E3 2008: Ubisoft Unveils I Am Alive
Ubisoft has confirmed its working on a brand new adventure game called I Am Alive. The title was officially unveiled at Ubis E3 press conference with a short trailer. A young male character was shown stumbling through a dimly lit underground tunnel. He was confronted by a group of men, one of whom bore a startling resemblance to Steve McFadden.
"You know what we want," said pseudo-McFadden, and the main character begrudgingly tossed a bottle of mineral water onto the ground. The men ran over to seize it but the floor beneath them collapsed and they fell out of sight.
The action then cut to a normal city scene where the main character, dressed in a suit and looking ready for a day at the office, was seen strolling down the street while talking on his mobile. But then cracks appeared in the road beside him and something began bursting through them. The air filled with a huge dust cloud, and then it was over.
Ubisoft has since issued a press release stating that I Am Alive will be released on "current generation videogame consoles" in "spring 2009". Its set in Chicago, apparently, which has been left in ruins. Your job is to find out why, and Ubisoft is promising that "players will be challenged to think, react and take risks that will directly affect themselves and those around them".
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot added, "The game will offer a rich palette of emotions while challenging players to make life-changing decisions."
This isnt the first weve heard of I Am Alive - rumours first began to swirl last week. Back then it was suggested Assassins Creed producer Jade Raymond is working on the game, but no mention of her was made today.
