Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder

Overall: This is an expansion to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon game. It adds new weapons and a new location to the original game.

Gameplay: It is a FPS in which you command a squad of troops against foreign targets. Makes use of all the buttons on the controller. Controlling the other squad is accomplished by looking at a map and then pointing to where they squad showed go. Not as detailed as RS3. When ever you move, your squad follows. This can get annoying for situations when you want to sneak up on something, but can't leave the rest of the squad behind. No real improvements over the previous version.

Graphics: Not as good as Splinter Cell or RS3. The environment is filled with detail and there is plenty of eye candy to be had. The detail is lost when views closely especially in the soldiers faces. Again, no real improvement over the first Ghost Recon.

Audio: Sound is pretty detailed to try to give the gamer the best experience. With 5.1 you can tell where the bullets are coming from as they pass by you. I like to crank the volume way up and try to experience the game.

Suggestions: More missions would have been great.

Overall Score: 5.0 / 10 Finding Nemo

Based on the hugely popular movie. It involves being the two main characters and traveling throughout the ocean completing different tasks.

To me it seemed to repetitive. Going through rings became boring after a few stages. Some of them were great fun like the ones where you have to bounce through a maze of bombs. Overall the controls are basic with direction through the joystick. The other controls include a burst and an action button. Can be very frustrating at times for a kids game.

Nothing really to complain about here. The addition of the movie clips works really well and keeps the game moving. Some really nice graphics added to make the underwater scenes visually stimulating.

The voices used in the game were very close to those heard in the movie. Not a game that will blow you away with sound, but it accomplished the pupose and mood it was supposed to set.

Suggestions: Seemed a little too difficult even on the lower settings. May be frustrating to the younger kids.

Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 The Sims

Overall: This game is based on the PC version of the game by the same name. The person doing most of the gaming is my gf and she had never played the PC version. The purpose is to guide a chacter through different parts of life.

Gameplay: The game involves your character interacting with the environment. You have to point onto different objects throught the house and then choose an action to occur. You can choose jobs and you earn money that can be used to upgrade things around you. Get a bigger house or various other aspects of your surroundings can be changed with money. You also interact with different characters and your actions can alter the types of relationships that you have.

Graphics: Basic graphics. Not too much detail is shown in any aspect of the game. Actions by the characters are not fluid and can be choppy at times. Your screen has a lot to look at most of the time, but items aren't in great detail.

Audio: Nothing to brag about. To me it makes no difference having surround sound in this game since it doesn't seem to make use of it. For the most part the audio is just basic sounds that get repeated.

Suggestions: Maybe downloadable content.

Overall Score: 6.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3

Overall: I just don't know where to start. I love every aspect of this game. It is easily my favorite game now, and is very close with Halo as the best game on the Xbox. I was hyped about this game before it came out, and now realize it has lived up to all my expectations and then some.

Gameplay: Not being a computer gamer, I cannot compare it the previous PC versions. The gameplay is easy to pick up and very efficiant. It provides the close quater action that other games lacked. You have a huge selection of primary weapons that you can mix and match with various other weapons. Another aspect of the game that I enjoy is the voice recognition. This make the gameplay smoother by allowing you to simply tell your squad to do something. This also increasing the speed of the game by allowing you to bypass the hold A and issue command sequence that you would normally do.

Graphics: They made improvements over the Ghost Recon series. Details are an important part of the game. When you shoot someone, not only does their blood splatter against the wall, but their body reacts to being shot. You can also tell if your troops are injured by seeing the blood that they have on various parts of their body.

Audio: I have no complaints about the sound. I have a 5.1 system in my house that I play the game on and love it. The action is all around you and you can hear in which direction the people are moving. Bullets can actually be heard going past you. It seems that the developers took the time to create sounds for each of the weapons instead of using a generic sound.

Suggestions: My only complaint is the lack of co-op on the same Xbox.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
