Capcom Ships 4 Million Resident Evil 5 Copies
The news comes as the fifth instalment of the main Resident Evil series has sold over 400,000 copies across Japan in its debut week.
“Thanks to the company’s proprietary engine, the MT Framework, Capcom was able to make Resident Evil 5 a multi-platform title, giving a vast number of players the opportunity to enjoy the game,” Capcom said in a statement.
For now, that four million figure represents units shipped, not sold. Capcom recently announced that the demo of Resident Evil 5 had been downloaded 4 million times.
The entire Resident Evil Franchise has shipped over 40 million copies worldwide since the first title was released in 1996, Capcom added.
