Ubisoft Picks Up Microids Team March 2, 2005 - Ubisofts Montreal studio is in agreement to acquire MC2-Microids Canadian development team, according to an announcement by Ubisoft today. The deal will formally close when both parties have met requirements of the agreement. Microids is best known for its adventure titles, such as the Syberia games, which emphasize intricate storytelling and lush production design. When complete, the deal will add Microids fifty Canadian developers to the Ubisoft Montreal team. According to a Ubisoft, there are no new titles coming directly from the acquisition. "Microids employees will be integrated in different teams here in the studio on projects that are already in production," commented a spokesperson for Ubisoft Montreal. Among other projects, Ubisofts Montreal studio developed the new Prince of Persia titles and is currently developing King Kong, based on Peter Jacksons upcoming film.Source: http://www.ign.com
