Two Million Copies Of Spiderman 2 Shipped
Providing some healthy positive reinforcement for the publisher and developer of a well-made movie-licensed game, some two million copies of Spider-Man 2 have shipped to retail across multiple platforms, Activision announced today. That figure covers all five versions of the game -- PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, and Game Boy Advance -- released last week alongside the much-anticipated movie sequel, putting it on par with this summer's other major hit, Atari's DRIV3R. Assuming all two million of those units have sold through to consumers (or will in short order), that adds up to gross receipts between $80 and $100 million. Not quite on the level of the film's take, currently at $180 million and counting, but it's certainly a respectable figure regardless.Source: http://www.1up.com
