Pre E3 2005: Midway’s Lineup

Pre-E3 2005: Midway’s Big Lineup May 6, 2005 - Midway is putting together an impressive lineup for this year’s E3, and recently we had the chance to get our hands on the new games. What did we play? We put our hands on several games, more than we’re talking about here, but we were able to break these stories early for being nice. Which, admittedly, is rare for us. Midway has been around the block a few times and fans will recognize many of the franchises on display. But don’t expect a bunch of retreads; all of these titles have a fresh approach to these well-known franchises. Blitz the League When EA grabbed the exclusive football license for every possible kind of football across the planet, companies like Midway had to get creative. What did they do? Blitz the League shows off a more complex football game, but also a dirtier, grittier and unrestricted kind of football. LA Rush Believe it or not, since the early winter showing of this famous arcade racer, Midway has completely re-vamped the graphics engine of this huge, open city racer. What will it look and play like? David Clayman delivers his complete impressions of LA Rush here, so don’t be afraid. Go check it out. The Suffering: Ties That Bind When people talk about Midway’s so-called turnaround, they point at, among other games, the The Suffering and NBA Ballers. Now Midway has returned to its roots with developer Surreal Software to re-create, improve, and darken the sequel, The Suffering: Ties that Bind.
