Tecmo Blames DOA4 For Poor Earnings
Sales revenue still managed to rise significantly to $104 million compared to $67 million a year prior. Tecmo blamed the delayed release of Dead or Alive 4 (pictured) for the disappointing earnings results, as the game was only on sale for two days before the end of the fiscal year. The game was originally scheduled as a November 22, 2005 Xbox 360 U.S. launch title. The company also blamed weak sales of Tokobot for PSP and Monster Rancher 5. In what seems to be a reactive move, Tecmo will be shifting more of its focus on its pachinko, online game and mobile game divisions to complement its console efforts. For fiscal 2006, Tecmo adjusted its net profit forecasts down to $4.7 million, and its sales forecasts down to $101 million.Source: http://www.next-gen.biz/
