Publishing deal for new non-Halo game is "close"
When asked by Eurogamer TV whether a publishing partner had been secured for the new game, Bungie multiplayer designer Lars Bakken suggested talks are drawing to an end.
"I think internally well know sometime soon. I dont handle these things, but Id imagine were going to know way before we make the public announcement of whos handling that. But sure, I think those talks are, I guess, close," he said.
Since ending its partnership with Microsoft and going independent at the end of 2007, the studio has continued to work on games in the Halo franchise.
At the end of last year it made public the news it is working on a new non-Halo IP, however nothing more has been heard of the project since then.
The studios next released game will be Halo 3: ODST, which is coming to Xbox 360 on September 22.
