Oblivion Tops Spike TV Game Awards
Oblivion earned the most awards for a total of five, including Game of the Year. Microsoft and developer Epic’s Gears of War won awards including Best Graphics and Best Shooter, while RedOctane and Harmonix’s Guitar Hero II snagged the best soundtrack out of all nominated games. On the hardware end, the Nintendo Wii won the award for breakthrough technology. A wide range of celebrities appeared at the awards, which were hosted by Samuel L. Jackson. Tenacious D, 50 Cent, Rachael Leigh Cook and Tony Hawk were a few other celebs that were on-hand. The awards will air on Spike TV on December 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
