Triple Play 2002

Overall: Over all the game hasen't changed from the Triple Play I used to play on my old Playstation. It's cool and I think it's the best Baseball game for the XBox.

Gameplay: Good gameplay, controls are simple and easy to remember. Only thing that really sucks on it is the fact that rookie mode is for parapalegics, pro mode is for 2 year olds and not even Clemens or Johnson in the flesh could pitch a good game in All-star mode. Ease up on the modes of play by making pro a little more difficult or All-star a little easier and the game would rock.

Graphics: Great graphics. The stadiums are really nice looking. Players faces are pretty cool too. Most really loook like the player.

Audio: Good ammount of music and a great selection. The ballpark sounds are very realistic as well.

But may Harold Reynolds get a thousand paper cuts and fall into a pool of AIDS. He is the WORST announcer in the history of the sport and the most annoying thing about this game. No one can seem to get announcers to say the right thing at the right time... ever. If it wasn't for Reynolds I would give the sound a 5. That's how annoying he is...

Suggestions: Like I said throughout, change up the modes of play and take Reynolds on a ill-fated bungee jumping excursion and the game would rock.

Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Wreckless: The Yakuza Mission

Overall: When you get right down to it... the game just didn't shine the way it should/could have. It seems like they downloaded this straight from the arcade onto a CD. I just gotta say, you know the game could be a lot better when your girlfriend actually enjoys playing it! You guys know what I mean!

Gameplay: Smitty78 said it best when he refered to this as a kids driving game. Comon guys, I expect games like this from the Gamecube, not a superior gaming system such as Xbox.

It's a cool game when you first start playing and a nice change from Gotham Racing(lets face it, you can only play Gotham so much before you wish you really WERE one of Yates' children). But it gets old faster than Rosie O'donnell, having to play the same missions over an over until finally out of the blue you just happen to win (I've yet to figure that out). More missions, more variety and less of a cheesy plot would make this game a great seller.

Graphics: The only thing this game has going for it (besides holding a drinking glass on my coffee table). They didn't skimp on the graphics. In mission B-4 the water ripple effects were beautiful (insert another Yates joke here). They did a great job in general on the different texturs and cars. Some of the best graphics I've seen in an Xbox game to date!

The only reason I didn't give the graphics a 5.0 is the fact that the colors aren't crisp. It seems they dulled them for some reason. Why? Why would you do such a thing?

Audio: What sound?!? After hearing the crappy music/dialog once I decided it was best for everyone involved if I just tuned into the radio or listened to a CD. To bad you couldn't import your own driving music already saved on the Xbox.

I know sound isn't the main reason to buy a game but it definatly adds a lot of enjoyment to the overall game play. Good music gets people hyped up, the Wreckless soundtrack makes me feel like Sonny Bono after the accident...

Suggestions: Take some gameplay/usability tips from Rockstar and Reflections, add your graphics and have a Crystal Method cover band supply the soundtrack. Then make a game where I can drive on the correct side of the road!

Overall Score: 7.0 / 10
