Dead Rising Achievement Guide

Dead Rising Achievement Guide Zombie Hunter - 20 Gamerpoints 1. Zombie Hunter - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 1,000 zombies. This one is simple, just run around and kill as many zombies as you can. You could also try doing what I say below for Zombie Killer and Zombie Genocider. Zombie Killer - 20 Gamerpoints 2. Zombie Killer - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 10,000 zombies. Go outside to the courtyard when the convicts are driving around. Kill them in whatever fashion youfd like, I personally used a shotgun to blast the guy in the back with the machine gun, then killed the other two guys as well (either use the shotgun again or steal the machine gun from the back of the truck and use that). Then, grab their vehicle and go to the tunnels (look at the map, on left side of the map therefs a big square with a little car icon on it. Thatfs where you need to go. See the entrance leading to the right and into the courtyard? Go through that entrancec then just follow it all the way down, and into the tunnels). After you get to the tunnels, all you have to do is basically drive around and run over as many zombies as you can. Ifm not sure if the convicts car can break down at all, but if it does, run to one of the dead ends and a truck is usually there, so grab that and drive back to the entrance, killing as many zombies as you can. Then switch to the sports car and drive back into the tunnel, killing as many zombies as you can, and heading for the truck location again. Just do this back and forth. Note that it will take quite a few hours to complete this. Best time Ifd recommend doing it is in Overtime mode (where you have 5 days). Just completely ignore the calls and main missions. Ifm not sure if the cars respawn in infinity mode so do that one at your own risk. Zombie Genocider - 20 Gamerpoints 3. Zombie Genocider - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 53,594 zombies. Same as above (Zombie Killer). Either head over to where the motorcycle and red car are, hop into whichever one you like, or go to Seon's head through the double doors by the butcher shop and continue down some stairs until you're in the maintenance tunnels. Start from the northwest corner of the maintenance tunnels. (or, if you used the Seon's method, you're already there.) Hop into the delivery truck, drive to the area where there is a loop in the tunnels, then head back up to the northwest corner, go back into Seon's, come back out, repeat. You can also stock up on some wine for health in case you ever need to because of damage this way too. Self Defense - 20 Gamerpoints 4. Self Defense - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 1 psychopath. The psychopathfs are NOT the guys in yellow coats. When you kill them, it says you killed a psychopath but they donft count for this achievement. Instead, the psychopaths are the bosses found throughout the game, such as the crazy clown, the grocery store guy, the guy in the hunterfs store, the crazy cult dude, the molotov cocktail nerd, etc. Play through the game as normal and whenever you get a call from Otis, answer it. Sometimes it leads to a boss battle with a psychopath. Also be sure to take a picture of each psychopath to get the Psycho Photo and Psycho Collector achievements (see below). Easiest way to take out most of the psychopathfs is to use the convictfs vehicle machine gun that is strapped to the back of the car. Carry it with you to each battle and just fire like crazy. Peace Keeper - 20 Gamerpoints 5. Peace Keeper - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 5 psychopaths. Same as above (Self Defense). Punisher - 20 Gamerpoints 6. Punisher - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 10 psychopaths. Same as above (Self Defense/Peace Keeper). Legendary Soldier - 20 Gamerpoints 7. Legendary Soldier - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 10 special forces soldiers. Later in the game youfll end up fighting against soldiers wearing bulletproof armor and carrying SMGfs. You have to take out 10 of them to get this achievement. Best way Ifve found is to use the shotgun or the convictfs vehicle machine gun strapped to the back. Hella Copter - 20 Gamerpoints 8. Hella Copter - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: ???? Later in the game a helicopter will appear in the courtyard to take you down. Use your sniper rifle and aim at the pilot, then fire a few rounds. If you can hit the pilot youfll kill him and the helicopter will be destroyed. Tour Guide - 20 Gamerpoints 9. Tour Guide - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Escort 8 survivors at once. Ifm not sure if this will work butc Play through the game as normal, as many calls from Otis as possible, and go get all of the survivors. Take them all the way back to the rooftop (just after you get out of the elevator) but do NOT take them inside the air vent. Instead, hold the right trigger and press Y while pointing somewhere on the