Battlestations: Midway Gets Dated
Eidos announced that it will be shipping the large-scale nautical-warfare simulator, Battlestations: Midway, to North American retailers on January 30, 2007. The game will be available for the Xbox 360 and the PC. Battlestations: Midway is set during the historic air, sea, and underwater battles of World War II. The game plays out in regions across the Pacific Ocean in locales such as the Philippines, Java, and the Midway Atoll, the scene of the eponymous Battle of Midway. The game allows players to take real-time control of an entire fleet of planes, battleships, and submarines as they struggle through ten large-scale campaigns and eleven bonus challenge missions. In addition, players can take part in head-to-head and co-operative online fleet battles over Xbox Live. The game supports up to eight players at once. "Battlestations: Midway evokes some of the most dramatic events in US naval history and delivers a huge scale naval and aerial battle experience for gamers and enthusiasts," said Robert Lindsey of Eidos. "The year 2007 also marks the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Midway and we are proud to mark this significant occasion by bringing these events into the modern day in a cutting edge and powerful gaming context."Source: http://www.ign.com
