Atari Extends Dragon Ball Powers Activate licensed goodness! January 12, 2005 - Atari announced today that it has extended its Dragon Ball licensing agreement with FUNimation Productions. The companies enter a new five-year agreement granting Atari exclusive Dragon Ball video game rights in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The agreement covers all current and future gaming consoles, including handhelds. "Atari connects with a brand and its fans, and as a result we have created the great video games in the Dragon Ball franchise," says Gen Fukunaga, President of FUNimation. "The Dragon Ball brand is on a roll and we look forward to even more success with Atari and the continued growth of the Dragon Ball franchise." Along with the recently-released Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2, Atari's work with the franchise continues later this year with Dragon Ball Z: Sagas, the first DBZ title to reach Xbox, and Dragon Ball GT: Transformation for the Game Boy Advance.Source: http://www.xbox.ign.com/
