(RUMOR) - Metal Gear On The Xbox 360?
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has told Japanese magazine Famitsu that he chose PlayStation 3 for the next installment in his stealth-action series because of loyalty to Sony, according to a partial translation by US website IGN. Kojima said that the decision was an easy one because the Metal Gear Solid series had grown up with Sony hardware, the Sony market and Sony's support, it was reported. However while the game is exclusive to PlayStation 3 at this point, it's not inconceivable that it might port to the likes of Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution, although the veteran developer apparently said he'd prefer to do something new with Metal Gear on those platforms - perhaps with a product that distinguishes itself as Metal Gear Acid did on the PlayStation Portable. Kojima has previously admitted that he has his doubts about PS3 hardware. In an online interview last month, he said he was "not sure...everyone can live up to that high standard that Sony is expecting," before describing the Xbox 360 as more "down to earth". IGN reports that his latest Famitsu interview sees him commenting on PS3's high level visuals again, before reiterating that Xbox 360 may enjoy more developer support this generation. He also reportedly said that he expects a few more Nintendo Revolution revelations in the run up to that system's launch, expected in mid-2006. PlayStation 3 is expected to launch next spring, while Xbox 360 will be with us this Christmas.Source: http://www.gamesindustry.biz
