Details About DOA 4s Online Play
A competitive Online game is nothing without a matching service where you meet other players before and after battle, and Dead or Alive 4 is no exception. While we already made brief mention of the DOA4 lobby system in our X05 hands-on preview, the latest issue of Famitsu offers a closer look. The DOA4 lobby system is downright bizarre, looking nothing like the main game. The lobby is set in one of ten themed areas. The magazine includes first looks at a Halloween-themed room filled with pumpkins and wild vegetation. Also shown are pictures of a swamp stage where, rather than walking around as you chat with other players, you swim! As your in-game personalities for these lobby sessions, you select from a set of avatars thats expected to number around 30. These arent the detailed DOA warriors youve come to expect from the series. Instead, you can chose to play as cute characters, including a cat, fish, penguin, ninja, crab, alligator, ghost, fairy, chicken, butterfly, skeleton, to name just a few. Were guessing that youll have to chose a creature capable of swimming or walking, depending on the lobby at hand. Lobbies can hold between ten and twenty people. In addition to chatting, you can view on-going fights. Each stage has a wide screen monitor where you can monitor a current fight with your fellow players, chatting as you watch. All this should make for a strange break away from the hardcore fighting found in Team Ninjas latest fighter. Look for Dead or Alive 4, cats, alligators and fairies and all, at the Xbox 360 launch.Source: http://xbox360.ign.com/
