Mass Effect 2 locked in at 30 fps
When Mass Effect was released in 2007, it was known as much for its problematic framerates and lengthy load times as its quality gameplay. According to associate producer Jesse Houston though, that wont be an issue in the sequel.
"If you look at most good shooters, they lock down frame-rate at 30 FPS. Weve done the same thing. Bam. Everythings 30 FPS, streaming is fixed up," he told Videogaming247.
"If you remember in Mass 1, if you took a step backwards and you hit a weird stream and itd pause for a moment. Weve done away with that. What youre seeing here is pulled straight from the game."
No more "weird streams." Check. Mass Effect 2 will be arriving on the Xbox 360 and PC in early 2010.
