Guitar Hero Invades Music Stores
Activision has struck a unique deal that will allow Guitar Hero bundles to be displayed and sold in music retail outlets across the UK.
As part of Activisions preparations for the release of Guitar Hero World Tour, the publisher is partnering with distributor Active Music to stock, display and demonstrate the game in a number of music stores.
Speaking to Edge, Active Musics Lee Worsley explained the reasons behind the deal; "a lot of guitarists and drummers tend to visit specialized outlets rather than the high-street to buy their instruments. This is a new market for Activision, they can see the potential of selling more copies of Guitar Hero by targeting a very specific customer, and theyre obviously going to sell well."
"All the stores we distribute to will be encouraged to display the items, which will give musicians a chance to see the game for themselves."
The game has been sold in U.S. music stores such as Guitar Center for months.
