BioShock Update Provides Fixes, Adds Plasmids
The update includes a handful of fixes for quirks that hampered what many players consider a front runner for the best game of the year, incuding the option to turn off the horizontal field of view. This allows players to you see more of the scenery on screen and addresses a major complaint with the PC version, where the widescreen view was just actually 4:3 with the top and bottom cropped off. Also included in the update is a new "Brass Balls" Xbox 360 Achievement, which effectively removes the Vita Chamber level checkpoints from play by requiring that players complete the game on the Hard difficulty setting without dying. Alternatively, players can opt to turn Vita Chambers off entirely for a truly masochistic BioShock experience.
For gamers looking to squeeze even more replay value out of the title, the update includes four new plasmids and gene tonics for the Gatherers Garden that are available as downloadable content. One of the plasmids, called Sonic Boom, either blasts enemies with a wave of sound or summons Guile to serve as a tag team buddy for the faceless BioShock hero. Youll just have to download the update to find out which one it is, now wont you?
