Gears Tops Nominees For Interactive Awards
The Epic-developed blockbuster Gears of War, which recently went triple platinum since its launch in mid-November, garnered nominations in categories including animation, art direction, voice acting, online gameplay, graphics, action game of the year, console game of the year and overall game of the year. Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, released in March for PC and Xbox 360, also received plenty of recognition with eight nominations, including music composition, play engineering, RPG of the year, computer game of the year and game of the year. Other highly recognized games include Call of Duty 3 from Activision and developer Treyarch, Nintendo’s Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Guitar Hero II. The 10th annual Interactive Achievement Awards will be held February 8 as part of the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas. Next-Gen will be bringing on-site coverage of the conference and awards. The awards are voted on by industry peers who are members of the AIAS.Source: http://www.next-gen.biz/
