Wreckless: The Yakuza Mission

Overall: This game is the Fast and the Furious for the XBox. Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions is a game that takes all the power that the Xbox brings to the table and drives right over it, pushing it to its limits. In Wreckless, you control either a couple of female police cruisers out to capture the city's punks or a pair of knuckleheads more bent on destroying the property around Hong Kong then taking care of the immediate task at hand. Which you are to complete 20 whole missions.

Gameplay: Some people may confuse this with GTA3, thinking you can get out of your car and shoot/fight. But once they play the game, they are let down. I find that to just be pure stupid. It is just a great game. The gameplay is just pure fun.

Graphics: For the replays in this game, wreckless features a dynamic camera system that's sure to make the competition cry. It's the most amazing camera system that I have ever seen. When it comes to Wreckless' visuals, prepare to be blown away like the way you have never been blown away before. This is the very first time that I actually felt like I was controlling a computer-generated movie. There are games out there that, in some ways, look slightly more realistic than Wreckless, but CG images have a certain appearance that hasn't been recreated in a video game until now.

Audio: The gameplay is unique and the visuals are stunning, but Wreckless' music is pretty average. The soundtrack consists of several repetitive, similar-sounding techno songs that fail to entertain the listener. You can't play the music stored on your harddrive either. If you can only use the soundtrack option..hmmmmm.

Suggestions: I would of gave it a 5.0 is it had Multiplayer. We Need Multiplayer! Guess I have to wait till Wreckless 2. If it had Multiplayer it would have a better replay value.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Halo: Combat Evolved

Overall: After playing through Halo a couple times I can safely say with no repentance that it's one of the most engrossing games I've ever played in my entire life. Prior to Halo, I'd have to give the nod to Half-Life as the best first person shooter ever. But now, that award goes to Halo, as the game is masterfully presented and offers a rich gameplay experience until the very end. Truly, no other current first person shooter can match what Halo offers. Visually, the game is splendid, aurally; the Xbox has better sound support than the PC can match, and other than a few rare occurrences where the frame rates become somewhat choppy in wild firefights, it's perfect. Not many games with multiyear development cycles live up to fans? expectations, but I think that Halo is one of those rare exceptions. If you love sci-fi themed first person shooters, Halo is a must buy even if you have to wait for the PC or Mac version. If you have an Xbox, you must own Halo. It's just that simple.

Gameplay: The gameplay in Halo is a mix between first person action on foot and third person romps in vehicles, either as a driver or gunner, depending on the situation. The physics used for the vehicles is just amazingly cool, and the control scheme on the gamepad is quite an impressive feat in game design as well. While the controls do take some time to master (especially for us hardcore mouse and keyboard jockeys) people with minimal levels of hand-eye coordination should be able to play Halo on a gamepad without too many problems. I recommend playing the game on one difficulty level lower than what you'd usually pick for PC games until you get the controls down to minimize your initial frustrations. Once you beat any of the 10 chapters you're free to go back and play them on any difficulty level you wish, as long as you start from the beginning of the episode.

Graphics: Halo's visual prowess is unparalleled in today's crop of first person shooters; the power of the Xbox allowed Bungie to go wild in the graphical department, spending polygons like pennies on detailed character and vehicle models with all the other bells and whistles you'd expect from a game optimized to run on a GeForce 3 based graphics accelerator. The massive outdoor levels come stocked with near photo realistic textures with water and sky effects even more beautiful than what the Unreal engine currently offers. Indoor and underground levels lose a lot of the awe factor that the outdoor maps seem to inspire, but upon close examination you'll find no compromise in their construction (it's just that they're not as flashy). In-engine rendered movies with great voice talent and stellar lip-synced character dialogue serves as glue to hold the plot together, and through the movies, players are taken on an interactive tour of this exciting world created by Bungie.

Audio: The very first level of Halo teaches you to listen and listen well. You'll have to find a certain marine in the middle of a firefight and let him tell you where you're supposed to go to advance. Even in basic stereo there's enough separation and sound balancing for you to hear what you need to hear from your comrades. In 5.1 surround sound, you're gong to be fully immersed. The sound is just incredible.

Suggestions: What else can I say? Just hope for online play and bots for multiplayer. Everything else is perfectly put in.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 NHL Hitz 2002

Overall: Even though I am not a true NHL fan, I REALLY like this game. Its just so darn fun, it has 7 Mini-Games to keep you busy. This is a definate game if you liked Blitz also.

Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing. It's all BAM after BAM! It's all crazy! You would see helmets flying everywhere. Except that they need 5v5 and bigger arenas. But the gameplay is just great.

Graphics: The player models are just amazing and the Fully polygonal crowd. You can't get any better then that.

Audio: The sound is great, especially the music. You get to use your music from the hard drive also! One word: WOOHOO! :D

Suggestions: You need to make the arena's bigger and you need to make it 5v5. That would be great, mayhem all over the place!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