rooftop. The people will run over to that location and stay there. Then go back and collect more. After youfve got 8 (in total), run back to the rooftop and press Y and all of them should follow you, you should get the achievement. This is untested so Ifm not sure if it will workc someone test this for me. I will probably have this confirmed tomorrow but what you can do is escort all the ladies to the roof. Then use RT + Y so they will stay. Accumulate 8 woman and then take them through the vent. First, go to Paradise after 2PM and save the sacrifice girl from the cult. Then, save the four girls from Jo...after that, save a guy and a girl hanging from a inflatable bunny. You now have 5 girls and 1 guy. Wait somewhere with them, preferably back in the warehouse, until after midnight (so it's a while) when Otis gives you the Strange Group scoop. bring your group to the movies, take out the cult leader, then take out the rest of his followers that file in. Two guys and two girls gives you a total of 10 people - seven girls, three guys. Fetch the last girl from the door opened by the cult leader's key..and voila...not only are you a tour guide, but you're a pimp, too. best time to do it is on the above the law quest and killing the cult leader Frank the Pimp - 20 Gamerpoints 10. Frank the Pimp - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Simultaneously escort 8 female survivors. Do the same as above (Tour Guide), but limit yourself to only female survivors. Kill any male survivors that end up with you. Full Set - 20 Gamerpoints 11. Full Set - TYPE: Total REQ: Collect all portraits in the NOTEBOOK. Youfll have to answer every call from Otis and do every main story mission and Scoop mission. Youfll meet every single survivor and fill up the notebook by the end of the game. Youfll also need to run around the mall and check every location every 10 or so (in-game) hours to check if there are any bosses or stragglers running around. But it seems to all be at random. Humanist - 20 Gamerpoints 12. Humanist - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get at least 10 survivors out of the mall. Answer every call from Otis and do every side mission. This one shouldnft be too hard. You donft have to escort them all at once, just get them back to the security location. Also be sure to take a picture of every survivor you save to get the Portraiture and Census Taker achievements (see below). Life Saver - 20 Gamerpoints 13. Life Saver - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get at least 20 survivors out of the mall... Same as above (Humanist), but you may need to do it during the 5 day game. Saint - 20 Gamerpoints 14. Saint - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get at least 50 survivors out of the mall. Same as above (Humanist/Life Saver), but again, you may need to do it during a 5 day game. Strike! - 20 Gamerpoints 15. Strike! - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Send at least 10 zombies flying with bowling balls. Grab a bowling ball from any sports store. If you look at the map I linked to above, the location marked P-111 on the right side, the one that is orange, on the first floor, and right next to the bathroom, is where you can find some bowling balls. Take a bowling ball and go to a location that has a ton of zombies (the underground tunnels work well). Then just hold the right trigger, hold X, wait a few seconds, and let go of X. Hefll let the ball go flying. If it knocks over 10 zombies, youfll get the achievement. Take a bowling ball outside into the park and line up a shot with the zombies crowding by the doors. Costume Party - 20 Gamerpoints 16. Costume Party - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Place novelty masks on at least 10 zombies. Simple. Go to any toy store, pick up the masks, and put them on 10 zombiesf heads. If youfd look at the map, the green locations are toy stores, which include E109 (right of Entrance Plaza, first floor), P102 (Paradise Plaza, left side, first flood), and P110 (Paradise Plaza, top right side, first floor). Raining Zombies - 20 Gamerpoints 17. Raining Zombies - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Knock at least 30 zombies aside with a parasol. A good place to do this is in Al Fresca Plaza. Over there you should see one of those big umbrellas that you can pick up. Find one, pick it up, then hold X and charge into a group of zombies. You donft have to kill them, just run into as many as possible. Gourmet - 20 Gamerpoints 18. Gourmet - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Eat all types of food available in the mall. On the map, every location that is marked light orange (see the Food Court in the bottom left corner for an example) is a place where food is sold. Go to each one of those and eat anything you find in there. If you donft have the achievement after going to each store, then run around the mall and eat any food you find. Be sure to break any boxes you find as they sometimes include food. Item Smasher - 20 Gamerpoints 