Project Gotham Racing 2

Overall: Project Gotham Racing 2, the second installment of the series on Xbox (there was MSR on Dreamcast, though). The sequel includes over 100 cars, more cities, a more balanced Kudos system, a fantastic single player, and perhaps the most important, Xbox Live.

Gameplay: One of the worst things about PGR1 is that you'll have a huge combo going, then all of a sudden, you'll just barley nip the wall, and you can kiss your kudos goodbye. Well, these days you won't have to worry about that. The kudos system is not only more generous this time, it's a lot more fun. You can get kudos by overtaking people, sliding, drafting, getting air, pulling a two wheeler, and plenty of other ways. There is a garage, that lets you walk around in a large room, showing all of you cars. There is another garage type thing, but it's called the showroom. It lets you walk around to every car in the game (they are all in seperate rooms, seperated by their maker. ex. all the ford cars are in the "Ford" room.) You can test drive all the cars in the showroom, too. Also, there is fantastic Xbox Live play. Up to 8 players in each race, and plenty of opportunities to gain kudos to make your rank go higher. You can race every map online that you can race offline. The host can make it rain, be a sunny day, or even make an outcast ski. The host of a room can also make everyone race in a certain series, or even a certain car. For people looking for a total simulation, you'll most likely be disappointed. If you're looking for a total arcade racer, you'll be disspointed. Project Gotham Racing 2 is a perfect balance between the both simulation and arcade, which in my opinion, makes this game superb.

Graphics: Awesome. The graphics are just... awesome. Everything from refletions, to textures, to car models look spot on. The envoirments are decent, but can get boring after a while. People will complain about the 30 frames per second, but it's not that noticable, if you ask me. Overall the graphics are fantastic, and only degraded by the dull envoirments and 30 frames per second.

Audio: When playing with certain cars, you'll rev up your engine, just to hear it. That's how good it sounds. The car engines are simply some of the best, and you know that when you hear your car rev up like it's a killer. It's fun hearing your car scretching when you nail on the breaks. The sound effects by themself make the sound awesome. The soundtrack is also very good. The soundtrack has a "radio" option that you can turn on different stations while driving. Say you're in Hong Kong, you'll hear Hong Kong music while driving, and such. Although the soundtrack is superb on it's own, nothing beats custom soundtracks!

Suggestions: Give us some DLC! Though the cars are great, it would be even awesomer to see some mclaren f1s, and some Lamborghinis! Oh yeah, and make PGR3! Other than that, great game, I love it.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack

Overall: *Note: This review is as if you have never played GTA before. (I have played both versions, though.)

One of the most successful Playstation 2 titles is now on Xbox. It's been over a two year wait for GTA3, and a little bit over a one year wait for GTA: Vice City, but they're here now. Does it still give the suberb gameplay the PS2 version had? Read on to find out.

Gameplay: Face it - it's revolutionary. You can virtually do whatever you want. Want to steal a car? No problem. Want to kill a cop? Go ahead. Want to drive around, running people over, or just drive around smashing other cars? Go ahead. Now, saying that, there is a story. In Vice City, the story is very similar to Scarface, (Yes, Scarface, the movie). Infact, you'll even have a replica version of the mansion. One more thing I have to say about the gameplay is, this isn't a game you'll beat in one night, trust me on that.

Graphics: When this was on PS2, it was said to "max out" the PS2. Well, we know that's not true, and it doesn't come close to doing it on Xbox. However, the graphics are fantastic for a game like this, and improved over the PS2 version. Shadows, textures, REFLECTIONS, and longer drawling distance have all been improved in this game. There have just been a lot of details put it too, such as fingers on people (might sound funny, but the PS2 version had "mittens as I would like to say.), and it also, the mouths move in the voice overs. Even with all of these improvements, this game could still be improved to take advantage of Xbox's hardware, but the 30fps framerate is very consistant.

Audio: Perfect. I don't see how it can be improved. With radio stations, and the custom soundtracks, it's like heaven. Not only is the radio and custom soundtracks awesome, but so are the sound effects. When walking around the streets, you'll hear cars beeping, pedestrains talking or screaming at each other. Also when you're in the car, and you slide, you'll hear scretching, and other stuff you'd expect for car SFX.

Suggestions: Put the next one on Xbox!

But seriously, how about some more cars like Ferarri's, Lambergini's, etc. All these cars would be nice, but nothing would be better than online support. I don't know how it would work online, but if done right, it would be amazing.. just don't make people pay2play.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3

Overall: Rainbow Six 3, the lastest game in the Rainbow Six series. This game is almost completley different from the PC version, and offers a brillant online setup. There isn't any co-op offline, but there is a fantastic one for online.

