Just Cause Demo Dated
It’s the game that has come out of nowhere to steal the thunder from Saints Row as the Xbox 360s first truly massive next-gen sandbox title. Thanks to lush visuals and a huge island as a backdrop, undercover CIA operative Rico Rodriguez’s exploits play like a collective Mission Impossible and James Bond Best Of. So the news that gamers who are eagerly awaiting their first spin around San Esperito may not have to sit tight until the title’s September 22 release date, would be welcome. And according to internet speculation, that could well be the case, as forum whispers are now pointing to a August 24 drop date for the Just Cause demo over Xbox Live Marketplace. This date was claimed to be lifted from an ‘official source’ close to the game, but publisher Eidos has yet to issue any official word on the existence of any upcoming preview. While a month seems like a long lead time between demo and full game, a similar venture occurred just last week with Dead Rising; Capcom’s new survival horror had a demo released for download on August 7, despite the (UK) on-sale date not tipped until September 8. However, the US got their hands on the title last Friday, with an early stateside release. Just Cause is set to drop in on the US and UK on 19 and 22 September, respectively. While we’d all like to parachute off a mountain cliff face while riding atop a sports car sooner rather than later, we’re not going to know for another few weeks whether this rumour will plummet and die, or take flight and soar.Source: http://www.oxm.co.uk