19. Item Smasher - TYPE: Total REQ: Break at least 100 items. Run around the mall and every time you find a potted plant, pick it up and break it over the head of a zombie. Ifm not sure if it will work if you just break it on the floodc Ifm also not sure if leaving the area and coming back when the potted plant has respawned, then using it again will count for this achievement. But itfs up to you to try. If anybody can confirm if any of these work let me know. Bullet Point - 20 Gamerpoints 20. Bullet Point - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Fire at least 1,000 bullets. Go to the Huntinf Shack (very top of the map, the green square). In there are sniper rifles and shotguns. Take them and fire like crazy. Note that therefs a boss with a shotgun in this room as well, be sure to take him out first (obviously). You could also try killing the convicts in the courtyard and then taking the gun strapped to the back of their vehicle, and shooting randomly until the bullets are done. Finally, you can try and get the SMG in the Paradise Plaza and shoot all of the bullets (I believe it has either 50 or 100 bullets). The guns respawn after a certain amount of time, so just switch between all 3 and by the time you go back to one or the other, it should have respawned (with the exception of the convicts). Perfect Gunner - 20 Gamerpoints 21. Perfect Gunner - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Don't miss with a machine gun. For this one I believe what I heard was you can't miss with an entire clip, meaning every bullet must hit flesh (undead, psychopath, or special ops) until you run out of bullets. best way to do this is one bullet at a time Photojournalist - 20 Gamerpoints 22. Photojournalist - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Score at least 1,500 PP from a single photo. At the very beginning of the game, do your thing until you get to the rooftop where the man and lady need help. Find the man first, then talk to him, get him to follow you, then run to the lady (the man is on the right, the lady on the left). The two will run to each other and hug. Take a picture at that exact moment, should net you an easy 10,000 PP. Another good location is to find that photographer dude that takes pictures, watch him. When he jump kicks towards a zombie, just as he hits the zombie take a picture. If youfre close enough and itfs perfect, another easy 10,000 PP. There are plenty of other locations you can go to to get a lot of PP for a single picture. Try taking pictures of various PP stickers as well (although they donft net you as much as pictures of people). Also, find the book that gives you a 25% PP boost for pictures, as that will help greatly. I believe itfs found in Contemporary Reading in Paradise Plaza, which is P101 on the map. If not there, try Backmanfs Bookporium, which is P108. Note that therefs a book that is for 25% PP boost for killing zombies, be sure not get this book as itfs the wrong one. The Artiste - 20 Gamerpoints 23. The Artiste - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Score at least 3,000 PP from a single photo. See above (Photojournalist). Group Photo - 20 Gamerpoints 24. Group Photo - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get 50 Target Markers with the camera. Go to any location with a ton of zombies (the underground tunnels is a good location) then just get as many as you can on the screen at once while holding out your camera and snap a picture. Portraiture - 20 Gamerpoints 25. Portraiture - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Photograph at least 10 survivors. Follow the same advice from above (Humant/Life Saver/Saint), but be sure to take pictures of each of the survivors. Note that as far as I know, you donft have to save them; you just have to take a picture of them. You can also wait until youfve got a bunch in the security rooms and then just take the pictures there near the end of the game. Census Taker - 20 Gamerpoints 26. Census Taker - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Photograph at least 50 survivors. See above (Portraiture). Psycho Photo - 20 Gamerpoints 27. Psycho Photo - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Photograph at least 4 psychopaths. Follow the advice from above (Self Defense/Peace Keeper/Punisher) but you donft exactly have to kill the psychopaths. Just a simple picture should do it. Psycho Collector - 20 Gamerpoints 28. Psycho Collector - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Photograph at least 10 psychopaths. See above (Psycho Photo). PP Collector - 20 Gamerpoints 29. PP Collector - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Photograph all PP Stickers. Until a list of all PP stickers is posted on the net, therefs really not much I can do to help you here. Just look around the mall for anything with a PP sticker on it, then point the camera at it and take a picture. Youfll know itfs a PP sticker because a percentage will show up at the bottom of the screen when using the camera. If you get it at 100%, youfll get the most possible PP for that PP sticker, but you donft need 100% to get the achievement. 