Gameplay: Put it this way, if you loved Ghost Recon, and Socom for PS2, you'll love this. Probably the most realistic shooting game to be found on any consoles this generation. You can use voice commands (there are over 89 commands), simaler to Socom, but better.

Graphics: Wow, great. It's on Splinter Cell level, but isn't quite "Splinter Cell" graphics, even though it's using the splinter cell engine. There are a lot of interactive enviorments, such as breaking computers, tv sets, computers, and also footsteps in the snow and such.

Audio: Nice sound effects really put this game together, IMO. You can hear footsteps creeping behind you, bullets wising right behind you, different gun nosies. It's the stuff you'd look for in a Tom Clancey game, but more.

Suggestions: I loved the downloadable content as soon as I got the game, but how about balancing out the 50 cal? Also, let's get some capture the flag, or some other modes for online!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Burnout 2: Point of Impact

Overall: Burnout 2 is one of the fastest racing games on the Xbox, if not the fastest. The Xbox version is the best version, so the developers say, and gave it the "Directors Cut". The game has various gameplay modes, like &ot;, "Time Attack", "Crash Mode". The game does have live support, but only for stats, which is a bummer, but the game is so much fun, that you forget about it.

Gameplay: Wow, there's not really enough to say about the game. Great racing game, very fast. A lot of unlockable cars. Out of the gameplay modes, in my opinion, the best one by far is crash mode. I rented the game just to play it, actually. It's a blast, and can be very challenging. You have to go into a interstate, road, cliff, etc. to cause as much damage as possible. The bigger the object you run into, the more damage it will cause. In racing, you can get boosts by doing a few tricks that you learn when you first start game game. If you drive on the wrong side of the road, your boost meter will go up slowly, if you go past a car closley, but don't hit it, your boost meeter will rise, and the same if you get air, and turning. Time Attack is pretty easy to understand.. beat the clock..and win. After all those, you still have Championship, where you race and unlock cars, such as the hot rod, police car, and a bunch of others. Though it's called championship, you might think it was all races, but it's not, you sometimes have to do be a cop, and try to stop people which is always fun.

Graphics: The graphics are !&%$@#* good in this game, the cars, road, enviorment all look fantastic. The crashes are nice, because mostly all the parts come flying off, you can see the glass shaddering, the tires rolling off, hoods and doors flying, it's great.

Audio: The sound in the game is pretty nice as well. Decent soundtrack, and you can also use custom soundtracks as well. But perhaps the best feature is Dolby Digital 5.1, it just makes the sounds in the game like crashes, beeping, all realistic, and kind of cool to hear behind you, infront of you, etc. Well, it kind of makes you feel like you're actually on the road, I think.

Suggestions: Hmm..great game. Maybe Live support next time? ...WITH TRAFFIC!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 MotoGP

Overall: MotoGP - What can I say? I could never do this stuff in real life, lol, so why not play it on a video game? Everything in this game is highly realistic, to the gameplay to the graphics, to the sound, awesome game. Especially with the new online feature, this game is awesome. Very smooth running, and just fun.

Gameplay: Woah! What I said when I played this game. Great simulation, very realistic. Everything from the exciting tracks, to the crashes in this game are beautiful. The controls are crispe, and the AI is great. Challenging races will occur a bit when playing this game, and crashes are possible, so watch out. When riding on the track, everything is nice and smooth, but riding in the grass, gravel, etc is a lot more bumbing, rough , and hard to ride it. When playing on Xbox Live, there is no better online racing game currently.

Graphics: "Damn." The graphics in this game are amazing, no jaggies what-so-ever. My only complaint is that the bikes aren't very detailed, but I can forgive that. The levels are beautiful, and the track actually sparkles sometimes. The people in the crowd look realistic, and the riders of the bikes look fantastic. Great visuals!

Audio: It's a beautiful experience hearing your bike rev up like a real one, hearing the crowd cheer, and wait for the siron to start up. Yes - this game has all of this, fantastic audio, with breaking, screetching, and powerful - engine sounding sounds make this game fun to play, and fun to listen to.

Suggestions: Hmm...great game! Can't wait til' MotoGP2!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 NFL 2K3

Overall: Nice game, a few mistakes, but no one's perfect. I am impressed with the ESPN layout, and the nice options for franchise, season, exibition, etc..

Gameplay: The gameplay on this game is fantastic. The controls are a little hard at first, but within a hour or two, you'll master it. Anyway, this game isn't like Madden 2003, where you can break a 50yd run everytime, NFL2k3 is more realistic, with the casual break out every once and a while. The passing is pretty realistic to, but can be frustrating, say your man is wide open running straight down the field, at times, the quarterback will overthrow him, underthrow him, etc.. Also, they have some nice trick plays in some play books aswell. One bad thing though is that you can't challenge plays, which hurts the game. Why? Because at times, I've gotten a touch down (litterally over the whole goal line) and they called me down at the one. (And yes, the ball was over.)

