Bioshock 2 gets 4 Developers
July 9, 2009 - Another developer is on board
with the production of BioShock 2, as Arkane Studios
let everyone know its helping out 2K Marin with
the upcoming sequel. Arkane is known for Dark
Messiah of Might and Magic as well as Arx Fatalis,
and is currently hiring for two "AAA" titles being
built for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
Posted on Arkanes site is a comment from 2K Marin
producer Alyssa Finley:
"BioShock 2 is a world class project led out of 2K
Marin that features involvement from a variety of
premiere studios from around the world. In the past
weve been working closely with 2K Australia for our
tech needs and Digital Extremes for our robust
multiplayer experience. Today Im proud to say that
weve added another important developer to the mix.
Under the direction and leadership of 2K Marin,
Arkane is assisting in the creation of levels that
embody the aesthetic and gameplay ideals that make
BioShock such a unique and exciting experience."
The game is currently scheduled to be released in
early November in North America across PlayStation 3,
Xbox 360, and PC platforms. For more on how the new
multiplayer component is coming along, you can check
out our most recent BioShock 2 preview as well as the
video interview. And if youre for some reason in the
mood to listen to some Big Daddy groans, The Cult of
Rapture was just updated with a selection of idle and
fighting sounds.
