenades can be picking up and most people will throw everything they have on you. There is even people who throwing grenade first and then tried to kill you after. Grenade abuse is a cheap way to play and should be banned or restricted by Bungie.

Graphics: This kind of visual can be easily seen on an old Xbox if you play on a standard TV. On high definition, the game shines, but never outstands or achieves any visual standard. Halo 3 will never redefined first person shooter visual in my mind. I think that Halo 3 is more like Halo 2.5 than a brand new game, even on the gameplay department. There is only more action on-screen and a more decent framerate. I also notice that some cut scenes are horrible. In Cortana beginning scene, you can clearly see a picture as a background. Also, The Prophet Of truth skin is still ugly as hell. Finally, most of the physic collision detection doesn’t work. I get slam by a hammer and I went through the whole map, the warthog can fly with a jumping pad and master chief armour is floating went he died in the water.

Sound: Halo's soundtrack is a master piece. When I hear the main song, I always compare it to Superman or Star Wars main theme, because it will never get old. The possibility to play the whole game in french or IN a different language is amazing. The problem remains in the sense of some sentence because some translations are poorly done. There is also one or two place where there is no sound at all or no translation. Otherwise, the grunt sentence are hilarious, I laugh so many times.

Suggestions: Fix the sniper, fix the shotgun, I want the old melee system back, less lag, more item in multiplayer, anti-camp system, reduce the number of grenade and a brand new campaign in an xbox live update.

Overall: i really like the game. a lot of people complained about it being too slow, and what not compared to halo 2, and the sniper is off, etc etc. well i think its a great game. everything is good except still having problems with people leaving the game or not being able to keep up with their rank. i would def tell people this is a must buy game!!!

Can't wait until the next Halo game, either it be halo wars, or a halo 4... :D :D
Suggestions: more maps, maybe bring back original maps, not "knock offs"

Overall: Hello, I think the Overall should be 10/10 because everything about this game comes out great for everyone and everyone enjoys it. The Halo 3 game is very good because you can get good graphics, play Live, download a lot of cool and neat things on it, and you can play different types of play lists like Ranked, Social, Costume, Forge, and a lot more. In the game you can Rank up and become new Ranks like Sergeant to Sergeant Grade 2. Halo 3 Is Great!

Overall: HALO 3, what more do I need to say. The word says it all. I haven`t got too a game that has beaten this one. Acctually I am not the biggest fan of Sci - Fic games, but this one will always be my favoruite.

The story couldn`t be more timed or better. The sound is amazing, also the music.
And the feeling when you here Master Chief`s voice for the first time in the game, just gets your heart pumping. Because you know you wont put that X-BOX 360 controller down befor you have "Finshed the Fight".

I played the game for the first time on legendary, it was worth it. You get twise the action, and you have to plan your attack. And in the end you know that Master Chief is there when the world need`s him.

And I can`t come up with a thing that don`t say that this game should get a 10/10.

Overall: Master Chief is Back. With some new guns, new armor and the will to kill every @!%#*! thing on his way. Did you ever feel like a game was destined to be the one and only? The Third installment of the Halo series is undeniably the best. The fights will be over, but not without sweat, tears and some kick @!%#*! Online and Offline Co-Operation. This, my friends, is the reason why Xbox 360 was invented, to be able to play Halo 3. Finish The Fight. Bungie has done a terrific job on Halo 3 and the only thing that I am disappointed on: There will be no 4th Halo...maybe.
Gameplay: The new conrols really makes things simpler and more enjoyable. Love the new equipments installation. This game was meant to be played Live, Campaign = Live, Custom Games = Live, Ranked Matches = Live, Unranked Matches = Live. Halo 3 = Live.

Playing online is just so incredibly fun and making your own games and sharing it with your friends is even better, because with the new options, friends can play the games you made, and imagine how proud you would feel if your game becomes popular.
Graphics: The resolution is really good when playing on an High Definition TeleVision. Zoom in with the sniper on Master Chief, you will see how good it is. Although to make a visually perfect game is almost impossible, I have no complaints to make, the graphics are just right. I also love the way that now its not just Master Chief against Master Chief against Master Chief...etc. Now you can finally customize your Character to make it almost unique, if you have some imagination.
Sound: Audio is really well done. And sophisticated, if you are silent enough you can hear if someone is trying to burn you with a spartan laser or some cheap shot is trying to run you over with a ghost from behind. For some reason audio is just right, and you can really feel if its coming from afar or near you.
Suggestions: Make a Halo 4. For the love of the millions of fans you have. Do not let us down.

