Midnight Club 2
Overall: This was and still is a great game! Very nive visuals and many hours of gameplay witht the addition of Live gameplay. Though I purchaesed this game when it was released, I still find time to play it once in a while.
Gameplay: MC 2 plays very nice. Many different modes of gamplay add additional life to this game, especially Live. Also, many features like turbo boosts and drifting make this game a great racer for Xbox.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are very detailed, although they are not simulated to look "real". Car models look sweet and night racing looks fantastic. Plenty of buildings and lights in this game, so you will never get lost in a race.
Audio: Sweet tracks in this game. Could have been better if custom soundtracks were implemented, but original sountrack will do, although there isn't many of tracks built in. The best sound award goes to the turbo boost!!!!!
Suggestions: Try to get this game out of the city, and custom soundtracks!!!
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Project Gotham Racing 2
Overall: This is a great game. Greatly improved from its predecessor with the additions of XBL gameplay and custom soundtracks,to name a few. PGR 2 is undoubtedly the best racer for the Xbox and probably will hold that title until PGR 3 arrives!
Gameplay: Awesome realism! Various gameplay modes offer endless hours of racing possibilities. XBL is what really sells this game. Being able to stack up kudos and match your stock with others is amazing!
Graphics: Graphics look very intense and car models are amazingly accurate and slick! The scenery gets boring after a while; all races occur in city streets. Tire marks on the cement look especially nice in the rearview!
Audio: Custom soundtracks? Brilliant! If you dont have a system in your real car, then you can count on this game! Rip your own songs to your HD and listen to them during races! The biult in soundtrack is not too bad either, as it covers a wide variety of genres. Engines make real nice sounds, some sleek and others intimidating! Also, the sound of racking up kudos couldn't sound any better
Suggestions: More cars for the next installment and the ability to modify them too!
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack
Overall: What can be said about this game...IT'S GTA ON XBOX. Finally two of the best games ever created made its way to the Xbox. Although these games are not new, they have enormous replay value and an unbeatable price for both GTA 3 and GTA Vice City. Even if you complete all the missions, there are plenty of other things to do in the city; from collecting bonus items to achieving personal bests in different events (jumps, races, etc.). These types of games are must buys because you hardly get boared of them due to the diversity of gameplay
Gameplay: One of the most unique games on the market, GTA explores massive cities with the aid of plenty of automobiles and even military equipment. Its fast-paced, brutal, and fun! The mix of automobliles are well established; take a smooth ride down the road in a Sentinal or rip up the streets with a Cheetah, it's all there. Got beef? GTA is the remedy with a mass arsenal of weaponary. There are too many gameplay possibilities in this game to explain, it's just got everything.
Graphics: This is where this game lacks. Although the environments and models are done fairly well, details are horrible. One would think that the Xbox version will be more graphically enhanced right? It seems as if the graphics downgraded from the ps2 versions. Some human models are just plain choppy and the thick grey lining around cars seem brutal. Although, some of the "special effects" did seem a bit more nicer liek car explosions and rain drops on teh screen. However, I pray for a graphic overhaul in the next GTA on Xbox.
Audio: Absolutely the best soundtrack for any game ever created. Wether you're a hardcore rocker or a rap enthusiast, this came covers almost every musical genre. And if that aint enough for you, this game will even play your own tunes directly from your Xbox hard drive!
Play on playya!
Suggestions: I heard about an online GTA..........
Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Overall: A good attempt to revive the "rpg" scene on the xbox. Farily good game, but room for many improvments. One of the good things about this game is its diversity and options.
Gameplay: Game play pretty smooth, however, there are a few bugs. The camera angle can not be tolerated with and the dreadful loads make many gamers impatient.
Graphics: This is where this game gets a littly dull. Graphically, you would expect top-notch visuals from, for the most part, rich and complex games. KOTOR, unfortunetly, does not fall in that category. Frame rates are are off and overall polish of the game needs some tuning. Environments look decent, but again, fall short of
Audio: Not much to be heard here. At least characters voices are recorded and actually heard rather than plain text.
Suggestions: Ante up on the Visual department; give them guys a raise if you got to!
Overall Score: 8.0 / 10 Brute Force
Overall: This was a good game, for teh first few weeks, then is just gets boring. There isn't much in this game that that motivates me to put it into the box and start playing again :/
Gameplay: Game plays very smooth and it has great control, but there isnt much variety in gameplay. Run, jump, shoot....loop....
Graphics: Visuals look great, but seem repetitive. Its like doing the same magic trick over and over again; people will get baored of it.
Audio: Character voices seem to be one fo the highlights of this game. Brutus and tex sound like beasts and the ladies sound like, ah...they make the game more appealing! Overall, good vocal foundations.
Suggestions: Just double-up on everything and add multiplayer through live, you lazy bastids :)
Overall Score: 7.0 / 10 NBA Street Vol. 2
Overall: Dramatic face life from its predecessor. New players, rewards, and best of all, trick moves. I played the first NBA Street and I loved it. Now, EA Sports has re-defined street basketball with NBA Street Vol. 2 which is, by far, the best street basketball game on the market.
Gameplay: The gameplay, like NBA Street, is very smooth. Street Vol. 2 allows palyers to preform various trick moves and combinations, without burning out your fingers. And if you still think it's a difficult game to play, EA gives you infinate oppertunities to pracitce your moves with "Street School". The Kick Pass?, whooo boy, that's flamboyance in its greatest form.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are amazing. The only place I believe needs improvment is the players' face details. Jordan looks like Mcgrady in the replays.
Audio: Awesome tunes in this game. DJ Bobbito Garcia: simply the best choice for commentary. This guy knows street basketball inside out. Much love to EA for providing gamers with great music and commentary to it's games.
Suggestions: I know you guys are not impressed with how Microsoft regulates XBox Live, but this game would have been magical if it was Live enabled.