1.) Couple on rooftop - take a picture of them hugging. (previously stated in another thread) 2.) Rooftop Vent shaft - take a picture of it up close. 3.) Kent the camera guy - take a picture of him dropkicking a zombie (this one is earned by finding Kent in the mall in the beginning and completing a 500 pp photo challenge will let him runoff after zombies for photo ops). 4.) The fat guy in Jill's Sandwich shop that you have to rescue, after you feed him, it will pop up. 5.) On a mission I believe called The Lovers or something like that. It's in Wonderland Plaza on the second floor in a sports shop. The guy is injured and asks you for a gun while you take his girlfriend out. If you give him one, he commits suicide and there is a PP sticker. You have to get your camera out REALLY quick to not miss it. 6.) The hatchet guy you fight in the supply store when he goes into one of those little trap doors. 7.) The psycho in Wonderland with the molotov cocktail. After you defeat him, he'll accidentally set himself on fire and there will be another PP sticker. Plus if you put the fire out I think you can get him as a survivor. 8.) The two people hanging off the big inflated bear in Wonderland. Just snap them before they come down. Snuff Shot B - 20 Gamerpoints 30. Snuff Shot B - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: ???? SPOILER FOR CASE 7! When Brad (the black guy) goes after Carlito and then gets thrown into a room full of zombies, go into the room where they fought and go through that door. If the door is locked, then make your way through to the tunnels to where the maintenance key is located. Brad will be there in zombie form. Take a picture of him for the achievement. Right after case 7-2 get into a car and head back into the maintenance tunnels. He is in the hallway towards the center. There will be a long hall with a small square at the end on your map, but no stairs. Go there and you will start a cut-scene. Snuff Shot J - 20 Gamerpoints 31. Snuff Shot J - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: ???? Snuff Shot J, just go back to the safehouse, Jessica is right there. After the cut-scenes that show Jessie eating a Special Forces soldier, and you unsuccessfully trying to contact her, go to the security room right away. She will be in the hallway behind the monitor room. Transmissionary - 20 Gamerpoints 32. Transmissionary - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Answer all calls from Otis. Very simple, just answer any and all calls from Otis. You donft have to do the missions he gives you, just answer the phone every time it rings. Be sure not to be around zombies when you do, but if you have to, run around a lot. If you get caught in a hairy situation, simply press the L or R buttons (not triggers) and hefll put away the phone so you can attack. Indoorsman - 20 Gamerpoints 33. Indoorsman - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Spend at least 24 hours indoors. Kind of self explanatoryc Just stay in any in-door area for 24 hours (in-game) to get the achievement. Ifm not sure if this means in a row or notc Outdoorsman - 20 Gamerpoints 34. Outdoorsman - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Spend at least 24 hours outdoors. Again, self explanatory. Go to the courtyard or to the roof and stay there for 24 hours (in-game), but again, Ifm not sure if this means 24 hours in a row or total. Freefall - 20 Gamerpoints 35. Freefall - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Drop from a height of at least 16 feet (5 meters). This one is easy, when you leave the air vent, and youfre on the roof, donft take the elevator down. Instead, go to the left and follow the building around. On your right will be a door. Go through the door, down the hallway, and youfll end up on top of some hardware shelves. Just jump down to the floor below to get the achievement. Marathon Runner - 20 Gamerpoints 36. Marathon Runner - TYPE: Total REQ: Cover a distance of 26.2 miles (42.195 km). Just run around and donft stop, even when youfre talking to people (if you have control) throughout the game. Eventually youfll get it. It might be easier during infinity mode. Carjacker - 20 Gamerpoints 37. Carjacker - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Steal the convicts' vehicle. When the convicts show up in their vehicle in the courtyard, use a shotgun or SMG to take out the gunner, then take out the driver, and the other guy. Once all 3 are dead, just walk up to the side door of the car and press B. Youfll get the achievement (and a new car, to boot). I believe the convicts respawn occasionally, so if you killed them before, eventually theyfll come back to the courtyard and you can do it again. Stunt Driver - 20 Gamerpoints 38. Stunt Driver - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Jump a car at least 33 feet (10 meters). Not sure of the easiest way to get this onec