Overall: Halo has been a hell of a trilogy Halo 3 is a game that brings it to the next level the gameplay is the same except new weapons new maps (unfortunatly) and new game types. The game is a stunning game except it has only 1 downfall that makes this great game be desecrated and that is the maps coming from bungie and microsoft im very dissapointed with the maps. Putting aside the maps the campaign is pretty short the campaign is ok overall but the 4 player co-op is a brilliant idea and that is one of the shining details that makes halo 3 so great. It gets an 8.8 not because i dont like it its because the great game is tarnished because of the bad maps and whats the fun of bad maps fix it or it will get old and boring fast.
Gameplay: The gameplay is the same as the other halos but its slightly improved which makes all the difference. They brought back guns and they added new ones which make the game fun as well as vehicles which also increase the fun. The game is very fun to play which makes it great and why it gets a 10 if it had halo 2s maps it would be non stop fun and last for years no decades and be remebered for as long as people will remeber.
Graphics: The visiual is just stunning its takes your breath away bottles your mind and blows it up its that good. Everything looks nice from the background to the guns to the people your giving their daily dose of lead to. Even at some moment you willl even want to stop and just look and be stunned at how realistic a video game can be.
Sound: The Audio is great the music is just plain great and perfect its cl@!%#*!ical but with a tinge of rock/ metal in it which makes a stunning and perfect combination which will appeal to you. these songs are almost guaranteed to be stuck in your head for a long long while.
Suggestions: Only 1! Only 1! thing you MUST fix or halo 3 is going to go by fast MAPS MAPS MAPS if you dont fix these people are going to get tired of it and fast especially since COD4 is out so better hop to it

Overall: The Master Chief is back and better than ever! Halo 3 marks it's third installment in the series and possibly the last. There is no question that the Master Chief will be seen with other genres other than a first person shooter. But, he's back better than ever and if you own an XBox 360, this is the must have game for the system! Much of what is experienced here is the same with the addition of FORGE, the name slated for the map editor that allows players to manipulate multi-player maps by adding vehicles, moving weapons, moving respawn locations, and much much more.
Gameplay: Halo invented how FPSs should be played on an XBox controller. Halo veterans will feel right at home with the control scheme of this game, but, it does have a couple little tweaks. The "X" button now is your inventory button that allows you to toss down a bubble shield, throw down a health regenerator, and the like. The reload button is now the right bumper button above the trigger which makes for seemless reloading. New vehicles are operated seemlessly and feel quite nature to driving, as is very common with the Halo series. The new Mongoose, an ATV, is fast but operates quite well with a familiar control scheme. Other new vehicles include the Hornet, a new flying vehicle, and the Brute Chopper, a Covenant motorcyle with a large wheel that can saw through more than warm butter.
Graphics: The visuals are stunning in Halo 3. A lot of incredible dynamic lighting is the first thing you'll notice. It almost feels like there is a real sun above you as shadows are cast on everything that it should. The colorful landscapes and intricate detailed textures makes you feel like you're really a part of the action. The water effects are incredibly improved over preceding Halo games in the series as well as the bump mapping and real-time lighting. It's beautiful in 1080i, which is what I personally play the game on. Often times, HDTVs can be dark; however, Halo 3 offers an option to turn up the brightness in game rather than turning up the brightness of your television. This makes better quality.
Sound: Halo is known for it's mysterious orchestra music. This time around, Bungie doesn't interrupt the beautiful music with an annoying electric guitar like they did with Halo 2. One of the first things I noticed with the audio in Halo 3 is listening to the sounds of the Sniper Rifle during a match on the multi-player map "Valhalla". The sound of the Sniper Rifle seems to bounce off of the canyon providing a blood curdling sound (in a great way!). The audio is simply spectacular and certainly wasn't overlooked when producing this game. Halo 3 can be enjoyed in full 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The experience is truly surreal.
Suggestions: Bring on more multi-player maps! I can't get enough!

