In gaming, there are few exercises quite as thrilling as mowing down a group of stormtroopers with Luke Skywalker and his trademark green light saber. Hell, video games might as well have been invented for the clear purpose of letting us realize our Jedi fantasies beyond swinging around a flashlight in the privacy, and secret shame, of our own homes. What\'s really amazing is that so few games baring the Star Wars license have been worth playing, given the purpose of video games is to let me play as a Jedi and chop dudes\' arms off, inexplicably not cauterizing the wound, and to convince girls that they do indeed want to come home with me."

Description

Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game’s single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as you battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, you can feel the Force as a Jedi.

Overall: Battlefront I was one of the cooler Star Wars games I've played, Battlefront II solved a lot of issues that Battlefront I had. Overall, I would probably call this Battlefront 1.5.
Gameplay: Compared to the first game, there are some great improvements over the original. The gameplay still feels the same, however you do get to pilot fighters and control guns on capital ships from a remote control room. (That technique is new and one that I really enjoy.)

The campaign for BF2 is also many times better than the original. Not only do you do famous battles as seen in the movies, you do them inside a story which makes the whole experience a lot more meaningful than the original.

Multiplayer wise, they could have improved the net code a bit... there are still lags but for the most part, less than the first battlefront.
Graphics: Visually the game is great. It's not as clear as Halo and some of the newer games out, but it's on par for having great graphics for being one of the SW based games.
Sound: The sounds are all ripped from the movies so they are pretty much accurate to the environment. When you play this game, you will feel as if you are there in the SW universe.
Suggestions: With the 360 launch so close, an emulator could have been put out to make this game compatible with the 360. Investigating alternate network code could also help improve the game as certain laggy experiences are killing the fun. Why not ask Bungie to try their net code? Just a thought.

Overall: Not much to say here, if you like Star Wars or the first game at all, you will probably like this game, if not look elsewhere for your action needs. With more heroes, more ships, more maps, more everything, there's a good amount to do here.
Gameplay: With some good things from the first, and some new things (space battles, playable heroes/villians) and more, there is alot to see and do. Multiplayer is the heart of this one, but playing through to get a top rank and unlock some bonuses makes it worth replaying a bit.
Graphics: While not the best looking game on Xbox, it has a little bit up on the first title, and some of the heroes/villians look pretty cool. Plus the new levels have some pretty rocking looks too.
Sound: All the sound effects, music, vehicle noise and explosions are here...not sure if the actual actors/extras from the films lent their talents for this one or not, but with all the frenzied action, you may not notice.
Suggestions: I'm not sure if I would call this one a full blown sequel, as opposed to an update to a good game. Once again, the multiplayer is what makes this one worth playing. The new medal and rank system to unlock bonuses is pretty good though. Don't know where you would go from here to improve this series though.
