Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder

Overall: Other than the graphics this game is almost perfect. The original was a fan-favourite on Xbox Live and I'm sure this one will be even more popular and if your in Canada buy this game before October 31st 20030 because then you'll get a $10 rebate and the game will only be $39.99 CND! A great game for $39.99 ... doesn't get much better than that.

Gameplay: Since this is an expansion pack... the gameplay didn't change but that's a good thing since the original Ghost Recon had excellent gameplay. Lots of people complained because you couldn't see the gun your holding but once you play Ghost Recon you'll realize that it's for the better since usually the first person to spot an enemy will get the kill since it only takes about 1 or 2 shots to kill. The controls are exactly like 90% of the other FPS titles on Xbox... copying Halo's controls though none of us would have it any other way. The Ghost Recon franchise has always been very realistic and to be good in the game you will require a little bit of patience because if you run around the field guns blazing you'll get killed VERY fast. The A.I. is still great during campaigns and as bots in multiplayer, although you have to tell them EXACTLY where to go they still know how to shoot n kill very well

Graphics: I wasn't impressed with the graphics before and now that even more games came out with great graphics I'm even more dissapointed with Red Storm. I know its a port AND an expansion pack but they could've improved it a little just so that we don't have to stare at 2D leaves on the trees. The character models are still very good but everything else stayed the same. At least its not the ugliest Xbox game yet but it would have been great if it were one of the best looking games on Xbox.

Audio: In a game like this you need real good sound to pinpoint where a shot came from or how far the footsteps your hearing are from you so obviously Red Storm knew they had to make it great. The sound hasn't changed and so it's still great but I just wish Red Storm could've tweaked the sound a little to make it as good as games like Medal of Honor or Counterstrike. Don't get me wrong, it's great but knowing Red Storm they could've done a much better job. Obviously the sound hasn't changed but I wish it did a little so I can't give it the same score I did before.

Suggestions: Even though it's a port you could've updated the graphics.

Overall Score: 9.0 / 10 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3

Overall: Rainbow Six 3 now sits beside other games such as Halo, Crimson Skies, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Rainbow Six 3 is definetly as good of a shooter as Halo although the single player doesnt match up to Halo's, the addition of Xbox Live makes it up. This is a must own for any Xbox owner.

Gameplay: This game is exactly what you would get if you mixed CounterStrike and Splinter Cell. The game has alot of stealthy moments like Splinter Cell but the gameplay is exactly like CounterStrike including the weapons. You get about 30 weapons in the game which range from pistols to sniper rifles. You also get thermal/nightvision goggles which are very handy tools to use online and offline. The single player campaign is great you get different missions ranging from rescuing hostages and defusing bombs but to get the real fun of this game you have to play it on Xbox Live. On Xbox Live you could play Survival/Team Survival, Co-op, and many other game modes. You don't get any respawns like CounterStrike which is a great part of the game because it takes out spawn camping like there is in other games such as Ghost Recon. While playing single player you could use your Xbox live communicator to order your A.I around and that helps alot because in most games the A.I is worthless but in this game they actually help you by covering your blind spots or clearing a room. The controls are like Halo which is perfect for any Xbox game. What really makes this game shine is the realism in the game, every weapon has their strengths and weaknesses so you always have to be aware of the map your on or you'll die fast. This is the game every player on Live has been waiting for and its finally here!

Graphics: Pure Greatness! Every character in the game looks life like plus you get shadows for each one of those characters and its almost as good as Splinter Cell's shadows. What really amazed me about this game is when you go on Xbox Live and your talking in the game, your character mouth would actually move as if he were talking. The guns in the game look great and while you play the game you could actually tell which weapon your teammate has just by looking at it, you don't have to ask your teammate which gun he has because the guns are very detailed. The character movements aren't choppy like in other tactical shooters such as Ghost Recon. There could have been more character skins to choose from on Xbox Live besides just the 10 or however many you get but its not that big of a deal. It's always great that a game with such nice gameplay could gets nice graphics too.

Audio: The sounds in the game are great and they range from weapon to weapon. Every weapon I used so far has a special sound to them such as the sniper which has a loud one shot noise, the AK-47 which has the loud banging noise, and many others. Silenced guns sound great especially the silenced assault rifles. Footsteps also have many sounds in the game and they vary from walking on wood, metal, gravel, etc. Some of the sounds are identical to Splinter Cell's sounds such as metal banging and the music in the game. I haven't found anything wrong with the sound because the developers perfected this game and they didn't forget about the sound.

Suggestions: Continue making the great games!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Unreal Championship

Overall: This is an awesome fast paced multiplayer game. If you love Xbox Live or great multiplayer games this is a must buy but single player gamers should steer clear from this game since the single player mode is technically the multiplayer mode too.

Gameplay: This game is the most fast paced game I have played. There is alot of customization in this game ranging from the game speed to one shot kills (instagib). Its as good as a multiplayer Live game could get.

Graphics: This game looks great but nothing jaw dropping. Anyways, even if it looked great you'll have no time to glare at the graphics or someone will come behind you and kill you in a split second.

Audio: From the taunts to the rockets pounding out of the launcher this game sounds amazing! Players sound like they really are in the middle of a war game with bombs flying everywhere but they still have time to laugh and taunt the opponent. It's real entertaining to hear all the taunts.

Suggestions: Keep up the amazing work! You make the best multiplayer games on every console and thankfully you brought the best one to the Xbox!

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