Overall: As any real gamer would know, this is the "final" game in the trilogy that has made the Xbox consoles the sh*t. From beginnning to end, the game is fueled with moments that make you not want to put the controller down. Forget bathroom breaks, wear a diaper! All of the elements come together to give you what you've been missing, a game that has it all! Big budget visuals and sounds plus compelling and addictive gameplay! Its time to finish the fight!

Beautiful visuals will keek you company through out the whole game...whoever knew getting your @!%#*! kicked would look so good?!

Interesting fact: if you're playing music and decide to jump on the game, a window will popup and tell you to turn off your bastard music and listen to what may very well be an audio orgasm...
Gameplay: If you've played any of the other games in the series, the gameplay elements pretty much remain the same: kill, run, drive, splatter, shoot, maim, stick, and blow sh*t up! The controls have been reformatted to fit the 360 controller and in my opinion, do it well. As far as differentiating this game from its previous installments, there is less backtracking, but more baddies.

Overall: The slogan is "Finish The Fight" and in that aspect the game delivers. I have noticed some degree of Halo 3 bashing on the internet. Probably a vocal minority since the game has sold 5 Million + copies. There are cpmplaints that Halo 3 is too different, complaints that it's too similar. That is where the problem lies. Bungie couldn't please everyone. Change the game too much and it's not like Halo (think Halo 2), don't change it enough and it's Halo 2.5. Personally it's the best video game I've ever played. In the vast open visual world that is Halo 3, the game delivers quite well graphically. Controls are Haloesque. 'nuff said. Dailogue is good and the plot is what I had hoped Halo 3 would be. I didn't expect Halo 3 to save me from the ills of my mundane job, cure my hypertension or help me quit smoking. I realized that it is a video game and that if it lives up to half the hype, will be a great game. It is and it's not available on any other console. Let's appreciate what we have here.
Gameplay: Once again (thankfully) you play as the Masterchief saving the world. You don't switch characters this game and the ending is not only complete this time. It is satisfying. Halo 3 is the third game of the series and masterfully picks up where Halo 2 ended. There are new weapons in the game and new vehicles that fit the series perfectly. The graphics, controls, storyline and controls are from the wizards at bungie. They pulled out all stops to make Halo 3 an epic title. The accolades are well deserved.
Graphics: There are some parts of the game like the circular cloud with the alien ships flying into the center where I just paused to enjoy the beauty of the scenery before me. There are many points of the game where I just stopped to smell the Grunts...er...roses. Speaking of Grunts, even the subtilest detail was not overlooked like whacking them on the back to see green gas shoot out. Some of the character models could have been better in particular the humans. They are a notch down from the grahics in the rest of the game but overall the graphics are very well done. The draw distance is simply amazing.
Sound: The weapons don't sound as "tinny" as some of the weapons did in Halo 2 (luckily they don't take up half of the screen either). The dialogue is what you would expect after playing the first two Halo games. My real compliant is that I can't adjust the music volume. Sure the audio score sends shivers down my spine and fits the visual context perfectly. Yes, my wife who is a fan of Johann Pachelbel and Beethoven hums along with the score but at least allow the user to adjust the background music.
Suggestions: Just make another Halo game.

Overall: It is the alleged end of the trilogy. The Masterchief is back and here is back to close the show like the champion that he is. Oh and what a champion he is! Halo 3 does not in no way disappoint. In no way at all. In fact it has exceeded my expectations and has thusly ruined my life. I have missed 6 days of work and I haven't had !&%$@#* since the game released. That's how good it is, and believe me sex with my wife is good.
Gameplay: Do I need to describe Halo 3? We played the game before, we all know what Masterchief does. Who doesn't know that the man is here to save us all from the covenant, the brutes, the flood, and gravemind? Who doesn't know about the Prophet Of Truth and the 7 rings he wants to use for the destruction of us all? If you don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about well, to be quite honest, stop reading this, I think you left your Dreamcast on.
Graphics: Great graphics, not as good as Gears, but better than anything else on the 360 thus far. The colors are beautiful, the details in some of the environments are awesome. And of course the masterchief never looked better.
Sound: Awesome. And the Halo music which has become legendary is the best in any game ever. Bar none.
Suggestions: One more time, please.
