Winning Eleven 8 Coming To America
Making its way from the insanely devoted fans of Japan to the riot-inducing fanaticism of Europe, Konami now brings its vaunted international soccer series Winning Eleven 8 to the still-wondering-if-they-like-it US crowds. Winning Eleven 8 comes to PlayStation 2, and for the first time, Xbox, for a deeper, more subtle game of futbol in spring 2005. Featuring more teams, players and stadiums than ever before, plus all the teams from the Italian, Spanish and Dutch leagues (using the official license), this year's iteration blends more animations and tons of new moves to create a masterpiece of soccer goodness. The game offers 136 club teams and 57 national teams, with the chance to control as many as 4,500 of the world's greatest soccer players. For the first time, licensed leagues gives Winning Eleven fans player likenesses, player names and official kits. Using photo realistic visuals, authentically modeled characters and stadiums, and incorporating individual styles of play, movement and ball control, Winning Eleven 8 fans are in for a real treat. New moves and tricks include new free kick and penalty kick techniques, an indirect free kick move and a new dribbling system providing even more control for one-on-one face-offs. Gamers will encounter advanced player stats as they progress through their season, with details so vital they govern every aspect of play. Another new addition is an on-screen referee, a first for the series, who will run up and down the field, calling fouls and trying to calm down heated players.