I know that the only places you can drive cars are in the courtyard and tunnels, so you have to find a place that jumps your car fairly high. You could also try bringing a large object with you like a bench, then driving a car fairly fast right into it, and seeing if that works. If anybody can provide more info on this one thatfd be great. got it by having a group of the shopping cart zombies at the top of the drop from the northeast part of the maintenance tunnels. Get some speed, hit a group of them, you should fly enough to get it. Stunt Rider - 20 Gamerpoints 39. Stunt Rider - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Jump a motorcycle at least 33 feet (10 meters). I think the best way is right after the battle with Isabelle. Take her motorcycle, then jump one of the many ramps in the area. One of them should get you far enough. You could also try the large object bit from above (Stunt Driver) but with the motorcycle. Zombie Road - 20 Gamerpoints 40. Zombie Road - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Walk over 33 feet (10 meters) on the backs of zombies using the Zombie Ride. At a certain level you learn the Zombie Ride, once you have, go to a large group of zombies (underground tunnels would work), walk up to a zombie, and press A. Youfll grab the zombie and jump onto his shoulders. Now just walk forward. Once youfve walked far enough youfll get the achievement. Karate Champ - 20 Gamerpoints 41. Karate Champ - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 1,000 zombies barehanded. Ifd recommend waiting on this one until youfve learned a few of the wrestling and barehanded moves. Once you have, just go crazy. You can either play the game on normal or ignore the main story missions (or play infinity mode) and use no weapons whatsoever. Eventually youfll get this. You can also try running into the underground tunnels and taking out as many as you can barehanded. This one may take a while. Sharp Dresser - 20 Gamerpoints 42. Sharp Dresser - TYPE: Total REQ: Change into at least 20 different costumes. Go into every store in the mall and see if they have a change costume area. If it does, press B and change into it. On the map, the pink areas are clothing stores, so specifically check those, but also check the sporting stores and kids stores (and probably various others) as, I believe, they have clothing too. Ifm not sure if downloadable content counts for this achievement or not. You can change back into your original costume by going to the security area, then going into the back, and the boxes next to the stairs have your clothing. I believe using the sink in any bathroom allows you to change back as well. Donft forget the Megaman suit! Finally, Ifm not sure if glasses, shoes, and hats count towards this achievementc Clothes Horse - 20 Gamerpoints 43. Clothes Horse - TYPE: Total REQ: Change into all costumes available in the mall. See above (Sharp Dresser). Level Max - 20 Gamerpoints 44. Level Max - TYPE: Total REQ: Reach Lv. 50. Play the game time and again until you get to Level 50. Best way is to actually play the single player and doing as many side missions as possible. Also be sure to take a lot of photos, especially of the PP stickers. Just mess around and youfll get to Level 50 eventually. It will probably require multiple playthroughs. Unbreakable - 20 Gamerpoints 45. Unbreakable - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get the ture ending without being knocked out. For unbreakable, it simply means you must get all the way to the end of Overtime mode (from starting in 72 hour mode) without being captured by the green faced, yellow raincoat cult or by the special force soldiers. Overtime Mode - 20 Gamerpoints 46. Overtime Mode - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Unveil all CASES and be at the heliport at noon. Do just what it says. Go through the game and beat every case file. Then just go to the heliport on the roof (walk up the stairs in the back of the security room) around noon and wait for the helicopter to show up. Be sure to save before you do this in case something goes wrong. ‡ [Infinity] Mode - 20 Gamerpoints 47. ‡ [Infinity] Mode - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Get the true ending. I believe this just requires beating the game on Overtime mode, but I could be wrong. Any info on this would be helpful. 3 Day Survivor - 20 Gamerpoints 48. 3 Day Survivor - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Survive for at least 72 hours. Do just as it says. Start a 72-hour game and play like normal until you get to the end. You donft have to play the story missions. 5 Day Survivor - 20 Gamerpoints 49. 5 Day Survivor - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Survive for at least 5 days. Start a 5-day game and, again, play until the end. 7 Day Survivor - 20 Gamerpoints 50. 7 Day Survivor - TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Survive for at least 7 days. Play infinity mode and survive for 7 days. Might be harder than you think.
