Next-gen FIFA 08 Revealed
FIFA made its next-gen debut in 2007 only on Xbox 360, but this year both next-gen consoles are getting in on the action, challenging players to master the skills required to play like a pro footballer. Using a next-gen game engine, FIFA 08 promises to deliver animations and ball control that is more responsive and more realistic than ever before, with footballers on the pitch now featuring even smarter AI to process multiple decisions in real-time. Players are now aware of their surroundings, reacting to threats and opportunities to make intelligent football decisions. The shooting system has been overhauled, offering players even more control and precision. The ball-striking engine calculates shot success by combining an almost infinite number of different contexts and takes into account ball spin, pressure from defenders, player attributes and even air pressure. For the first time in the series, through a new mode call Be A Pro, players will face the pressure to improve their game, locking the player into a single role and challenging them to master the disciplines of real footballer. Also new in FIFA 08 next-gen is the organic building-block system, making it possible to combine tricks and skills to create signature moves. Animations can be interrupted at any time, meaning players will be able to quickly respond to the actions of an opposing player. The Interactive Leagues feature that debuted in FIIFA 07 returns and makes its debut on Xbox 360 and PS3. This mode enables players to represent their club online and play against rivals throughout the season in the F.A. Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division. When your team plays in real life, you play in FIFA 08. The game is also 20% larger than FIFA 07 with the inclusion of 620 licensed teams, 30 leagues and more than 15,000 players. FIFA 08 is scheduled for release worldwide this autumn on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii, DS, PSP and PC.Source: http://www.pro-g.co.uk
