Bungie Announces Autoupdate #4
Bungie Announces Autoupdate #4 Bungie announced on their community web site today that they will release Autoupdate number 4 tomorrow morning. In a Q&A posted on their site they stated that the latest patch will address cheating, security issues, and a number of bugs. One of the recent problems that followed the release of downloadable content and the Multiplayer Map Pack was rampant use of modded content to enable cheating. The new maps exist in their entirety on the Xbox hard drive allowing players to modify the content and then sign onto Live with the changes. Bungie states that they have included solutions to this problem with the Autoupdate and any players found cheating will be permanently banned with "no appeal process." This stands for Matchmade and custom games and the Q&A includes some excerpts from the Xbox Live Terms of Use statement to drive the point home. One specific problem addressed by the patch is the Relic teleporter bug that allowed players to reach a locked teleporter by crouch jumping. Halo 2 statistics will not be reset with the update, but Bungie promises that the cheaters will no longer be on the leaderboards. The Q&A is very clear concerning Bungies feelings towards cheaters on Xbox Live. The team is tired of "cheats, rank-whorers and miscreants" and is going to crack down on those that ruin the game for fun-loving players who follow the rules.Source: http://www.ign.com
