If I told you I had a game to sell you and it would only cost you $20 you might be interested. But then, if I told you it was two years old, would you still be interested? Then what if I told you that you might very well have almost the same game in your collection already?"

Description

A blend of deep simulation detail and high-octane arcade action, "Sega GT Online" challenges gamers to qualify for licenses, compete in a series of increasingly competitive races and earn money to soup up their rides and buy newer, more powerful cars. Players can then fine-tune nearly every aspect of their car's performance - from the muffler and brakes to the suspension, body weight and tires, before hitting the online racing circuit.

Overall: Overall its worth the $20. The game adds some nice new cars and a few badly needed tracks. The online mode is promising but right now it needs some work as it has many problems.
Gameplay: The gameplay is the same as in Sega GT 2002. Pretty good car physics and cars are upgradable with even more parts. They now added 4 player split screen support aswell. The online part has many features. Downloadable content should allow for new parts, tracks, and cars. The net code seems okay, still could use a lot of work. I wouldn't play with too many people in a game right now. You can buy and trade cars and parts with other people. A problem came up with a car I got from a trade though. It cause my game to crash when I select it in my garage. Also finding games is hard because if you select a game after searching in optimatch and the race has begun, you get sent back to the like online menu and have to do a optimatch search again to find a new game. So it can take 30 sec to find a game, if the game has already started you get sent back, and then you need to search again and try to get into a game again and if you don't get in you have to search again and so on.
Graphics: Graphics are dated. Even on HDTV the graphics don't look very clear. Its definately behind PGR2, Group S, and many others. However the car models are well done and the graphics are toleratable.
Sound: The sound in the game is pretty good. The engines sound good and cars sound different when they have turbos and etc.
Suggestions: Graphics Overhaul.Fix Online mode search menus for optimatch. Fix bugs with trading. Work on net code.

Overall: This is the same as Sega GT 2002 but with more added bonuses including online play. Overall the game delivers in every aspect of online play dispite the little problem of a glitch when you see the other players car go fly by you but its not a big deal becouse the trading, betting, and selling aspect of the online version...this online trading and betting and selling aspect that sega came up with was a ground breaker, and i know other car games will now come out with thier versions of online trading but we all know that sega gt online led the pack.
Gameplay: The game like i said was the same as the older version but it also has added better tracks and cars...the cars are now even more better and the player can fix them up with more parts. when online thier are rooms that describes the types ofgame rooms they are, for instance the trading room lets other people who are in the room to trade anything with the other person, or bet thier car in the race, or bet for money, or some are class of cars only, and some are trading cars and some rooms are having a garage sale, also the online aspect lets you upload your race times and put them as ghosts so other players can see your race time and try to beat them, thier are also competitions sega online has and if you are in the top of the bunch after a wile you will get the ability to download more cars are prizes such as parts which is a added bonus that has replay value for a long time. offline it has many different levels onjoyment as well incuding a garage band section that has songs and videos YES videos of bands so you can listen and view at your leiser. thier is a section that also lets you do time trials to put online.
Graphics: the grahics are good in the aspect of the shiny cars to the detailed roads but i wish they could of added damage effect.
Sound: You can listen to your tunes what more do you want, the car sounds and pavement screeches are all thier no problems on that.
Suggestions: you should have named in sega gt online 2004 becouse with all this added stuff to the game it is a step up from 2002, also the glitches in the game like the cars not stable wile playing other people online they are jumpy sort of like how the moto gp online demo was, im not going to say its lagg becouse some link lagg to a slow down of play but the cars still run smoothly wile playing online....so yea work on that glitch problem.

Overall: This game is Sega GT 2002. Which happens to be a direct port of Sega GT from the Dreamcast. For a measly $20 you can pick up this "good" not "great" game.
Gameplay: If you played either of the two previous versions then you know what to expect. Nothing has really changed. New to the lineup for Single Player is the Gathering Mode. This is a series of Time trials and cone contests. The great thing about this new mode is the fact that you can unlock a new car with each race. So, ontop of the cash you earn you get the chance to earn these.

However, my main complaint is that even though it is advertised that you get to keep your cars, goods, and cash from GT 2002 you don't. You get a percentage of money based on how many races you have won up to a max of $130,000. A nice little perk if you don't mind loosing everything that you have spent the last few weeks building up in anticipa....ok sorry was on a rant there.....
Graphics: Same graphics....not really more to say. But honestly for $20 what more do you want?? However, they attempted to up the graphics on the new tracks.
Sound: Any game that will allow you to use your own soundtrack gets some perks in my book. Instead of listening to the "new" tracks that the Online version brings to the table you can listen to your own tracks. However, each car has a slight variation on the sound of the cars so I cant rate it extremely low.
Suggestions: Fix the online "glitches". These include lag when you have 6 people in a room, the dropping problems with 6 people, the crazy "diving through" cars ocasionaly bug, and the choppiness of voice chat in game. All of thease can be fixed with a latency patch. Once this is fixed it will be all good!