Graphics: The graphics on this game are pretty nice. I gave them a 4.5 because somethings just don't look right, what I mean is the stadiums just don't look that good, in my opinion. And also, some play's are not really looking like them. But as for good things go, Kordell Stuwart of the Pittsburgh Steelers, looks very realistic, I thought. Also, the fields, crowds, coaches, etc, look very realistic, and I was surprised.

Audio: The sound on this game is mediocre. This is the only "weak" point of NFL2k3. I find the commentary very repetetive, and at times, predictible what they are going to say. Although, they do have some intresting saying's like "You can't coach that" which is kind of funny. The hitting sound is pretty well, though.

Suggestions: Make an option to be able to challenge plays, and try to record more sound commentary. Also, get better touch down dances, haha.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

Overall: Oh my god. All I can say is that this game did infact live up to my expectations - and beyound! This game will get my vote for game of the year, for sure.

Gameplay: Hm, gameplay. Pretty awesome gameplay. You sneak up on people from behind, and if you press the "A" button, you'll choke them demanding what you want, and after-if they give it to you, you can knock them out, which is really fun! Also, you can do very stealthy moves, like roll, slide down ropes, climb aross ropes, all quitely. This game impressed me heavily with all the effort they put into the moves. The controls are the only down part, pretty big learning curve, but after about 1/1 and a half hour, you'll master it.

Graphics:
Visual: One word, "Wow". Best graphics on Xbox yet. Lighting - best lighting in any game, also. Infact, you need the lighting to hide from camera's, guards, etc. You can also hide bodies here. Mostly Everything looks great, with the exception of maybe the model's mouth movings, I mean, when they are doing voice overs. It looks like they missed on a couple of words. Faces to levels are highly detialed, though. It looks like the producers wanted to go the extra mile on this game's visuals. Very well done.

Audio: Hm, sound, probably the worst part of the game. (But still, not bad.) Not much sound in the game, and the voice overs can sound wierd at times. Other than that, the sound's pretty good, but there's not much sound in the game, other than footsteps, fire, rain..etc. Still rather good, though.

Suggestions: No sugguestions, with the exception of maybe making a sequel. Shows you've put a true effort into this game, and should be proud. Good Job.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4

Overall: Great game. Brand spankin' new graphics, along with some new gameplay, and scoreing system. Fun multiplayer system, along with create-a-s

Gameplay: Wow! Great, new, exciting gameplay, mainly career mode! The changed the whole thing, and made it twice as good! I don't want to spoil you on how it works, so go check it out.

Anyway, the game is still pretty much unrealistic, but that's why it's so fun..I guess!

Graphics: Great graphics. Maybe not as good as some other games, but decent. They have some ups and some downs. The models are much more smooth, along with level layouts. Although, the models are a bit jaggy.

Audio: You'll love this game if you're into punk-rock! For me, though, I need the Xbox's hard drive. :)

Suggestions: Hopefully we see THPS5.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Splashdown

Overall: Splashdown is a fun game. Fun races good courses, it's a overal good game. I think it's a game for everyone, and hopefully you will try it out.

Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty good, and smooth, but with the original Xbox controller it makes it kind of hard. Yet, the gameplay is still good.

Graphics: Very realistic water, and rider models. The water has waves, and some even crack! Grass and trees look very nice also. Plus this game has been upgraded from the PS2 verson!

Audio: Great sound in this game! Well, that is if you like punk, haha. This is more of a punk sound track. But you can also burn your CD on to the Xbox Harddrive and listen to it on this game as well..

Suggestions: Keep the good games coming, I will look for a sequel!

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 WWF Raw

Overall: Well, the game is overal decent. I mean, it's not no No Mercy or WrestleMainia 2000 for the ninedo 64, but it's a decent try by Anchor.

Gameplay: Well, this is the biggest complaint. The control system is kind of well "Tweaked". You can be beating on a guy for about a hour, and still be losing! The crowd meter is a good concept, in my opinion, though. You have to do different moves, which makes it intresting.

Graphics: The graphics on this game are amazing. A few people including, Triple H, and Chris Beniot, and a few others are the exception. But mostly everyone else is fantastic.

Audio: The sound in this game is pretty good, actually. The ring music isn't all that great but it's good. As for the entrances they are great. The sound, and videos are fantastic.

Suggestions: Well, go back to AKI, or atleast make WWE RAW2 Wayyy better!

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10
