Microsoft Nets ESPN ‘Ball Games for Xbox Live
Of note, full, commercial free ESPN NCAA basketball and football games will be available to Xbox 360 owners via Microsoft’s Xbox Live digital delivery service. Select NCAA games will be available for purchase in standard or high-definition, for $3 and $4.50 respectively, 48 hours after games have taken place, while ESPN TV shows will be priced in line with other Xbox Live TV content - standard-definition programs will cost $2 and high-definition versions will retail for $3. "Delivering content through Xbox 360 is another way that we can connect fans with the sports they have such passion for," said Matt Murphy, senior vice president of digital video distribution for Disney and ESPN Media Networks. As part of the agreement, ESPN is considering ways to incorporate the Xbox Live online gaming community into its telecasts, although no plans have yet been formed. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.Source: http://www.next-gen.biz
