Neversoft Developing A New Game
Activision announced today that one of its wholly studios, Neversoft, the creators behind the Tony Hawk Series, is in development of a new intellectual property that will bring Neversoft development to a new genre. The unnamed title is set for release in 2006, alongside a new game in the Tony Hawk franchise that Neversoft will develop for the same finical year. "We are very excited about Neversoft’s new game, which is not a sports title, and will continue expanding the studio’s development resources," said Ron Doornink, CEO of Activision. "Neversoft is one of the industry’s premier development studios and among a handful of developers worldwide with a consistent track record of success. To date, the Tony Hawk games have sold in excess of $800 million over the life of the franchise. Since 1999, Neversoft has developed six games in the action-sports and action-adventure genres, each of which have been critically acclaimed, multi-million-unit selling titles."
