Oblivion Collector’s Edition Revealed
Today Oblivion's creators revealed the special Collector's Edition of the game. Both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will get Collector's Edition treatment, for gamers wanting a deluxe experience. The special version should arrive simultaneously with the standard edition. Let's take a look at what being a Collector means: You'll get main Oblivion game, of course, on DVD, just like the plain-version kids get. Only right off the bat you'll be shinin' the slick, as the Collector's Ed. comes packed in a slip-out, leather-esque case. Slide the goods out and you'll find a four-panel fold-out package, similar to the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD sets. Looks aren't everything, of course. The set includes a bonus DVD filled with concept art, renders, and screens. Even better, the DVD includes a substantial "making-of" documentary letting you in on what it was like for Bethesda to create a new world. More tangibly, the Collector's package includes a reproduction of one of the Septim coins used in the game (Bethesda is apparently quite pleased with how realistically the trinket turned out), as well as a 112-page "Pocket Guide to the Empire," full of history, lore, and other juicy details on the Elder Scrolls world. Of course, you'll also find the hefty game manual and map included in the standard edition.
