Star Wars Lego Game Announced
Purists will probably be livid with the announcement of a Star Wars Lego game. They may feel that this is one cross-pollination too far, but others may well be intrigued at the prospect of controlling some of their favourite characters from the prequel films. Developing duties have been given too Travellers Tales who hope to publish the game through Giant Interactive on both consoles and the PC next April. Giving players the ability to mix an affinity with wee blocky men and the rise of the Empire the as-yet untitled product will combine vehicular-based action with the more traditional bipedal adventuring. Qui-Gon and Ob-Wan are the main protagonists but as the game progresses more characters will become available, with Jango Fett, Anakin, an assortment of droids, other heroes and villains all waiting to become unlocked. Gameplay will involve much in the way of light-sabering your way to victory with pod races, space battles and other set pieces liberally sliced into the action. Two-player co-operative is also promised, with the ability drop in and out of the game at will. The Force will also play a part with players able to use it to pull apart and recombine the Lego-based scenery. The undeniable appeal of seeing your favourite Star Wars characters and vehicles rendered in playful little blocks may well help to propel this as yet untitled game to the top of the Lego pile.Source: http://www.ferrago.com
